Blue Boar Bar in City of London, Westminster

As a regular guest and diamond member of Hilton and Conrad, I make this hotel my lodging and food experience every time I stay in London. In addition I use with my family on many occasions the Blue-Boar pub, and it never disappoints, as an ex managing director of quality hotels over the past 40 years, I know how circumstances can change with regards quality and service, but this establishment always delivers, in addition it is the hidden heroes that quietly deliver their craft, one particular team member truly stands out on every occasion is ”Wafa” Her warm personality, her professional touch, are more importantly her desire to deliver the best service certainly gets noticed, She is a ambassador for this establishment, and a credit to the industry. I have high recommendation not only for this pub but the service personnel. Thank you for always exceeded expectations. Thomas Noblett

Great team, visited on a Saturday when everything was rammed and the service was great. If you are visiting Westminster stop here for lunch.

Very nice place to eat near Westminster Abbey, Parliament, etc. Food was quite tasty, and cozy atmosphere for a couple pints of beer. Very much enjoyed my fish and chips. Service was outstanding (many people helped take care of us but Heena was our primary server). It was just a very lovely time for everyone.

Excellent food in a cozy and charming atmosphere. Location is very conveniently located to a lot of sightseeing musts. Our waitress Riana was very inviting and made our experience worth the visit!

Everyone was very nice and welcoming. I normally don’t leave reviews and when I intend to I usually forget by the time I get to a computer. Bartender Wayne was top notch and well deserving of a shout out. He had great recommendations and mixed a hell of a drink. Get the fish and chips, best I’ve ever had.

Enjoyed a delightful lunch today. Bonnie greeted us and made us feel welcomed. Perfect start! She assisted as in our drink orders and food selections. Food was perfectly prepared and nicely presented on the plates. This was a wonderful, relaxed paced experience thanks to Bonnie and the kitchen team.

The wife and I enjoyed the food, drinks, and live music on night of our arrival into London. We had such a good time that we decided to come back for our last night. The place was busy so we sat at the bar. Our bartender Wayne was one awesome dude. We had great conversations and the food was 👌🏾. You gotta try the fish and chips. Wayne even served up his signature drink called “Da Wayne” its a mashup between a manhattan and old fashioned. Hella good 👍🏽 Chill vibes. Good food. Great bartender.

Wayne was a class act at the bar - good old fashioned bartending, as it should be. Highly recommend his signature Boulevardier cocktail. Will definitely be back!

We had a wonderful dinner at the Blue Boar Pub tonight. Annie provided wonderful service and we had a fantastic leisurely meal. The scotch egg, sausage roll and cod were not to be missed!

Excellent food, live music and warm atmosphere. The staff in general are have been exceptional, and we had a truly outstanding server experience this evening with Riarna.

We had lunch at the Blue Boar on our London trip and everything about the experience was top notch. Our food and drinks were lovely and there was very little wait. This review is as much about hosts Kate and Peter at the Conrad London St. James of which this restaurant is a part. While the cuisine ordered at the Blue Boar was first rate, greater superlatives can be made for these two hotel hosts as well as other hotel staff that are too numerous to mention by name. The Blue Boar and the Conrad London work together as a whole to provide a truly world class experience.

Great food. Nicely place to sit and eat. Service on entry was amazing … wait staff not so great. We asked for a spirit & drink but they put on our table as a glass of ice, no spirit, and a bottle of coke. When we pointed out that there was no spirit in the glass she said she would get it. 12 minutes later the ice had melted and she still hadn’t brought the spirit. We asked again. Waited. Waited. Finally we went to the bar ourselves. Since the ice was melted we had to suggest the bar man taste it to know it had no spirits. He was happy to fix. But then we had another waiter come to our table lecturing us that we should not go to the bar because they were still making our drinks (this is 30mins later now btw) and we confused them by going up. Who does that!!??

Very classic and elevated place. Perfectly located between main attractions. Food and service were exceptional. Tyrell took care of our big table and we were extremely satisfied with his dedication to our table. Highly recommended for a traditional Fish and Chips experience

I visited this spot later in my night, and got a few pints. The atmosphere was nice. It felt upscale while still affordable. My bartender Mark was a very friendly young man. Helping me feel at home in the strange city of London.

Phenomenal meal! We sat by the window and enjoyed a truly memorable experience. The service was excellent from start to finish, and the cocktails were some of the best we’ve ever had—expertly hand-shaken with care by Wayne, one of the talented bartenders. The ambiance was warm and inviting, the food was exceptional, and the entire evening felt special. We’ll definitely be returning. Wayne was absolutely fantastic. From the moment we sat down, he took the time to introduce himself and offered us the choice of a “dry, sweet, or perfect” Manhattan—an option only a true master bartender would think to present. We genuinely appreciated the personal touch and expertise. Needless to say, the “perfect” Manhattan he crafted was exactly that—perfect. So much so, we couldn’t resist ordering a second. Thank you, Wayne, for your exceptional service and for taking such great care with our craft cocktails!

Supperb service from Annie (she was realle hot). We had also a good time with the chinese guy. He was cute.

We sat at the bar and had the garlic fried squid and drinks while we planned our next moves in the city. The squid was amazing and the drinks and conversation with Wayne made it all the better! We couldn’t recommend it enough and will be back next time we are in town!

