Meeting a dear friend for festive 🎄 cheer at the Blue Boar this evening was such a great idea!! Great atmosphere, close to the Tube (St James), with very tasty meals was the perfect start to the season! We especially enjoyed the wonderful interaction of a waitress called Priscilla who’s humour and good nature made the evening that much better. Thank you to all for such a great night!

Lovely and spacious, despite being very busy the service was excellent. Tend to go out to pubs a lot and this one will be on the list when in the St James, Victoria vicinity.

After a confusion with a special booking, Matthew one of the managers, pulled out all the stops to make our Sunday lunch booking, for Rita's birthday, something very special. Highly recommend, delicious food, lovely service (especially one lady whose name I didn't get) and fabulous wine.

Food was excellent. Had Turkey dinner special and everything was fresh and tasty, one of the best turkey dinners we ever ate.

Nice looking place, hasn't booked so didn't have food but had a drink at the bar. Only off-putting thing was the attitude of the owner / maitre d' who chose to reprimand one of the staff unnecessarily and in a toxic way. The member of staff was serving at the bar and had only remarked that it had been a long day, showing humanity and understanding. Why the maitre d' decided to be offensive I don't understand - the member of staff subsequently apologised to us, but that was unnecessary. The result was that we chose to move elsewhere and probably would never go back, on account of the maitre d'. I think they were trying to be professional, instead they were just toxic and undermined any business they might have attracted.

Unbelievably slow service. Took almost 2 hours to get lunch and 30+ minutes to get a drink only after asking multiple staff members. Food was okay. Nice atmosphere but I would look elsewhere.

It's a hotel pub in a high-value tourist area, so you expect prices to be high. But £27 for fish and (not very good) chips in a pub is a joke.

The venue and atmosphere here was lovely, although the crumble wasn't quite as nice as I expected. More Apples than crumble ☹️

Incredible location and a wonderful way to experience what London has to offer in terms of food, hospitality, and architectural charm. I just wish the food were a bit more salted. Everything required a bit of additional salt to bring out its maximum flavor. But I suppose everything in England is a bit on the under salted side.

Absolutely incredible experience at Blue Boar. We had the Sunday roast and it was perfect. The service was brilliant and we can’t thank the team enough for taking such great care of us. Wafa waited our table and we were blown away with the genuine care and impeccable service from her. We can’t recommend Blue Boar and the team enough!

A thoroughly great night with 13 work colleagues. Monzur was an exceptional waiter; absolutely first class. A rare talent of making us all feel really welcome while still getting the job done quickly, professionally and with great warmth. I returned the next night with a smaller group because Monzur had made it such a pleasant experience. He was exceptional again. Fantastic! Thank you Monzur.

The food was great, large servings! Our waitress, Annie was fabulous, very kind, friendly and quick to please. A wonderful lunch for we 2 Americans! The Espresso Martini was especially excellent.

Very good house beer. We only ordered drinks here, so I can’t rate the food. It’s a bit of a posh Pub, so it is on the pricier side.

Fish and chips was great. No grease, flavorful and tender cod. Husband had boar sausages with mash potatoes. Sausages were spiced subtly but extremely tasty with a light gravy that only enhanced the boar. Above all our server, Wafa was friendly, helpful, welcoming and efficient. We are visiting from the States. If we make it back to London we will return!

If you're in central London, this is a great pub for dinner and / or just drinks. Upon the recommendation of our concierge at the St. Ermin's Hotel (see separate review), we went there for dinner the second to last night we were in London. Louis was our bartender and between the food, conversation, and atmosphere, we went back again our very last night (Louis was working again). my GF had a "pornstar martini" and if you like sweet, fruity cocktails, get this! I had the Hawkstone beer and a cider under the same name. VERY good. The desserts were equally as amazing (hey we were on holiday so what the heck?! :) What I particularly liked about it was that many popular pubs are so busy that there are crowds outside the door which is great but it felt like they were too crowded. Here, we walked right in, and were seated immediately at the bar. There were also tables available had we chosen them. DEFINITELY a must go to place if you're looking for traditional British food and amazing drinks.

