Amazing place, every time we’ve been all of it has been delicious! Service always great too - highly recommend, one of the best places to eat in Brighton!! Book in advance for sure.

The food is nothing less than sublime, the atmosphere is busy but relaxed, the service is friendly and without formality, the prices are reasonable. This is the very definition of a hidden gem. I've been there a few times, and remain exited whenever I manage to secure a booking.

Simply faultless, first time and i am going to throw it out there, probably the nicest food i have had out in Brighton in my lifetime, fresh to order, all tastes incredible, service was brilliant, the Sea Bream Tempura on the Specials with that sauce that comes with it was mental! Hidden gem! 100% be going back. Think Oriental Tapas.

This is my absolute favourite restaurant in Brighton. Everything is scrumptious. Delicious small plates of tasty treats. Even the plain rice is yummy. Getting a booking is hard and there's a reason. I've managed to get a few walk-in appointments before, so worth chancing if you're passing and you're not a big party. The staff are lovely. The only tiny qualm I have is the floor is v skiddy and the toilets need a good clean. But... It's still my fave place for food. My mouth is watering thinking about it now. God that Seabream tempura! 😋😋😋

Easy to see why this place is so popular, fantastic japanese food and great service. Every dish we had was incredibly tasty and they also have a nice variety of drinks.

Have wanted to come here for my last two trips but the place was always fully booked. We dropped by on the off chance and they were able to fit us in for a last minute reservation. After a few local bees we went back for the best small plate experience. The service was friendly and prompt. Very relaxed and casual. They have a great selection of drinks to go with the great food

Absolutely delicious, incredibly well prepared and immaculately executed Japanese classics and innovative specials. Service is fantastic, the front of house team are always incredibly welcoming and knowledgeable. The house sake is also definitely worth a go for the full experience. Sitting at the bar watching and chatting with the brilliant cooks is one of the best dining experiences in Brighton. Second to none in the city for what they do.

Little gem in Brighton. Great Japanese grill food. Loved all food and drinks on the menu that we tried. Only thing is its hard to catch/book a table on weekends.

It’s just the best. It’s incredible, amazing, wonderful, delicious. GO. Only moan is it’s small and difficult to get a table (due to the reasons above). However the vibe is great. Maybe they should open another branch 😊

One of my faves so far in Brighton, the food was lovely and so was the wine. The second we finished eating I already wanted to come back again to try something new. I can honestly say, hand on my heart, this was the best meal I've ever had. I've stayed at 5 star hotels, eaten at some of the best restaurants around the world but the food here was second to none. We had : Chicken thighs Chicken hearts Pork belly (X2 because we just couldn't get enough) Chicken skin Kimchi Korean cucumber Karaage And 2 different sakes and a yuzushu. Let's start with the taste, the food was incredible, tender yet crispy, smoke and sweet it was a perfect balance between the 2. The pork belly was the real star for me, how it was so tender it was as if slow cooked yet so crispy it felt like fries on the outside I will never understand. There wasn't any part of this meal that was a let down with the exception that the karaage was overshadowed by how simply amazing the yakitori were. If you're coming here don't make the mistake of forgetting the name. It's Bincho Yakitori, not Bincho Karaage. That being said, the karaage was still delicious just not on the same level as the yakitori. The price? Really reasonable, the portions fill you up nicely, and there is a great selection of choices with the drinks. Including the pleasure of being presented with an overflowing cup (the symbolism was not lost on me) I 100% reccomend sitting at the counter if you can, being able to watch these chefs do what they do best and even being handed the food by them straight from the grill, pan or fryer is something truly special. It was like being given a glimpse into a world where magic happens. I left my umbrella behind by accident and ran back and they were very quick to help me recover it, thank you to our server with the braces (my apologies I never caught your name) she was amazing and helped to ensure that the whole experience was a success, always serving with a smile ( I work in a 5* hotel I know good service and that was it!!) We will be coming back again, I could not recommend Bincho Yakitori more, Thank you chefs and team this was truly something special

On recommendation we booked well in advance. The restaurant, i assume purposefully, looks simple and basic from the outside. Inside its shabby chic, the staff are excellent, attentive and they never stop moving. The food was great. Asian tapas style. Most things are deep fried, so its heavy on the calories, but tastes great. Def will be back.

