I had breakfast yesterday 10th of may and we were a huge group. It was our fault that we moved one of the empty tables in order to fit all together. The “manager” was really unpleasant and assumed that we did not understand English and complained about it openly with his coworkers with a nasty attitude towards us. We ended up being served, the food was good, and then we left. As today 11th of may, we tried to get served but the same manager made up a rule that we have to order inside rather than the terrace. Again same unfriendly attitude towards tourists, and again assuming we don’t speak the language. To top it all this time they didn’t served us at all and asked us to leave. Good food, nice placement, but one of my worst times being served in the UK. I travel almost once a year to Nottingham, but I won’t be coming back to this place. PD: the food was really good as I said, and the rest of the waiters rather than the “manager” were nice to us.

Disappointing and Unwelcoming Experience I’m genuinely disappointed with the way we were treated at Bill’s in Nottingham. We visited the same place just yesterday and sat down without asking to be seated — nobody said a word and we were served without any issue. However, today we did exactly the same and were rudely told to leave because we hadn’t asked for a table. There is no visible sign saying “wait to be seated” or asking customers to speak to a host before sitting. Instead of kindly explaining the policy (if there even is one), the staff chose to ignore us, refused to greet us, and eventually asked us to leave in a very unpleasant manner. It was an unnecessarily hostile and uncomfortable situation. We were looking forward to another nice breakfast, but were left feeling unwelcome and disrespected. Definitely won’t be returning.

Totally unrespectful actitud with tourist by the manager. After living in the UK for 10 years, this is the first time I've been treated so badly for speaking Spanish with a group of 14 friends who came as tourists. All we did was move a table on the terrace so we could all be together. The manager's reaction was completely disrespectful, discriminatory, and racist. The expression on his face showed the contempt with which he was speaking to us. The comments he made to the other employees from a distance, thinking we didn't speak English, were disrespectful and unpleasant. Instead of helping us or making it easier for us to be together at a table, he gave us meaningless excuses, swearing, and being unpleasant. The manager was completely disrespectful. The waiters were pleasant and apologized for their manager's attitude. The food was good, but not abundant for the price. On top of all this, they added a 12% tip without asking. I just hope that not a cent goes to the manager since he deserves nothing more than a dismissal letter.

Waiter Lee who served us was brilliant although looked busy he was always attentive and looked after us and never had to look around for anyone plus food was good too, need to come in and try breakfast next time

Nice place and very busy. Probably could have done with a few more staff as those there were clearly under pressure. However, served as promptly as they could and the food was good (albeit a bit pricey in my opinion). The only disadvantages are: The drinks are expensive - perhaps could like at a more budget range? I really don't like the fact that a service charge is automatically added particularly at a rate of 12.5%!

Had breakfast here after a night out, great staff who were able to deal with our very large table of guests, some of whom had dietary requirements and preferences. Really good Eggs Benedict which my wife had, I had a standard fry up which was great. The hot chocolate I had was one of the best I've drank, so thick you could almost chew on it 😁

Absolutely loved my visit to Bills in Nottingham! The service was fantastic – the staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and attentive from start to finish. I had the duck curry, which was really tasty and full of flavour. The rest of the food was good too, nicely presented and satisfying. What truly made the experience special was the stunning interior – the decor is beautiful, cozy, and full of character. A great place for a relaxed and enjoyable meal. I’ll definitely be back!

Personal amable, y una decoración agradable. La comida simplemente no era muy buena; patatas fritas frías y pálidas (sospecho que congeladas) , huevo frito con yugos duros (que parecía que se había mantenido caliente durante un tiempo, no recién cocinado) , tocino seco y cocido. Nada de eso es atractivo para la vista o el paladar. Nottingham tiene algunos cafés encantadores. Le recomendaría encarecidamente que vaya a otro lugar.

Lovely restaurant with quick service and very friendly staff. We were all very full by the end of our meals but had to come back after a walk for puddings! I’m coeliac myself and felt safe the whole time - they had a massive gluten free menu with loadsss to chose from. All very happy 10/10

Food and service fantastic, whole place needs a good dusting especially above ground floor tables. Thick dust floating down aint the one. Backhanded service charge included we weren't told i prefer tipping my server whos earned it personally also adding 20% to our bill then taking off our 20% coupon special weren't great to be honest didnt realise as we split the bill amongst us. You need to do better we won't be returning sadly.

Came with my mum and younger sibling for a Mother’s Day dinner. The food was delicious and delivered in a timely fashion. The atmosphere was lively without being too loud for the occasion. It was a tad pricey but well with the extra money spent.

The place is amazing, went their for breakfast and absoleutly loved it. The food is brilliant and to die for. Greeted at the door and no waiting period whatsoever, the people give a warm and welcoming enviroment. 10/10

I got 'sh' pie because half of my 'fish' was missing!. Adding 12.5% service charge is ridiculous, it's up to the customer as to whether they wish to tip or not. Suffice to say I'll take my hard earned cash elsewhere.

