We’ve always enjoyed visiting the cafe, unfortunately today we made the mistake of booking a table for lunch. The cafe had plenty of free tables, but we were made to feel very uncomfortable when we asked if we could move to another table? We were told they get very busy over lunch and because we were a couple we couldn’t sit on a table of four? Interestingly no other customers were asked to move and subsequently couples entered the cafe sat wherever they wanted!? We were asked when we left if everything was okay, we raised the situation with the member of staff, she just tapped her wrist? Totally spoilt our visit, made us feel undervalued, unwelcome and ruined our experience. Might benefit this particular staff member to undertake some customer service training? The food was exceptional, the environment is wonderful. Unless you are a larger group, don’t book a table just arrive early!

Sadly this tearoom does not care about its local customers. Tried to get lunch for us it was just 2pm would not serve us. Surely its not to much to ask to make a sandwich. Other times you can go in no food is being served it has now become a very unreliable place to eat. I fully understand staffing issues but fhis has been an issue for some time. It's a lovely place but fed up with the consistency of what's on offer or not.

Been three times in the last month and each time the lady serving was chatting to her colleagues and in no hurry to serve the que of people that was in front of her. The fact they ask you to wait at the end of the counter for your drinks adds to the confusion with people blocking the staff coming out of the kitchen. Could be so much better with a bit of reorganization. Nice cakes and coffee

Dropped in for coffee with a friend, will be back again. We had an assistance dog with us but we didn’t spot a bowl of water out for dogs.

We went for lunch in the café. We were a party of three, and we each had a delicious and well prepared meal, with a coffee to follow. The café is large and airy but with a great atmosphere. There are toilets close by which proved to well cleaned and stocked. The staff in the café were very hardworking and friendly, and they took very good care of us. We shall certainly be returning.

Went here on a Friday afternoon for lunch. The menu is varied with quite a few choices. It was quiet on the day we went. Food was good and service was ok.

Got to Bicester early and decided to go here. One of the best full English breakfasts I’ve had in a long time. Excellent coffee and the service was outstanding. We couldn’t fault our experience here.

We stayed here for a pit stop overnight when visiting family in a nearby village and this place didn't disappoint. We received a very warm welcome from the landlord and landlady and check in was a breeze. They have a great selection of alcohol and it was really pleasing to see a village pub so busy. The building itself is stunning and much larger than I thought it would be with an extended restaurant and outdoor area with seating. The room had everything we needed for the night, including a bath and a shower and it overlooked the town square which was nice and quiet. The bed was very comfortable and we slept soundly. Our room was number 2. The breakfast menu has something for everyone with a selection of cooked and non cooked options and you can tell quality ingredients were used. It was a shame this was a flying visit as the the evening and Sunday lunch menu looked fantastic and we will be sure to try these on our next visit. Overall we felt very welcomed and the pub has a very homely feel to it, we will be sure to stay again next time we are passing.
