First time visit this week and goijg back. Underrated classy restaurant. Value for money is up there with the best I have visited in london. Great for families, business meetings or a couple wanting something relaxed and enjoyable. Menu is well priced, wine by the glass or bottle is also well priced. Staff are the cherry on the top.

Roza was a great waitress! She gave sound advice about the menu, drinks, and even nearby landmarks. She made sure my husband I were taken care of while at the restaurant and during our first time visit to London. Her recommendations were spot on and we loved the food and drinks we got! Would highly recommend visiting this pub and getting served by her again.

The environment is spacious and comfortable. The large pieces of meat in the sandwich are very flavorful and delicious! The soup with two puffs is so good, it has endless aftertaste!

We ordered 2 lamb dishes in barley jus with 2 sides. Much to our disappointment, half of my lamb shoulder steak had fat on it, esp underneath, which cost £24 each. We were really hungry so we ate it.The waitor asked how the meal was, and I didn't hold back. I showed him the fat, the barley jus was bland so we left it. He compensated us for 1 meal which was kind of him. We asked for a rum old Fashioned with Ron zapacca. Original price was £13.50 with Johnnie Walker but to substitute it, it was £26 per drink. We don't think they substituted the Johnnie Walker, they must have added the price on top of the original price. We found it overpriced for what it was, so we ordered the original old fashioned. Service was attentive, but we won't be returning.

Well looked after place. Qualified and friendly staff who take care of the customer's needs (allergies, intolerances, etc.). The girl at the entrance, Bonnie, was very welcoming.

Diabolical service. Indifferent bar staff and very rude and arrogant bar manageress. They then try to charge an automatic 12.5% gratuity for their “service”. Give this one a pass - there’s plenty of nicer establishments nearby.

Priscilla was absolutely lovely! Service was better than expected and the food was ravishing. We had Sunday roast beef, Sunday pork roast, lamb shoulder, pasty and potato soup. All of us thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Highly recommend! 🥂

It was good, but the tip isn’t “discretionary” when they automatically add it (12.5%).

We loved everything about this eatery. The food was excellent, created we were informed, by an aspiring Michelin chef. The service was superb, and we were graciously accommodated when a late arrival schedule brought us in close to closing time. We returned to have dinner there several times during our London visit and will go again on a future trip in November 2024. A special thank you to wait staff members Csilla, Mark, Wafa, Sarai, and Monzur. Your welcoming and professional service added to a lovely dining experience each time.

Love this place! Nice atmosphere with music and some live music some nights as well. Food had good presentation and taste as good or better than it looked. Friendly and knowledgeable bartenders. It's a must if you are in the area!

Stopped by for a draft Hawkstone Lager, a beer I have been trying to find for months. The staff here were amazing and they have multiple Hawkstone drinks to offer. Sebastian and Louis were both extremely friendly and made my visit very comfortable. I will be back!

I love this bar. My go to when near Westminster

We ate at the Blue Boar while visiting London from the USA. The food and drinks were great but the best part was our server Priscila. She was such a delight. One of our party ordered some ice tea. When Priscila served it he commented “that’s not bad.” She looked a little concerned. When she returned the wife of the tea drinker said, “He is an iced tea connoisseur. ‘Not bad’ is indeed high praise!” Priscila said, “well you might have lead with that comment.” And we all laughed. The rest of the evening was filled with good natured jokes and laughter. If you go be sure to ask for Priscila.

Family of 5 waited for 15 minutes and tried to get someone’s attention. Wait staff acts like you’re a nuisance for coming in. We just ended up leaving. No one cared then either.

We had a great Sunday dinner with friends and family. Priscilla was wonderful. Funny and witty. The food was fantastic.

We didn't eat anything but we did drink a Guinness. Atmosphere was cozy and formal. Helped by a very nice lady who managed to convey her enthusiasm well. The toilets were very chic. Nice tent!

We have eaten at Blue Boar rice in as many days. Great food and dining experience. Tyrell was very helpful and give us great service and local highlights. You will enjoy the quiet experience along with a great meal. I would highly recommend eating here.

We decided to give Blue Boar a try and were very disappointed. A traditional British Pub, Blue Boar is not. The atmosphere is very contemporary, much like you’d find in any posh restaurant. We were seated right away, and the comfortable chairs were welcoming after a day walking London. Unfortunately, the service was very slow, we began to wonder if we were supposed to order at the bar. While waiting I heard the manager, who was on the customer’s side of the bar, instructing his bartenders that the till was short the night before. They didn’t look all too happy. As he left for the evening, he thanked them for their work. Finally, a waitress came to our table. She was polite enough, but not engaging. The food was delicious. The prices what you’d expect to pay in London, certainly reasonable. The wait for our check was long.

