Cool little pub in the basement, a bit out of the way, live music and a great atmosphere.

Really enjoyed Wed night, great band, vibe and music.

What a neat place and glad we found it. Homemade moonshine. Yum and nice decor with some friendly people.

Live jazz, usually starting at 9pm. If you go late, there will be no room to sit, but standing is also good.

actually i want to complain for the behaviour of your door person last night fair do we werent aloud in but the does not mean your female bouncer trying to antagonise me infront of my sons its not on and unprofessioal saying im i bad dad which im not it was my sons 19 birthday and you door person spoiled it so thanks for that i wont be back any time soon

Lush bar with great staff and interesting drinks. Brill sessions here with Jonny Boyle - Mondays songwriter sessions, Wednesday covers open mic/big band alternating. Get lots of excellent players here and brilliant community too. Im making it a regular :)

Nice cellar bar that supports local artists and performers. The owner seems pretty knowledgeable about live music and performs himself.

Excellent and quirky basement bar with specialty drinks not to be found elsewhere. Great live entertainment most nights. Super friendly staff to chat too. Small and cosy. Well-maintained toilets and clean overall. Can be a little raucous if you want to chat but live a little!

Edit: we have returned a few times since my original 5* review. Last night the "band" was a very talented guitarist with a singer who should not have been "singing". Warbling random sounds, leaving the microphone at random times. Clearly worse for wear. Not a pleasant watch and felt vaguely exploitative. Original review: Cozy bar with great blues rock music. The band playing were 3 piece old style rock blues and a perfect fit for the bar's style. The best blues bar we've been in this side of the Atlantic.

Amazing music and vibes. The drinks are way over priced for the amount of liquor. A specialised long island iced tea menu but when you watch the drink being made its only about a shot of liquor in each drink. For the price of drinks, I'd like to feel a buzz, not rehydrated.

Pretty good, quite small so not fun when too busy. Staff are lovely and great selection of bourbon

Lovely friendly dive bar with some great live music.

We found this bar by accident. We're really glad we did. Top notch. We stayed there for most of the night. Saw some great live, original music. We will be back for sure. The locals were so friendly,we felt really welcome 😁

The best bar in Newcastle, highly recommended. Apple pie moonshine & pickle backs what more do you need. The staff are amazing & the live music is sure to get your feet tapping.

Amazing venue and helpful staff. I've been in 4 times sins iv been in Newcastle and it has never failed to be a grate time. A grate saxophone player goes to the open mic night. a lively and engaging pub quiz and to top it off they had a viewing on one of the best movies of all time, the karate kid. 100% recommend poping in any day of the week.

Venue is small but has live music or DJ. .downside is it is downstairs, small with a small bar, specialising in whiskey.
