Blue Bay Fish & Chips in Bracknell Forest

Absolutely useless. I write this review, some 25mins into my wait. I came in, asked for a fairly mundane order, which you'd expect a reasonable Fish & Chip shop to be able to handle in 5/10 mins max. Oh no, this is no reasonable Fish & Chip shop... This is below par, the staff are downright rude and dismissed my questions when asking how much longer it's likely to take? Do yourself a favour and don't waste your time. I wish I'd read the reviews before I ordered.

Ordered fish and chips last night as returning from holiday and hadn't been shopping .Portions you get are huge myself and hubby actually share a large cod and chips .Didn't have to wait long all hot but have no idea what sort of batter they are using for the cod .Was not the normal batter you get on cod really thick just wasn't right .Such a shame as the meal and portion size was lovely .Hubby actually took all the batter off as he couldn't eat it .

Lovely fish and chips if it not closed before advertised time. Tonight I was told I could order fish, but they had no chips!!! You could not make it up. I’m sure you all know that when you want fish and chips nothing can take it’s place. Sadly I ordered pizza…. Nice but not what I wanted. The staff didn’t really care.

Excellent Takeway - The batter remained crispy and was very tasty with a huge portion of chips. Can't remember the last time I enjoyed fish and chips so much.

Ordered online through Uber Eats which stated it was a 15-20min delivery time. Fast forward 1 hour & 20 mins is more like it. I called to ask where my order was & they said Uber was busy. Once it arrived I asked the delivery driver if he was from Uber (he said no). I called and asked for a refund as the food was cold & very late. I admit I was not happy but their reply was for me to bring the food back for a refund! Obviously I could not do this. We start eating the chips & there was a false nail in them! Awful! Don’t order from here.

This chippy is located is a not too desirable part of Bracknell, but don't let the dingy parking area put you off. Food is cooked to order so be prepared to wait 10 minutes or so. Portions are very generous and you can tell the oil used is regularly refreshed. The chips were crisp and light - in no way greasy, and the cod had a nice crunchy batter to it. I would rate it a solid 4 out of 5.

Ordered online at 11am. Order accepted, payment taken and ready to collect at 5.50 pm. Just leaving to collect food and I receive a text to say the order had been cancelled and money refunded. Immediately rang to query, young girl answered. I explained my issue, she asked how I ordered and I said online via their website. She replied that they don't recommend ordering online! No mention of that on their website and order had been accepted and money debited from my account. She was quite rude, no apology and no offer to resolve. I asked if I could order by phone. Yes but I would have to wait an hour and a half after my original collection time. Not impresses as many friends had recommended. Now driving back from The Big Thumb in Binfield with hit food and no hassle. And it was cheaper!

Both times the food quality was excellent. Fish appeared to be freshly cooked, certainly tasted as if it was. Good quality fish, the thick part of the fillet. Really nice chips well cooked and not too many end bits. Service was good. In particular the delivery which stated 15-25 mins and I was sceptical but it arrived bang in time

When phone was answered I was asked if I can hold. I've been put on hold for nearly 10 minutes. To order takes 30s. Than I've been told my order of two haddocks and chips will take an hour to pbe prepared. When I got there there weren't any cleare instructions how to proceed in this covid-19 restriction should I go into store or wait outside until I'm called that my order is ready?! I arrived on time however waited further 30 minutes before my order was ready! Staff seem under a lot of stress and they are rather rude! I found the service shocking! We usually order fish (haddock) and chips and I can say haddock is one of the best. I cannot comment on anything else they offer on menu as we haven't try it yet.

Totally unacceptable delivery wait time, 2h10m from the point of order to receiving food, ringing restaurant the call handler was dismissive and rude. The via just eat app said the food was on its way and it wasn’t. It wasn’t till we called that we were told then it was just leaving. This restaurant clearly can not handle the demand at peak times and should not be active for orders if that is the case.

Placed order at 6.30pm, was told will be ready by 8.15pm. 8.15pm no delivery. Told another 30minutes,called again and told 9.25pm. Now they refuse to give refund! Shame, food is generally great but 3 hours wait for food is terrible. They keep your money and don't deliver. Bad service.

Waste of time with these guys! Completely unacceptable that they just kept pushing the time back with no explanation to the point that we had to cancel and do something else. And when we called to cancel we were told it would still be another half an hour on top. Why on earth would it need to be 3 damn hours for two burgers and some chips Completely useless service and I would recommend that they are avoided and save yourself the hassle of getting a refund on food that won’t show up.

45 min wait for average food! I called up at 8:20 and was told a 20min wait so went in and laid 20 mins later and was told 10mins extra to wait. Sadly this was not true and from calling to collecting took them 45 minutes for fish n chips and burger. The burger looked overcooked and dry. Surely they can make the cooking process quicker somehow!

We ordered fish and chips on a Tuesday evening and were very happy with the quality. We ordered scampi and also haddock with chips which were well prepared and piping hot. The order took about 10 minutes to prepare. The only comment I would make is the the haddock was a large portion of fish which may actually be enough for 2 persons and the large chips fed 3 of us.

We love the quality and quantity of the fish and chips here. Would order more often if they did free delivery beyond 3 miles . Ironically our favourite Pizza delivery (TOPS) is in the same block of shops and they often get our order instead when we don't feel like driving, or if running out of time to get there before it closes as they deliver free to our address! When we do get the timing right and don't mind driving to collect, we are never disappointed in the food.

Fish and chips delightful, no skin left on the fish, chips are real chips without all the out of shape Odd potato ends that you normally get at a chippy, perfectly cooked and packed very nicely. Owners are very very nice caring people. Oh and...
