Bill's Restaurant in Bath and North East Somerset

Came in for lunch on the off chance and couldn’t have been more pleased. Surprised at how many GF options there were too! Went for the classic burger (GF) which was yummy. Alessia who looked after me made me feel really comfortable when ordering- especially when it came to GF options and making sure everything was taken care of. Would highly recommend! Give it a try if you’re in Bath. I’ll definitely be back to try their GF brunch options too!

Overall excellent experience. Food was tasty and fresh and staff friendly. They were surprisingly busy for a Thursday day time, but they have been incredibly accommodating and found us a table regardless. Couldn’t recommend more highly.

Big fan of Bills in general and often pop in for brunch when in London for work. Visited the Bath branch during a weekend away with my partner, and have to say it didn’t disappoint. Service was top notch and food consistent with what I’d expect of Bills. All in all, deffo worth a visit- especially for a spot of brunch before visiting the Roman Baths or other nearby spots!

Good place for a varied selection of standard dishes. Probably more suitable as a lunchtime place. Service was so bad from totally uninterested servers.

I came with my husband and daughter for breakfast today. It’s my first day out of hospital after being really unwell so I was quite nervous and overwhelmed. Our waiter was absolutely fantastic. He really interacted with our 2 year old daughter asking her what she would like off the menu which made her feel so special. The food was fantastic. We ordered two Bill Brunches and then pancakes for the little one. I asked for the bacon to be really well cooked, everything was cooked perfectly. We thoroughly enjoyed it. It was a great experience. Thank you so much

This place is central to everything in Bath. Our food was good and staff was great! After dinner, we walked across the street to the Roman Baths. A perfect evening.

I have visited Bills several times over the past few years usually before the rugby. Visited again this Sunday for breakfast and were lucky it wasn’t too busy as we didn’t have a booking. We ordered a breakfast and coffees. The food arrived fairly quickly, I would say the breakfast is average, quite expensive for what you get and it’s hit and miss as to if it’s hot or cold. This time it was hot which was a bonus. Our drinks still hadn’t arrived so we chased these up. The latte arrived in the wierdest of cups, it looked like a tea light candle holder and held no more than a few mouthfuls which was not good value for money. To be fair to the staff, this was taken off my bill when I raised this and they explained there weren’t any latte glasses left. I have had amazing meals here and on other occasions things have been missing or stone cold, but the staff will always try to remedy if there are issues which is a huge bonus point and why I have given a 4, as on the food alone it would be a 3. The staff are a credit to Bills here. I do find it quite noisy as the music competes with the diners chatting. I will return and my advice is if you aren’t happy with the food raise the issue with staff who will sort it for you.

Recommended as a great chain diner. When you compare Bill's Bath to Spoons Bath, you have to ask the question "why pay twice the price for leather chicken and gravy granules masquerading as 'jus' ??? " A plus point is that the imported Normandy Sassy cider is brilliant.

Centrally located easy to find even for those unfamiliar with Baths pedestrian centre. Relaxed welcoming atmosphere simple menu, great value catering for all ages, ideal for 8+ and beyond busy ambience helpful friendly staff all well organised and managed, cater well for parties booking recommended Bills big Brunch is a sound recommendation. Casual attire, a new go to place in Bath ideal for a meal or lunch before a Bath Rugby match.

Lovely food and cocktails. Nico the waiter was excellent-attentive and professional plus friendly. My only criticism would be the pudding-I had a salted caramel dessert and there was actual salt on top! I just scraped the salt off but it was a little off-putting.

Lovely place to have breakfast. You can pre-book or just turn up. Nice selection on the menu, and the food is good. The guy who was serving was extremely helpful, polite and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. He handled special requests with no question, and no hassle. Would definitely recommend

The service was friendly and prompt, but that was sadly overshadowed by the poor quality of the 2 meals we ordered for lunch today 17/6. My chicken Caesar salad was tasteless - with the small shreds of chicken and the lettuce sitting in a watery residue in the dish. I couldn’t detect any parmesan and it did miss the salty anchovies which normally come in a Caesar salad. The embossed ornate serving dish (green lettuce shapes) was badly chipped in lots of places around the rim - it looked like it had been picked up from a jumble sale, and was something which would normally be slung out, even in a domestic kitchen. I’d say probably a health hazard too as the chipped areas were not glazed and unable to be washed properly. Our server agreed and said he was going to ask the kitchen to bin it! My husband had the Bill’s brunch, mostly ok although nothing better than that, but the black pudding was inedible, solid on one side, like a little hard biscuit. We were there about 12:30, so guess it had maybe been left sitting under the heat lamp, a breakfast leftover. When we politely responded to the usual “how is everything?” our server was very apologetic and offered two coffees on the house. Not a big deal, but we won’t be back again.

Went for lunch on Tuesday June 5th, Bill's is really dog friendly, and the staff were great.Really good food and reasonable prices. We would definitely eat here again if we came back to Bath.

Went this morning for breakfast, Service by NICO and his colleague was exemplary, v friendly and catered for all or needs, Breakfast was superbly cooked and fresh. Catered for one of our party who has disability issues. Will def be back when next in BATH

This is a late review which I apologise for but a promise is a promise. I came here on a Saturday night in January, it was nice and busy with such a lovely ambiance. We were looked after very well, food was delicious, so thanks to all and especially the Manager. Us girls had a great evening and hope to return again soon. Highly recommended!!

Amazing! We went here for a late breakfast and then got noticed the deserts and had to try them. The breakfast was lovely, really well cook and presented. The deserts were amazing, you could even eat the pot! and the ban-offee was super! It had funky decor and the staff were brilliant. Overall recommended.

