Great food, very friendly staff, highly recommended

I was in the area (stopped by to deliver some packages) and even though my fish and chips were stuck in traffic with me for 55 minutes, a quick zap j the microwave and my fish & chips were really delicious! Generous portion size and quality fish and large chips which were amazing! Thank you so much. Highly recommended.

Amazing amazing amazing to all and everything. Not too long moved into the area and this F&C shop has outdone themselves. Prices are excellent food is excellent staff friendly and excellent. The shop itself is super clean.

undercooked and cold chips not worth the silly prices

Despite some very stiff competition down the road this is actually my favourite chip shop locally. Thanks for reading and take care of yourselves out there.

Too much expansive and advertised different than real price

Everyone in the local area raves on about this place, so I thought to give it a try. Cod and chips were 8.50. They cooked it fresh, so I waited about 20 mins. Welcoming and clean establishment. Sat outside, which was nice in the sun. So, cod was relatively small but delicious. The batter was nice and crisp. Fish, perfectly cooked, flaky, and tasty. The chips, though, were about a 5. They weren't the greatest. Ketchup and mayo were good quality. Quite a small portion. The owner was very friendly.

The small chips is the size of a large one and they are delicious. The owner is extremely nice.

They take the proper rise here. Ordered sausage and chips & got dried up hard sausage and about 25 chips £5. Took them back and was told that's how it is. Keep your chips I'm off to Marlow road

Over priced and not great. Not worth it

Very clean and friendly environment. Visited for the first time last week. Excellent customer service. I ordered haddock and chips. The meal was cooked freshly upon ordering it. Nicely cooked and easily digested. The fried layer was very thin and plenty of tasty fish. Will be returning.

The best fish and chips in the area!!

My new favourite chipper in SE london. I've tried so many from dulwich, sydenham, catford, penge and this one is top notch. I'll keep coming back. Super fresh, chips are top drawer and nearly as good as back home.

I go here regularly for my Friday night chippy tea. The large cod and chips is so delicious and the portion size is enormous! Staff always friendly too and the place is sparkly clean.

Great chips and when you go in the shop, the smells of chips are so good that you will be even hungrier. Note, only cash accepted.

Really horrible chips, not made in raw state on the premises for sure, could taste dry white. Batter on fish not good. Paid, but not put through till, got change though, make of that as you will, I know my thoughts.

Great service and very friendly family run business. Ozzy (owner) recommended us chicken fillet burger with chips for dinner and he proud himself to make the best chicken fillet in the world. I have to say that it is 100% true, the chicken fillet was juicy and crispy and the chips well cooked. The shop was just about to close but he was very kind to prepare dinner for us. I'd recommend and definitely we will be back! Thanks Ozzy!

Very clean and well presented Blue Sea Fish Bar is very inviting which is further enhanced by a very friendly and courteous staff. There is also parking available in the area which adds to the experince of procuring possibly from one of the best fish and chips shop in the area and beyond. The quality of their food is absolutely tops in price, taste and quality and you will undoubtly be very pleased and return there again with your custom.

I ordered dinner for the family through Just Eat and was told 30 mins delivery which is fine. Then the time kept getting pushed back as they couldn't allocate a driver. Called Just Eat after an hour and they reluctantly agreed a refund while delivery kept getting pushed back. 90 mins for fish n chips is not good service

We ordered via Just Eat. They knocked on the delivery time by over and hour and would not provide just eat an update - they hung up and also the number left on Google had a cut phone line. Will never use these people again! What should have been a nice family treat has ended up with a hungry child who is up past bed time waiting for a dinner that was never arriving!

A great local fish and chip shop. The prices are reasonable (especially the special offer for large cod and chips) and the staff are friendly and service quick. The chips are especially good - a little crispy but just right. There's also regular special offers, usually lasting a week, that are worth a look.

Great place. They do the best chicken burger I've ever tasted. It's a proper chicken beast deep fried. Very good quality and for 5£ for Burger Chips and Can of drink cannot go wrong! Highly recommend this for other things too (fish, sausage, curry sauce) oh and the happy lady behind the till. The owner can seem a little unhappy but he's cool when you talk to him!

Lovely large Cod and Chips £6 - brilliant!

Be very careful of what you pay for BEFORE you leave this shop! I bought plaice and chips to take home last Friday night. I don't live local to this shop but was on my way home so stopped there instead of going to my regular local chippy. I am sorry I did. When I got home my husband opened up the package and commented the fish being extra big, but then asked how come it was so greasy (which is not the norm for us). When he cut into the fish we discovered the 'bigness' was litterally just alot of greasy batter! The fish inside was not even a quarter of the size of the batter. Basically I spent £6.89 for a plate of batter plus £2 for chips total = £8.89! I then had to admit that I hadn't bought the meal from our lovely chippy in Forest Hill. I carefully removed the minute piece of fish and we ate it with the chips. The batter was too greasy to eat anyway. I was quite upset about it and on principle brought the batter back to the shop to show them. The man 'who was so nice when I paid him £8.89' was suddenly not so and started snarling that I had no proof of the fish inside the batter being small because it was eaten. The fool even went to his freezer and brought out a box of frozen plaice to show me the sizes. I pointed out that 'a thawed fish' would not be the same size as a frozen piece. I then asked if he could prove to me that the fish was not cut in half before being fried in huge amounts of batter. He said NO. At this point I left him to continue making profits whilst ripping off trusting customers!

We do not eat take away often but if we fancy fish and chips we go to this venue. There is no parking just outside but you can usually find parking in the side road opposite. The place always seems to be kept clean and the fish and chips taste good. They do other meals chicken and chips etc, but we have not tried them so cannot comment. I like to reads the little comments / sayings that they have on the wall whilst waiting for them to cook fresh fish or chips.

The fish, chicken, and chips are tasty! Large fish and chips for £6 and 3 piece chicken and chips for £4 are a great value, and the portions are big!

Iv sampled a few fish and chips bars and restaurants over the years and this was right up there with the likes of "The brothers fish bar" and "Upney fish bar" which both are London award winners. The chips were 1st class, cooked fresh and cooked to perfection. Great friendly staff (even with my slightly impatient work colleague) highly recommended by myself

They close at 11.00pm, I went at 9.10pm. All they had to offer me was 2 battered sausages, 1 plain sausage and 1 fish cake, no chips. I said you are having a laugh, and walked out.

Every Friday for the last 2 years we have come for our fish and chips. Great quality. Cannot be beaten.

Proper chip shop chips large and not fried in ancient old oil so they taste of potato rather than rancid fat. Plus the fried chicken is as tasty as KFC

We had Fish and Chips from here and it was not very nice. It had been sitting round a bit too long and the batter was soggy and the fish tasted stale.

Fancied Fish 'n' chips tonight. The new fancier place on Beckenham Road was closed so we went here. It was amongst the best I have ever had, hot, fresh, crisp batter, perfectly cooked fish, classic chippy chips. Delicious.

The guy in the shop serving was excellent, he was very friendly and gave my son and I a chip each to taste. It was freshly cooked and was good. We took two cod an two chips away. When we arrived home and put in on the plate i could tell the fish and chips were not cooked freshly. The whole meal was so dry it was inedible. This was without doubt the worst fish and chips I've ever had - so much so I was prompted to make time to write this review. K

Have been eating cod and chips here for over 5 years and am rarely disappointed even during a busy Friday evening. The owner and his wife and family offer excellent service and the shop is super clean.
