A massive, massive shout out for Anita (hotel employee) from Thursday 29th August this year I had the pleasure of photographing a beautiful wedding at this wonderful venue. I have covered many weddings here and the professionalism and quality of all staff is impeccable always. Finally I have found a moment to praise them all in this post. I think I may have to say that this very organized special day falls in the top 5 of the best wedding venues I have covered in my entire career (40 years). Sam the wedding planner/organizer from my point of view also deserves praise. If anyone is wondering what the table cloth picture is all about, this was Anita creating a safe den area for the young children to play and she told the children not to open the door and escape into the main hallway of hotel for their safety which they obeyed 😇. Absolutely 1st class in every possible respect, a dream venue. I was very kindly treated as a guest by the couple so I had the full 5 star treatment for the entire day, evening and night time. Love to all ❤🥂📸 x

Lovely relaxed park, no WiFi and no signal which was nice as we could shut off and completely relax. The lodges are located apart so you have quite a bit of privacy. The lodge was clean and had everything you needed and was beautifully decorated. The only downside for us was the hot tub jets weren’t working only 1 jet in 1 corner, we mentioned to the guy who cleaned them and he had a look and was gonna sort but next time we used it, it was no different. But perfect relaxing weekend and we will definately be back. We went into Louth and what a lovely thriving town centre and market!

We were married in Louth registry office on the 12th of May and we booked dinner at 5.00 for 25 family and friends to celebrate our day. I spoke with Chloe who was so kind, she offered advice and helped me organise our time at the hotel. Nothing was too much trouble and although it was a small intimate dinner she made me feel so special. From the moment we arrived our day was made absolutely perfect. the red carpet and the beautiful private room, the staff we’re waiting for us and we were greeted with Prosecco, All the staff were absolutely amazing, so friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The food was absolutely amazing, everyone enjoyed their meal. Our compliments to your wonderful chef. We had photos taken on the stairs and the band stand. We can’t thank everyone enough for making our day as special as if we had been having a huge wedding there. A memory to treasure forever.❤️ Thank you to everyone Mr and Mrs Stephenson

Wow wow wow. The overnight spa package is amazing. You get access to the pool, jacuzzi, steam rooms and ice room. Then a lovely afternoon tea. I had a hot stone massage with the amazing Sam she is fantastic and worth asking for. Then we went back to our hotel room to relax until our 730pm dinner reservation. I had melt in the mouth steak my sister had fish and chips or should I say whale and chips. 😁 We booked in for the buffet style breakfast for 9am. Food was piping hot staff were constantly replenishing and checking everyone was happy. Will definitely be returning.

This is our come back to hotel when we need some well deserved relaxation. The newly built leisure facilities are amazing , love the ice room and outdoor hydrotherapy pool. The rooms are spacious , well decorated and spotlessly clean , we always have a suite with a sitting area, well worth it. Breakfast is always delicious and plentiful, dinner the same. Large well kept grounds and outdoor sitting areas.

The breakfast and food at the evening charity event was presented well & totally delicious. Many hotels could learn from Kenwicks’ hospitality focus.

I went here for a family wedding and I really do love it. I don’t understand the bad reviews if I’m honest, it’s a very beautiful hotel and the food is gorgeous. I have also been here previously to try out the restaurant and although quite empty, the food was still fresh and hot. The staff there are lovely too. (The pictures are of the three course meal served at the wedding.)

Quick lunch with family. When we arrived the receptionist advised that we go through to the restaurant and we would be met there and assigned a table. Well, no-one was there, as the one poor sole assistant was running the whole show on her own and was behind the bar. Nevertheless, we smiled and found a table. There was a group of a dozen golfers to our left and this lady had to deal with them for drinks and food orders first. She was very apologetic but it was still another twenty minutes before she came to our table, and that was only for drinks. Another fifteen minutes later she served drinks and took the food order. Two of us opted for the Club Sandwich with a side order of chips, and the two ladies took advantage of the tapas option, with four small dishes for £20. But there were the golfers to be served first. Finally, an hour and a quarter after we sat down, we got our order. The tapas dishes were average, the meatballs being dry and tasteless. Only the tempura prawns were decent, and it was clear that they had gone from freezer to fryer in short order. And then we came to the Club Sandwiches, supposedly a delicious medley of breast of chicken, crispy bacon and salad. Only the chicken was as dry as the Gobi desert, so much so that I put it in a napkin and let my dogs chew on it later. As for the crispy bacon...well they just neglected to include it altogether. When I pointed this out, it the bacon was eventually received separately, on a plate, when the meal was almost finished. The fries were dry and bland, as if they had been cooked this morning and put in the oven prior to serving. And finally, the bill was delivered, without the promised tapas deal, so we had to wait again whilst they sorted out what had gone wrong. Not good enough...not nearly good enough. This is a beautiful hotel in the heart of the Lincolnshire Wolds, and I would have got better food in a greasy spoon on the A46.