Jay and Luis if you get the opportunity to have them serve you will make the experience worth while. Both were very experienced and attentive, they had fantastic food recommendations. The food was a highlight but if you get the opportunity to sit at the bar with these two gentleman I highly recommend it. If you want a great food and bar experience in London come to Blue Boar Pub!

Jay and Luis will blow your socks off they are very attentive and extremely sociable. They not only are just fantastic mixologists, they keep you engaged especially while sitting at the bar. The food was amazing as well but the bar experience set the tone. Coming from America they made us very comfortable and the whole experience was elevated from that. I would highly recommend the Black Boar Pub!

Jay and Luis were beyond expectations. The food was amazing but the drinks will blow your mind. Both are talented mixologists every drink was great. We are from America and they mad the entire experience very comforting. I would highly recommend the Blue Boar Pub!

Average pub, very large and well furnished with the right compromise between tradition and modernity. Some tables are not exactly the best in comfort, with sofas too low and soft for eating, but certainly very relaxing. The service is average, the waiting times are fair. Prices in line with tourist pubs, therefore a hair above average. All in all a good place to eat a traditional revisited with the right portions and a decent quality, quantity and price ratio. For Italians, be careful that there is no cover charge, but a percentage service charge, on low figures nothing changes, but if there are 5 or 6 of you it starts to have an impact.

Had such a wonderful time at Blue Boar. Mark the barman was so knowledgeable and enthusiastic, helped guide me through the wine list and even offered amazing options for pairing with the food. He was super friendly and really made the experience extra special.

Coming out of the madness of Westminster, the Blue Boar was the perfect rest stop. It’s a relaxed and well-appointed location with polite and attentive staff. I loved the fish and chips and the pale ale was very good.

I was in London for only 23 hours. I wanted to take in as much as possible. Which included a British pub, a pint, and fish and chips. Tyrell and the rest of the team brought it and delivered on all my expectations! The food, service, beer, and atmosphere were great. A hidden gem near Westminster Abbey! We had a late lunch around 3 PM and were warmly welcomed by Bonnie, the hostess. The vibe is effortlessly cool with sleek leather seating and a relaxed atmosphere. The food was outstanding—every dish was delicious—and the service was attentive without being intrusive. Perfect spot for couples seeking great food and good energy in the heart of London.

Incredible food and cocktails. Wayne prepared us the best Margarita and agreed with us that their Fish and Ships were amazing!! Food is to die for and cocktails are the best in town!! It’s just become my favorite pub in London! We’ve been there 3 days and can’t wait to come back to find the same people and food!

Really overpriced for pretty average food. I had high hopes because the menu sounded like fantastic pub fare and it looked as though it would be executed to a high standard. But truly, it’s was incredibly mediocre. Underwhelming steak and chips and a curry that my friend had to send back because it was so flavourless. And the prices are astronomical. Staff are really friendly and attentive though.

We had a fantastic experience at the Blue Boar Pub, and much of that was thanks to Wayne, who went above and beyond to make our evening memorable. He was friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming from the moment we sat down. His professionalism and great sense of humor made us feel right at home — and turned what could’ve been just another meal into one of the highlights of our trip. Very creative dishes. The snacks and starters sounded so interesting that I decided to skip the main course. Indeed, the scotch egg was different from any I’ve had before. Another star was the roasted bone marrow. Actually it was not only about bone marrow. The pickled anchovies and the rest were equal partners in this dish, which made it very balanced and much lighter than the bone marrow dishes I’ve previously had. One tip: to retrieve the marrow from the bone I used the handle of the small fork served with the dish. Neither the fork itself, nor the tip of the knife are small enough to reach deep into the bone.

I had a great time during my visit, amazing food very tasty- I really enjoyed the cod and chips and my partner loved his chicken pie. Great service from everyone, in particular James who was our attentive waiter and also Wayne who was the bartender- he was very friendly and professional, we loved the drinks. I am particularly fussy with my drinks as I don't like them to be too strong and Wayne made them perfectly for me. I did not have to send any back for adjustments as he listened to my requests. I will return soon!

Everything was perfect at the Blue Boar Pub when we had lunch there: the menu which had been changed the day before offered tasty and beautifully accompanied trout (a treat!); the place, warm, bright and very comfortable, notably with soft leather armchairs and thick carpet, and, finally, the attentive and cordial welcome from Wafa. An address not to be missed for a stay in London!

The staff was fantastic, especially in guiding our choices for the drinks. That was genuinely pleasant because they sensed we were visiting, and we felt pampered. Wayne provided us with incredible service. He was personable, welcoming and accommodating. This has been the best pub experience we’ve had so far in London and most others have not been inviting at all. We had a birthday lunch celebration for my nieces birthday. St. James’s Park Station nearly so easy to get to. We have a cross-section of dishes including the Fish and Chips, Pork and Beef. All choices were well it but the highlight was the Apple Crumble dessert. As a family we all love Apple Crumble with Custard/Ice Cream. I have to say, without question…the best Apple Crumble we’ve tasted in a restaurant. Also, the service was great. Well done Blue Boar. We will return 👏👏👏
