Bill's Restaurant in Reading

The staff were very attentive, ensuring our needs were met, in particular Owais, He went the extra mile to make a great meal excellent. He made good recommendations and most importantly was very kind and humorous but subtly. All in all great food and even better customer service. On a side note the BBQ burger was to die for and the drink specials were so worth it, the name of the drink alludes me but it had a green leaf in it. Shout out the mixologist “stirred not shaken”.

Calm setting and nice food, great service

AVOID online ordering!!! Despite Bill’s having called me to check if I was alright to swap one menu item for another, someone somewhere (be it at Deliveroo or at Bill’s) cancelled the entire order. Shocking customer service. Will avoid in the future!

Great food and friendly service.

Slow service and poor food. As a group of six we arrived at lunchtime. It took ages for our order to be taken,it took so long we could order our drinks and food at the same time. The drinks eventually came and then after a long delay a plate of olives and flat bread. We then waited for our mains ,during which time two tables who ordered after us were brought their food. When we queried this a member of the management team came over and promised the food would be with us on three to four minutes. Fifteen minutes later still no food and again tables that ordered after us served their food. After asking again where our food was we were told our drinks would be on the house. Food eventually arrived. Chicken Schnitzel dry and hard. The salad supposed to have tomatoes in but didn't have any, very small amount of feta cheese and olives as well. All in all not an enjoyable meal. Our waitress apologised but nothing from the management at all.

Horrible service - I had to order at the bar because no waiter would come to take my order despite asking on several occasions when they will come take my order. Then they got my order wrong, and it seems like a lot of the items of the menu have been swapped to cheaper versions - what used to be the supergreens smoothie is now I am pretty sure the packed ones you get from grocery stores and not pure pressed juice. Very disappointing, will not be returning.

The food is yummy. Our sever Vinny is so good and efficient and funny. Thanks for a wonderful time.

I had a great time today at Bill’s Reading. Service by Ansh was really incredible and amazing! Food was really great- brilliant pancakes and it was in a very long time that I enjoyed eating outdoors. Will be coming back for sure!

The breakfast was absolutely amazing! Everything was delicious and of high quality. You must try the pancakes they were exceptional. Kasia’s service made our experience even better. She was incredibly warm and welcoming, and went above and beyond to accommodate our special requests. This is definitely a place we’ll be coming back to!

My wife and I chose to have dinner here on the off chance and it was absolutely lovely. The food was very good and the service was lovely and friendly from our waitress Charlotte. With a good price for a great meal we would certainly come here again.

Ansh was our server for breakfast! He was so lovely and served us really quickly. I got the garden plate and it was so tasty! Really good value for money as the portions were really big.

Ordered eggs Benedict and while the presentation was pretty, was a bit bland. Interesting decor. Service a bit slow for a less than busy time.

Had lunch at Bills today with friends. Food not bad at all, we had a few sharing plates. Good portion sizes. It was very busy today, not enough staff on, they were all rushed off their feet. However, the staff remained friendly and professional, just felt sorry for them as there wasn’t enough of them. Only downside to Bills in Reading is that the ladies toilets smell terrible, they always do and I urge the management to address this issue. I’ve mentioned it a few times over the years and still nothing has been done about it.

Second time at this restaurant. Brilliant table, Brilliant meals, Brilliant food, had a wonderful time.............James the waiter was very very good. Great restaurant and had a wonderful time. Very busy and the food is not quite my cup of tea. Someone else would probably give it five stars. Had a nice time.

Just a quick visit, drink and a snack sat outside in the sun. Flatbread, with Chorizo, chilli and hot honey Pleasant staff, wine a bit pricey but enjoyed nonetheless 😁

Went for lunch with a friend yesterday and we wanted to give a shoutout to our waitress Layla, smiley and helpful…nothing was too much trouble. The food was delicious, and we’re now addicted to halloumi chips with hot chilli honey!! But Layla needs recognition for being a great asset for Bills Reading. Thanks 😊

We booked here for a family for 5.30 pm we love this Bills and have been many times. Although the food was good the poor staff were running around madly trying to keep everyone sweet. Which ever person at head office Bills thought doing a mad eat as much as you like pancakes on a Friday all day doesn’t work in a restaurant. The poor staff were stupidly busy unable to keep up with the demand for little return. We were told they needed the table back for next sitting but as we had not received any food after the first hour it was unlikely we were going to be off the table in time. It’s very sad to see a great place where the staff care being made to do silly offers at times that are naturally busy

Very good food and atmosphere.. We had breakfast there............... The taste was good and the service was relatively ok...maybe because the Resturant was crowded.... It is worth to visit if you are in Reading

They do have bottomless puncake and hot drinks everyday between 15.00-17.00 for very reasonable price . I eat a biscof pancake and it was delicious .

