Big Bakes Bakery in Torbay

Just had my first delivery from this bakery and it was delicious. I purchased a build your own box with 4 traybakes/brownies l and each one was so moreish well made. Well packaged too and arrived in perfect condition

I've just had my delivery and wow 👌 I had the nibble box and I'm so pleased with this box it's the best ever I recommend bigbakes to everyone all there cakes and bakes are the best ever just melt in your mouth 😋

I miss how it first started out.. . A lot of ‘ milky bar’ products have cheap chocolate on. I think in too as they don’t taste the same… used to order a lot and won’t be anymore :(

I have visited the Torquay shop on 3 separate occasions and each time there have been no cupcakes. This is very disappointing.

So glad we came across this cake shop 🧁 We were visiting the local pet shop and stopped in our tracks when we seen these amazing cakes through the window! Also, what a happy soul you have working there too! Singing their absolute heart out, and quite possibly the happiest person we met all holiday 🥰 (30th May).

Love the traybakes, not tried anything else but friends have and enjoy them. The only downside is they will not reply to comments on social media. It’s half term now and still don’t have a clue if they’re opening for any extra days- seen quite a few people comment but you get no response. It’s a bit of a drive to see if they’re open on the off chance.

We visited the Exeter shop to buy a single brownie and ened up buying a whole lot more (oops). The selection is incredible and I believe it changes every week (or two?) At first we thought it was a little pricey until you hold a tray bake and realise it's 3x heavier than anything else available on high streets....not to mention a million times more enjoyable. We loved BBB and will definitely take a trip back down.

I started following Big Bakes in Instagram and finally got the chance to visit when on a long weekend stay in Torquay. Our first aim was to try their new ice cream collab with The Local Scoop and we were not at all disappointed- we had the choc brownie, salted caramel and cherry Bakewell! Wow, outstanding. An excellent size portion served by owner Charlie 😊 We had a lovely (slightly drizzly) stroll through Babbcombe down to Oddicombe beach and then returned for a cupcake and choc brownie - 10 stars all the way, sooooo good. Really glad to have finally made it down there to try some goodies and so happy it was timed with the launch of your ice cream! We will be back for more!

These ae the Best Cakes in the South West they arenot cheap but you get what you pay for which is a cake you keep coming back for xxx keep it up Ryan and Charlie xxxxxxx

I’ve been here several times now and never been disappointed, everything is very sweet and definitely satisfies that sugar craving! I definitely recommend getting a few bits and sharing them with someone else so you get a taste of the range (you won’t manage more than one of you try and work your way through the range on your own in one sitting) also discovered the tip of putting the cookie pie in the microwave for 20sec before eating, that makes it even more naughty and delicious!

Like many people, I've followed them on social media for ages so was excited to finally get a postal order. I had the whoopie cookies box and was not impressed. They were a little dry and the buttercream tasted bland like they had used either margarine or unsalted butter. I do realise that some people do use unsalted butter but I never think that tastes good. It's now the third time that I've followed people on social media and been disappointed after the hype so I think perhaps the problem is me 🤣 They seem like lovely people and a lovely company and their pricing is fair (especially seeing their recent price testing stories on social media) but I definitely will follow for inspiration rather than purchasing anything else online. That said...if I happen to be in the area this year, I probably will try one cupcake, just to see what their cake baking skills are like!

Takeaway cookie and some kind of cake, vey pricey 100% sugar 0% flavour left me with a buzzing head and only ate about 10% of what I purchased

I am reluctantly writing this review but as I have had no response from the company I feel out of options. I visited the Exeter store with my family on 14th May. They were very busy which was lovely to see. However, I found multiple bits of plastic in my milkshake and when I spoke to the staff about it on the day, not to cause a fuss but to simply draw attention to the contamination, I received a really poor response. They told me I was mistaken and that I was in fact finding sugar in my drink, which was quite clearly not the case. The bits of plastic seemed to me like a corner of a plastic ice cream tub had inadvertently found it’s way into the blender. Subsequently I reached out to the company via the website and social media and have not received a reply.

First stop when visiting Babbacombe. We had 2 cookie cups and a layered slice and they were AMAZING. Great prices too!! Will be buying a few more to take home.

“Hi. We’re shut!” Was the extremely abrupt response I received yesterday from a young girl wearing thick glasses, looking at me like I was some kind of idiot, when I walked into the unlocked bakery (with three staff members present inside), to order a special occasion cake. With “customer service” like this, I won’t be back! She didn’t request I come back another time or provide opening hours. She was extremely rude. She lost Big Bakes Bakery a customer.

Not healthy but so delicious! Generous portions and well-priced; I tend to split a bake and eat it over two days. Highly recommended!

My wife was gifted a box of these.. well wonders! We have tried many cake box's from various places but these are simply amazing, brownie is exceptional!

Wow, this is one of the best cakes I’ve ever eaten - had the biscoff one and never tasted anything like it, they are very sweet… but kinda obvious they would be! Defiantly worth a trip!

Tasty, tasty tasty! What more can you say. Always had these when at food fairs and as on holiday near here had to make the trip to visit and it didn’t disappoint. Such a wide range of cakes and tray bakes with flavours you can only imagine.

We walked past this bakery today and we told ourselves we had to go in. The cakes, brownies and cookies looked incredible. We are currently on holiday in Devon and these were so worth trying, they tasted delicious and well worth the wait. Would 100% recommend if you want a sweet treat!

I had the best cookie ever from this bakery! well worth a 4 hour drive to Devon just to get it! I would say if you are ever in devon you need to go to this bakery my nephews love the cupcakes however their parents...

Such a wide range of choice for this fabulous little bakery. I can highly recommend this place to stop off for a treat or two. My favourites are the roll and biscoff bakes

We had a loaded caramel brownie delivered yesterday and oh my it was the best! Will definitely be making the trip once lock down is over.

This place is amazing. If you’re visiting Torquay and like cake you MUST go, but be prepared to queue (deffo worth the wait) They sell such wonderful flavours, everything is delicious. And the owners are such lovely people!
