Blossoms in Newcastle upon Tyne

I went to Blossom's for breakfast, went in and sat at a table. A woman approached and asked what I wanted. I said I didn't know because I didn't have a menu. She waved towards the far side of the restaurant and said: "The menus are on the counter". I thought it was a bit unusual being told to go get my own menu, and I wondered if, after I'd eaten, I'd be directed to the kitchen to wash my plate. So I left.

Called into here by chance, hot beef sandwich with chips, peas and gravy was lovel, the beef melted in your mouth, would of been better in a crusty bun or baguette but a bargain for £4, great clean friendly place for a bite to eat.

Disgusting food , server did not listen or take note of anything asked for.. i was very shocked as restaurant was empty only 2 customers to be seen. I wouldn’t of reviewed if it had been busy but overall terrible experience I won’t be returning even if the lady place open. 3 course meal Started watery lentil soup no lentils visible but found coriander in for flavour one mouth full was my limit. Server claimed it was freshly made that day… questionable! Main large beef dinner Beef was dry but ok Veggie were not so good peas were hard Gravy watery Then when asked for more gravy they gave a totally different gravy to what was on our meals … strange ! Desert I asked for apple crumble I received apple pie with dry jelly custard I poked it and it didn’t leave any indentation in it maintained a clean finger not custard I know. I flipped it over soggy pastry with watery liquid I refused to taste it. Partner asked for spiced rhubarb and ginger crumble. Was dry jelly custard that did not move with green sticking out he tasted it and spat it out refusing to try again. There is no way the food here is freshly made daily especially with deserts felt like I was sampling Hell’s Kitchen. Stomach pains we experienced after this meal were extreme I strongly advise all to avoid this place for what We had ordered. Overall cheap but not cheerful The only thing I enjoyed was my bottle of juice not prepared by them.

Absolutely gorgeous. Lovely staff quick service. The food did not disappoint the best full English I’ve had in years. Such good value for money would definitely recommend.

Popped in here looking for a cooked breakfast, extremely pleased we did, lovely and clean, fantastic cooked breakfast, great choice, great quality & fantastic value, super friendly staff, nothing too much trouble, will definitely be back when I the area again, highly recommended.

Great Sunday lunch for the price. Could not fault it, moreover, nothing was too much trouble for staff. Well done.

A friendly cafe with a selection of good tasty inexpensive food. Opens about 8:30 till about 4:00 for breakfast, lunch, snacks and iced cream. One of Bykers better eateries.Well worth a visit if you are hungry.

one word CRAP!!!! Just wouldn't go back dont know how its still open during the renovation as the dust is all over. Very bad quality food ..

I literally work all over the UK and eat out 3 times a day. Blossoms bistro is literally the best value/portion size/ taste for food out of anywhere I’ve ever been. Let me give you an example... One absolutely ginormous Sunday beef roast with HOME MADE Yorkshire puddings and a dessert = £4.95 *No that isn’t a typo, it is literally £4.95 and it’s TASTY! Wish they had a Blossoms Bistro In every city!

Love this place a real hub of the community, clean tidy and staff friendly and lovely. I had a 3 course meal lentil soup beef dinner loads of it and apple pie &ice cream the only down side was soup a little watery, but still lovely. Food was hot so much that I'm writing this so dinner can cool down a bit For £5.95 for meal a good deal

My first time in this cafe today, with friends,, really nice breakfast I ordered a full vegetarian breakfast 2 vegetarian sausages scrambled eggs tomatoes mushrooms beans fried bread toast and glass of apple juice all for £4,95 absolute bargain, nice staff aswell we all enjoyed it I will definitely return

Love this place great food and fabulous choice, food is always hot or cold whichever you choose, Staff are really nice and very popular with locals especially on sundays. They do favour fabulous Sunday dinner for about a fiver, give them a try.

Hoy llamé a la cafetería para pedir comida y dije que me esperaba un taxi. Me dijeron que esperara 20 minutos antes de irme. Luego, llamé a la cafetería. Le pregunté si mi comida estaba lista para ser recogida. El taxi estaba en camino. Me dijeron que sí. En el taxi, esperando una cena en Piacck, ni siquiera se hizo. Terminé esperando 15 20 minutos en la cafetería para preparar la comida. Escuché al dueño decir que nadie llamado Veronica había llamado. Mi cena terminó costando 16 12 por taxi 4 por La cena es encantadora, pero el personal no sabe si es lunes o domingo. Creo que para cualquier cliente que llame 45 minutos antes de la hora de la orden y no se hizo, no hubo ninguna disculpa más que perdón por la espera del año, que dicen a todos. hay clientes muy mal servicio comida encantadora pero mal servicio en un día cualquiera

Great menu; busy place; plenty of seating and good service - And at a great price. What more could you want?

Este es un muy buen lugar para comer! La comida está bien preparada y presentada, ¡y se sirve caliente en platos calientes! Tan a un precio razonable que puedes permitirte comer allí tan a menudo como quieras. El personal es encantador también! Es un negocio familiar y obviamente se enorgullecen de su trabajo. Solo una falla, se está volviendo tan popular que a veces tienes que esperar un poco, ¡pero vale la pena esperar!

