Betsy's Cake and Coffee House in Wakefield

20 of us visited for a Baby Shower. Nothing was too much trouble for Pauline and her staff member - we were welcomed, treated so well and the catering for 20 x afternoon tea was excellent! Food delicious and such great selections and value for money! We set out to support a small business and got so much back from them! Highly recommended and we will all be back, but maybe in smaller groups! Thank you so much!!

Really good place the service is top tier and so is the food. Would give it 6/5 if possible but I would recommend

Takeaway sandwiches, very nicely done. Tuna melt panini for me and ham salad for her indoors. Came with tub of slaw, crisps and small salad. Looked to have a great range of cakes which will try another time.

Milkshake was so disappointing for £4 odd was very watery not thick like you'd expect a milkshake to be.

Had a lovely morning at Betsy's with my grandaughter. They had a cookie decorating morning for the kids. The cost was only £7.50 this included lunch and drinks. Lots of icing pens, sprinkles and cookie cutters all provided. At the end of the morning grandma got to buy a cheeky brownie. Both happy. Highly recommend.

Really tasty bakes and a nice variety. The cakes are delicious as well.... not a dry sponge in sight. Really friendly service as well.

Afternoon tea from Betsy's is amazing. Had 2 treats over the past couple of months. Everything fresh, tasty & plentiful .Even had left overs. Great selection of savouries and sandwiches with added garnish. AND cakes oh.... my.... fresh cream scones, chocolate cake, flapjack, cupcakes etc. A first class service from a lovely lady. During Covid 19 all takeaway afternoon teas are contactless. Very efficient and well run. Definitely recommend to everyone. Enjoy..

Proper stacked brownies and blondies. I challenge anyone to buy a box of tray bakes, on a Friday, thinking they'll save them to eat over the weekend. It's almost impossible.

This place is amazing and delicious for cakes and any thing dessert!!! Very recommended! The lady who work in there is lovely and kind to talk to. She does loads of fabulous food for takeaway or eat in.

This place is amazing! Best one I have been to in a long time. The woman who spoke to me was so lovely and down to earth. The cake shop was very clean and tidy. The brownies was mine and my mum favourite would definitely get them again. If you want a treat go here!!

Visited Betsys today for a birthday party and can not recommend this place enough! The cafe is beautifully decorated, the staff were wonderful, a wide variety of food and sweets on the afternoon tea, all were homemade and delicious! Will most certainly be visiting again!

we have just had our daughters 4th party at Betsy's, what a fantastic party! Kat and Gaz were lovely and made her day special from start to finish. Afternoon tea was beautiful, plenty to take away too. we enjoyed the party games too, with great prizes provided by Kat. Couldn't recommend more!

Called in for a pit stop after a long dog walk. Had a lovely cake and pot of tea. A must visit for anyone visiting the area for walks. Great selection and a lovely lady running the shop.

Never met a member of staff presumably the owner who dare be as rude as this one Called in to collect cakes to take away for the family and left without anything at all she didn’t have time for the cafe as she was making an order cake Badly organised so rude with me just didn’t care Supposed to be open but limited menu as she was doing an order

We came across Betsy's on Facebook noticing their lovely looking cakes and tray bakes. We decided to book in for an afternoon tea. We contacted them on Facebook and they were very responsive and we had booked our afternoon tea and made our selections. We arrived promptly, immediate parking appears limited but we found a few spaces on the nearby streets. On arrival we advised of our booking and were shown to our seats. We were asked whether we would like tea or coffee with our selections. Everything was well presented, the staff were very helpful and accomodating. The food was lovely, the scones just melt in your mouth. Highly recommended!! We will be visiting again!!!

I’ve had several afternoon tea’s at Betsy’s and each one has been as lovely as the previous.I love the look and feel of the coffee shop and the welcome is warm and genuine. The selection of cakes and treats are tempting and to die for and I can guarantee that you will not be disappointed.

Fabulous little coffee shop. Everything is freshly baked each day, I would definitely recommend a visit. I will be trying the afternoon tea when I visit again.

I came to betsys with my children and friends. We were not greeted with a smile or offered menu' s or a seat, instead We were informed that the cafe was closing soon. When checking it didn't close for another 20 minutes, which I would of understood if it had been 5minutes till closing, This made us feel abit uncomfortable and not sure what to do. So we ordered some cakes to go. Which were really nice. If I had some advice to give, it would be that it doesn't matter what time in the day customers arrive, don't tell them that you are closing soon so it makes them feel rushed and uncomfortable. A service with a smile goes along way.

1st time i went today,loved it! Lovely 'teapot' full of proper tea.

I would have chose no stars at all if I could. I was out working posting leaflets and quickly popped in just to see if I could use the customer toilets. I also offered to buy something but was still denied access to the l Toilets. As a worker of the streets we don't have toilets on standby so I have to ask local businesses or pubs etc. Not happy at all.

Outstanding cakes and drinks. Fantastic place to go and catch up with friends.

What can I say what a find this is the best place in England for tea and cake and I have been to a few Kat and her staff make you so welcome by the time you leave you feel like family and her chocolate brownies are to die for afternoon teas are the best. keep up the good work Kat your little shop is unique

My friends and I had a lovely personal experience at Betsys for my baby shower. The shop was closed for my guests only for a few hours. Sandwiches and cakes were beautiful , would highly recommend.

Nice cakes, lovely shop but quite pricey, take out sanwhiches same price as eating in but no crisps/coleslaw and teacake is tiny just wrapped in foil, nice to go as a treat once in a while, but too costly for regular weekly visits. Overall pleased but could be alot busier/people going more regular if prices werent as steep.

I went with my partner for a drink and cake, we certainly were not disappointed with what we received.

I have been a few times... for a quick coffee, afternoon tea or just for cake. The cakes are just amazing! Too good that every time I go to get my nails done I seem to pop in and get a cakeaway box! Delicious! Well worth a visit!

I have visited here a few times now and absolutely love it. The cakes are amazing and theres always something different to try. Kat is lovely and always accommodating. I love the cake away boxes as they are great for parties or get together if you don't wanna bake yourself. The afternoon tea is well worth the money as well and you get a great selection.
