Bismillah in East Hertfordshire

As I approached this venue I couldn't help but see front window completely smashed in and boarded up this should have been a warning sign to stay away. I ordered a biriani and a prawn corma and pilou rice costing £26.00. When I got food home there was not meat in biriani and 4 small prawns.in corma . After complaining I went down next day and asked for refund but they refused. They said that's all you get in there portions. So I went opposite to a proper Indian restaurant just to try their food and the difference was amazing. STAY AWAY FROM THIS BISMILLAH THEY ARE A RIPP OFF.

We've been waiting for food for 2 hours! They also turned off the phones🤬 It looked like the online order was cancelled, we called and they said they were sending it, it's been 2 hours now😡 We lost our money and were hungry!!

I ordered a delivery from here on Uber Eats and just wanted to write a review which I don’t often do because it was a great experience after a hard day. It arrived before the estimated time even though it was a Saturday night and I live outside Hertford in Ware. The lady delivering it was very warm and friendly and the food was delicious. I ordered the chicken with paneer and spinach and a mixed vegetable dish, all flavourful and well cooked. If only all takeaway experiences were like this, thank you! 😊

Excellent customer service, had an issue with our order, it was rectified in minutes, can not fault how they reacted. Fresh ingredients, Prawns to die for!! We have ordered from Indian kitchen/ Bishmillah for years and as always they deliver, great food very highly recommended.

I have used the takeaway for 30 years and always been very pleased with the service, quality of food and value for money. However when ordering this evening I asked how much it was and thought it sounded a lot for what i had ordered. So for the first time ever I decided to check the prices on the menu, (given to me early 2020 with a delivery) to their current website. I was very surprised how much they had increased their prices. For example an onion bhajee on the menu was £2:25, the website quoted £3:25, but when I went to collect the takeaway I was charged £3:95. When I queried this they said a bag of onions had increased a lot in price, really, did they think I was silly! Not even supermarkets have pulled this one! I asked why they were charging a different price to the website and I was told they don’t update it very often and not to go by that! I pointed out it was actually illegal to advertise at one price and charge another the member of staff was nether bothered nor apologetic. When looking at their website it would seem most of the dishes have increased by 15-25%, I find this incredible given they haven’t had to close throughout COVID and have no restuarant overheads given they are a takeaway only eatery. Shame on you, out of principal I will re consider where I get my regular takeaways from in the future!

Chicken is rubbery feels like it’s been frozen , masala sauce was watery , oil coming to surface on the plate. Naan bread so doughy and undercooked it was inedible. Hair on my food Won’t be coming back

I had a delivery. They came in really good time ( less than 40 minutes) and the food was lovely. Would recommend!

Used this place a few times when working in Hertford and I have to say the food is pretty good. The staff are not the most welcoming or friendly bunch though which is a bit of a shame. They usually bang out a free (single) popadam with your order but offer no discount if you collect it yourself which I always do. Come on boys !! Smile once in a while, your food is decent !!!!

Waited an hour for delivery kept phoning & they said 5 mins each time, food finally turned up stone cold chicken was raw & hubby was ill next day , would not recommend

We used to use Bismillah because it had an ok vegetarian menu and a good Kashmiri curry. We had a takeaway last night that was almost inedible - bad tasting poppadoms, tasteless vegetable biriani and two poor vegetable curries. Won't be using it again.

By far the best takeaway Indian in Hertford. If you want a proper Chicken Tikka Masala, this is the place to go. Fresh veggies, lovely starters and they deliver. Really great service, plus the staff are very nice too.

Bismillah has been in Hertford "forever"' and we have recently sampled the delights from this small, very friendly Indian takeaway, l had a Rogan Josh and my wife had Shaslick, both dishes were very tasty, and still piping hot when l arrived home. We also asked for two poppadoms... and we were given four, the naan bread was hot too with crunchy edges,,,,,,, our second trip to Bismillah did not disappoint either,,, I had Lamb tikka, my wife again had Shaslick, just perfect... Finally, it is a very small shop/ takeaway with only four or five seats, space is limited, The owner l suppose, double checks your order and you're away.. Great service, l telephoned first and l was asked if l would like home delivery, so this is not a problem to them..

It's a pity that this tiny takeaway which is patronised by people from the sub-continent, doesn't have an eating area, but the owner has clearly gotten the offering right and the quality of takeaway food surpasses all others in Hertford even outshining the Shahenshah! Chicken Rajastani: simply delicious!

Always difficult to decide - Indian or Chinese in Hertford. Bismillah has a good selection of dishes and the explanation of each dish is good, plus if you are unsure the staff can explain it to you. They deliver locally or you can ring and collect as you pass through. Or call in, place order, pop over the road to Blackbirds or just around the corner in Castle Street to the White Horse and have a swift 1/2 while they cook. Meat is always good quality. I've never had a bad meal from here. Price is similar to other take always but cheaper than the dine in restaurants that also serve take away.

Utilizamos para llevar regularmente cuando nos trasladamos a Hertford hace más de veinte años, pero esto nos mantenía alejados ya que, utilizando otras comida para llevar locales. Regresamos aquí con bastante quedado desilusionados con todos los otros restaurantes indios en Hertford (ninguno de los cuales es tan bueno como los dos en Hatfield que he examinado recientemente). De todos modos, esta fue una buena experiencia. Bismillah estaban muy ocupados temprano en la noche del sábado - claramente una buena señal, así que había un poco de espera pero valió la pena, nos quedamos bastante satisfechos con la comida y una buena relación calidad-precio.

I like the Chicken Jal Massala from their fairly new speciality dishes. It's spicy but sweet and not 'burn your mouth out'. I'm not keen on hot and dry dishes.

I've lived in Hertford for about 5 years now, and everywhere we've lived, we've had a 'favourite'. Bismilah, is ours. They have a varied selection on the menu, which means I genuinely have 3 'favourites' to choose from. Chicken is well cooked, but still moist, and portions are huge. I like mine spicey, and they manage to achieve this but the paste, not by using too many chillies!They can be very busy, but I would whole heartedly recommend them.

One of my family is addicted to Indian takeaway food and he goes for this one every time. They must be doing something right.

Take-Away only, and to be frank, I wishj they would take the whole thing away. The meat is so obviously frozen chunks, and is definitely not infused with the sauces. It tastes as if the meat is fried and the sauce poured on after as an afterthought. Not for me.
