Binary Bar & Restaurant in Derby

Unfortunately, our birthday meal at this restaurant was quite disappointing. After receiving our starter, the main course took over 30 minutes to arrive. The service was slow all evening and, when asked about our meal, our comments seemed to go unheard. The server's disingenuous response and the added service charge only added to our frustration. I emailed the restaurant afterward and was simply told they would inform the chef. This is fairly poor service for the price we paid, comparable to a fast-food experience. Very disappointing. I won’t be back to this restaurant or any other ls in the group anytime soon

Recommended by friends so popped in for dinner and drinks, interior was beautiful , atmosphere was so lovely. Sam on the bar was so welcoming and attentive he insured we were aware of all deals that were on and our server Maddison was so efficient ensuring we had everything we needed to make the evening perfect.

Really impressive breakfast menu with a range of dishes and drinks on offer. I opted for the blueberry compote pancakes which were delicious! Service was excellent throughout the visit and Jude was very attentive and welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble and she was very helpful. We will definitely be returning as felt the service, food and value for money were all great!

The Binary is a lovely pub in the heart of Mickleover. Great food, great ambience, FANTASTIC staff. We chose to celebrate our anniversary here as we have never had anything other than great experiences here. They did not disappoint- great food, fantastic service and an excellent setting. The staff are friendly and will do anything to make your experience better. We have been coming to the Binary since it opened and it is, by a very long way, the best pub in Mickleover.

Had a long morning travelling from Manchester to derby, my sister bought me here for some lunch before I travelled back. The food & service was amazing, the restaurant was slightly busy but the staff was on point with service so we didn’t wait long at all to be seated & served. I would like to just say also that we was served by a lovely woman I think her name was Jude. Honestly she was super friendly & accommodating, thank you so much

We were a large group of work colleagues visiting for Brunch. We were shown to a great area upstairs which was fairly private and meant we didn’t disturb other diners. Lovely environment and the whole place has a great feel to it. The food and drinks were served by a great little team who were friendly and accommodating. I had the Full English which was superb and beautifully cooked. I was definitely stuffed after! Everyone else seemed to enjoy their meals and they all looked lovely. Must make a special mention for Jakob and the 2 Sams. They were all great and coped with our banter well. Jacob especially kept us all entertained and we loved his sense of humour. Definitely a great asset to the restaurant. Will most definitely be back.

Visited the Binary with an old friend yesterday for a long overdue catch up. The food tasted and looked phenomenal, and the ambience was just right. Service from Rav and Jude was excellent and very accomodating - no rush and we were allowed to linger as long as we wanted . Will definitely visit again

Just been for afternoon tea for our mums Mother’s Day gift and was absolutely wonderful. Service was great and atmosphere really nice and bubbly. Jacob our waiter was both charming and charismatic and a real delight to have at our table. Cakes were really good and the mini quiche was delicious. Defo worth a visit if you’re in the area or out for a special occasion.

Really disappointed with The Binary and will not be returning. The staff were friendly, look like they work really hard and the place looks lovely, but the food was massively over priced and lacked any quality - I have had better for a lot less money. The restaurant itself is loud and so you cannot hear yourself speak let alone have a conversation… the bar down stairs is no better. Sorry, we won’t be back. To top off the disappointing experience, we had the unfortunate experience of sitting near to a couple that think passionate kissing and PDA’s in general are acceptable in a restaurant… it really put us off our meal having to unavoidably listen to and attempt to avoid seeing that…

Terrible guys sorry. Too loud, expensive for what it is. If you want a quiet meal go elsewhere. We couldn’t hear each other speak and the couple making out was totally off.

Had a lovely first experience at the binary for breakfast this morning. All staff absolutely wonderful and our server Judith was especially helpful, not a single bad word to say.

The atmosphere was relaxing, drinks menu well explained so we got the most for our money. The breakfast was delicious both vegetarian and normal. Jude excellent, nothing was too much trouble; very friendly and attentive. We will be back.

This was my first visit, it was such a lovely atmosphere, the food was great and brilliant value. We were served by Jude and she went over and above with the service and made sure we were happy with where she had seated us and explained to us the menu and told us about refillable drinks etc. I’ll definitely be visiting again.
