Betty Chiswick in Hounslow

The Caesar’s salad is phenomenal. For the meat eaters I highly recommend the ribs. The portions are huge and the quality of the ingredients is outstanding.

As a Chiswick resident, I was so happy when Bettys opened. Such a lovely place! My friends too! ☺️ We were concerned at the terrible service when it opened but put it down to being new and having teething problems. Around 2 years later and it’s still as bad, if not worse. It’s really sad and probably going to be the reason the place doesn’t last 🥴 I’ve always turned a blind eye to it and gone back many times but when I tried I to book the venue for a party for around 100 people and was ignored (3 e mails and even going in to speak to them leaving my business card) I gave up and had to write this review. I’m hoping the owners/management see this and the other bad reviews on trustpilot) and sort the place out as the flaws are so easy to fix. It’s not difficult to give good service and there’s so many other places in Chiswick that do. Don’t kill your own restaurant! it’s lovely, and people want to go there! But they want good service more and ALL my friends are now saying they aren’t going back, they’ve given it enough chances also.

We turned up on NY eve at 9 pm to the venue in darkness had called ahead and the opening times all confirmed but we are left in the street not knowing what was going on? No messsge on the door pretty bad !!!

I’ve been to this place on a few occasions and I’ve noticed the same dish can taste and look much better on certain days. Make sure to ask who the chef is before you order. My favourite chef is Simona 👌🏼 They also have lots of special offers, the best being 2 for 1 on cocktails (I think it’s on Friday and Saturday only). I am yet to try bottomless brunch, I hear it’s great. And they even do speed dating events! What I really like about this place is that they have separate sections and it can work for so many things. You can have almost private dinner party at the mezzanine where they also host speed dating events. Then there’s the restaurant part. They also have a bar which feels separate from the dinning area and a smaller area to watch sports. I was reading previous reviews and people weren’t able to understand what the theme was. I think Bettys can cater for all kinds of people and that’s certainly not a bad thing.

Booked on a Thursday as this was advertised as their Lobster night... only to find that Lobster's weren't in season - there was a mismatch of menus with some still advertising the Lobster special and others not. All very confusing! When we ordered the food was nice, the ribs were excellent and you get a lot of them! The atmosphere is good, and there was a speed-dating event on upstairs that kept everyone entertained. I couldn't work out what Betty's was trying to be, a bar, a restaurant, a sports bar, or a wine-bar, and it feels a little like that. A big positive is the restaurant is dog friendly! We will return to either watch sport, a Sunday lunch or lobster night (when running) and hopefully will leave a better review!
