Exceptional service in a fantastic restaurant, attentive waiters/servers with delicious food delivered in good time

Got there before our booking time (and before my friend had arrived) but the staff were very happy to seat me and ensure that I was OK. Prices were around what I would have expected for the food, although I think the drinks were a little pricey (£9 for a G&T; £33 for a bottle of Prosecco). The food was very nice. The staff were lovely and deserved a tip BUT I do not agree with a tip automatically being added to the bill especially at a rate of 12.5%. I understand it is discretionary but it is not easy to ask the people who the tip is for to remove it. We paid it because we felt we had to.

I ordered duck “curry” that had no essence of what a curry could be. The supposed curry sauce is some sweet and sour with no spices at all. Turmeric? Chilli powder? Cumin? Forget it all. This place redefines low cost curry is at high prices to their customers. As for duck itself- where is the duck? Maybe one or two small pieces. Was it even duck?? The supposed coconut rice?? Was definitely not made with coconut milk but was advertised as such. They had some random pickled vegetables as sides which adds nothing. Same for the random lime. It’s just bloat. Most of the food here is just bloated up and have have little to no main components of the dish. If you are basic and like overpriced microwave food, eat here. Everyone else- for your own sake, keep your money and eat at a more cultured place. Avoid this chain at all cost. Classic profiteering.

Cooked breakfast. Nice layout to the restaurant and ambience. Friendly greeting and given a choice of where to sit. Ordered cooked breakfast. It was clear that many of the items had been pre-cooked and kept in a bain -marie to be kept warm, which meant that when they had been served up and get to the table they are only lukewarm. Compared to many establishments where you freshly cooked items ie bacon, sausage etc cooked fresh, paying £10 + and then wish service charge automatically added to the bill makes the breakfast and overall experience seem poor value for money. Check back to the table only done towards the end of dining.

Well seasoned, good quality, great atmosphere and service

The food was lovely, fish pie was really nice. Paddy was excellent, very friendly, lovely young man.

BOTTOMLESS PANCAKES!!! Bottomless pancakes on pancake day were unreal! We was served by Malachi, Toby and Catherine. The service was immaculate, super quick and friendly! Would definitely recommend 🤍

Went there for valentines night, brilliant atmosphere service and food for a good price.

Aside from the fact that all the meals I had were delicious the service was really good. The food was served on time and no delay, staff were very friendly and welcoming. Another thing that stood out for me was the steak; I always order a medium rare when having steak because well-done is always too dry. But my partner loves well-done so he had that and the steak was very juicy; it was well-done but I could still taste the juiciness of the meat. I will visit again to try the brunch menu.

Busy during half term but the kids eat free was a great deal. Food was delicious (two ways chicken) and fantastic service. Or dog even got a valentine's gift box! Very happy!

Great location, charming atmosphere, good music. Responsive and attentive workers. Ordered an English breakfast at Cappuccino, it was a very tasty breakfast, which was served very quickly. Charged with energy for the whole day and left with a good mood.

We came in for an early lunch around 12:30pm, and immediately saw they did bottomless pancakes. However, the menu said that they were only served from 3pm-5pm. Our waiter Lee offered to speak to the manager to see if we could get them, and they said yes! The pancakes came so quickly and tasted amazing! Lee was so helpful and friendly, and the atmosphere was great. We definitely recommend coming here!

Staff were very helpful and friendly. Unfortunately the food wasn't great, eggs were cold. the chicken was dry, food arrived within 3 minutes of placing our order.

We had a lovely dinner in the end. Initially, the steak was not cooked as requested. We asked them to cook it again, which they did, but they replaced the entire dish AND took it off the bill! That was not expected at all! Staff were welcoming and friendly, which was not the case in other restaurants that night... I'd definitely visit this branch again.

Popped in for breakfast and seated quickly - big venue and started filling up as we were in here! I had the eggs royale - poached eggs were absolutely done to perfection! Side of smashed avo to accompany. 20% blue light discount so great place to visit!

Food arrived mostly cold on a cold plate. This was quickly rectified once I complained. Service and staff were great.

Always a warm welcome and the staff are so accommodating, they find me and my friend a quiet table where we can chat and eat the amazing food!

The restaurant was a great experience, I came midday to have the bottomless pancake and hot drinks selection (which is currently available every Friday). The pancakes were filling and the hot drinks had a lot of variety. Our waiter, Lee, provided amazing service throughout too which added to the value. All in all, with it costing roughly only £10pp made it one of the better brunch spots.

