Great breakfast. The only reason I didn't give a 5 was because we both felt that the bacon had been cooked for too long.

Took a while for the food to arrive. Food was OK.

The lady serving us was rather rude Denied slight alterations to the brunch option (which were previously not a problem )and made us pay in advance Food was overall good Other staff were nice

Probably best breakfast in Reading. Great selection and all very high quality, which is reflected in the price. Good friendly service but frustrating that the 12.5% tip was automatically added and because you pay via the QR code it's not easy to opt out.

Love Bill's for a nice brunch spot, the coffee is always decent and we love the pancakes here for a nice treat! Great for families and couples, there's pretty much something for everyone on the menu. Service can sometimes be a bit slow at busy times , but worth the wait!

Brilliant Brunch Sharwama. The service was quick. Our server was rather rude though. She sneered when I didn't want anything while I waited ten minutes for my friend. And when the bill came, she wanted me to have it even though I was the guest of my friend. When my friend paid with her card, the server tried to give the receipt to me, even though I wasn't paying. What the heck? It was a surprise because the people working here are generally excellent.

The menu currently sucks. Where is the Mac and Cheese? Where is the Lasagna? Seriously weak and explains why the place was empty. No complaints about the staff, very professional.

Beautiful food, amazing service and attention to detail. Top tier awareness of dietary needs, they couldn’t have done more to ensure a proper gluten free breakfast. A definite gem. The vegetarian Garden Plate was so delicious.

Very tasty British brunch in the hear of Reading. Cozy and pleasant atmosphere upstairs with a nice overview to Reading’s church and exciting menu. Price compared to quality was really good. Although the variety of drinks could be more, there were a wide range of brunches and meals. I suggest the Egg Benedict! Will get back for sure!

I will start off by saying my review is based on being there in a large group so my experience will be different from smaller tables. The staff were really friendly and helpful when we arrived. There are maybe a dozen tables outside that are away from any roads so would be great in a nice day. We were taken upstairs to a great room that was perfect for our large group. They staff were well organised with the pre booked meals and had names against everything. This can be a big miss in some places as who knows what they ordered weeks before 😅. The only thing that let the service down was the availability of someone to take drinks orders. We were sat with empty glasses while we waited for starters. Our food was off a set menu and I went for the prawn cocktail which was great and then the burrata with aubergine which I ended up leaving most of the aubergine as it was swimming in oil and was well overcooked, the potatoes the go with it were great. I think my choice of meal was just poor as the rest of the group enjoyed their mains and given we were in a large group that is a win.

Bill's is always a good go to for a quick bite to eat. They have plenty of options for Gluten Free for my partner as well which is good as she is Coeliac and normally goes for the Shawarma. It would be nice for them to have a proper entrance outside as you feel like you are either lingering about waiting for someone to come attend to you if you want to sit outside or you go inside and deal with someone there if you want to sit inside. We have had other customers barge past us outside for example while we waited for a table because they had a 'reservation' inside.

Today I took my daughter here, I had sweet potato fries and calamari and honestly I was served one of the best calamari’s I’ve ever had! Skyla, Lilly and the bald gentleman, (apologies I didn’t get your name) were fantastic with my high energy daughter and were very tentative towards her. I am very grateful as they offered her crayons and things to colour in which kept her preoccupied along with interacting with her. The food was banging and service was fantastic. Thank you for a great experience, will be back again soon!

I booked the Bills Reading Restaurant for my manager for 6 people by its web booking page. Unfortunately when my manager arrived his name was not in the booking list. the worst thing is that there is no any way to contact them to ask what the problem is.

Never been to bills in reading before and was very impressed. They managed to squeeze us a table even though they were really busy and Kasia's service was excellent. I'll be back!

Continues to be one of my favourite chains. The menu has changed a lot but food is great. Very tasty and with a nice variety including for those with dietary requirements. The place tend to be packed so I'd recommend booking. The service is very good and there seems to always be a fair amount of staff around. Very nice atmosphere too. Definitely worth a visit. The bottomless pancake is also a great idea, I have had it a couple of times

Super happy with my experience here!! The food was brilliant , very tasty! Staff had exceptional customer service :) The vegan shawarma is really good and something different from other restaurants that just sell burgers for vegan options! Thank you , we will be coming back sooon !

