I have visited several times. It is a nice intimate setting. The food and drink is always good, nicely presented. The service is friendly and professional. It has indoor and outdoor seating for meals and drinks. It also has disabled access. It is a really nice place to while away time with friends.

I am surprised the reviews are not higher here. we went out to lunch firstly at Ruxley Manor and was treated like we were sub human. perhaps read the review. Rotten service - we walked out We phoned the club and asked if the public were allowed to come in for lunch. The lad on the end of the phone was very polite and had a nice ring to his happy voice and welcomed us to come in for lunch. We had not booked and easily parked, went into the cafe area and was greeted by Hannah immediately with a smile. She showed us to a table that was not cramped and was very clean. From my first impression of the place I wished that we had gone straight there. There was no pressure to order. We only had sandwiches and one of my cousins requested no cucumber in her sandwich - No Problem!!! yippee - you wouldnt get that at Ruxley!! The food all came in under 5 minutes and lovely golden crispy chips already seasoned. There was no pressure to finish, but Hannah was very attentive and I could see her keeping an eye out to she if she could help. All the staff were smiling and very friendly. Give Hanna a medal and ... the prices are far better and quality of what I saw at Ruxley is far better as well - Well done Birchwood Park - Shame on you Ruxley Manor

Quite nice food and seating, the menu had changed and it wasn't as good as it had been, big television screens here and there.

Ok food. Does the job. Wide selection. Possibly too many dishes. Reasonably prompt service. Staff a little unfocused.

Stopped off with friends for afternoon tea & cake, lovely, fresh and clean decor, very pleasant staff, reasonable prices, lovely outside seating but couldn’t use as it was raining. Viewed menu, varied snacks, Sunday carvery and Friday fish & chips available. Will definitely return to try out main meals with the family .

A group of 8 family members went for breakfast last Monday, staff member at the till took 4 attempts to take our order and became quite impatient with us, quite rude. Scrambled eggs were overcooked, hard and dry, we asking them to replace them with a fried egg and they too came overcooked and hard. bill came to around £75 which, when considering four of the people were children, we thought was quite steep. We won't be returning.

After playing golf here a spot of lunch is fantastic. The food on offer is always enjoyable. The staff are efficient and look after their customers and surroundings. Highly recommended!

Visited on a Friday evening with the family as a break from cooking at home. Perfectly acceptable food for a cafe/grill of this type. Decent selection on the menu with Fish specials as it was a Friday. I had the pie of the day, which was Chicken Mushroom and Tarragon with mash and peas which was very tasty, my wife had the half a roast chicken, and my son had the pulled pork burger which looked, and apparently tasted very good. My daughter had the chargrilled chicken strips from the childrens menu, and we were all happy with our food and drinks. Quite reasonably priced as well. Will definitely return

Been to a christning reception today at the Birchwood. Afternoon tea, terrible service waited nearly all afternoon for a cup of tea, teabag placed in cup then waited ages for hot water. Scones came out no butter jam or cream. One plate of finger sandwiches between 10 and a plate of frozen bite size cakes. I know it was New year eve but felt this was a complete rip off

We were told to arrive at 7.30pm and dinner would be served at 8pm. It took over 30 minutes to get a drink from the bar. We were sat down ready for dinner as told but the starters did not arrive until almost 9pm. The portions were minuscule. The main arrived about an hour later. The turkey was very dry and again the portions were minuscule. The quality of the food was very poor. The dessert chocolate fudge cake was very dry and stale and had clearly been sliced and put on plates and left in a fridge for hours. Maybe if it had been served with pouring cream the staleness could have been hidden. All evening in order to get a drink there was at least a 20 minute wait. We were sat right by the door nearest the foyer and it was very cold and some of the guests wore their coats all night. Of course in the end we all left early. Where we were seated was a corridor where every one had to pass. The staff at the bar were inadequate and inexperienced. The staff serving were also inadequate and inexperienced and to try to get anyone's attention was an impossibility. We tried to join in with the dancing to warm up but the dance floor was way too small the amount of people there. We paid £41.50 per person for a measly starter, dried up Turkey and stale cake. The quality of the food was very poor and the service matched. The poorest Christmas event I have ever attended. Not recommended.