We were looking for a typical London pub experience and ended up here. The atmosphere was bright and modern with numerous items of political satire throughout. We ordered the fish and chips. The food came out in a reasonable amount of time and was fine but not anything special. The drinks were average. Our servers were very friendly and polite.

Tyrell was a very friendly and welcoming waiter indeed and really looked after us! Very nice chap, thank you. Front of house also greeted us with warmth and smiles - fabulous all round! Good drinks menu; house lager good quality, but our food wasn't great. Cooked well but nothing special. Nice atmosphere and very comfy seating.

I had a really good experience at The blue boar Livia, Louis and Pricilla were amazing, quick service, very good ambiance and very polite staff. Definitely visit again.

I was here for drinks with my wife and had a great time. The staff were incredibly courteous, Louis and Zainab were amazing. The drink selection was great, with a range of options. The service was excellent throughout. I would highly recommend anyone around to give it a go.

First time visit this week and goijg back. Underrated classy restaurant. Value for money is up there with the best I have visited in london. Great for families, business meetings or a couple wanting something relaxed and enjoyable. Menu is well priced, wine by the glass or bottle is also well priced. Staff are the cherry on the top.

The food was delicious, service excellent, Sebastian (manager) is a really hard working guy, he always finds the time to interact with the guests! Very professional and devoted to what he is doing! We visited the place three times and never been disappointed, the Sunday roast was awesome!

Roza was a great waitress! She gave sound advice about the menu, drinks, and even nearby landmarks. She made sure my husband I were taken care of while at the restaurant and during our first time visit to London. Her recommendations were spot on and we loved the food and drinks we got! The environment is spacious and comfortable. The large pieces of meat in the sandwich are very flavorful and delicious! The soup with two puffs is so good, it has endless aftertaste!

We ordered 2 lamb dishes in barley jus with 2 sides. Much to our disappointment, half of my lamb shoulder steak had fat on it, esp underneath, which cost £24 each. We were really hungry so we ate it.The waitor asked how the meal was, and I didn't hold back. I showed him the fat, the barley jus was bland so we left it. He compensated us for 1 meal which was kind of him. We asked for a rum old Fashioned with Ron zapacca. Original price was £13.50 with Johnnie Walker but to substitute it, it was £26 per drink. We don't think they substituted the Johnnie Walker, they must have added the price on top of the original price. We found it overpriced for what it was, so we ordered the original old fashioned. Service was attentive, but we won't be returning.

Well looked after place. Qualified and friendly staff who take care of the customer's needs (allergies, intolerances, etc.). The girl at the entrance, Bonnie, was very welcoming.

Diabolical service. Indifferent bar staff and very rude and arrogant bar manageress. They then try to charge an automatic 12.5% gratuity for their “service”. Give this one a pass - there’s plenty of nicer establishments nearby.

Priscilla was absolutely lovely! Service was better than expected and the food was ravishing. We had Sunday roast beef, Sunday pork roast, lamb shoulder, pasty and potato soup. All of us thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Highly recommend! 🥂

It was good, but the tip isn’t “discretionary” when they automatically add it (12.5%).

We loved everything about this eatery. The food was excellent, created we were informed, by an aspiring Michelin chef. The service was superb, and we were graciously accommodated when a late arrival schedule brought us in close to closing time. We returned to have dinner there several times during our London visit and will go again on a future trip in November 2024. A special thank you to wait staff members Csilla, Mark, Wafa, Sarai, and Monzur. Your welcoming and professional service added to a lovely dining experience each time.

We ate at the Blue Boar while visiting London from the USA. The food and drinks were great but the best part was our server Priscila. She was such a delight. One of our party ordered some ice tea. When Priscila served it he commented “that’s not bad.” She looked a little concerned. When she returned the wife of the tea drinker said, “He is an iced tea connoisseur. ‘Not bad’ is indeed high praise!” Priscila said, “well you might have lead with that comment.” And we all laughed. The rest of the evening was filled with good natured jokes and laughter. If you go be sure to ask for Priscila.