Great sunday roast! The meat was tender and soft. Nice flakey Yorkshire pudding. However, I was a bit surprised by the additional service fee and included tip, especially since we only saw the server once while she picked up or ordered. Haven't come at our table during or after the dinner.

A little fancier but worth it. The waitresses are all very friendly and the food tastes good too :) Later in the evening a live musician came along and created some atmosphere. Everything is very clean, I can't complain. The only thing would be that it is a bit warm at the windows at the front of the restaurant/bar. But it's nice and cool in the back

I had the honor to visit England for a dear friend's wedding. I took advantage of touring London, and wanted to experience food in a pub. I wanted to be basic and try their beautiful fish and chips. Unfortunately, it took a long time to be acknowledged and seated. I asked my waiter how long good would take to prepare a fish and chips order since I wanted to make sure I had enough time to walk back to the coach to catch my bus back to Birmingham. I was told not long and they can put a rush out on my order. My order took over 30 minutes, which only gave me 15 minutes to eat (since it took 10-15 minutes to be acknowledged and then seated). I asked for a to-go box and I was told they do not allow their food to go outside the restaurant. I ate what I could, which was wonderful. I just was bummed it took longer than what I was promised. Still a wonderful place visually.

It is a lovely place to have a bite and a drink. If you are lucky enough to get Yarvoney he will take great care of you

Perfect stop on your way to Buckingham. Louis was a great bartender and we’ll definitely be back. Try the Bloody Mary if you love spicy, the espresso martini was real espresso too, not flavoring. One of the better places I’ve been in London. (Amazing bathrooms too)

Wow-We went to the Blue Boar for lunch today on our anniversary trip to London and our dining experience was excellent. The very best part was our server, Tyrell! He made our day our day extra special! If you go, ask for him. You will not be sorry!

The food was so delicious! The inside of the pub is very well cleaned and I like the feature of the towels in the toilets. Finally, we only had to wait 15 minutes for food. Exquisite!

While being very well located, this typical English establishment offers deliciously prepared traditional food. The fish'n'chips is a killer. However, the highlight of this lunch was the amazing service. Wafa and her colleagues made this experience truly amazing.

This was such an incredible experience! Priscila was the nicest and most kind person. She suggested the Sunday Roast, and it truly was the perfect meal on my 17th and final day of Holiday! I am so happy I came here. And the people as we walked in were beyond welcoming and kind as well. Fantastic and Bravo!

My husband and I stopped here for a mid day snack and had a very pleasant meal. We ordered the fish and chips and it was massive! Def enough for us two. Drinks were also delicious and very fairly priced, especially for the area. Priscilla was kind and attentive, brought everything we needed and we didn’t need to ask for anything. This is a great stop for food or drinks in a very convenient location.

We visited London from Texas and had dinner here twice. The atmosphere was lovely, the food was delicious and the service was outstanding. Roza made us feel right at home and provided good recommendations.

We Peeked into the window of the Blue Boar Pub to look at the bourbon selection. They had Buffalo Trace, Bulleit, Makers Mark and Angle’s Envy so we decided to stop in. We knew they had good bourbon what we didn’t know is they had great bartenders too! We are very picky about our Old Fashions and the crew there nailed it! Not only great drinks, but we had fun, we laughed and we made sure we came back! Stop in, the two times we were there we had the best bartenders including Savai, Mark, Stefano and Giovanni! Our long trip had a bookend stop in London and the atmosphere and people brought us back!!

Service and atmosphere lovely in central location

This place is such a vibe. From the time you enter till you leave everyone is extremely welcoming and kind. The fancily named fish and chips is delicious and light and flaky and the crust is airy, not too dense or heavy. The two very British men next to me were raving about the burger as well as the fish and chips, so I don’t think you can go wrong with either option. The Hugo spritz hit the spot too. This was my first stop upon landing in London and it was great choice. 🥰

We visited this charming pub tonight, on a rainy July evening. The ambiance was delightful, enhanced by the mesmerizing live music. The food, was very tasty. However, one unfortunate member of our group felt unwell afterwards. Now, we don't mean to insinuate that the food was the cause, but if that were the case, it could possibly be attributed to the fried fish, as per our doctor's opinion. Nonetheless, we must commend the incredible staff for their swift response to the situation. In particular, Rosa who expressed exceptional kindness and assistance. Despite the unexpected incident, we are undeterred and eagerly look forward to returning once more, drawn by the pub's enchanting charm.