All excellent reviews are what made us come and visit Bill’s and honestly I cannot believe that now I have to write a negative one. Servers were good and they are only reason that this isn’t a one start reviews, because everything else was awful. Prices are pretty high, they charge you 12.5% service fee as well which would be fine if food was at least decent, pancakes were burnt and dry, chicken was plain, bacon was overcooked, overall sad really.

Just wanted to shout out how amazing my visit was! Patrick was super attentive and made sure we were having a great time—top-notch service! I had the doughnuts, which were delicious, but my husband’s apple and cinnamon crumble was a total standout—so generous with the apple! The cleanliness and atmosphere were spot on, and we really appreciated the 20% off voucher. Can’t wait to come back!

Incredibly warm and welcoming but also efficiently ran like a machine, a very rare combination. Food was great and service by Toby felt like we were old friends without being imposing , truly outstanding!

Got there before our booking time (and before my friend had arrived) but the staff were very happy to seat me and ensure that I was OK. Prices were around what I would have expected for the food, although I think the drinks were a little pricey (£9 for a G&T; £33 for a bottle of Prosecco). The food was very nice. The staff were lovely and deserved a tip BUT I do not agree with a tip automatically being added to the bill especially at a rate of 12.5%. I understand it is discretionary but it is not easy to ask the people who the tip is for to remove it. We paid it because we felt we had to.

I ordered duck “curry” that had no essence of what a curry could be. The supposed curry sauce is some sweet and sour with no spices at all. Turmeric? Chilli powder? Cumin? Forget it all. This place redefines low cost curry is at high prices to their customers. As for duck itself- where is the duck? Maybe one or two small pieces. Was it even duck?? The supposed coconut rice?? Was definitely not made with coconut milk but was advertised as such. They had some random pickled vegetables as sides which adds nothing. Same for the random lime. It’s just bloat. Most of the food here is just bloated up and have have little to no main components of the dish. If you are basic and like overpriced microwave food, eat here. Everyone else- for your own sake, keep your money and eat at a more cultured place. Avoid this chain at all cost. Classic profiteering.

Cooked breakfast. Nice layout to the restaurant and ambience. Friendly greeting and given a choice of where to sit. Ordered cooked breakfast. It was clear that many of the items had been pre-cooked and kept in a bain -marie to be kept warm, which meant that when they had been served up and get to the table they are only lukewarm. Compared to many establishments where you freshly cooked items ie bacon, sausage etc cooked fresh, paying £10 + and then wish service charge automatically added to the bill makes the breakfast and overall experience seem poor value for money. Check back to the table only done towards the end of dining.

Went there for valentines night, brilliant atmosphere service and food for a good price.

Aside from the fact that all the meals I had were delicious the service was really good. The food was served on time and no delay, staff were very friendly and welcoming. Another thing that stood out for me was the steak; I always order a medium rare when having steak because well-done is always too dry. But my partner loves well-done so he had that and the steak was very juicy; it was well-done but I could still taste the juiciness of the meat. I will visit again to try the brunch menu.

Busy during half term but the kids eat free was a great deal. Food was delicious (two ways chicken) and fantastic service. Or dog even got a valentine's gift box! Very happy!

Great location, charming atmosphere, good music. Responsive and attentive workers. Ordered an English breakfast at Cappuccino, it was a very tasty breakfast, which was served very quickly. Charged with energy for the whole day and left with a good mood.

We came in for an early lunch around 12:30pm, and immediately saw they did bottomless pancakes. However, the menu said that they were only served from 3pm-5pm. Our waiter Lee offered to speak to the manager to see if we could get them, and they said yes! The pancakes came so quickly and tasted amazing! Lee was so helpful and friendly, and the atmosphere was great. We definitely recommend coming here!

Staff were very helpful and friendly. Unfortunately the food wasn't great, eggs were cold. the chicken was dry, food arrived within 3 minutes of placing our order.

We had a lovely dinner in the end. Initially, the steak was not cooked as requested. We asked them to cook it again, which they did, but they replaced the entire dish AND took it off the bill! That was not expected at all! Staff were welcoming and friendly, which was not the case in other restaurants that night... I'd definitely visit this branch again.

Popped in for breakfast and seated quickly - big venue and started filling up as we were in here! I had the eggs royale - poached eggs were absolutely done to perfection! Side of smashed avo to accompany. 20% blue light discount so great place to visit!

The restaurant was a great experience, I came midday to have the bottomless pancake and hot drinks selection (which is currently available every Friday). The pancakes were filling and the hot drinks had a lot of variety. Our waiter, Lee, provided amazing service throughout too which added to the value. All in all, with it costing roughly only £10pp made it one of the better brunch spots.

