Definitely not a place I would recommend, terrible customer service. Went in for a drink and was told to sit out in the lobby as we weren’t ordering food and someone would come with a menu which is perfectly fine. 20 minutes later no one came, the place was not even busy. Such bad customer service.

We went for lunch only, most of us had the fish chowder which was amazing and great value for money, but my father had the lamb which was quite disappointing. The lamb was tasty but it had no veg and about 10 new potatoes. That cost £28 We had the pavlova for desert which had 3 tiny pieces of strawberries and 3 blueberries. Wasn’t the best tasting pavlova and most definitely not worth £7.

Ballycastle has a covetable coastal position, lovely beach and even a ruin to visit. We ate here twice, locally sourced food, well prepared. Welcoming staff.

Overall below average experience.id score it 2 out of5. Firstly we booked what we were told was a sea view room. It definitely was not by any reasonable definition. Secondly we Only had one bath towel in our room. We were asked upon booking if we wanted to book dinner as part of our package which we agreed to. That was a very disappointing experience; the menu we were given was extremely limited with about 4 very basic choices. On observing other customers with a more extensive menu we were not told about, we opted for the former - agreeing to pay the additional premium. Between our starter and before we got our main, the waitress asked us did we want to order our desert! The main course was quite frankly atrocious; it was salmon on what was supposed to be roseto but was really a 'hodge poge 'thrown together with asparagus and broccoli meshed in. The restaurant manager asked us when collecting 90% of our left remains if all was ok to which we told him.it was atrocious. But he did nothing! On check out the next morning I communicated the above experiences to the receptionist and whilst, after coming & going to a manager, I did not have to pay for the mains. The receptionist was also wearing a pair of trainers!! I feel for the owner who recently purchased this property. Ballycastle is a lovely location but my word this hotel needs to get it's act together.

We stayed here during our elopement weekend and it lived up to every expectation I could have dreamed. Our room had a fab view of the beach, the breakfast was great every morning, having costa handy was a definite bonus. Sitting outside with a pint was one of the most lovely afternoons we had. The location in general is unbeatable. We are already taking about planning a trip back for one of our anniversaries.

It's a weird hotel. The reception is tucked away in the corner of a coffee shop. The car park was full and no available public parking nearby. The restaurant was bad . The breakfasts were great . All on all I won't go there again.

Was only at the Marine for bay city rollerworld, its cosy, staff are friendly, but the staff need to learn how to pour a pint of Guinness, it was sacrilege the way it was poured, we didn't stay so cannot comment on the rooms, but the hotels decor is tastefully done

Popped into the marine hotel for coffee. The young lads that originally served the coffee were fine, but the young lads that appeared later were definitely not. Whilst standing behind the counter all you could hear was them swearing, fortunately there were no young children in the vicinity. Then one of them took a spoon and helped himself to a spoonful of ice-cream from the counter, licked the ice cream off the spoon and then dipped the same spoon back into the ice cream for another spoonful, so if you're thinking of getting an ice cream whilst in Ballycastle there are plenty of other places where hopefully you won't be swapping bodily fluids with strangers, also less colourful language! Having second thoughts about eating in the restaurant now!

A big group of us stayed at the Marine and and rented one of the function rooms for a 70th party. Every part of the stay & evening was perfect. The bedrooms were all spacious, bright and clean, with really comfy beds. The function room was lovely and the buffet food excellent, breakfast, which was included, was also really good. Claire and her team did an absolutely brilliant job in making us feel so welcome. Thanks a million!

We have came here a number of times as we really loved the hotel but we came home a little disappointed on our last visit. First of all our rooms got mixed up and we were given a small room instead of a family room for us, dog and infant and it took some time for this to get sorted. We also went down for dinner, we didn't pre-book although we asked if it would be possible to get a dog friendly table and we were told to sit at a coffee table until a table was ready, however several guests who arrived after us got placed before us. Our food arrived and it seemed we were forgotten about and ended up having to eat our meal at an uncomfortable coffee table with a dog and toddler! It was Easter weekend and understand it was busy but we would have rather we were told that there wasn't enough room for us instead. A lovely lady with short blonde hair did try her best to get us sorted when she was made aware we were waiting. On a positive note the receptionists were lovely too, Eve and Beth. I understand it was a busy time but I think the outcome would have been better if we were told honestly that we couldn't have dinner on site due to over capacity.

Was in the marine today tues 2/4/24, with my mum who lives in ballycastle .We have been many times but after today ill never be back in it.We waited 25m on two coffees this is after waiting 20mins on a young lad comming to take our order. The service is very very poor, the area we were sitting in was absolutely filthy, tables were not being cleaned properly after customers had finished. And as for it now being dog friendly the need to stop that as they arent cleaning "the mess" that the dogs are leaving behind. Also health and ssfety comes into it as regards allergies and what dogs carry and spread

Very central Hotel, but ground floor layout strange. An array of ice cream is first thing you see and the Reception is to the left of this. Receptionist very pleasant & welcoming. The lift is far too small for the traffic throughout the Hotel. Room clean, but TV didn't work. Breakfast made up for any defaults - very attentive staff, lovely cooked breakfast and good array of Continental choices. The views in the seating area at front of Hotel of the beach are very good.e

Had a really lovely stay for 2 nights with my wife. The room was fabulous, large and a corner room with 3 windows all overlooking the beach and sea. Downstairs is a lovely Costa coffee shop that also sells alcohol. A lovely place to sit and look at the sea and watch the world go past through huge windows. The staff were all really helpful and friendly and the breakfast was fantastic!

Had lunch with the family in the recently renovated restaurant in the Marine. Staff were very friendly and the restaurant has a lovely view over the sea. The main courses and desserts chosen were all delicious and 5 plates and bowls were completely cleared. I highly recommend the plum sponge for dessert - it was something a little different and really delicious. Hope to visit again soon!!

Called in on a Saturday Afternoon - no food left - they'd run out of cups, had to clear a table to sit down. Overall, the place just has a run down feeling to it - like someone just doesn't care anymore.