We had a lovely meal tonight at this restaurant. We went early, so it very peaceful looking out onto the golf course. I am vegan - but will eat some veggie food - and my husband is pescatarian. We both had a gorgeous vegetarian French onion soup for starters. I followed mine with a lovely vegan Dhal, while my husband had beautifully done salmon. The desserts were excellent. I asked to have the dairy cheeseboard made with vegan cheese and humous. This was done readily. I really do think this restaurant could make so much more of a separate vegan menu, as they can turn dishes into vegan-friendly so easily. It needs to be played-up more as an asset. Overall, a gorgeous meal. Compliments to the chef. Very good customer service from start to finish. Loved it.

As a new member of the place I am extremely disappointed. Went to the restaurant today. Had better food at a roadside burger van. Quality is poor. Service ok. The gym is very good and the pool is great if they stopped the intoxicated people getting in. Shouting and swearing scaring all the children is not great. Definitely not a exclusive place I am sure it once was. It’s about on the same level as a caravan site in mablethorpe.

To celebrate our big day, my husband and I invited 40 family and friends as guests to a dinner in the Meridian Room and several of us stayed the night. There had been a wedding the previous day. I was so disappointed with the cleanliness of the place, from the entrance onwards. The Meridian Room had had a very light clean, if one at all. All the doors, the bar, easy chairs etc looked soiled with fingerprints, and that certainly isn't acceptable in the current COVID situation! Most of the staff looked very scruffy, soiled uniform etc, and the Hotel Manager, Alan, looked even worse! The hotel receptionists' COVID plastic screens were filthy, and they were so disorganized, causing hassle with booking breakfast. The dining tables and table legs in the main dining room were dirty as we noticed at breakfast the following morning. On positive notes, the food we chose for our dinner party was very good, most of our guests were very happy with their choices. And the grounds, and views from the Hall windows are lovely. Our room for the night wasn't as nice as we were expecting, very basic, not set out properly, bedding below average, no nice interior touches at all, certainly over priced. Despite the above, we had a lovely and happy day, but we certainly wouldn't stay or use the Hall's facilities again, and we wouldn't recommend it. They either have the wrong staff for customer services and their cleaning team, or they are very under staffed. We have always known Kenwick Hall to have a good reputation, but sadly, we are disappointed.

Voucher not extended I don’t recommend this spa at all due to the poor level of customer service myself and friends have received. I also don’t recommend buying gift vouchers from them at all. I was bought a voucher in April 2021 for my 40th birthday (this was when we was still in lockdown). The plan was to use this with a group of friends to celebrate my 40th and also my friends cancer journey. When I realised that the voucher was only valid for 6 months, I contacted the hotel explaining what we wanted to use the voucher for and if they could extend for a year for us to be able to make the group booking, other business vouchers are valid for at a least a year if not more so I thought a reasonable request? I was advised by a receptionist the manager could only extend till the end of the year 2021, nothing more, they couldn’t claim the money for this. I was in shock when they had already had the money as voucher already purchased and paid for. We have been unsuccessful as working mums to get a date until January 2022 a month after agreed extension. So i contacted again to see if anything could be done. They are refusing to extend for an extra month. They only offer us 10.00 off per person for our booking. I must stress the voucher was valid for 139.99 wanting to use on a lazy Sunday which is 109.00 so they would of had 30.00 gain!!! I have called on several occasions asking for the manager to call back no call just get an email response. I have emailed several occasions asking several questions which are never answered such as what did you do for your customers in the heat of covid when you was closed and vouchers had expired, how did you manager to extend the vouchers then. I have still not had a reply to all my questions raised and have all the email chains to price this. I even contacted the head office as one of the emails states that this is head office rules and we have to follow them. I also contacted head office and had a very helpful lady who asked me to email the manager directly Paul which I did as all emails kept coming from Chloe receptionist supervisor, so I did this one last time and I got a response a couple of weeks later via email no call again, stating all that could be offered was 10.00 off per person and if I wished to book contact Chloe. No sorry about the way we feel, no questions answered, no call etc. I have emailed Paul again and no response and no response from the directors of head office. Let me know your thoughts is it unreasonable to ask for an extension on a voucher to use within a year bearing in mind covid lock down for 2 of the months and take the business’s approx 400.00 plus the money they have already had for the voucher? All I can say is the business must be doing very well to be able to offer this poor service and turn down trade #tryingtosupportlocalbusinesses