Absolutely appalled at the way some of the staff made me feel. Took our Grandchildren there for their breakfast as they really wanted the pancakes. The guy who took the order, after the order had been placed, asked if there were any allergies. My eldest Granddaughter mentioned her sister had an allergy to milk. Rather than asking me about this, I had another member of staff demanding she has the vegan option. The only reason I agreed to this was because both children were hungry and I felt very intimidated.My youngest Granddaughter eats ice cream, drinks milk shakes and has cheese on her Pizza!! She has a slight intolerance to green milk if she drinks too much of it,in the form of a slight rash; but that intolerance is better. She's fine, with milk in food. So, also rang my daughter in law to double check. Yes, she can eat the pancakes! What a surprise!!! The vegan one arrived and she found it stodgy and inedible. Good job it was "Kids eat for free week' because one of them didn't eat at all. Never going back to this place. Check your facts and trust that parents and grandparents know their own children/grandchildren. Ask about allergies before taking the order, and listen to the adults in the room; not the 8 and 5 year old children. Disgusting service. I will be contacting head office. Also kids don't eat for free, the restaurant just add an extra few £'s on to the rest of the menu. And, finally; a response! Yes, I will be emailing you.

Very busy but service was good and surprisingly quick.

The food was pretty good with a pretty innovative menu. They definitely have a good concept. The drinks are somewhat disappointing if you're drinking lager as they don't do draught beer. The location is very good just outside market square and next to my bus stop. The interior was lovely and presentation of the food great. However, the service was shocking. We had 4 different servers who obviously didn't communicate with eachother, chatting at the bar while we were seeking attention, took ages to get our dessert and coffee order, one server weirdly started dealing with the dirty plates and had to ask twice for the bill. Shouldn't tell the customer give a shout when you are ready to order, they should be more attentive, especially since it wasn't even busy (Friday lunch beginning of January) So, they accept Blue Light with 20% discount which is another tick in the box. We just decided not to leave a tip, which we always usually do because, frankly, they didn't deserve it. I would go back (not in a hurry) but I wouldn't go out of my way to recommend to friends. Price point is good. So overall it's fine, but if you want good attentive service, there are better places. They need to work on their staff training and roles. I get that there are benefits of having a multislilled team but don't take them off tables without at least having the courtesy to do a hand over.

We came here as a group of 10 adults and one 1 year old on Christmas Eve. It’s a place I’ve been meaning to visit for some time and I was really looking forward to trying the food but the whole experience lead me to leave a review. Despite it being Christmas Eve and a large table of us having not pre-booked the meals, the staff were extremely quick to serve us the food and all at once. No waiting for the last dish to come out before everyone could eat. Looking around I realised how child friendly it is, providing high chairs and food for young mouths. The little one at our table was happy! Can’t wait to return again to have another halloumi burger, it was so good and that garlic dip was just 👌 😋 thanks for a wonderful experience!

I can't rate the food and can only rate the service, which due to being non existent after 20 minutes of waiting to even have a drink order, my son and I left and went to eat elsewhere. An extremely disappointing experience.

It was meant to be for a special second date but when I went to pay for the Prosecco that was meant to cost £20 they charged me £32.50 and it wasn’t even in a cooler bucket. My starter had to be sent back because it came with a garnish of chillies and I specifically said I didn’t want chillies in my food so that spoiled it for me and man I was with on a date.

Our visit to Bill's this morning for breakfast was underwhelming. We have been before (years ago) so decided to have breakfast there before visiting Nottingham Christmas market. We sat in a booth and, while table and chairs were clean, the walls were stained and grubby. I ordered the garden plate with no eggs and my husband ordered the big breakfast with no bacon, but an extra sausage. When they came, he had bacon. His eggs were overcooked and slimy and his sausage was lukewarm and not very good quality. Both of our plates were cold and our food got cold very quickly. Mine was stone cold by the time I finished. Mine came without hollandaise sauce and the avocado was bitter - not like it had lemon in, just really bitter and nasty, no idea why. Staff were ok apart from the one who processed our payment. She was laid back to horizontal, blocked my husband from going to the toilet, as she wouldn't move and acted like we were lucky she had deigned to serve us. We won't be back

A really nicely curated and maintained cafe-restaurant in the centre of Nottingham. Bill’s serves a really nice (albeit somewhat expensive) breakfast and brunch menu, with tasty and interesting vegan options. Coffee here is great (it’s quite strong). We came to Bill’s many times as the meeting place for brunch when family came to visit - it’s got something for everyone. However, it can get really busy and really loud in here (it’s a very open space with a high ceiling) so be sure to book ahead in peak times, or avoid those times altogether. We have also had a mixed experience with service, which doesn’t seem to correlate with anything or have any particular pattern…

Everything is always perfect ! No issues, friendly helpful staff, delicious food, well presented same as drinks. Recommended!