The manager of this shop is extremely poor. First of all, his attitude when greeting us was not good. Secondly, he assumed we didn't understand English and couldn't understand what he was saying. When we were checking out, he instructed his staff to charge us a £25 service fee, which is far more than 20% of our bill. Additionally, he added £34 in taxes. This means we ended up paying almost £60 in unjustified extra charges on top of our normal meal cost. This shop has terrible credibility. I will never recommend it to anyone I know. I will also post about this on all my social media platforms to warn others not to go to this shop.

Great place, great service, helpful staff. Highly recommend making a reservation though. We got lucky and found a place to sit at the bar but we saw several people turned away after who also didn't have a reservation.

Good meal but election night coverage could have been better. We booked a table to be in the centre of Westminster during what turned out to be a very big night for British politics. What I expected was the build up to the 10pm exit polls. I asked for a view of the tv for this. Was expecting the tv to be on though. We left just before the results(along with others). After we got home found an email from just before saying results would not be shown. Great meal though but a shame you could not have told us before so we could have planned differently

Very poor experience, service was awful, slow, brought out the wrong food and didn’t apologise or communicate with us at all. Very disappointing. Also, very few vegetarian options.

What a beautiful place to visit very nice surroundings and beautiful added touches like hand towels and toiletries in the toilets I would say improvements are needed on service seemed to take along time to get served even though there were plenty of staff, I appreciate it's busy and there were some big orders but deffinatly could improve on length of time waited but other than that great place to meet with friends and family for a drink and food.

Great mix of British classics and cozy atmosphere makes it a great spot for casual meals. ⭕️ Pan Fried Chalk Stream Trout - Well-cooked piece of trout served with yellow courgettes. The trout is tender and flavourful. ⭕️ Blue Boar Club - This club sandwich is a solid choice for a satisfying meal. Combines crispy bacon, tender chicken, and rich garlic mayo between toasted bread. The skin-on fries are crispy and well-seasoned.

My mom took me here for my birthday. A wonderful dinner and very friendly staff. However, what made this 5 star was out waitress Roza. She was so friendly and accommodating. My mom had mentioned we were there for my birthday and she surprised me with a wonderful end of meal birthday sweet treat. Made my day special. Thank you for the extra service and attention Roza!!

Beautiful pub. The booking service was very efficient and the person who found us a table for 3 was kind even though I had made a mistake in making the reservation for only 2 people. The environment is very nice, the bathrooms very clean, however we were served burnt burgers. we ate because we were hungry and a lot was left on the plate. We would have expected them to ask us why we didn't like it. But it wasn't done. I suggest having your food checked before serving!

We ate here as we were staying at Conrad but it turned out to be a poor choice. Our mains took around 30mins to be served, the food tasted really salty especially the mushy peas and trout. The kids ham and cheese toastie also tasted charred and burnt. Then we ordered the desserts but after another excruciatingly long wait of 30mins we decided to cancel as it was already close to 9pm and our kids were going to fall asleep. Either the patrons here have too much time to kill or are likely looking for a place with nice drinks rather than food. Therefore if you fall into these 2 categories, this place may work for you.

Booked table for dinner but got assigned to a drink table. We had to ask them to move us to proper dining table eventually. We had a nice and friendly waiter who took our order. Unfortunately, the service went downhill afterwards. It took over half hour for our food to arrive. Scotch Eggs were ok. Dirty Burger the meat was overcooked, Pork Belly was a bit tough and it’s very small in portion. Panna Cotta was probably the only dish that we enjoyed. Almost £50 per person with slow service and mediocre food, don’t think we will go back.

Very busy night but staff were super helpful in finding us a table as quickly as possible. The salmon pie and steak and ale pie were delicious and a memorable culinary experience, the beers were also top notch!

Came in for the Hawkstone, service was slow, bill added on a £2.50 service charge for 3 pints which is ridiculous. Would not race back here, only came for the Hawkstone. Did not try the food. My main issue was the slow service on drinks! This is very mucb a restauraunt do not bother going for drinks try elsewhere!

Visited on 14/06/24, no booking required. Friendly service, and great food. Best fish and chips I've had in a long time. It is expensive though. £80 for the two of us. London prices are one thing but ouch! Worth it as a treat though.

We had a wonderful Sunday roast here. Traditional roast beef, Yorkshire pudding and all the trimmings. Quite delicious.

We were a large table, but a lot of the food was cold. Fish and chips: chips were fine, fish batter was quite stodgy and mushy peas were tasteless. Roast beef: the beef was nicely cooked but the Yorkshire pudding was very dry and the roast potatoes pale, not crispy and quite greasy.

Stopped in for a few drinks with friends after the kitchen closed, so I can't provide feedback on their food options. That said, we enjoyed the warm, laid-back atmosphere. The wine and beer selection was nice, and the service was good.