My partner and I popped in for dinner recently. As the weather was lovely, we sat in the little garden area, which was lovely. The service from Lily was exceptional. Efficient, warm, friendly and nothing was too much. An absolute star! The food was very tasty and good value given the portion size. Plenty of menu options made choosing very difficult. Thoroughly recommend for brunch, lunch or dinner.

Lovely building with excellent outside seating, attentive staff, and a good menu with plenty of choice. The food was pleasant & well prepared, not real "top notch" but way better than most of the other choices you have in Reading. So, to sum up, I'd say it's an affordable and good place to go and escape the Mêlée of Reading for a bit.

Popped in for a bite to eat after work - lovely staff - all very friendly & welcoming. My partner opted for set menu grilled chicken and I had vegan burger with sweet potato fries. I couldn't manage dessert but I love that our server brought us two spoons so that I could sample my other half's salted caramel icecream !! Gorgeous interior and the Terrace area was full when we walked into the restaurant.

Very nice lunch at Bill's in Reading. We were seated upstairs where the air con was just right to keep us cool without being too cold. The menu had plenty of options and prices were reasonable. Food was very pleasant. Deducted a star for the service tax which I just wish restaurants would add to their prices rather than specifying separately as an optional charge. Enjoyed the experience and would go there again.

Got a nice table here. The waitress was really friendly and did so much for our dogs. Food was delicious. I wish there’s hot food served on the dog menu!

Wonderful location next to St Mary's overlooking the churchyard. Never had an issue at this Bill's, food is tasty especially the weekend brunch options. It can be very busy but usually service is good particularly on the weekends. Staff is friendly and helpful with the menu.

Nice place, but very loud. Brunch was good quality and I'd recommend the place on a quiet day. Needs some more soft furnishings to absorb some more sound.

Just ate breakfast in Bill's and the experience was good except for the moody manner of some of the staff (but not all). One person in particular had a unfriendly and monotone manner whilst dealing with us, yet seemed perfectly friendly when overheard speaking with colleagues. I was tempted to reject the 12.5% service charge that was added but felt it would have been unfair on the other staff members.

I was there for a business trip and it was the best place that I've ever been!! Excellent service and delicious food!!! The waitress was very kind and helpful!I will choose it again and obviously I will recommend it to others. Best experience ever

Very good service and venue. Food was good but very expensive for what it is.

Went at the weekend with my daughter and was a little shocked at the prices even more so when I got home to find a basic cheese slice to each burger was almost 2 quid! You can buy 4kg of cheese for a fiver! I'm not sure if this is harrods cheddar but I cannot justify 18.25 on a burger and then fries in a bucket. What's worse they are actually in a little paper cone which is hidden in the bucket so you get even less for your money. Absolutely never again unless I've got someone else paying as 2 drinks and 2 burgers and I'm 57 quid lighter!!!!

Pretty, friendly restaurant with a beautiful old-fashioned bar. The delicious brunch I recommend the Shawarma brunch. Everything there was excellent. The pancakes were delicious too

This is no ordinary place to eat. From the moment you enter the door you're hit by exquisite design and friendly service. It feels like every inch of this place has been thought about carefully and this extends to the menu. The food is served quickly and is superbly presented and the flavours are a fusion that just works. If you're in Reading you should make a visit a priority. Outstanding.

Party of 6. Limited menu choices. Struggled to find starter & main. Halloumi starter was very good. Asked for steak to be blue but got rare. Husband had prawn cocktail - 3 prawns hanging on the side of the bowl with a lot of lettuce & avocado in the bowl with a bit of sauce - rip off. Staff were excellent, although due to lack of space they had to pass the plates along. Not overly impressed by the experience.