I met five friends for lunch and catch up on Thursday 7 December. Lunch was very good but impossible to be hear each other speak. A wedding party was having drinks in between lunchtime diners tables so close you couldn't move your chair and the waiting staff had trouble delivering the meals. The noise got louder the more they drank. Then the MC would shout at the top of his voice for the wedding guests to have their photos taken. Surely it is not beyond the club to find somewhere for the wedding guests to wait rather than disturbing diners who were there for a quiet lunch! Would not recommend the club unless you check beforehand to see if there is a function on.

Being a golf club they offer loads of food to suit the super hungry just walked 18 golfers. They offer a good choice of food including the classic Sunday roast or steak & chips or for breakfast they give great portions of chips and fresh cut ham straight from the bone! If you are looking for large value for money portions then definitely a good choice. Be careful of the chips though they are lovely but extremely hot!

They call themselves a cafe/bar grill, to me it is midway between a pub and a restaurant, with a canteen layout, it is reasonable both for food and prices. They are on a large site and cater mainly for golfers and members of the fitness centre, but anyone can eat there, there is lot of parking. They have a standard menu and you can get everything from a sandwich or bun up to a full meal, they also have a specials board where you can get old favourite such as fish and chips, liver and bacon and more exotic food. Lunchtimes it can be very busy, usually early evenings there is plenty of room. In the winter they close for food about 5pm, in the summer it closes at 7 pm. The site has just completed a very expensive upgrade but this has not made any changes to the food side that I can detect.

Even though we had booked several days before when we turned up at Birchwood they had no record of our booking. Fortunately it wasn't overly busy so a table was found for us. What was important about pre-booking was to point out that one of the diners had an allergy and so no record of booking, no record of the allergy. The place itself is very nice but when we ordered our food and drinks it did feel like we were putting the waiting staff out rather. The food then arrived. Our main concern was that the person with the allergy didn't get the food with garlic in it, but the plates were just put on the table and when we asked which had garlic there was a bit of confusion! Fortunately neither had garlic! I had the gammon which was tough and I had to give up on it, and two of us had the hot smoked mackerel salad. The mackerel on one of them was inedible. On the bright side its a lovely bright restaurant, my parents enjoyed their food, and we were left to stay as long as we liked. I would say it doesn't seem to know what it is yet, there were a lot of golfers milling around having events (it is of course a golf club) which was fine, but there was a fair bit of shouting which was bizarre for my elderly parent's birthday lunch. I have also had b'fast there previously and that was very good, so I'm not giving up yet.

Nothing special. Was quite disappointed at the price of the breakfast compared to the quality. Wouldn't return, there's much better places close by to have breakfast.

Went yesterday to find the place is all boarded up. I don't know if it is shut for refurbishment or if it has shut down permanently. This is the second coffee shop I used that has been closed. My favourite was Costa in Waterstones. That's gone too.

Oh my, where to begin, queuing up the lady in front of me had her phone payment declined, the man kept shouting at her saying "NatWest no work" and she kept saying its not Natwest, her husband stepped in and paid with a card but the rudeness of the man behind the till was amazing and I should have left then. We orders kids nuggets and kids burger with chips and two drinks for £16. This is what we got for the nuggets (£5.15), a child next to us had proper nuggets and I asked the waitress why they were different and she said "I don't know, probably ran out" and walked off, so I believe what we got were fillet bites on the menu, however the inside of the nuggets was pure nasty and not identifiable as meat, 5 overcooked lumps of something and greasy chips. Went back in and there was another queue as the man behind the till was off on one again so I had no chance to interrupt and complain. We escaped and went elsewhere, plenty of food left on the other tables and I am guess not from having excessive portion sizes. I ate in this place a few years back and it was OK but since the refurb and change it's really gone down hill. I should have been suspicious when there are only a handful of tables out on a sunny September day and a kids park full of 100s of kids next to it, guess the locals have given up on this place. I believe this is connected to a restaurant in Bromley so I hope the owners read these reviews and make an effort to sort it out or give the lease back to the council so someone else can have a better go.
