Blackbrooks Café in Wealden

Just popped to the restaurant while I was having some work done on my vehicle nearby - the breakfast and service was lovely, and it was pretty peaceful as I got there just as they opened. Would highly recommend :-)

Food was tasty and ok, we went for coffee and a snack but too many sweet items, only fruit scones were the 'savoury'. The young lady who took the orders, didn't listen got it wrong twice, tbh I'd say she would much rather be elsewhere. Atmosphere once we sat outside was ok.

It's very expensive and not at all clean all the food is pre-prepared brought in food and unfortunately not even that nice. Some of the condiments bottles were empty and hadn't been checked in goodness knows how long. Did love however that they were in glass bottles and not plastic. Watched a very strange exchange with a waitress and customer a glass was asked for as there was none out on the help yourself counter. The waitress's response was well we just don't have any right now as they went to walk off. The customer said could you just please give me a take away cup then so I can please have some water. This should have been something that was offered as an immediate alternative. Or if this is something that's happening then more glasses need to be purchased in order to keep them stocked up so people can have their drinks in them and use the options of the water available.

All the staff are friendly and welcoming. Food is good and filling. Hot drinks are good too. Background music is quiet and unobtrusive. Clean, tidy and well managed. Well done Blackbrooks Cafe.

It's a garden centre that has a cafe. But the service and quality is good.

Ordered quiche on menu ,but not available. Ordered the Ham egg and chips instead. Not very appetizing. Chips were dried out and the ham was a bit chewy.Had a hot chocolate but had to give it back as it was barely warm! Poor young girl was left behind the counter looking strained as a queue built up and other staff members just chatting! She didn't have much support but was doing her very best to be polite under the strain and was a very nice young lady. Senior staff members looked relaxed and didn't seem very forthcoming in wanting to help her out!! Atmosphere was relaxed. I won't eat here again. Seddlescombe cafe much better!

All excellent have visited here many times and always a first class standard of food and service

Just had a cappuccino and a slice of lemon drizzle cake. Delicious.

Always good good excellent as mentioned before have a breakfast once a week at black brooks great fadden centre as well.

Lovely place to visit, I go often, cafe great with outdoor space. Staff friendly and helpful, plants reasonably price, meets all my outdoor and indoor gardening needs

Called in on the off chance whilst passing, pleased we did, great breakfast and service! Struggled to eat it all. Nice and clean. There was a leak in the the middle of the dining area, but the rain was torrential. Coffee was very nice, great range of cake, I was tempted but resisted 😎

Lovely little place, good selection of plants. However must say unnecessarily overpriced. Same things costs less in other shops (such as esk). Almond croissant was out of this world! Iced coffee was not ice at all. All things aside, nice place to browse, have a drink and spend time with a friend for a slow shopping 😊

Lovely outdoor use of the garden centre. Very nice staff and area spotless. Had drinks and a snack. Absolutely no complaints and far from it.

Went to blackbrooks to look around and them went and had drinks in the cafe ,the staff were very friendly 🙂

Garden centre cafe, nice place to visit when choosing plants etc. Won't be there much longer, sold for redevelopment, housing. shame.

Lovely lunch , good size portion well worth a visit.

Poached eggs on a toasted muffin, eggs cooked to perfection.

Great date slice, average coffee. It was just somewhere to get out of the rain 🌧

Friendly staff, good food. Only criticism when I visited was poor ventilation and a strong smell of frying fat and quite cold.

Only had coffee but that was like warm and the table tops are sticky because of the anti septic polish they use ? Funny no where else has the same problem.

Coffee was nice, but they need a bigger machine as the wait was horrendous

Nice garden centre, restaurant friendly and food for not bad for me, but my wife's was definitely from freezer to microwave and not that nice. We think that the menu needs to be a bit plainer or simpler also bit expensive. Sorry

Varied menu but in this hot spell it could do with a fan or air conditioning system its very hot inside and out. Food and service was excellent very well presented. 😊

Very pleasant place to while away an hour with a panini or delicious cake. Hard working friendly staff.

Great cafe, good quality food in lovely surroundings

Visited during cold, wet and windy weather. The interior was rather cold as a result which meant it wasn't as a pleasant stay as it could have been. Having said that the drinks and food were lovely. The staff were efficient and friendly. The place was clean and tidy. I'm sure during warmer months it would be a more pleasant experience. For the older folk it ought to be noted that the cafe is a long convoluted route from the entrance and exit.

Lower Dicker Very run down compared to the 2 other sites really needs an upgrade especially the lighting . The cafe was v.cold indoors Our afternoon tea was freshly made and beautifully presented with little violas for decoration. (Sorry I didn't take a photo) The staff were friendly

Lovely food. We had a very tasty and generous Ploughmans and are rather partial to their scones, both fruit and cheese. Friendly and obliging staff plus a nice garden area to sit in as a bonus.

Lovely garden centre. Good coffee & quality value food.

Went for afternoon tea absolutely fantastic, my husband said best afternoon tea he has ever had and we've had a few.

Nice cafe, very clean with good service.

Happy, experienced staff throughout. Always a great place to visit