Segunda visita hoy y sabía que debía escribir una reseña para dar crédito si se debía. Este café es un verdadero hallazgo. La comida es divina, tiene una excelente relación calidad-precio. Creo que quien sea que posea tiene un increíble cerebro de negocios. El servicio fue a la excelencia. Real café Geordie tradicional en el extremo este. Visited twice and on each occasion the food and service has been superb. Prices are ludicrously low and I will certainly visit again.

Me encanta aquí. Ahora yo clasificaría como un snob, así que la comida sobre una cafetería muy favorables en byker nunca me cruce mi mente. El personal es increíble. La comida siempre es tan bueno y tan barato! Las patatas picantes son lo mejor. Sin duda lo recomiendo!

Poor food not very good quality over cooked no taste bland would not come again as out dated and dirty

Esta es una gran cafetería con servicio amable, buena comida y excelente precio. He estado varias veces en los últimos meses (entre finales de septiembre y ahora 2016 Enero 2015) y cada vez tuve una experiencia excelente. Orden los granos picantes para un auténtico lujo.

Aunque esta cafetería recientemente tuve mala prensa. Siempre he encontrado la calidad y el valor de la comida y el servicio excelente, y no dudaría en recomendar este café por la comida. El domingo para llevar son excelentes. También puede obtener pequeñas comidas como carne, pollo o en un rollo con guisantes, patatas fritas y salsa por unas pocas libras.

For some years now, I have had meetings here, met with friends and often come by myself, Blossoms has the most friendliest vibe I have found in all my Newcastle cafe travels. You simply cannot beat Blossoms for great food, reasonable prices and the best coffee I have tasted. It's a bit of a secret gem in unlikely Byker. You will be lucky to get a table at lunchtime. If you do, it will be worth it. This small family run cafe has a big heart!

I come to this cafe with my family because it is value for money, and great home cooked food. I would truly recommend a visit.

This place is spot on. It's a cafe on Shields road so michellin starred and posh it isn't. However, it's a well run family cafe that serves good honest and really tasty food. I'm happily working my way through the menu and will continue to do so! Well done Blossoms! 3 course roast for less than a fiver! Wow!

I visited the cafe for my afternoon lunch and I ordered chicken salad it came spicy and uneatable. We ordered 2 cups of tea which tasted of perfume and the milk was off. The mushrooms were frozen and the eggs were over cooked. The bacon on the breakfast was undercooked and the sausages were the cheapest ones to find. Never will I return.

We visited this establishment today after ordering food we noticed how dirty this place is. My daughters couldn't/wouldn't eat the food they said it was ridiculously hot (spicey) my cup of tea was absolutely disgusting tasted like perfume owners couldn't have cared a less when it was brought to there attention everything is cheap and nasty

What can I say? Honest cooking at reasonable prices. After a comforting meal on a cold day? Look no further. A menu bursting with hangover cures!Ice cream is wonderful too!Love Blossom's!

The staff in Blossom's are amazing, they are so friendly and are great and remembering your favourite order. The food is always of a very high quality and extremely tasty. I highly recommend this café, you won't be disappointed.

Visited this small and packed cafe which serves the most interesting and flavour full food for next to nothing. A large breakfast £3.99 to a small just £1.99 ( Bacon, Sausage, Fried Bread, egg, tomatoe, beans and coffee) yes that is the small, which is all well cooked and tasty. Many more dishes are on offer including tuna mayo toastie.

Called in for a takeaway sunday lunch and it was very busy always a good sign we had to wait about 15 mins so i would advise ringing up and ordering. Well worth the wait great value for money and the food was all home cooked no frozen veg or yorkies here. Will def be back a hidden gem

This wee place may not be much to look at but the breakfasts are great. £3.95 for a huge big fry up and that includes tea, coffee or juice. Blossoms has sorted out many a hangover and long may it continue.

First impressions when you first walk in the door it does seem a little drab, Buts that's as far as it goes for me this a a little gem for the price you pay is good, the service is good and with a smile, the Coffee is one of the best I have had I a caffe for a long time.

If your after doing a day shopping in what we call the charity boulevard Blossoms is a homely place to stop for some home made quiche and a nice cup of tea. I prefer this place to the plastic microwaved food you can buy at other near by spoons. The staff are lovely and will take the time to get to know you and make you feel welcome on any return visit.

Prices are brilliant dont think you will get better value in Newcastle. Food well prepared, but basic, staff helpful and courteous. You need to understand the customers you will have to dine with are colourful and acceptits Sheilds Road Byker. A very well run and highly regarded cafe.

Don't expect fabulous surroundings but Blossoms cannot be beaten for value for money. Three course Sunday lunch for £4.95. Home made soup, choice of chicken, lamb, pork or beef for main and huge choice of desserts. The proprietress is a lovely lady and this place is family run,nothing is too much trouble. The baked potatoes are also fab.

We had Sunday lunch, £4.95 for 3 courses. The food was all fresh and tasty. Will be going back again. Don't expect fancy surroundings.