Absolutely appalled at the way some of the staff made me feel. Took our Grandchildren there for their breakfast as they really wanted the pancakes. The guy who took the order, after the order had been placed, asked if there were any allergies. My eldest Granddaughter mentioned her sister had an allergy to milk. Rather than asking me about this, I had another member of staff demanding she has the vegan option. The only reason I agreed to this was because both children were hungry and I felt very intimidated.My youngest Granddaughter eats ice cream, drinks milk shakes and has cheese on her Pizza!! She has a slight intolerance to green milk if she drinks too much of it,in the form of a slight rash; but that intolerance is better. She's fine, with milk in food. So, also rang my daughter in law to double check. Yes, she can eat the pancakes! What a surprise!!! The vegan one arrived and she found it stodgy and inedible. Good job it was "Kids eat for free week' because one of them didn't eat at all. Never going back to this place. Check your facts and trust that parents and grandparents know their own children/grandchildren. Ask about allergies before taking the order, and listen to the adults in the room; not the 8 and 5 year old children. Disgusting service. I will be contacting head office. Also kids don't eat for free, the restaurant just add an extra few £'s on to the rest of the menu. And, finally; a response! Yes, I will be emailing you.

Very busy but service was good and surprisingly quick.

The food was pretty good with a pretty innovative menu. They definitely have a good concept. The drinks are somewhat disappointing if you're drinking lager as they don't do draught beer. The location is very good just outside market square and next to my bus stop. The interior was lovely and presentation of the food great. However, the service was shocking. We had 4 different servers who obviously didn't communicate with eachother, chatting at the bar while we were seeking attention, took ages to get our dessert and coffee order, one server weirdly started dealing with the dirty plates and had to ask twice for the bill. Shouldn't tell the customer give a shout when you are ready to order, they should be more attentive, especially since it wasn't even busy (Friday lunch beginning of January) So, they accept Blue Light with 20% discount which is another tick in the box. We just decided not to leave a tip, which we always usually do because, frankly, they didn't deserve it. I would go back (not in a hurry) but I wouldn't go out of my way to recommend to friends. Price point is good. So overall it's fine, but if you want good attentive service, there are better places. They need to work on their staff training and roles. I get that there are benefits of having a multislilled team but don't take them off tables without at least having the courtesy to do a hand over.

We came here as a group of 10 adults and one 1 year old on Christmas Eve. It’s a place I’ve been meaning to visit for some time and I was really looking forward to trying the food but the whole experience lead me to leave a review. Despite it being Christmas Eve and a large table of us having not pre-booked the meals, the staff were extremely quick to serve us the food and all at once. No waiting for the last dish to come out before everyone could eat. Looking around I realised how child friendly it is, providing high chairs and food for young mouths. The little one at our table was happy! Can’t wait to return again to have another halloumi burger, it was so good and that garlic dip was just 👌 😋 thanks for a wonderful experience!

It was meant to be for a special second date but when I went to pay for the Prosecco that was meant to cost £20 they charged me £32.50 and it wasn’t even in a cooler bucket. My starter had to be sent back because it came with a garnish of chillies and I specifically said I didn’t want chillies in my food so that spoiled it for me and man I was with on a date.

Our visit to Bill's this morning for breakfast was underwhelming. We have been before (years ago) so decided to have breakfast there before visiting Nottingham Christmas market. We sat in a booth and, while table and chairs were clean, the walls were stained and grubby. I ordered the garden plate with no eggs and my husband ordered the big breakfast with no bacon, but an extra sausage. When they came, he had bacon. His eggs were overcooked and slimy and his sausage was lukewarm and not very good quality. Both of our plates were cold and our food got cold very quickly. Mine was stone cold by the time I finished. Mine came without hollandaise sauce and the avocado was bitter - not like it had lemon in, just really bitter and nasty, no idea why. Staff were ok apart from the one who processed our payment. She was laid back to horizontal, blocked my husband from going to the toilet, as she wouldn't move and acted like we were lucky she had deigned to serve us. We won't be back

A really nicely curated and maintained cafe-restaurant in the centre of Nottingham. Bill’s serves a really nice (albeit somewhat expensive) breakfast and brunch menu, with tasty and interesting vegan options. Coffee here is great (it’s quite strong). We came to Bill’s many times as the meeting place for brunch when family came to visit - it’s got something for everyone. However, it can get really busy and really loud in here (it’s a very open space with a high ceiling) so be sure to book ahead in peak times, or avoid those times altogether. We have also had a mixed experience with service, which doesn’t seem to correlate with anything or have any particular pattern…

Everything is always perfect ! No issues, friendly helpful staff, delicious food, well presented same as drinks. Recommended!

I went out with my team for team day here. I ordered Halloumi Shawarma and it was amazing. Staff members were very helpful as well. It took me quite a bit of time to make up my mind what to order, and she helped me by consulting me.
