one of the best places i’ve ever been. really delicious, staff is so nice and everything is homemade so it’s such a unique taste i literally opened a tripadvisor account just so i can write a review for this place really recommend!!

The fettuccine Alfredo with chicken was delicious.

Recently visited blocks steakhouse and this restaurant is amazing. The service was excellent. We had the sirloin steak and it was cooked to perfection, I’d go as far as the best steak I’ve tasted in Cumbria! Would definitely recommend and we will definitely be back.

Lovely! As a veggie i was a little sceptic when my boyfriend suggested a steakhouse, but i had a very delicious falafel and sweet potato wrap with chips and mac and cheese!! It was super tasty and sooo filling. The service was also amazing, we had a young, dark haired girl serving us and she was just the sweetest ever!! she was so attentive and kind 🥰They also had a few fun games to play while we waited for our table! would absolutely recommend and can’t wait to come back next time we’re up here! 😊

They have a lot of seating either, be downstairs or upstairs.

First time at the restaurant and it did not disappoint! Family of 10 - most of whom had steaks and they all said they were cooked to perfection. Chicken fajitas were fab - nice and spicy too. Crème brûlée and sticky toffee pudding were amazing too. The best thing about this place is the service. The staff are so attentive and friendly- really 1st class - thank you for a great night - we will definitely be back!

So I went with my family as of a party of six a little bit after the lunch rush on a Saturday and we were so impressed! All of the ingredients are local! The steaks were cut that day!! I live in a larger city and was so impressed with the prices and their “pasture to table” approach. None of us ordered pork or BBQ of, we stuck to the sirloins, catfish and pasta dishes. As a delicious appetizer we got the Cactus Flower and they have a wonderful homemade special sauce. Dylan was a fabulous server!

We had steak burger. Absolutely perfect. Service was great and our waitress made suggestions and options greatly appreciated.

My husband and I just took a long drive from Tulsa Oklahoma. We both were so excited to grab some dinner together. 👍👍👍My husband's pro pork sandwich was delicious He was super happy with his sandwich. My mushroom burger was under cooked still pink inside and the mayonnaise tasted funny . Both our french fries were super old. Please, Just try to do better. Thank you

Service was excellent! Food however was not. Steak was seasoned poorly and cold and tough. Shrimp skewer came out ice cold, might have been ok if it was hot. Ribs were awful, pretty sure they were smoked a week prior. They were all that came out hot, but I’m sure it was from the microwave. Switched to beer, the cocktails might as well of been virgin.

Quality steak, well prepared. Staff is attentive, responsive, and friendly..

Took my Mother to eat lunch and we ordered Ruben Sandwiches, they were the best Ruben’s either one of us have ever had. We had a great waiter. Next time I’ll take a picture

First and last time I’ll eat here. Ordered the brisket and it was tasteless. They poured bbq sauce over it to give it flavor. I received 4 very thin slices of brisket. The chicken gumbo was horrible with no taste. Keep on driving DONOT STOP!!! Not worth a picture or your money. The decor is all it has going for it self. The waiter was nice and did his job.

Food was cooked perfectly. We had a rare fillet and a medium sirloin, both delicious. Eve was our server, and looked after us superbly.

Ali the waitress was very nice. Manager should let wait staff know what items are NOT available on the menu before customer orders and then told.... it's not available.

Visited Blocks during a short break in Cockermouth, had read reviews on here. Easy to book online. We were made to feel very welcome as soon as we arrived. There was plenty to choose from but my husband and I both chose a sirloin steak with 2 sides and a sauce. It was amazing! Steak cooked perfectly and lovely chips. We shared a dessert which was a Halloween chocolate cheesecake, it was to die for! Would 100% recommend this restaurant and would definitely return if we're in this area again.

Great steaks. Crab legs is a must one person in our group.

Hey all, I guess I ordered the wrong-thing…Brisket. After reading the other Reviews I know this place serves good food…but my brisket was not great. I believe it was old/leftover…and gray! It was eatable as I was starving. I ordered two sides, coleslaw & soup…only received the coleslaw. Probably won’t make it back here.

The food here is absolutely amzaing. You basically choose your meat, two sides and a sauce. I love the chicken parma. So tasty and juicy. Its on the expensive side, but well worth it.

My steak was not eatable tuff and grissel an fat. Potato was good. We were disappointed on our anniversary...

Very hard not to love everything about this restaurant. Farm fillet steak, loads of free side dishes to choose from, homemade desserts. AMAZING!!!!

Amazing place. Food was scrumptious. Desserts oh my goodness. Price very good and waitress was just absolutely amazing and fun.

