Our favourite place to go. There are so many footpaths and circular routes throughout the estate, which are wonderful to stroll along. Afterwards, you can visit Pavillions Tea Room for a delicious meal and great coffee. Wander the gardens and botanic walk, visit the garden centre which has a fantastic range of products and yet another cafe, or go to the farm shop and sit in the courtyard with a delicious ice cream. If you like historic houses, Stanstead House is interesting to visit. For kids, there is the maze and train. Best of all parking is free. Just as an aside.... the toilets in the gardens are the cleanest we have ever visited.

We have been enjoying proms in the park for a few years now and really look forward to it. Last night's show was terrible. The sound was poor, the one aeroplane display seemed like a token and there were no screens. We all the pay the same amount of money as previous years but for less ..... Why ?

The Proms brilliant as was the Spitfire. A pity the parachuting was cancelled but fireworks spectacular. We did prefer the old location of the stage although having the house view was good.

I absolutely love it here! Such a beautiful setting and I love the garden centre... only drawback is that I always end up spending too much when I go in because I want everything in the shop. 😂 The hand painted glasses are one of my favourite items. I was at Stansted House just a couple of weeks ago and enjoyed it as much as ever. My granddaughters were there with me for the first time and they had a great time. I can't wait for my next trip!

Visited the summer fete recently and was hugely disappointed. Seemed more about buying food and drink. Disgusted to find entrance to the house was an additional cost. No mention of this in the programme or other advertising of the event. Just wondering what our entrance fee paid for. Won't visit again. Ps if it was not for the good souls doing the reanctmnet this event would have been a complete waste of money and time.

Disappointing. No play area for the kids and the train wasn't running. It's not clear from the website that the play area has been removed and in fact it's still shown on the map on the board at the entrance. The sign outside the train station does explain that it depends on weather and availability of volunteers but there is no way of knowing on the day whether it's going to be running or not so we (and others) stood waiting at the gate for 20 minutes before deciding it wasn't going to open. Thankfully parking is free so at least we hadn't spent any money on a wasted trip.

Both the House and Chapel are most enjoyable. This is not an ancient house, but is very much a slice of its time (about 100 years ago). The Chapel must not be missed - makes you think a bit... But what 'made ' the House & Chapel were the volunteer guides. These are folks who all, in their individual & different ways, give life to these buildings. @StanstedHouse: don't change the way you select your guides- these all present as just honest folks who like to chat!

This review is for Pavilion Tea Rooms. It does not refer to the Stanstead Park Foundation. Google does not allow me to change the post. I have rated it 1 star because it is almost impossible to book by phone -- they do not answer. An answering machine would be an obvious solution. The location and the food is excellent. Not answering the phone is un professional

We were lucky enough to walk past the house when it was open to the public for the day. It has a superb interior and experts who tell you interesting facts about the house and its history. My favourite part was visiting the cellars to see where the staff worked and lived.

We attended the Summer Festival and it was a wonderful experience. The most interesting part was the re-enactment battles by the Napoleonic Association! It was truly a unique experience that we will never forget. Another really cool thing is the wide range of luxurious vintage and modern cars ranging from Rolls Royce to Bentley. (We even saw a Ferrari!) Overall, it was a great day out, the staff were friendly and the house was beautiful.

Attended Stansted Unlocked, fabulous day out, great time had. Loved the re-enactments, and the Grenadier Guards Band as well as the other musical entertainment. First time of being inside the house, really enjoyed looking around. I hope something similar is arranged for next year. Loved the fact that for parents they didn't have to spend a fortune on tat. Good old fashioned but very enjoyable, picnic, walking the grounds, train ride and being a family.

Had a look on google and some of the rooms look nice. My room was horrible. Scratty shower that was barely attached to the wall and covered in grime. Whole bathroom needs ripping out and starting again. Room in general was very outdated and door was an old cheap pvc door. Bar on the other hand was nice, all staff were polite and food was good. Just update the rooms..

The worst pub restaurant food we have experienced, we waited about an hour after ordering for fairly basic pub food, so expected something half decent. The ceaser salad was swimming in an inch of water and the steak and ale pie was like a lump of concrete. The staff were quite friendly and gave our dog some water, which was helpful as it helped wash down some of the pie we gave her. The salad had to be left, so basically £26 down the drain. The beer and pepsi were fine.
