Long waiting, cold, they run out of home made lentil soup and offered me tomato soup from the tin,terrible taste. They accepted return of the purchase.

Following a lengthy stroll, feeling hungry and frustrated due to the challenge of finding a nearby available table, our joy was palpable when they graciously accommodated our party of 8. This act of kindness was genuinely appreciated! The culinary delights were indeed delicious; however, our dining experience took a turn when the dishes arrived at varying intervals, causing some to finish their meals while others awaited their turn. Unfortunately, a few dishes arrived a bit cold. The coffee order added a touch of awkwardness as only 2 were initially served before the staff took a break, prompting multiple requests for the remaining cups. Payment faced similar delays, creating a puzzling situation given the near-empty state of the restaurant at that point. These mixed feelings encapsulate our experience at this establishment.

It was a rainy day and we took shelter there. We wanted to try the breakfast as a family, and it was amazing. We asked the waiters to congratulate their chefs. They said that the kitchen chefs were women. I congratulate them for their cleanliness and meticulousness. I will definitely come back.

Me and my family found this place by chance on a cold day, looking for a warm place to eat. What a great spot it was: cozy, lovely staff and massive portions of tasty food! They even delighted us with free cannolis 😋. Great before or after a walk through Hampstead Park.

Nice enough, I guess. Have to say the food was rather underwhelming for the money. NB the set menu is genuinely more expensive than ordering a la carte, which is always concerning.

Took my dad on Sunday for a light lunch. Staff friendly & attentive, food good. No blasting music. My father & I had a good lunch & could actually speak with each other !!! 👍🏼

Amazing restaurant! Cozy decor, excellent food, fantastic service. The calamari starter was very so good, we nearly fought over it. Both lamb dishes, the skewers and laz's favourite, were grilled perfectly with tender meat. Also enjoyed the crunchy vegetable. The brown haired waitress was so lovely and made us feel welcomed. The location was also perfect for a walk in the heath afterwards. We will be back.

After a long walk, hungry and upset that it was impossible to find a table somewhere around, we were so happy that they accepted us and made space for 8 of us. We really appreciated this!!! Food was delicious …. But … we received all of our food in different time (like someone already finished the food while others were still waiting) some of the dishes were a bit cold. When we ordered coffee, we received 2 then they went for break and had to ask many times for the rest of the coffee - was an embarrassing situation….. It was the same with payment - had to wait so long to be able to pay even at that point the restaurant was almost empty. So have mixed feelings with this place.

As on previous visits found staff friendly and efficient service very good. Had lasagna thought portion on the large size but it tasted very good.

Food was tasty and well presented Service was terrible. 30 minute wait for cold starter then main course appeared 2 minutes later and had to be sent back. We had to ask again for our bottle of water. There were 2 disputed bills it seems while we sat there so waiters clustered round the till trying to sort it out. Not to be recommended, shame as food was fine.

Appalling. I’ve eaten here twice. The first time the food made me sick. The second time the food was awful, overpriced and overly salty. We asked for orange juice and they told us they have ‘fresh orange juice’, then then brought out two glasses of cheap cordial, and had the audacity to charge us £10 for them. The staff are rude and unresponsive, having no class or tact, rudely and loudly shouting whilst we’re trying to enjoy our meal. They’re not properly dressed either, just wearing basic causal clothes for what should be a nice restaurant. Once again the food has made me sick. Never going to this place again, it’s awful, and the male staff are incredibly rude. The female waiter was fine, kind and friendly and dressed well, but the male staff are awful. Just insulting level of service, especially the rip-off for the orange cordial. 0 stars.

Fun, friendly welcoming and full Turkish restaurant. Hearty food and stong wine!

Worst experience so far. Been here a few times before and there was always something that disappointed. This time it was the size of the pizza. It was so small it didn’t touch the sides of the takeaway box, let alone fill a whole plate. Pretty embarrassing since that costs £14.95 for a minuscule pizza. Won’t ever be returning.

I ask for hallomy stick to take an aperitive, they brough 3 bloody small halomi where they were more breadcrumbs that real hallomy. The start is dessapoint. I was not kind for mean course.

Had a nice ice cream, rather expensive, when I asked for a glass of water, they looked confused, and said ‘we don’t usually do this’. Haha.

They had some kind of octopus stew with rice that was SO GOOD. Their halloumi avocado wrap was also excellent. Lovely place. They also had a nice coffee and pastry deal and if I had had time, I would have taken them up on it. I felt like I could have spent quite some time there! I would definitely come again!