An absolute all time favourite. Have tried it a few times now and it never seems to disappoint. The flavours are bursting, everything is cooked to order so it’s warm and hearty. Can’t fault it. Amazing value, we end up ordering half the menu! Honestly, if you ask around people will tell you to go, not one to miss. Great way to try something out of your comfort zone to, like chicken hearts! Wow. If you need a place with quality food and a great atmosphere then definitely give them a go.

Wow, this is a excellent Japanese tapas restaurant! The place is small so booking is essential, we visited mid week and it was fully booked and people were being turned away. The staff are friendly, helpful and polite but the food is the star. So tasty, well flavoured and excellent! You can chose 2/3 dishes from the menu but also ask for some more (if you have room!) It was lovely to be told to take our time and relax and just enjoy. I'd love to go back and try more good food.

Good service. Food was amazing. I recommend getting 6 plates for 2 ppl (so 3 per person). The pork belly yakitori was amazing. They also have off menu foods. Highly recommend!!

Reception/front of house very poor. Tables far too close together. First sitting of the evening 5pm, did our first couple of dishes taste very slightly of lighter fuel or fire lighters or was it the marinade? Got charged for hot water, the food is quite salty so need 3 cups at 90p per cup!! They serve small plates and finger food so why did I have to ask for hand wipes after the chicken wings and the waitress looking so surprised. She even asked if we needed 2, i.e one each!! Then something the size of a postage stamp arrived. Overall very disappointed and will not recommend it. Better places in Brighton for a similar price.

Yakitori from here is amazing and authentic, the atmosphere is unique, give a feeling that I traveled to Japan. We have order tomato salad and yakitori dishes. Recommend: Yakitori squid, chicken meatballs with egg yolk, chicken skin. The wine list is various, a lot of wine from Japan that you can try here. It is difficult to book, the restaurant is really popular, will suggest to prebook at least two weeks in advance. The location is near Churchill square.

My husband and I dined at this restaurant for dinner, ordering yakitori, potato salad, and karage. Unfortunately, the karage was somewhat dry and lacked juiciness, while the potato salad struck us as excessively salty and served ice cold. We weren't sure if this is typical for Japanese potato salad. However, the saving grace was the yakitori, which was delicious.

Really cool vibe in here. Recommend the bar seating option for a bit of sightseeing as you get to watch the chefs in action. Being able to peruse all the amazing dishes that come out to get your appetite going is nice entertainment! It's a little bit cramped by UK standards but compared to some of the spots in Tokyo this is like a mansion 😉 The food is really high quality. The prices are not unreasonable for the variety and quality of the items. Seafood items are delicate and fresh, deep fried dishes are crisp but light, melt in your mouth pork belly, juicy and tender karage... I could go on. We got a variety of dishes and each of them was great. Bill for 2 pre tip came to £90 total for a pretty filling meal without alcohol. When I am not driving, I would love to hit up their drinks menu for their variety of Japanese liquors. The staff here are friendly, attentive and fun. Walk in seating is tough, so it's best you book in advance to guarantee a spot, especially with a larger group. Definitely recommend giving this place a visit.

Lovely place, foods were delicious and all waitresses were cheerful and helpful. My chance I was alone, and they popped me inside without reservation. But don't try to visit there without reservation.

Food was absolutely amazing! However our experience was overshadowed by the service and other diners. Service was a bit slow- we were seated before other larger groups and served much later on. Unfortunately tables either side of us were extremely loud and rude to the point we could not hear our own conversation.

So glad we found this gem of a restaurant! We had the chicken meatballs with egg yolk dip, quail eggs wrapped in bacon, grilled squid, pork belly, and chicken skin skewers, aubergine with miso paste, garlic rice, plus a flight of sake alongside, and dessert of white chocolate, yuzu & macha fingers. Everything was sublime!

Magnifique. Super friendly staff !!! Food amazing. Nice surrounding. will def go again . The small plate tapas style were delicious, especially the pork belly and the cucumber salad. All around great experience and if you are in the area don't hesitate to go to indulge in a culinary journey.

Managed to fit us in as a walk as luckily for us a table of the same size just called to cancel their reservation. Big props to the lovely lady who took it upon herself to plan us a feast as we were so hungry and excited to be there we were just after a recommendation, please work out who that was and give her a big well done as we forgot to catch her name. Plate after plate of delicious, thoughtful food, lots of sake and my new favourite, plum wine. So grateful for the experience, recomend to all

AMAZING place, we heard so much about it before we came and it didn't disappoint. We had the sea bream tempura which was insane, the jumbo prawns and the salmon yakitori were all the best, everything was so so good. Alina who was our server was soo nice and chatty and all the food and drinks were brought out really speedily, they were all so flavoursome and we both loved it. Will defo be returning thank you!! 😊

Me and my partner went there for our anniversary and it absolutely lived up to the hype. Beautiful food that's so simple yet so brilliant, lightning fast service and we particularly enjoyed being served by Alina, she was great. This place is a MUST try!