Another stopping place when in town. Food is good, service is great, atmosphere is relaxed. Full bar if you wish. Plenty of tables except 3rd week in October when there is a motorcycle rally. Surf & turf as well as burgers are available to fit into your budget. Only down was steaks at my party was a little tough - not prime probably only choice grade, but were cooked perfectly to order.

Really nice meal cooked well, the staff were excellent especially the young waiter Finn who was very professional and friendly and made us feel very well looked after.

Visited on a very busy Saturday evenng having prebooked. Lovely quirky old building, friendly greeting . Some good steak and chicken options, partner opted for the fillet I had the chicken fajitas. Both excellent meals, i liked that sides and sauces were included in price. My fajitas were very tasty and an enormous portion with a pile of lovely large soft wraps and salsa, cheese and guacamole as accompaniments. Service friendly but a little uncoordinated, but still timely. Would certainly visit again when in the area

I never make reviews on these, but I did not enjoy my meal here at all. I ordered a Santa Fe chicken salad for $11.99. What came out was a side salad at best with four slices of cucumber, four cherry tomatoes, a couple pieces of red onion, and a single chicken tender cut up on top...what in the world is Santa Fe about that? I asked the waitress if I was brought a side salad by mistake (no big deal). She's like, "Why, we're you expecting it to be bigger or something?" Frankly, yes, I was! I shouldn't have to go home and make another dinner after dining out.

Stopped here coming back from vacation. So glad we did!!! Lovely atmosphere, service was great and the food was really good. Loved the beer battered fried mushrooms, and the steak and shrimp was great!

Reserved a table for 24 hours later ( a must) on arrival we were led to a nice table in the window, ordered a bottle of wine @ £24. Good service from ordering the meal to arriving, having said that we did wait around 45 minutes which was a bit long. The food was really good, rib eye steak and a double cheeseburger If your coming to Cockermouth book this place early you won’t be disappointed

You can not go wrong here. This is a top notch place with great service and food. Of course my husband and I were lead here by the reviews end let’s just say they hold up to it. I had the 10oz New York strip steak and it was made to perfection. My husband had the chicken fried steak and it was mouth watering; just as a chicken fried steak should be. All in all, I’d highly advise not to miss eating here. Oh, try a shot of the house tequila, it’s smooth to the palette. Thank you Misty & Dillon

The food was okay but not really anything special. I expected more flavor and tenderness as far as the meat goes but was disappointed. The ribs were tough and the brisket was fatty. The pork tenderloin was good but dry. The appetizer was the trio and it was fantastic! The staff was good and the service was quick.

Best steak and shrimp I have had in a long time! Husband's said his was the best he has EVER had! Highly recommend! Our server was great very sweet and attentive. Wonderful experience.

We were driving through and saw a parking lot full of cars. We go where the locals go. I'm so glad we did! The New York strip was juicy and flavorful! I like my steaks Med Rare and could cut it with a fork! I was shocked to see REAL mashed potatoes! The staff were knowledgeable and very kind. They always kept our drinks full. Lastly the Bartender knew his stuff! His skills were on point and the beverages were very tasty.

Food was subpar to be a steakhouse! Steak was overcooked, very poor cut of beef. Shrimp were tiny and lacked flavor.

I have friends that live locally to blocks so whenever I come to up to visit I always make it a point to visit with them. The food is always great, good portion sizes, lots of choice. Never had a bad meal!

Went to celebrate exam results..very disappointing experience. Waited nearly an hour for the food,weren't told there would be a wait, then steak was very poor. Told waitress when asked how everything was and were offered an alternative but it was getting late and didn't want to wait again. All the sides were very nice. Wouldn't rush back, much nicer and cheaper places to eat in cockermouth.

All was good. The only thing I would add with all the smoked meat they did not offer smoked chicken. Pies are frozen not homemade. But for a small town like Mena the food was good.

Went here to celebrate my partners birthday and after reading all the positive reviews I was very excited. Starter was okay but the steak itself was terrible. We both asked for medium and it was cut into 3 pieces and each piece was a different temperature. Ate the first 2 pieces and left the 3rd as it was the consistency of a leather boot. Shame as the place seemed lovely.

We had a great dinner here, our steaks were perfect, and my sons burgers were also perfect. And my super picky son ate all his food, which quite literally never happens. Our waitress Ilia I believe the receipt said, was so super nice to our kids and us. But especially my 2 little ones. She made our last dinner of our vacation wonderful without knowing! We'll definitely be back next time we visit Mena. Also, the baked beans were delicious 😋

Steakhouse should not be the name of the place with the cuts of meat they serve. I felt a little rushed by the wait staff (not busy at the time). The rest of the food was good, just a horrible cut of meat for the steak.