I love the menu at Bill's- it's been a long time favorite. But as a single diner, I'm dissapointed with how challenging it is to get a seat. Every time I walk in, at any time of the day, the black haired lady who it typically front of house will humm, ha, make a fuss, examine the bookings list, look around at the empty unreserved tables, then tell me it will be a 'few minutes'. 10 minutes later after standing in the entrance, if I'm still there, I'll be given one of the empty tables. I'm well dressed, willing to spend in a decent environment, and often bring a group, and live a short distance away. But as a single diner, I'm discouraged from dining even at off peak times. Goodbye Bill's- it was good while it lasted, but your current front of house staff are too snobbish to bother with, and regularly upset customers (not just me). I'm tired of being treated like a second class citizen just because I walk in the door alone when there are plenty of tables.

Decided to book this place for lunch for mother's day with the kids and boy it was really good. Food and atmosphere was fantastic and the service was on point. We even got a free desert because of the day.

My daughter and I went in today to get some lunch, We were allocated a table. We sat down and were overwhelmed by the smell of Urine coming from the toilets. It was making me gag. We decided to leave as the smell was so pungent we decided if the toilets were that disgusting and not clean then chances were so was the kitchen.

I would recommend their breakfast 🍳 they have a big range of options, and there are something for everyone vegan and non vegan 💜 this branch have an outdoor seating area This is always my favourite spot for breakfast; now they have this amazing squash eggs feta on sourdough bread and it was recommended by Kasia💖 she is my favourite person in this restaurant as she always remembers me and welcomes me with open heart..

Came here for an evening meal, fish pie had literally 2 prawns and about 4 small chunks of actual fish which for nearly £15 is absurd! Steak was cold and so chewy a fork couldn’t even go in, chips were fine but again cold. The way the bill works is ridiculous, you have no choice but to pay online, it’s cashless, and to my shock a “tip” is automatically added on at 12.5%, you cannot remove this yourself- not only this but if your not careful you end up paying an extra 10% tip on top because of how the online system works when checking out, you can’t even select none or 0% again, you have to type into the box £0- it’s ridiculous, we had 4 different staff take our order, and although all very nice and professional, who exactly was the tip going to. I find it shocking that you can’t remove it yourself, and are then expected to add more on! All that for subpar food, we were so disappointed with the meal for the price, and to top it off an automatic large tip added to the bill- won’t be returning any time soon

I don't know if i'm biased because I used to go to Bills when it first opened, but its not even a shadow of its former self. Food was okay but nothing blow your mind. Service and atmosphere was excellent.

The building and its setting were the best part. The food was acceptable and the service was friendly and adequate. My eggs Benedict was cold. I don’t know the town and would probably look for somewhere better another time.

An impromptu lunch visit on a Tuesday meant we didn't need to book in advance. An extensive gluten free menu and we both had fabulous dishes. Good service, swiftly served for a lunch hour catch up.

Popped in for breakfast last weekend. I was offered the choice of 2 tables (in a corner) it was 9.30am the restaurant was busy but not that busy I could have been offered a better table. I was advised it was brunch and offered the menu. I had to make eye contact to give an order which arrived promptly, only grumble avocado/spinach "mash" cold (not even room temp) this lowered the temp of my eggs and sauce and the mouth feel/taste was affected due to this. Plate cleared promptly. At the end, I paid the bill, (I had the option to pay using a QR code but considering there's now an auto 10-12% service charge on all restaurant bills since Covid and having a history in catering, query if the staff now see this "Tip") I was reticent to do so and had to make a verbal request to a passing waiter to pay. Finally a note to management, a number of staff weren't overly busy, chatting to new staff members coming on shift, fussing with hair and checking their look or just looking busy at a POS till.

Noisy and expensive, £100+ for a family of 4...

Popped in for breakfast 8.45 Monday morning. Understandably the place was extremely quiet, but we were welcomed warmly by the hosts. Food was excellent - Avo smash on sourdough with added smoked salmon. Superb. Served by Kasia who was kind and friendly - spot on!

love Bills ,unfortunately when came to pay I tried to give my 3 Christmas gift vouchers to pay and was told I could only use 1 . Later contacted customer service who said this was wrong and gave me a 20 pound voucher they dealt very quickly with my query.