I went out with my team for team day here. I ordered Halloumi Shawarma and it was amazing. Staff members were very helpful as well. It took me quite a bit of time to make up my mind what to order, and she helped me by consulting me.

A lot of food on the menu is deep friend and the flavour could be better. What I really didn’t like was the dirty toilets and floor. One tap isn’t even fixed. Disgusting.

Great atmosphere, service and food. Something for everyone on the menu. We had a sharing platter to start and burgers for mains. All good. Lovely staff brought water bowl for our dog. Wasn’t expecting so much from a chain restaurant but we all enjoyed it. Came here because we are travelling with a dog.

Food was very good but I found the menu a bit confused. The starters were exactly what you would find in a nice restaurant, but the mains were more like burgers and fries and then randomly fish pie and duck curry! Desserts were fine dining standard, the Bills flower pot was amazing. Staff friendly, don't like the 12.5% service charge added but happens more and more in city centre venues. Will return.

Monday 14th Oct. Excellent. We arrived earlier than planned, around 5pm, but it wasn't a problem the wonderful waitress gave us a lovely table out of the way in the window. We spent probably the next 45 minutes drinking coffee and talking, the staff not once rushing or bothering us. When we were ready to order an equally wonderful waitress took our order. When the food arrived, (mine was a burger with beef brisket on board, my wifes the gluten free fish pie) it was piping hot and delicious. I can honestly say, the best burger I've ever eaten, something I let the cook know. A waiter came over and cleared up. Yet more smiles and politeness. With my Veterans card I got 25% off. From the moment we walked in, to the moment we left, it was a pleasure to be in there. If you're in Nottingham, if you love a marvellous burger (I usually don't order burger as I don't usually enjoy them), If one you need a GF option and you want excellent service, then get yourself a table here.

We went on a Friday night to try the bottomless pancake offer( £5 instead of £9.60). The pancakes was just right...not too sweet and not too plain. We had one round and we couldn't finish our second :) so they gave us boxes to take away. I recommend the biscouf plus ice-cream pancake. I do think that a small pot of cream next to the freshly baked pancakes will make a big difference. The place is really cozy and the service is really a five stars . We will back to try their breakfast .

We went to Bill’s for dinner and sat outside to save ourselves from a long wait to eat inside. The service was a little slow but there seemed to be quite a few tables so we didn’t mind. My vegan burger was good but there was so much rosemary on my fries/crisps that I couldn’t eat them. We had to ask a few times to get water. Overall, we had a fine time, we probably wouldn’t come back.

So I’ve walked by Bill’s on many occasions & it was amazing to be going there with my Son It was absolutely wonderful inside the decor was out of this world! My Son had eggs Benedict & I tried the plant plate it was excellent for both of us 😊 It was filling up very quickly with a 30th Birthday upstairs, I can’t wait to go up there myself, next time maybe 🫢 Regards Gillian Q.

I’d arranged a trip with friends to see a play in Nottingham and thought we’d combine it with lunch. Originally, we were going somewhere else until one of the group suggested Bill’s. I’d gone a few weeks before to book but the queue was huge (which is always a good sign) so I tried online. Since this booking required me to pay a deposit, I resisted and duly waited in line. The host was exceptional- warm and friendly, incredibly competent at getting job and I immediately felt that booking here was the right choice. Today we went and I cannot fault the service, atmosphere, friendliness of the waitresses, quality of the food and cost. I was extremely impressed and as such, will be back in the future.

Just wanted to say a huge thank you to the whole team provided the service in Bill’s yesterday 24/09! Great team-work from everyone and the food was delicious. Special thank you to Andrea, who was serving the main part of the event.

Went here for a light breakfast. Eggs all styles and great veggie friendly options. Very nice smoothies. The staff are quiet and not overly fussy like some places, but they were very polite and friendly. Eggs were a bit on the cold side but maybe because of the chilly avocado. As with all Bill's restaurants the decor is very rustic and a little eccentric but nonetheless charming. They do a very generous Blue Light 🔵 discount which was 25% at the time. Definitely be popping back again. Thanks Bill's ❤️