Beautiful place with delicious food, I can not express enough how much I recommend to visit. The service, the atmosphere, the food 10/10. The portions are massive, I've decided to go for pancakes with bacon and maple syrup. It was one of the best pancakes I've had. My partner decided to go for sourdough with eggs and salad, which he said was delicious. We also got some chorizo, which i absolutely loved. The tea was served in adorable tea cups, which fit the whole design of the place. They do have separate menu for the 2 and 3 courses and serve slighly different dishes depending on breakfast, lunch, and dinner. If you're a fan of pancakes, they also offer bottomless pancakes between certain hours. I've attached all the pictures of the menu and details down below. There is plenty of parking at the oracle shopping centre which is a walking distance from the restaurant. If you're visiting Reading, this is a must go.

Ordered the duck curry. The very white meat tasted exactly like chicken and nothing like duck. Raised with staff but without investigating, they claimed it was definitely duck. It was as if though a prepared response to an expected question. It was 100% NOT duck but chicken. As a chicken curry it was ok but disappointing that it wasn't the duck as ordered and that the staff think their customers can't tell the difference. Won't be returning.

Service was impeccable today. Had a lovely Mother’s Day breakfast with my family along with a free glass of fizz to mark the occasion. We were also offered a free round of drinks for a delay on the food which I wouldn’t consider a delay at all. Those small gestures make a huge different. Thank you! X

Pretty good. Somehow this is a restaurant with a sense of mystery and eccentricity. Minus 1 star because the cat:dog ratio was not as good as I would like. Ditch some of the funky dog statues, and it's 5 stars.

Food was great, good vegan options and as someone with food allergies the labelling of dishes was reassuring. The pancakes were sooooo filling. I'm usually a clean plate club member but they were just so fluffy that I got half way through my stack and was so full that I had to get my husband to finish it. (After he'd eaten their full breakfast)

Visited today with my newborn son and mum for lunch. The food was really good and I wish I got our servers name as she was so lovely! Will definitely be coming again, staff were very accommodating of fitting in the pushchair for the sleeping baby! Lovely vibe in there in general.

Lots of style but lacking a bit in substance tbh. I don't know why people say the portions are good. I had a three course meal and left a little hungry. The real issue however was the weird service. They started over attentive even. Asking if I want another drink when I still had half a drink left. Then, suddenly, nothing. All staff stopped serving. There had been no unfriendly interactions or anything. My server just disappeared and I think they had no plans to pass tables over. I bet I could have walked out and nobody would have noticed I didn't pay. I finally had to track someone down to pay the bill after politely waiting 30 minutes. It's was expensive for what I got and the service was just weird. I won't be trying this chain again with so many other options out there tbh. What I did get was tasty, I'll admit. But there's a lot of tasty food out there to deal with this cost with such weird yo-yo service.

We were very impressed with our visit to Bill's. The weekend brunch mains were absolutely delicious (Bill's Big Brunch and Steak Egg & Chips), very well priced for the quality and amount of food. The doughnuts and coffee (in afternoon treats section) was genuinely delightful and absolutely worth the £6.65 as a coffee alone is £3.90. To top off the afternoon, we decided on an Elderflower & Bramble Spritz and Strawberry Margarita, both cocktails looked and tasted great. Slightly on the strong side but that's not a bad thing. The service was impeccable, the manager Iwona made sure we were well looked after. Our server was amazing, checking in on us regularly throughout and upon seeing our dog, she immediately gave him a water bowl and a dog menu to us. Table/plate clearing was very prompt compared to other restaurants so bonus points there. Fantastic weekend brunch - it has our stamp of approval.

Tried to go and have breakfast as most other restaurants weren't open at this time. We were met by an out of breath, scruffy and annoyed woman. Asked if we had a reservation...for breakfast? who reserves for breakfast? She said it would at least an hour wait and told us that maybe Côte may be open. I said, sure, ok thanks, most places aren't open yet as they usually open at 11:00am. Then an obnoxious scruffy male worker piped up and shrugged saying he didn't know about other places. I replied to him saying, yes clearly you work here but in general, restaurants open at 11:00am, which is why we came here because we knew it would be open. He smirked, laughed at me then shrugged again. After this we just left. Awful service, awful scruffy staff and the place smelled bad.
