BoBo in Wirral

Food is very good. Not sure where some reviewers have actually eaten, it seems not to be at BoBo West Kirby? We went for dinner and drinks and it is a solid experience. Lamb chops were very good! Music was exciting but not intrusive, a very welcome addition of a DJ in there, adds to the summer vibe of the menu! Don't let a handful of negative reviews put you off, those types should go to miserable places like Wetherspoons instead.

Went during last May bank holiday. Service and food was excellent, tasty and well presented. Additional plus was a DJ in there, which we now understand is a bi-weekly event, and certainly added a bit of latino and lounge atmosphere! Drinks are affordable and there's a very good selection of wines. Would recommend, great addition to West Kirby!

The first time I visited BoBo's and I was very impressed. My friend and I had the vegan option, of which there are many to choose from. All the food was imaginative, tasty, and well presented. The staff were helpful and friendly. I will definitely be eating here again in the near future!

Really friendly and accommodating staff. Dog friendly too!! The food we ordered was lovely, arrived in a timely manner. Great addition to West Kirby. Will definitely go again. Atmosphere early evening was very family and dog friendly. Then as the evening progressed it became very date night with low lightening and beautiful decor.

The main memory from our visit was the very poor service from the staff. Fairly frequently they were all in a huddle by the bar, rather than trying to attend to customers. One girl was repeatedly playing with her hair, serving food, and then going back to playing with her hair. We got the impression that having customers was a bit of an inconvenience for them! Some of the food was delicious, but other items appeared to be frozen purchases. I note that they don’t claim that the food is freshly made on the premises. A disappointment really.

Our 20 year old was asked for ID in order to drink with a meal with parents- when did this become law in England? They wouldn’t even accept a photo of her ID on any of our phones. No apology from the manager. Disappointing.

Food was okay… and that’s being quite generous. Chinese chicken was far too greasy and the Langostinas had far, far too much garlic - I also question the quality of the prawn as a good standard Langostina will peel from the shell quite nicely but most of this turned to mush - maybe a bad batch? I don’t know. At £11 a pop you expect more. I can handle the food not being amazing, my biggest gripe was that there were 3 tables in (including ours) and one staff member was sat on the high chairs at the bar, the other was stood at the pass speaking to the chefs. Service is a huge part of my experience, so I actually timed it - it took the waitresses 13 minutes to come over and take a drinks order…. There were 3 tables in. Absolutely substandard I am afraid. It was Christmas Eve and the staff probably didn’t want to be there but some professionalism wouldn’t go a miss. I really want this place to succeed but on the basis of this visit - I am not overly optimistic. I hope the owner takes this review seriously and perhaps checks cctv / take some honest options on board rather than respond with a sharp, dismissive comment like they have in the past.

Took a friend for the Seafood Shack special event dinner and respect where it's due - the whole evening was just great. And what a great idea to hook up with another local business. The quality of the food and the standard of cookery was top drawer and this is coming from someone who tends to avoid the fruits of the sea. It's turned my head. A shout out in particular to the staff - their communication and attentiveness was spot on and the chef even came out at the end of service to chat about the menu. This was my third visit to BoBo and it has got better and better. I'll be back soon. Well done!

Great evening, lovely atmosphere, brilliant service from Nicola. The Seafood Evening set menu was delicious and I would definitely recommend it.

Really enjoyable evening! Enjoyed not being face with everything at once and was able to the flavours of each dish. Enjoyed the really chilled vibe even though it was busy! Staff were great and really helped for me and my wife to enjoy our evening. Will definitely be returning with our friends

Visited BoBo for the first time &it wont be our last. The staff were really accommodating &friendly. Nothing was too much trouble &our server explained the dishes brilliantly. The food not only looked, but tasted beautiful too. The atmosphere with the music was just right, will most certainly be back.

Don’t waste your money. Ordered the burger.. had a so called brioche bun..this turned out to be so stale and dry it was disintegrating on the plate. I had to remove the burger and eat it on its own..virtually dry as any sauce had soaked into the dry bun and disappeared. I pointed this out to the waitress who said they were trying new buns today.. quite ironic as the bun tasted about a week old if not more. Even more funny that they had toasted it!! Hilarious. No apologies, no money off the bill..

Food and wine fine, however, let down by poor toilets. 1 out of action, no hand dryer or towels to dry hands. No ombiance, battery lights on tables, none working. Buckets of cutlery more like a cafe.

lovely staff but what let it down was the wait for the food. It wasn’t mad busy we ordered six dishes. One came which we finished then four more and about 10 minutes after we had finished them the last one came. Would have been nice to have them all together. The food was really nice but the portion sizes were small so not value for money. Disappointed.

Been a huge fan of Bobo since I first entered the venue on castle street, was thrilled when the site in west Kirby opened, been a regular since the doors open and I’ve been nothing but impressed, but the new dishes. Wow. I just had to leave a message to make sure people some check them out! Bobo, keep up the good work, ask for Leigh, the service is impeccable! Catch you soon guys, much love!

The attached photo was half roast lemon and herb chicken . When o ordered i asked what did it come with and was told it didn't come with anything and was advised to order a side so I got fries. At £18.50 for just the chicken with 2 small peppers I thought was expensive and as you can see in the photo it was small. The couple sitting behind me wasn't impressed either judging by what they were saying. The staff were very good and helpful but I wouldn't go back.

Awful .. truly awful . Service was worse than slow , we waited over an hour to receive two dishes .. then another 25 mins for another two , we actually cancelled some dishes as we had gone past hunger. The food was deep fried , greasy and tasteless , apart from the prawns . Portions embarrassing small, and also embarrassing expensive . I felt really sorry for the waiting on staff as they were unable to do anything . There was 5 of us in our group .. not 1 person will go back .

We were so excited to try Bobo the staff were so friendly and helpful and we ordered some sangria which was really lovely. The atmosphere is really nice inside the venue, we’ve seen many businesses come and go in this unit and it’s always felt like there’s no atmosphere however Bobos have nailed this. We ordered some food, I had some tapas and my husband had the burger. The only comments I have is that it was average and quite pricey. Won’t be dining again unless the quality and taste is improved but would certainly return for a drink.
