We'd walked up to Black Rocks from Cromford and we were looking forward to a coffee at Badger barister - the black rocks cafe in the car park. It wasn't to be. The Cafe was closed. A large message on the door said that they were closed for the winter and would be open again in 2024. Apparently not. As it was a Sunday, we carried on along the trail to the Steeple Grange Light Railway just a few minutes walk. There we had hot drinks and some dolightful biscuits.

Lovely fresh coffee and delicious cakes in beautiful surroundings. Amazing views from the top of the rocks and pretty woodland walk.

We were ready for a drink and this is a handy cafe for Black Rocks and the walks around. Plenty of seating outside too and safety sorted at the cafe counter.

My niece very much enjoyed her coffee and snack after a walk around Black Rocks. Lots of picnic tables being well used. Wouldn't be so great i not so good weather but we were fortunate. A little wait to be served as only one person serving but not a problem.

Lovely traditional Pub, fab atmosphere and cosy fire Quick Service and food was good, all looked home cooked. Lots of options on the menu and a specials board. Minimal options for vegetarians. Some parking out the front, was no issues for us to get parked and on street parking nearby. Would recommend and would return.

Nice old fashioned coaching inn under new ownership, offering Mitchelin quality food, but with limited menu options, of four items per course. Room was OK although the bathroom was a little small. Plenty of parking. Must say the service and friendliness of the staff was exemplary and made our stay.

Proper pub with cask ale, wood burners and low beamed ceilings. If you're seeking refuge from the wet and cold, there is no better place to be. It's warm, cosy and comfortable, and the owners have always been kind and friendly. In summer there is a garden out front with a few benches and a wonderful view into the valley.
