Very poor customer service especially from the manageress. Will not shop there again.

Went to the cafe but not the store itself. Although it was recommended the cafe stopped serving meal deals so we went elsewhere.

Fantastic store with a great range of products, lovely staff and overall a great shopping experience.

Me and my mum came for a reiki treatment yesterday in the spa at sandersons with Angie, she was very professional and it was the most relaxing experience. She was very knowledgeable and is amazing at what she does! We have re booked with her!

Ordered a Christmas gift on 20/12 and paid for DPD 1-day delivery to ensure it would arrive in time. Item never arrived. Received an automated "order refunded" email on 28/12 with no explanation or apology.

I made an online order, using this company over (cheaper!) Amazon, as they’re a physical store and wanted to support the high street even if I wasn’t able to get to a store. They refunded my order three days after the purchase without reason. I assume it’s because they don’t keep accurate stock levels on their website. The basic refund email suggests I returned the item (I did not) and makes no mention of the P&P being refunded as well. Terrible service, use Amazon or John Lewis instead if you’re considering buying from here.

Ordered a Barbour scarf on Monday and paid 6.95 gbp more for next day delivery. Now is Friday and according to dpd they tried to collect the parcel but the store was not ready… this is a Christmas gift for my father and tomorrow I have the flight to Italy. Customer service apologise but then disappear when I told them they need to refund the money I paid for a service I never got. (They obviously need to refund the next day delivery as they failed miserably and made me pay for that). Maybe the in person store is ok but if you want reliability buy from Amazon and stay away from them

I purchased a pair of leather boots only to receive a secondhand pair that have been worn. I thought it was just a battered box. I am disgusted and can’t get anyone in the phone. As I have paid my daughter will not be getting her Xmas present. Never again. I actually did not want to give any stars but needed to post this review

The worst customer service ever. I ordered a pair of UGG slippers to be delivered. They never turned up as Sandersons had given the courier DPD the wrong delivery address. After several emails to Nicole I was told there was nothing that could be done, even though the mistake was with them, so the outcome is I have paid for a pair of slippers and delivery and have not received them.

Excellent service. Ordered on Saturday morning and received my parcel on Tuesday. I have nothing bad to say about my experience and the company

I absolutely adore this store. Exactly what we needed locally. A local family run department store with amazing customer service. You really are made to feel special as soon as you walk through the door. Some stunning products, alot of which I was already purchasing but having to trudge into a town centre to try on and purchase. I'm shocked at the low reviews from people that say it's too expensive or that they havn't even been in. That doesn't justify a negative review unfortunately it just means this particular store isn't suited to your budget. The store doesn't dictate the cost of an item theyt stock. These are all branded items where the brand itself says what the minimum it should be sold for. And if you did your research as I do (as I like to get the best price on items) you'll find that sandersons is usually one of the most competitive stockists of them all . I highly recommend this store. There are not many shops nowadays that greet you as you enter and offer assistance. 🙏

Today i visited this gorgeous looking shop but what made it is the service! Thank you to an individual called Louise s she was absolutely brilliant went above and beyond to help, very professional and such a pleasant person. Thank you so much!!

Some lovely things. The staff are stuck up their own back side. Not one staff acknowledged anyone who came into the shop all Stood talking to each other. It's not a good look for the lovely department 😕

Joke company do not buy. I spent £195 on a fragrance here which is a lot of money for one item, only to receive an email 2 days later/the day before delivery accusing me of fraud then saying they will be refunding my money (which I have not received) & then they had the cheek to ask me to order it from them again but through PayPal instead after accusing me of fraud… I ordered the fragrance from my own bank to my own address with my own money. First & last time using this website I’ll spend my money + the extra at Selfridges or Harrods (well established & reliable) instead & suggest you do the same. Will update if I don’t receive the refund they are supposedly giving me & take further action, unreliable, waste of time & money save yourself the hassle.

This shop doesn’t attempt to mimic the larger quality clothing stores. It has its own quality stamp and quality standards. Its displays are well laid out and contain some top quality components. Together with the professional and friendly staff, they have replaced John Lewis as my place to shop.