Under new management so prices have risen, but quality still good. I expect they have retained the Turkish chef. Delicious, generous portion of lamb Kofta and very nice Apple and Apricot crumble with custard. The home made Baclava looked delicious too.

I have visited the ice-cream joint just next to this cafe. I believe the owners are the same. The gelato was great, highly recommended.

Still the best-tasting pizza in London, in my opinion. Thin, with a crispy edge, very fresh, tasty tomato base, loads of choice for type… I always go for Alle Verdura coz it has artichokes, spinach & asparagus. Have been eating there, or getting takeaway pizza, for many years and the quality has been consistent, even during the COVID years with their takeaway service. I have also had their mezze dishes, seabass, and risotto over the years and everything has been fresh and tasty, although, prices have gone up as they have everywhere! You can sit indoors, where there is a cosy ambience with colourful glass Turkish lighting and loads of characterful décor. It is quite a casual dining. The staff are polite and friendly. You can also sit outdoors where there is a roof cover and also heaters. The only criticism I have about that place is the fact that some parts of the outdoor table tops are sticky and it feels like that is from all the cleaning agents mixing with varnish, which feels unpleasant and would be worth a fix.

Good food, bit over priced. Servers were lovely but need more staff, they were run off their feet and couldn’t get to everyone.

Turkish breakfast served without Turkish bread. Got some third time asking. Charged for the bread; charged extra for decafe; charged extra for oatmik. Really! We won't be returning.

I always have a good experience with Bistro Laz. The food is tasty, service is friendly and the price is unbeatable. What else do you want from a local restaurant?

Lovely little place to find after a walk across Hampstead Heath. A perfect day to sit outside in their cosy outdoor seating area. The pizza was fantastic, cooked perfectly and full of flavour, and the service was excellent. If I'm in the area again, I'll definitely come back.

I got the take away chicken wrap. However, I think it was the saltiest chicken wrap I've ever eaten in my life. I wonder if there's any more salt left in the kitchen? Because he threw them all into the wrap I bought. Apart from this, the salads he put in the wrap are rotten and even the tomatoes in the salad he gives with the wrap are rotten. I didn't know if I should be upset that my money was wasted or if I was starving. Please talk to your chef as soon as possible because he may like his food too salty, but please find a middle ground by thinking that not everyone can eat that much salt.

Impromptu lunch and wanted somewhere that allows dogs. Just perfect.

It's fallen apart. This was our favourite restaurant, but the prices have gone through the roof and the flair has gone and the food quality has collapsed. The staff are still delightful but the chef or ownership has obviously changed. Shame.

Lovely Turkish restaurant with an interesting selection of food and also it has a kind of mix menu between Turkish and Italian. The food was delicious, and people were very welcoming.

I had a really pleasant time here, we showed up without booking and got a table right away. The service was quick and efficient! We had a Iskender kebab which as REALLY tasty 😋 the only negative thing I can mention was the wine which wasn’t cold enough for a warm day, but overall a great place.

Laz has, in my opinion, the best balance between choice, quality and ambiance of all the places to eat in this corner of Swains Lane. The food is really very good southern Mediterranean with a decent range of veggie, meat and fish options for all ages. I almost always have the caprese salad. It's just off the Heath, making it the perfect start or end to a day of outdoors family chilling and swimming. The outdoor eating area is peaceful and spacious, and its setting right on the Heath, away from the bustling cluster of the other businesses on Swains Lane is a bonus if you want to stay in that calm of the Heath as much as possible. We've eaten here for almost 20 yrs and in that time Laz has expanded and improved whilst retaining its easy vibe and oasis like essence. It's impressive how they've managed to retain what we love about the place while changing so much. They also somehow have always had lovely staff and the owners (I think), always seem to be visibly involved in front of house, very welcoming and proud of what they do. We visit London every year and spend a lot of time round the Heath and usually eat here 3 or 4 times in a week. Now they've added an ice cream parlour we've yet another reason to not bother going anywhere else.

Awful place. Did not bother ordering after being greeted by an extremely rude server who looked like he was being forced to work there. Will never return. Stay away from this place and save yourself the headache.

Such a lovely little find after visiting Hampstead heath! My pizza was absolutely gorgeous and it was lovely to be sat outside in this weather. Staff very friendly and helpful. highly recommend!!!!

Nice vibe, beautiful and clean place. However the portions are very small( ordered mixed grill) compared to other Turkish restaurants. £23 not worth in my experience. Calamari was average and from frozen. The wine is amazing . The service was really good.

Unfortunately the menu has been changed and the quality is now awful. Prices have gone up however quality is very poor. The pancakes were cold and undercooked, the wrong bread served with cold eggs swimming in yogurt. Coffee used to be lovely but now just a cheap brand. Was a regular but won't return now.