We came with a very large party of 49, for a cream tea, and it was a wonderful experience. Not only were the scones very fresh and tasty, but the staff were kind, efficient and very helpful. I highly recommend this restaurant and thank you again!

We have been to Bill's (Bath) a few times for breakfast and lunch and the staff are friendly and efficient, food is excellent and comes promptly. Staff do an amazing job and work incredibly well together. I complemented the manager of their team's hard work last time we were there, and she said i made her day! We would have the garden plate, traditional breakfast, juice and a banana colada. Lunch we had pancakes, macaroni cheese and halloumi fries. The sauce that came with the halloumi was amazing! Would recommend booking in advance for any restaurant in Bath, especially during school holidays as it gets very busy with tourists, thankfully with Bills you can book online through their website and it'll text and email you your reservation details.

Lovely lunch as we’d expect from Bill’s. Delighted to be given a dedicated gluten-free menu with a large choice and for the staff to be so allergy aware.

Went in for 11am brunch with family on Saturday. Restaurant was packed and feared food service might take a while - it turned up about 1 hour later only after a prompt having waited patiently. Food was good quality when it did turn up tho and they took some drinks off the bill. Clear they overbook and kitchen cannot cope which speaks of poor management and planning. This place is fine if don’t mind it taking 90 mins!

We visited recently with our dog and unfortunately got sat right next to a huge party of 20-25 people who were incredibly noisy, disruptive and kept popping balloons. We purposefully came for a very early dinner to ensure it wouldn't be too noisy for our dog who is very chilled and well behaved, but also can't be left at home alone. And when I saw they had a dog menu on their website (which we didn't get offered either) I thought it'd be a safe place for him to be. But when the group next to us started popping balloons he got really stressed out and I had to leave. Another table next to us also was getting frustrated with them but the waitress said there was nothing she could do about it. It's disappointing when people can't be aware of other people, but I think the staff could have asked them to just stop popping the balloons. So my feedback to Bills would be: Either be dog friendly and ensure it's a safe space for everyone, or don't be dog friendly. A party of 25 is too many to be in a restaurant and they should have gone somewhere and got their own function room.

Staff were so friendly and helpful. Gave some great tips and meal recommendations. We ordered the dumplings and cheese fondue for starters which was delicious and then chicken two ways and bourbon beef burger for mains. Food was served aesthetically and was lovely and warm. I didn’t get the name of the waitress but she was so attentive and kind and so smiley. Bills is also awesome cause they accept 20% off food with a Blue Light Card!

We have been here twice recently and on both occasions the poached eggs and chips were stone cold! Other diners complained about cold food too. I'm guessing the food was hot when cooked therefore it's an issue with the waiting staff not responding quickly enough. Fed up with this now and will not return.

Bills bar is a busy venue. Due to this, it is a very disappointing venue for bottomless brunch. Glasses of Prosecco are served in small measures, meaning we had to constantly ask for a refill from the already busy staff. Not only did this make us feel awkward – but we then had to wait a considerable time for another drink. The website had not been updated so when the bill came, it was more than we had expected – plus a 12. 5% service charge was added. Not value for money.

I ordered the fish pie for main which was £16.95 of mashed potato with one or two prawns and a tiny bit of fish. There were no vegetables and i gave up half way through as i had eaten enough mash. I had a glass of red which they said was 175ml but was nowhere near that and probably closer to 125ml. I am not being unkind but at £7.50 per glass it was a very expensive small glass of wine. Really disappointing experience which i won't repeat.

Only in Bath for one night and wanted food and drinks but also looking for something a little bit different. Quirky decor, lovely and helpful staff and delicious and unusual food at a great price.

Pretty mediocre. Very busy when we arrived but we booked a table. Ordered our drinks and food. Drinks took a little while to come food was okay for time. Ordered two garlic and chilli flatbreads as sides and had two rosemary ones arrive. We let the waitress know and they had to get the manager. All they did (we even overheard the manager say it to the waiter) was take the plate back to the kitchen and add some chilli oil to the same one - no garlic in sight. Food was okay, maybe a bit on the pricy side for what you get. My burger wasn’t cooked the best. They also add a 12.5% top automatically to the bill - mentioning no where on the menu, so you would feel awful asking them to take it off. Wouldn’t really recommend. Our waitress was absolutely amazing so can’t fault her. But the food/service from others wasn’t the best.

We go to Bills as it’s easy and not too pricey. We have, on occasion had to send a coffee back for being Luke warm but nothing too disastrous. As a family we booked for brunch, starting with drinks including 2 coffees. Had to send one back as it was cold but that was replaced and even though it wasn’t piping hot I drank it to save any further bother. Food came for us and the 2 kids. I ordered a Chicken Keebab dish and was mildly confused as the chicken was stone cold. After enquiring with staff as whether it should be hot I was told it should. I just asked for it to be heated up as the family had their food and I didn’t want theirs to get cold by waiting too long for mine. Obviously they carried on otherwise theirs would have spoiled. The longer it took to come back the less I wanted it. The family had nearly finished by the time it arrived and by this point I would have eaten solo so I refused the dish. I saw the female member of staff visibly sigh at the person in charge when they had an exchange about our table. When we requested the bill it was pointed out that my meal and coffee had been removed like it was a gift from them even though both had been sent back. When I paid the bill I explained to the manager how disappointed we were at the situation, having to send things back, not eating all together etc He then spoke with my wife saying he would look after her the next time we came in as he recognised us. Very disappointing today- the younger waitresses were excellent, apologetic etc. The senior staff were not so. No one came to apologise, no one checked on how the other meals were. If this was out first visit, we would not return.