I saw a dress full price in the shop but if bought online was half price. Frustrating, but I bought online and clicked collect in store as I live very close by and thought it would be quick as the dress is already there. 2 days later I had a DPD notification that it will be delivered to my home that day. I phoned the store to clarify as I asked for collection and they said it was being delivered into store and to collect it from there. Strange as the dress was already there on the shop floor. Called in the following day to be told they didn’t have it and it would be delivered that day and to wait for an email from them. One week on and no email and no dress but the money has been taken. It seems there is no cohesion between online and store. Poor customer service and it all feels very amateurish.

A proper department store with great customer service

Just wanted to make it super clear as its not on website when ordering, you pay for your own returns & have to wait a month for you refund to hit your account... not an issue but not at all clear when placing orders online

I was worried to order from here because of the negative reviews but it was the only place I could get it from. Ordered Sat, despatched Monday, arrived Tuesday, exactly what I wanted. Can’t fault them.

Should not be allowed to trade. Complete and utter crooks. Took my money, didn't even send me a confirmation email. Had to chase for a week and won't refund. Samderson are a shambolic bunch of thief's. Please don't use this company.

Shoddy family business not to be trusted

Ordered an item with 1-2 day delivery to arrive before Christmas. Only to receive an email on Xmas Eve (3 days later) saying the item is out of stock and was purchased due to an online error. Would not use this site again.

Absolutely disgusting company. Placed the order almost 6 days ago and only just notified me now that the item is out of stock how unprofessional. This was a Christmas present and I can't even buy the item from anywhere else because of the lack of time they spent messing me around. Please stay clear from this horrible company

Just been into Sandersons to buy a Christmas gift. There was a sign showing 20% off Barbour. When I got to the till 20% wasn’t deducted, and when I asked,the assistant she said there wasn’t a 20% discount today she was, rude and very condescending. I went back to the Barbour area and and the 20% sign had been removed ! Disappointed that Sandersons feel the need to rob their customers like this !

Ordered some items online as Christmas gifts, the site says they offer next day delivery. They use DPD, who four days in a row provided a delivery slot, then after arranging to be home and waiting for delivery, they never even attempted to deliver to my house. I spent over an hour complaining to DPD after the third attempt, who promised they would deliver that day, and then didn’t again. I contacted Sanderson’s as my contract is with them, and they weren’t interested in helping. Terrible customer service.

The stuff on their website is out of stock and they take your money. Placed an order and after a few days had no dispatch email, contacted customer services who said they were seeing if it was in-stock at there other stores and would get back to me before the end of the day....guess what they never got back to me..tried ringing and when I did get through was told all the online customer service staff had gone home. Was the last date also for Xmas dispatch today so someone ain't getting a Xmas present thanks to Sanderson's. Selling out of stock items and then not contacting there customers, first time ordering from Sanderson's and the last. Also shows how bad they are with their customer services they don't even respond to their reviews here.....will update on how long it takes to get my refund? If they would like to give me a ring I could maybe do some training on how we operate our customer services on our e-commerce stores. Update: all emails 8 in total ignored, rang customer services this morning and said I could not speak to anyone and I had to send an email.....what a joke, will have to claim money back through PayPal resolution.....hope your CEO reads these reviews.

What a lovely shop. Compact but with so much variety. Great for gifts and some really beautiful clothes. Helpful and friendly staff but also happy to let you browse. Definitely worth a visit.

Appalling service. I ordered online spending nearly £450 on clothing. £297.50 worth of products purchased never arrived. I emailed them numerous time asking where my items were. I was fobbed off left on hold ignored and given excuses. I still have not received any refund or the items. I received only two items the rest I was told would be sent out to me on a different day. That never happened. I do not recommend this company. It's an absolute nightmare to do business with them to be honest, they take your money then literally don't send the items you purchase.

Ordered a bag with next day delivery. The wrong bag arrived, so I contacted customer services to request that the correct bag was sent with next day delivery. It was explained by the e-commerce director that this was not possible due to time of day (16:30) but it could be delivered the day after tomorrow. I agreed to this as I urgently needed the bag as a gift. The bag never arrived as it was apparently ‘lost in transit’ - terrible service.