You need to book well in advance if you want to be choosy with the time and date you visit - but gosh is it worth the wait!!!! Bincho Yakitori lived up to the hype. Reasonably priced Japanese and Korean-inspired small plates that really pack a punch with every bite. I was impressed by all the dishes I tried, but standouts were the chicken skins, Korean cauliflower, and the specials; hispi cabbage with black garlic sauce, and matcha green tea ice cream for dessert. There’s also an extensive drinks menu. The Yuzu lager was zesty and refreshing, and the Sake I enjoyed afterwards was so crisp and delicate. I can’t wait to try more!! Overall, I can’t fault Bincho. The service was friendly and fast, and the atmosphere was ambient and buzzing. Looking forward to the next visit already 😍

The food was above average, the service below average and the price was average. I have no idea why it’s so popular but you can probably save yourself the bother and go somewhere else.

One star less is because I felt rushed as I only had less than 1 hour to eat. Very hard to book a table at the time you want as it’s always fully booked. So it’s not a place where you can come as you wish, needs planning in this restaurant. Good taste of food but some dishes have the same flavours, but I love the chicken skin to start with. I would come here again. As the food is great, and great music too!

One of the best places I’ve tried in my life! I think I might take a trip to Brighton again just to try the place. From the vibe, music, the food and drinks selection. Everything is cooked to perfection. Next time I’m going to try every single item on the menu. If you are in Brighton this should be on top of your list to try. 100% reservation is needed but they might accept walkins.

Finally we got to try this place! The small restaurant reminded me of the ones we went to in Osaka. Small, intimate, not pretentious, all about the food and great service. We came here for my birthday and I wanted to sit by the bar and watch the action in the kitchen. We both had sake and it was a good selection to compliment the small dishes that came out as and when ready. - Aubergine & miso -just melted in your mouth - chicken spring onion, chicken thigh, chicken skins, pork belly - all were cooked to perfection and the crispy chicken skins were so moreish. - specials were king prawns and they were big and tasty. - cauliflower - punchy and delicious - tofu teriyaki - crispy and chunky and great flavour - kimchi rice - give me some more! - white chocolate yuzu & green tea finger - light and not too sweet We really enjoyed the food and will definitely come back. I spoke to other diners who had been numerous times before and they were singing praises how good it is. There are so many small plates establishments, and this is definitely up there with Palmito. I can’t wait to go back!

Went in without booking. Was lucky to get a table because the restaurant got busy really quickly! We ordered Japanese fried chicken, chick spring onion skewers, chicken hearts skewers, chicken skin skewers and squid skewers. My favourite was the squid skewers. Tender and juicy. Service was actually good given how busy it was.

3 star because the lovely waitress . Got us in without booking. This place is popular, for the local. But food, is very so so. I tried a few, all disappointed. Tare source is salty and heavy, no obvious Binchoton grill Unami, chicken meat taste cheap, no crisp skin, meatball is very salty , rice cake - well the rice is too wet , and has no taste. So, this so called best place in Brighton, is again because locals or the British has no exposure to real Japanese food. Many of them order fired chicken. Come on 😅.

Delicious food straight from the grill/fryer to you across the bar Friendly helpful service and great atmosphere. One bit of constructive criticism would be to keep on top of minor repairs,like the broken hooks under the bar for ladies with hand bags a small detail but makes a difference. One of the best meals we’ve had, for a very reasonable price. Also, I wish we had got the name of our server, they were a young student in their first year, they had an incredible personality and were very informative, even went into detail on each sake we had in our sake flight. Was glad that this was the first place I’ve seen in the uk that had a tip option - they deserved it!

I don’t know how many times I’ve visited this yakitori. First of all friendly staff, nice atmosphere, reasonable price yet high quality food. Everything’s perfect. You don’t need my recommended dishes, but do worry about if you have big enough appetite. Garlic rice, fried cauliflower, and chicken skin are those you can’t miss since I order them EVERYTIME. Their chicken skin sold out again today so you know how popular they are. It’s a MUST try if you like yakitori!!