TERRIBLE!! The only good thing about this place is the fact that it’s next to Hampstead Heath. That’s prob the only reason why they’re still going as I find it unbelievable to think they would have any repeat customers. I brought my mum here for dinner, we sat outside and ordered a drink and my espresso martini arrived basically like a glass of coffee. I said this isn’t right and they returned telling me that they had run out of the main ingredient, therefore they knew this and still served it to me. My next order took about 15mins to arrive, a coke arrives first then my alcohol 10mins later. The service is shocking, they weren’t even busy. We ordered the prawns as a starter, my mum was shocked to see that the shells were empty, so was basically like a bowl of sauce and some bread. Our mains were seabass (over cooked and lumpy mash) and fish and chips, both dripping with oil, the chips were as if they came out of the bag in Iceland. The chef has no skill here, the service was non existent once we had ordered. I told them how bad it was, the waitress said it was her first day working there and would let them know. One of her other colleagues overheard this, looked at our table and walked away. The manager never came out and we left soon enough paying £90 and a service charge to top it off. Nobody cares. We will never return, they must rely on clients that visit for convenience/location, they must realise soon enough that most people never return. This part of Hampstead near Swain’s Lane needs a new solid restaurant, this def isn’t it.

Been to this restaurant for lunch. The manager welcomed us very w. The little room inside has no more than 10 tables, the atmosphere is beautiful and you feel well. We had chicken casserole that was fantastic. Meet was perfectly cooked, veggies really tasty. They could have been more generous with rice. Milanese with bolognese was not the best choice. Milanese was good but pasta was over cooked and not tasty. Service is lovely, everyone smiles and make you feel good.

Busy Sunday lunchtime but prompt service. Nice place to sit outside on a sunny day. The pizza with burrata and iskender kebab were both very good.

We stopped here for a late lunch before heading up onto Hampstead Heath. The staff were very welcoming and the food was delicious. We both enjoyed chicken dishes and red wine. The venue had a welcoming feel and was just the right temperature on a rather miserable day. We certainly recommend dining here.

We had the Bistro Laz Special Lamb and it was delicious, with mash and artichokes. The service from Ismet was excellent and then the gelato ice cream was sumptuous.

A very nice atmosphere at the restaurant, with helpful and accommodating staff. I chose the seafood casserole and it was excellent. There was plenty of flesh inside the prawn shells and easy to extract. Definitely recommended if in the area.

As you come down from Hampstead Park, could not miss it. Very nice welcoming with speedy service and positive attitude, very happy. Fish and chips went down nicely, already ate salad on side 😂 Fish was fresh and tasty, looking forward to come next time.

Three of us had lunch here last week. The chicken skewers and pizzas were all fresh and delicious. Even the chilli sauce was ‘home-made’. Service was warm and friendly. We will go back soon.

We went here with friends on their reco, and turned out to be a gem of a place for nice food. Good variety, their Pizza (Formaggi) and Filo Parcels were very tasty.

We have family close by and regularly visit the area and have eaten here in the past. I came with my 2 young children right after a long flight and it wasn’t very busy. However the staff didn’t offer us waters or a menu until after 10 minutes when we asked. There are no vegan options marked on the menu (c’mon Bistro Laz, you can manage that!). Although I have had pasta here in the past I was told (without anyone checking with the chef) that none was vegan- I had to explain the issue would be egg not just cheese. I wasn’t offered any other food. They also couldn’t do a child sized pizza- the kids menu was very limited. We didn’t stay and eat as we felt so unwelcome. Won’t be back, sadly.

We stopped here after stumbling across it for lunch. The food and wine (after a recommendation from the waiter) was lovely & tasty and the service was very friendly and efficient.

Great coffee and wonderful food. Staff are lovely and attentive. There is seating outside as well as inside and outside has flowers and plants creating a sense of privacy and beauty. Love this place.

Awesome place. Great after swimming in the pond :-)

It was busy on Saturday but luckily we managed to get the last table for six outside. The mezes were lovely as we the main courses. The screening round the tables kept the road traffic noise down and the temperature was fine.

Five of us walked from Kentish Town to Highgate Village and up to Parliament Hill, then to Kenwood. We had tried to book for lunch at all the eateries on the way, but no space. We walked into the outside garden at Bistro Laz, and were welcomed with a smile. Great food and rather nice wine. Set us up nicely for the walk back to the house, and cocktails while we enjoyed the Lionesses beating Germany in the Euro final . A day to savor!
