Blue Orchid Little India in Central Bedfordshire

Food and service was great apart from the peace and tranquility being abruptly broken when a extremely large group of around 30 rowdy ppl came in not caring about any one else's night out .I could not even hear my self talking and feel the restauraunt could of moved us or kept the door between is closed . The group next to us was extremely loud all shout talking and in general seamed very rowdy and loud . .we was having a lively family birthday meal untill they came in and ruined it . Food was nice and staff where nice and its a lively place but that night was just not nice for ppl having to dine next to that large very loud group of ppl .

Went here for my friend’s birthday and was not disappointed, food was amazing and the staff were fabulous. Lovely seeing the place again as used to work there when it was The Bell all them years ago. Highly recommended 😀

We came to the Blue Orchid for the first time and had a wonderful experience! The food was amazing, drinks were flowing and the setting was beautiful. Highly recommend. Special mention to James, lovely host, kept us well entertained.

We visited the first week when lockdown was relaxed. Although a little chilly outside the food was fantastic , service excellent and the environment really safe - highly recommend .

Both the Thai and the Indian food is absolutely fantastic and cooked to perfection. They all always busy so do phone ahead and book. The staff are run off their feet but always seem to leave you feeling satisfied with their service. You will definitely leave this restaurant with a happy belly and a smile on your face!

The last time i was in this place was about 5 years ago and we had a superb Indian meal, this time we tried the Thai food and it was fantastic, so good we have booked to go back for my birthday in a weeks time. Cannot believe this gem of a place has been on my doorstep for all these years.

Just to be aware when it said on the website that it closes at 2.30. We've been there around 1.45 and a guy (not sure waiter or manager or owner) said kitchen already closed. Writing this review I only want to complain about this guy (there's another Thai girl, she's absolutely great to us) that as you are working in a service industry, there are plenty of ways to refuse customers and leave them with positive feeling if you didn't want them to come in as you will be closed soon. His face and the way he talked won't make me come back to this place ever again.

Restaurant is located in a very serene and attractive countryside location. We were then welcomed to such an oriental reception I've never experienced. The waiters were so amazing and calming. The delicious taste of the food knocked us off of our feets. Would definitely revisit and revisit over and over again. Met up with friends and enjoyed a Saturday evening here. Glad we booked as it was quite busy. You can choose to order from either the Thai or the Indian menu which is a great idea. Service was quick and efficient. I had dim sum for starter and chicken panang for my main which were both delicious. The bill came to £42 per head for the two courses with a couple of alcoholic drinks each. Lovely clean restaurant and highly attentive staff. We will definitely be back again soon.

Our daughter fancied some thai food for lunch today and found the Blue Orchid on line. We were very pleasantly surprised to find such a great restaurant. The food was outstanding - all freshly cooked and with amazing flavours. The menu was extensive with lots of indian and thai options. And all reasonably priced. The service was also very good - efficient and friendly. And the restaurant was beautifully decorated - I loved the elaborate mirror surround in the main room. This made the ambience authentically asian. We'll definitely be going back again.

Staying at the Best Western in Aspley Guise, we were reccomended the Blue Orchid by staff of the hotel. I am so glad they did! We were warmly greeted by a charming hostess, who after a short while, showed us to our table. The decor was very pleasant - not TOO over the top, but tasteful. The menus came quickly, as did the enquiry for drinks. You have a choice of Thai or Indian cuisine in the same restaurant, so the choice was amazing. Our group decided on Indian and we were not disappointed! All our choices on the menu proved to be exactly what we hoped they would be. The food was superbly presented and in large portions of very tasty fayre! My companions couldn't quite finish theirs, but I stuggled on as it was so good, I didn't want to waste any! The whole experience was most enjoyable and the only complaint that I have is that I don't live near enough to the restaurant to eat there regularly. To round things off nicely, the value was amazing, considering the quality, and the drinks were a sensible price, including the Indian beer that was on offer. All in all, I would have no hesitation in reccomending this place for a fine authentic meal - one of the top five Indian meals I have had! Enjoy!

A very interesting set up, one side of this place is Thai and the other is Indian, absolutely brilliant idea and done really well.

My boyfriend and I have been here several times now and it has quickly become our favourite restaurant in the milton keynes area. The food is absolutely amazing and the staff are wonderful - always so welcoming and friendly. Would thoroughly recommend to everyone!

Came here whilst visiting the safari park with friends. We went for the Thai menu (I didn't realise it was an Indian restaurant too). The starter was amazing, we had the mixed seafood platter. The soft shell crab was the best. All of our mains were also great and the wine too. The service was friendly and helpful and they even gave us free desserts to share as it was my friends birthday.