Disappointed with poor service. Staff should probably listen to customers and understand their requests, Not to ask the customer to stand at the till and look things up on the Sandersons website on their phone. The product was not in stock, but it could have been ordered and there were 3 alternatives products available in store. Non of these were offered as the assistant didn’t actually care or know to do this, so a sale was lost and a customer annoyed. Ah well.

Visited the store for the first time today and what an amazing experience. I was greeted by a friendly member of staff upon arrival and it was obvious to see that this really is a customer focused store. Friendly staff, lovely designer pieces and a breath of fresh air compared to the more high end department stores. I had the pleasure of using the spa today which was absolutely lovely. Jessica gave me a fantastic neck, shoulder and back massage. Thank you so much, very relaxing! Was able to purchase some lovely fragrance that was kindly wrapped for me when requested. I was even asked if I wanted to wait inside the store when I was standing outside in the drizzle waiting for a friend. Will definitely be returning thank you.

Sandersons is everything you want as a customer. From the excellent customer service, to the friendliness of their team and the amazing service and help when needed. Second to none, thank you so much.

Exactly what a customer focussed department store should be. Placed an order for 2 shirts online at a great price (cheaper than anywhere else, which is ultimately what led me to Sandersons). I received emails confirming order and delivery - delivery was when they said it would be, but most impressively the packaging and care taken in shipping my order was superb. Care and attention that is really hard to find nowadays. I may be a first time customer of Sandersons, but I will certainly be a long time customer of theirs now. Well done everyone involved.

Lovely shop, had a browse and a coffee at Costa, it was quiet as went early afternoon midweek. Its usually busy at the weekend. Variety of designer brands to suit.

Visit here more regularly since the Costa coffee shop opened inside. I find the clothes usually outside the price I am prepared to pay, that's not to say they're not nice clothes! Make up also seems more expensive than, say, Boots. It is a pleasant store to have a look around and has a pleasant uncrowded atmosphere. Update - 15 June. Yes, it has changed in this shop. Layout of products has changed. Pettits shoes have long since gone. Apricot clothes too long since gone. Still nice to have a look around but it doesn't hold the same interest for me as it did.

Love this place but a little expensive

Place two online orders a day apart. Both arrived by next day delivery. Great communication throughout & saved myself about £60 by not purchasing off the actual designers website. Very Happy Customer.

I was furious when I asked for some moisturiser as a gift for my mum. I was sold a makeup bag containing numerous items for £38. Upon opening the item I found the moisturiser was a tiny sample. Totally inadequate to give as a gift so returned it. The store manager refused to accept the return as they have a no returns policy on cosmetics. I pointed out it was unused and none of the packaging was damaged and the seal was intact on the moisturiser. It was in a perfectly saleable condition but they refused my return. I didn't even want my cash back and was happy to exchange.4

Lovely little independent department store

Well selected fashion brands (especially if you're looking for Barbour), knowledgeable and friendly staff!

Avoid online ordering especially if purchasing as a gift at Christmas. Item exchanged but unfortunately still unsuitable due to sizing however a cash refund was refused and a refund in an 'e-wallet' was given instead. Unhelpful when XL in the brands stocked are not even equivalent to a UK Size 14.

I actually found the staff very judgmental especially when you are looking at expensive items, I was approached by a member of staff before she looked me up and down then she walked straight past me, they obviously work on commission, I have spent a lot of money in the past at Sandersons but not anymore, they really shouldn’t judge a book by it’s cover I had quite the Pretty Woman moment😂 so I have to go shopping now and spend some money in a store that treats it’s customers With a little bit more respect and remember if it wasn’t for your customers you wouldn’t have a job!

Costa Coffee shop not Very good today. Coffee tastes awful in paper cup and was weak whereas last week it was very good.

Popped into the Costa in store I like this one as it light and bright although the seating area is small. I like the store but the clothing department isn't to my taste now.