Food was delicious. Place wasn't packed out on a Friday night, so the wait time wasn't bad at all. My husband's steak and my pasta tasted amazing. The service was awful. Not sure if our waitress was new, but she came back to the table 4 different times to make sure our order was right, but it wasn't. My mother in law ordered a loaded potato for her main entree. She never received it. Waitress came and told us that they ran out of potatoes, as she was serving our food. Yet, the couple that walked in and ordered after us, had a loaded potato on their plate. Waitress also forgot about our appetizer and finally brought it right before the food came out. I think we just had a bad experience that night. I've heard nothing but good about this place. We will definitely try it again next time, hoping for a better experience.

Just left restaurant at 5:15 on 6/11/24. Sat at table for 10 to 15 mins and never got waited on. A group of 8 came in and their orders were immediately taken. We will not go back and do not recommend restaurant to anyone else.

Sooo impressed with this restaurant. Small town and unaware of the cooking skills in Mena Arkansas at Chopping Block Steakhouse, blew my mind. Our server was so amazing that she earned an invite to the cookout. I have never laughed so hard at a steakhouse. She had no filter, and it was amazing. I asked how this fried fish was, and she said, "Sir, I don't know, most people don't order fish at a steak house.. That was the beginning of a beautiful and great dinner. If you are in Mena stop by the Chopping Block Steakhouse.. You won't regret it

Passing thru headed back to Texas and decided to stop in and grab some grub. 3 out of the 4 adults ordered the BBQ combo platter and it was disgusting had a weird fishy taste and the bbq sauce was the worst....we didn't eat any of it and ended up sending it back we were not trying to get sick... the manager did let us order something else but we def won't be back I'd rather eat at McDonald's... our waitress was really sweet and attentive tho..

Had burgers, they were pretty good. Had to fetch my own refill at the bar. The servers had some drama going on, wish they would have taken it to the back...was a lil uncomfortable. Onion rings were kinda soggy, but tasty otherwise.

The fries were cold and tasted like they were cooked in old grease. Gravy tasted like paste.

Awesome food, great staff, desserts are a homemade. Triple chocolate cake should be renamed, triple chocolate overkill!!!

We get here every time we're in Arkansas. Great food with an excellent menu. We've never had an average meal. Always top flight!

Good food and drink prices are a bit steep for what is offered, and water-downed alcoholic beverages need to be chilled better before serving.

What a charming little place this is in Mena, we are so glad we found it! The bacon cheeseburger was absolutely huge and it was char-broiled and delicious. The catfish was lightly fried and oh so fresh, very yummy. Our server was very attentive too. We will definitely be back to try the steaks as they looked amazing.

I used to work here they served potatoes that had maggots on it. And there was meat that had been partially eaten by rats and they still served it. There’s roaches. The way they treat their employees is pathetic. I wouldn’t recommend eating there nor would I recommend working there.

If you're from out of town please eat somewhere else. The food is completely unsafe to consume. When meat spoils they will mix in the rotten meat with the fresh meat. After rats ate into the meat they still fed it to people. Please be cautious and aware when eating here. And if you have an issue with the food the owners will completely deny it and refuse to reimburse or replace the food.

Appetizers were cold, had trouble cutting sirloin with a steak knife, food came late, and food had no flavor. Service was good but don’t recommend this place due to the food not being good.

I hate rotten food. Especially when they have no problem with roaches and mice eating your food first.

Have eaten here twice now. Had the steak and shrimp the first time. Had the pulled pork the second time. The food was good. The waitresses were really nice and the service was fast. The portion size was really good too.

Main course was absolutely gorgeous couldn't fault it. My 2 grumbles were: The restaurant room was cold!!! The waffle pudding was very disappointing, on the menu it was advertised as a warm waffle with double choc ice cream and chocolate sauce. This was not the case it came with vanilla ice cream,also the waffle was very hard couldn't break it with a spoon in the end I used my fingers to break it up and it was covered in cinnamon flavoured sugar, definitely not the best!!! Certainly wouldn't order it again

I ordered 8 oz sirloin (med to med well) with shrimp. Steak was bleeding and the toughest steak I’ve ever ate. Fried Shrimp tasted like the oil hadn’t been changed in a week. Baked potato and side salad were good. Could’ve knocked a brick wall down with Dinner roll. No butter for roll. Wife’s Rueben was ok. Onion rings were doughy on the inside. Never saw the waitress after food was served. Oh yeah, Modeló was cold! Wont eat there again.

Worst $80 experience I had on my trip. The service was terrible, it took over an hour to get my food, it took asking 3 waitresses and waiting 30 minutes just to get a knife to cut my steak, I told them at check out how bad my experience was and they offered nothing but, an “I’m sorry to hear that”. Tables around us were all having the same bad experience. I’d suggest finding somewhere else to eat in Mena.

Trendous meal. Perfect steaks . Not too expensive. Excellent service. The wsy that sides and a sauce is included is also welcomed.