Unbelievable dishes coming out of this restaurant. Barbecued plates of the highest order. Pork belly and sweetcorn are particular standouts. Other favs included the Lamb chops, aubergine in miso sauce and the cauliflower. No wonder you have to book months ahead! Go now!

The food here is unbelievable. Pork belly, Cauliflower, Chicken Kara-age, Korean Chicken wings, Lamb chops, Aubergine and Miso - everything tastes amazing, it's hard to pick a favourite dish. It is a small restaurant but has a nice atmosphere and the staff are always so friendly and explain the menu. The value for money is incredible, you can't believe the price when the bill comes for the quality and amount of food you get.

I've been multiple times and always enjoyed my experience. Yes it's cramped, but the service has always been good and since they have their online system its a lot easier to book (though usually a month or so in advance). The food is good, though the most recent time I wasn't as blown away, maybe it wad a bad day. We were sat at the front, across from the bar, which I nice and bright compared to being out the back, though as people come in they insist on standing right next to you instead of standing by the door. I'm not sure if I'll go back after my most recent visit, but if you've not been before I definitely recommend.

Brilliant atmosphere and environment, fantastic service, and truly delicious food and drink. The chicken skins, quail egg and bacon, sweet potato with miso butter, and kara-age were all highlights, as was the sake sampler which gives you three small pours of different varieties of sake. Wonderful. Fully recommend.

It was late, Saturday night and we walked past this awesome yakitori place. We walked in and there were fabulous tunes playing and the man behind the counter told us they were closing, just as we were turning around he offered us to stay for a saki and a bowl of edamame. It was the highlight of our night.

Pork belly was our favourite. Everything is good. Staff are lovely. It was full when we arrived but they called us after a short time and managed to fit us in. Sake taster was a nice option.

Apparently a very happening place. And I’d have to agree. Randomly searched for over 4.5 and above closest to me and this was suggested. I called and they said no availability but turned up and luckily one seat was just about available. After a bit of a shuffle I sat and ate a delicious series of Yakitori. Stand out was the corn, order an extra egg yolk to dip your meats and have it with the garlic rice. After a month spent in Japan, this is just as good if not better than the best I had in Tokyo. Sorry bout it!

Booked for my birthday. Got seated at the bar and we loved it! Amazing food great service!! Recommend the pork belly and the prawns they were amazinggg! We had already book for July before we left the restaurant!! Great price too. Absolutely recommended

Bincho is a magical gateway into an izakaya somewhere in Japan mixed with Brighton shabby-chic charm. This unique tiny place offers simple and perfectly executed little dishes served to you when ready, all with smiles and efficiency. Good choice of not-too-loud music adds to the general atmosphere, drink selection is wonderful and yes, we'll certainly come back. A couple of minor points for improvement: 90 minutes is too short of a time limit for the pace in which the meal proceeds. I understand the need to limit dining time, but 2 hours would be more appropriate, especially when we saw diners at the bar offered longer dining time. The online booking system was also quite clunky.

What an incredible place! As a vegetarian I didn't feel like I was missing out at all. Stand out dishes had to be the cauliflower and the aubergine, so much flavour! The vibe here is cool and relaxed. Serving staff were attentive and happy to guide us through the menu. A very special place indeed!

Amazing Japanese tavern in Izakaya style. Delicious grilled food and you can try some japanese beer, sake or wine. My favourite were hearts and lettuce, seaweed salad with salmon. We loved watching chefs cooking while we were sitting on the counter. Definitely coming again soon! I was here again after few months and enjoyed it so much! Amazing food, atmosphere and the best is watching chefs preparing your food!

I hadn't been for years due to Covid getting in the way, but it's still great. Really nice atmosphere, lovely staff, perfect food.

Not Recommended For Asian Customers. This place use to be our go to in Brighton, but have seen change in the restaurant’s attitude towards Asians. By comparison the white customers sitting next to us receive warm welcome and frequently checked up, but all our table get was stone face and rolling eyes from her, the chubby middle age female waiter. And having to wait 10 mins for her to come back for our orders while the white customers at the other table were being checked by her and served like 5 times.

Our first Japanese dining experience, and one we'd love to repeat! Get the ribs, if they're on the specials menu - so tender and tasty! Honourable mention for the pork belly skewers, but everything was good. Including the Japanese beer. Tables were a bit close together - oh well.