I pop in for lunch, on Monday. Nothing special, the soup with chicken OK the warm banana with coconut milk either. Pity it has a great atmosphere.

You can't fault this place imaculately clean service great.Food good and great value for money well worth a visit.

This restaurant is in Aspley Guise some distance from Milton Keynes and is a Thai restaurant. It is really important to know the exact location as it is well worth visiting

Fantastic restaurant 1st class service. Thank you, it was a very busy night but the service and food was excellent. We will be back again soon.

Cena para 4 con los compañeros de trabajo. Tardaron 20 minutos en llegar desde nuestro hotel en la parte trasera de una recomendación de otro colega. A ninguno de nosotros nos decepcionó especialmente porque no habíamos comido tailandés por mucho tiempo. Las entradas mixtas de excelente en términos de presentación y sabor; y lo más destacado de la red era el curry verde. Los aperitivos y platos principales para cuatro junto con 8 botellas de cerveza Tiger por 102 libras. Excelente en todos los aspectos! No dudaría en volver.

Always excellent food and service

Really authentic Thai food and unbelievably lovely, friendly staff. Our young kids absolutely love going there. Haven't tried the Indian food, but friend say its very good too. I'm not sure exactly why, but I'm normally put off by restaurants offering cuisine from two different countries, but the Blue Orchid remains a firm favourite.

The best restaurant for Thai and Indian food for miles around, 18 people in a group thought so. All Food is so fresh & tasty, well worth a visit again & again, staff really do look after you. Outstanding service all round. Thank for an enjoyable night out.

Since moving to the is area we have eaten at this tucked away Thai and Indian restaurant in Aspley Guise village. The staff are so friendly and the food is always superb.

We went to the Orchid last Friday and had a lovely meal. The staff were fantastic as always and the food superb! We have been coming here for years now and the place is still amazing!

Best Thai in MK! Can positively suggest their dumplings for starters and Massaman curry as a main, my standard whenever I go there! Staff is great. Well worth visiting the restaurant.

Often go to this little gem, choose Thai or Indian food, either are just great and the staff really make you feel welcome. Try it, you wont be disappointed, always leave with a smile :)

If has been 8yrs since we last came and it did not disappoint. The service has great, food was fresh and tasty and the price extremely reasonable. If you live Thai food then it's a must you won't be disappointed.

Good food but a little spicy for me , but my boyfriend enjoyed his dinner . Reasonable price , staff are nice , friendly , helpful and very attentive . The ambience was good and love the decor . The restaurant is nice , clean and tidy .

Have visited 3 times, all on Groupon/Amazon vouchers. Food is wonderful but over the 3 visits service has got worse. First visit and the lovely thai ladies made a wonderful welcome and excellent service but visit last night the service from the waiters was neither brilliant or bad just average. We were sat at a very cramped table, not even able to move my chair an inch and it took 2 hours for a two course meal. Not sure if you get better service if a full paying customer?

Just back from dinner at the Blue Orchid and has really brightened my stay in Milton Keynes. Thai food was really tasty and a good price. Colleagues commented that Indian was also very good and service was great. Will definitely be back !

I have visited the blue orchid before and always had a great experience. I had never sampled the indien food before so gave it a go when I saw a group on voucher. As soon as you enter you are made to feel very welcome and the place looks really great. My partner is allergic to garlic and it was no problem or bother for them to make it without. The lamb was very tender and melted in your mouth and the onion bhaji was crispy and not greasy at all. This place is defiantly worth a visit.

We have eaten here many times on visiting my daughter in Asplay Guise and have never had a poor response. We ate here on Saturday with my daughter and her young son having not pre-booked, but we were made very welcome. Our meals were excellent together with a couple of bottles of Shiraz (apple juice for the youngster!). Service was very accommodating.We would certainly wish to re-visit again when we are in the vaccinity. Highly Recommended indeed.

On arrival the door was opened for us and we were greeted as if we were VIPs. The staff and service were amazing and couldn't do enough to help us. Food was outstanding and we opted for one of the set menus, as it was my partner's first experience of Thai food, and thought this being the safest bet, as there was wide a selection.All the Mmmmmm's were a big hit and, we shall be returning. As this was a first for the Thai experience the rest now have a lot to live up too

We ate here on a Sat evening having not booked in advance. A smaller annexe to Blue Orchid out the back so more cosy but not cramped. Food was delicious and staff happy to adjust recipe to alter spiciness.
