Turned up at 1720 to have a juice but was told by a rather sullen lady that I could only have coffee as they were closing at 6. Then she over charged me.. not very welcoming.

An abundance of mouldy and rotten and well-past-its-best fruit and veg. Prices of fruit and veg reflect the fact it is supposedly organic. But it's mouldy and mushy and rotten so rubbish. Avoid if you can.

The selection and quality of the available food is first class - some of the best vegetables I have eaten. However this is let down by the attitude of several members of the staff - not all but probably the majority - I have experienced rudeness and a rather superior attitude to me as a customer. This is in stark contrast to the St Werburghs shop and most shops that I go to. This is a real shame because I really don’t enjoy this, I hope the next time I visit it will better!

I popped in to see if they had any gluten free cake in the cafe section, suitable for someone who is coeliac. Some of the cakes on the counter had a label and others didn't so I asked one of the staff if they could help. They weren't sure and when I said it was for someone who is coeliac her response was "how coeliac are they?". I found this a very unacceptable response which showed a lack of awareness. She also said that sometimes the gluten free cakes share a plate with cakes that contain gluten which is totally unacceptable because of the risk of cross contamination. I said that therefore I wouldn't buy anything and left. Staff really need to be more fully trained about allergens and much greater care needs to be shown with regard to avoiding cross contamination. Coeliacs be aware! You would certainly expect more from 'The Better Food Company'.

Tonight I called in for for a loaf of white bread. The loaves are "sort of" marked, but it's not always very clear what's what. i asked the assistant which was a white loaf and, although she did try to help, she was obviously clueless. In fact she picked up a loaf that had something baked into it (probably onions) and which was almost certainly wholemeal. Feeling that I was getting under her feet (she was marking the loaves down at the end of the day), I felt embarrassed and settled on a large loaf which she and the girl at the cash desk assured me was stone ground white. I was pretty sure it wasn't. I was right, when I got home it was wholemeal with something baked into it. I therefore could not eat it. The reason I'm writing this is because 1. the loaves of bread can cost around £4.00 each so you expect to get what you want and 2. this shop is a flagship for specialist food. If they cannot identify their products then how would I know if something was genuinely vegan or gluten free, or whatever. This is not the fault of the staff but the management. At these prices you must get it right.

I wish I could give this shop a better rating, as the selection of organic food, drink and other household products on offer is brilliant, but unfortunately this whole venture is let down by its poor customer service. As someone who is trying to make more positive, sustainable food choices, I have visited this shop on a number of occasions, but each time I have left feeling rather miffed by the miserable service I have received from staff. Just a simple “hello” at the checkout, maybe with a hint of a smile, is all I ask for - this would do a lot to soften the blow of the inevitability higher cost of an organic food shop.

These guys make a great pea and potato samosa. there are several other impressive dishes on the menu. Had a veggie sausage sandwich with rockets and sun dried tomatoes which was very good too. Their coffees are of very good quality too.

Always has what's needed, especially my favourite vegan cake, its a massive cup cake with pink icing. Parking can be an issue, as usual drive up before school pick up.

Both here and sevier street the staff are unhelpful, at times rude and today RIDICULOUS! Last week I popped in to buy a juice at 5.50 and was told the cafe closes at 6 we aren’t serving juice... ummmm the cafe closes at 6 then you serve til 6 surely... then today I went in and 5.03! Guess what?!? The cafe closes at 6 so I can’t serve juice after 5?!? Just a joke! Please someone open a juice bar on Whiteladies road!!!! Totally and utterly ridiculous.

We come here on a regular basis for shopping and brunch, pretty much every time I order avocado toast, I love the addition of nigella seeds.

As much as I would like to love this place, the customer service is pretty abysmal. Sadly the idea of supporting a worthy concept costs a hell of a lot more than just popping down to Sainsburys. Feeding a large family here is a challenge and one in the times of austerity just is pushing us away. But if I am going to hand over my cash the least you can do is smile and be just a little pleasant.

Branch in the Royal West of England Art Gallery, Queen’s Road, Bristol. Summer infusion teas were totally stunning and, unlike most cafes, had no sugar or syrup in them. Peach/Berry was superb and the Earl Grey (tho obviously a bit sour due to its nature) was also v good. (1 other flavour I didn’t try). Staff exceptionally friendly & helpful. Lovely venue (inside the Gallery building) with metal seats (I think it was) & small tables outside. NOTE a year’s Pass is currently £16 to visit exhibitions as much as 1 wants, so only about £5 or less each time.

I went with my young son and wife during the run up to Christmas where I had booked a week off work to get my Christmas shopping done. It was a good day out overall, but sadly my attempt at some respite in this Costa was thwarted by one abhorrently rude member of staff. It started when I ordered our drinks at the till. Mine and my wife's drinks were fine, but when I asked about the free 'babycchino' for my son, the woman on the till- Anna- told me they had run out of the small cups for the kids drinks and that they'd have to charge us for a whole regular size cup of milk if we wanted one! After stating the obvious that Anna could simply put a small amount of milk in a regular cup, she huffed, poured out the drinks and abruptly handed me the tray. When we sat down, the tables were messy and sticky. Granted it was busy and the run up to Christmas, but basic hygiene is not a duty that should be shirked. After finishing I needed to use the restroom, so I went to the right of the tills and queued for use of the loo. When I got in there I could hardly breathe. The smell was awful. I went straight out to the tills and spoke to Anna again to tell her that the their toilets needed attention. I got the same huffy attitude from Anna who told me that they were nothing to do with her as the toilets were managed by Primark. She didn't even contact her Primark colleagues or a manager to let them know that someone had smeared excrement on the floor in there. Truly a shocking experience.

Nice little Costa at willow brook shopping centre. We encountered a rather anxious and slightly intimidating customer in the cafe the staff went out of the way to make sure we were ok. They apologised, checked in with us and gave us complimentary cakes. AMAZING customer service thank you ‘Kate’.