Stopped by for a draft Hawkstone Lager, a beer I have been trying to find for months. The staff here were amazing and they have multiple Hawkstone drinks to offer. Sebastian and Louis were both extremely friendly and made my visit very comfortable. I will be back!

Family of 5 waited for 15 minutes and tried to get someone’s attention. Wait staff acts like you’re a nuisance for coming in. We just ended up leaving. No one cared then either.

We didn't eat anything but we did drink a Guinness. Atmosphere was cozy and formal. Helped by a very nice lady who managed to convey her enthusiasm well. The toilets were very chic. Nice tent!

We decided to give Blue Boar a try and were very disappointed. A traditional British Pub, Blue Boar is not. The atmosphere is very contemporary, much like you’d find in any posh restaurant. We were seated right away, and the comfortable chairs were welcoming after a day walking London. Unfortunately, the service was very slow, we began to wonder if we were supposed to order at the bar. While waiting I heard the manager, who was on the customer’s side of the bar, instructing his bartenders that the till was short the night before. They didn’t look all too happy. As he left for the evening, he thanked them for their work. Finally, a waitress came to our table. She was polite enough, but not engaging. The food was delicious. The prices what you’d expect to pay in London, certainly reasonable. The wait for our check was long.

Great sunday roast! The meat was tender and soft. Nice flakey Yorkshire pudding. However, I was a bit surprised by the additional service fee and included tip, especially since we only saw the server once while she picked up or ordered. Haven't come at our table during or after the dinner.

A little fancier but worth it. The waitresses are all very friendly and the food tastes good too :) Later in the evening a live musician came along and created some atmosphere. Everything is very clean, I can't complain. The only thing would be that it is a bit warm at the windows at the front of the restaurant/bar. But it's nice and cool in the back

I had the honor to visit England for a dear friend's wedding. I took advantage of touring London, and wanted to experience food in a pub. I wanted to be basic and try their beautiful fish and chips. Unfortunately, it took a long time to be acknowledged and seated. I asked my waiter how long good would take to prepare a fish and chips order since I wanted to make sure I had enough time to walk back to the coach to catch my bus back to Birmingham. I was told not long and they can put a rush out on my order. My order took over 30 minutes, which only gave me 15 minutes to eat (since it took 10-15 minutes to be acknowledged and then seated). I asked for a to-go box and I was told they do not allow their food to go outside the restaurant. I ate what I could, which was wonderful. I just was bummed it took longer than what I was promised. Still a wonderful place visually.

Wow-We went to the Blue Boar for lunch today on our anniversary trip to London and our dining experience was excellent. The very best part was our server, Tyrell! He made our day our day extra special! If you go, ask for him. You will not be sorry!

Perfect stop on your way to Buckingham. Louis was a great bartender and we’ll definitely be back. Try the Bloody Mary if you love spicy, the espresso martini was real espresso too, not flavoring. One of the better places I’ve been in London. (Amazing bathrooms too)

The food was so delicious! The inside of the pub is very well cleaned and I like the feature of the towels in the toilets. Finally, we only had to wait 15 minutes for food. Exquisite!

While being very well located, this typical English establishment offers deliciously prepared traditional food. The fish'n'chips is a killer. However, the highlight of this lunch was the amazing service. Wafa and her colleagues made this experience truly amazing.

This was such an incredible experience! Priscila was the nicest and most kind person. She suggested the Sunday Roast, and it truly was the perfect meal on my 17th and final day of Holiday! My husband and I stopped here for a mid day snack and had a very pleasant meal. We ordered the fish and chips and it was massive! Def enough for us two. Drinks were also delicious and very fairly priced, especially for the area. Priscilla was kind and attentive, brought everything we needed and we didn’t need to ask for anything. This is a great stop for food or drinks in a very convenient location.
