The service made the day. From start to finish, the waiting on staff were really attentive and friendly. I have been the Hanley Bloom but the service is far better here. Maybe it’s dependent on how busy it is I suppose. But well done to everyone involved here. The only minus point would be the selection but beggars can’t be choosers

My friend and I visited Bloom in Stone for the Bloom afternoon tea in December 2022. We were warmly greeted by one of the waitresses, Ellie, who was friendly, helpful and efficient throughout. Please see pros and cons below: Pros: Served tea immediately after sitting down in a gorgeous flamingo pot. Cocktails were lovely and served swiftly - we didn’t have to wait ages for them like some bars offering cocktails. Small plates (which are served with the Bloom afternoon tea rather than sandwiches) were fabulous. Great portion size and really tasty food. Decor was gorgeous, neon signs and faux living walls. Comfortable chairs and a generally nice environment to catch up with friends in. Cons: No choice of tea or coffee as part of the afternoon tea - if there was we weren’t asked. Cakes served for afternoon tea are shop brought which I found really bizarre. I spoke to the manager, Courtney, who said the chefs don’t bake so they buy them in from their supplier. I said why do you offer afternoon tea then? And she asked me what I wanted her to do about it! Very abrupt and rude, didn’t apologise and just said the chefs have taken my comments on board. Surely there is a small local business who would be happy to supply homemade cakes to them if they wish to offer afternoon tea, instead of handing out what are quite clearly Mr Kipling. Please see photos. Prosecco isn’t good. I will drink anything but this instantly gave my friend and myself a headache which was weird! 2 men came into the bar shortly after I had spoken to the manager and she proceeded to talk about what we had said in front of us! So awful! To summarise, afternoon tea should probably be changed to a tapas offering. The chefs food is good - but remember they don’t bake. Ellie is a great waitress, Courtney is a manager with no customer service skills. Overpriced considering offering mr Kipling cakes!

Ordered a roll to be made up. Lady had a phlegmy cough, didn’t wear gloves and proceeded to wipe her nose on the back of her hand before putting the ham on my roll…..come on please. I couldn’t eat it, you’ll find it in the bin outside