Lovely hotel. Rooms very clean and comfortable. Good food, even though limited choice. All good apart from the lack of staff and staff experience. Whilst there was a wedding on and my sisters wedding was the day after along with golf groups in attendance, the service due to staff shortage was ridiculous. We asked for liqueur coffees and waited approx 2 hrs and the 1st ones were 1/2 glass of cream, the 2nd attempt was was nothing short of a milky mess and no baileys and finally the 3rd ones were okay. We didn’t pay for them in the end but the point is that regardless of how many events are going on, the hotel needed to ensure ALL guests were looked after. My sisters wedding went well and the day was lovely as was the food but again just a little extra thought on some of the proceedings would of gone a long way in making it extra special.

We had a few nights to stay here for our 20th wedding anniversary. On the plus side, the house and grounds were lovely, the room was spacious & comfy, and the pool and extras like the hydrotherapy pool, gym, tepidarium and ice room were fun. On the downside, the receptionists routinely ignored us, the room servicing gave us just one set of towels (between two!), the breakfast was lukewarm, and several areas of the spa, like the feature showers and foot spas, were out of order. We cannot comment on the evening meal as the hotel restaurant was taken up with weddings every night, we think and we weren't attracted by the menu choices. However, we can highly recommend the Thursday night fish & chips at The Courtyard at the golf course a few steps away. They were friendly and welcoming and the fish was fresh off the docks that morning and they were happy to make a gluten free breadcrumbed fish with chips from their GF fryer. Delicious!

Okay but nothing to write home about. I visited here with my mum. The hotel is just a few miles from my daughter so we felt it was a good location. The rooms are rather dated and all in probably not worth the £140 a night for B&B. Our room only had sockets under the dressing table and so getting chargers connected was a bit of a mission. My mum would never have coped on her own with that. There were lots of cobwebs around - appreciate not many people will have stayed but all the more reason to give rooms a deep clean. Breakfast on day one appeared to have been around for a while and was a bit dried out. Day two was much better. The staff were friendly and welcoming but I was questioned when I tried to book a pool slot. Twice I was asked if I was sure I was a guest. Fortunately for the member of staff I was in a good mood. The pool was great and the hydrotherapy pool was fabulous. Changing facilities were clean and well looked after.

Kenwick Park have jusr refused to honour spa days voucers booked and paid for at the start of Covid. In our experiance, which includes prepaid concert tickets, hotel bookings and other entertainments, they are the only organisation to do so. In trying to discuss this matter with them phone calls were not returned and email correspondence was ignored until a threat of an action in the Small Claims Court was made. To my mind this says a lot about the the organisation and its culture. My suggestion is have nothing to do with them.

Hotel booked by my employer which normally means total disappointment and despair. Imagine my pleasure on discovering this was not another Travelodge-type tragedy of hopelessness but a well-appointed, properly-run hotel where staff actually smile, use the long-forgotten forms of address of Sir/Madam (communism has not reached here at least!) and are happy to help. Very happy in fact! Imagine then to find it absolutely comes in under budget for my employer and the facilities of the spa centre and pool are open to all guests. Certainly the pool and sauna/steam rooms were free and the changing rooms truly excellent. On finding I’d forgotten my bathers I tried to buy some trunks, of which they had a few pairs at the pool reception. Alas they were only in kiddies’ sizes but, on seeing my disappointment, the manager Phil, loaned me his pair which he’d not used, so that I could enjoy myself. This is above and beyond service. I am never easily impressed…but I’m impressed. I now look forward to losing myself in a bed big enough for a party and using the clean, tidy, smart and comfortable bathroom. Well done Best Western. There’s a pint behind the bar for Phil if somebody can let him know?!! Thank you. The rest of Britain’s sub-optimal hotel efforts, go and see this place and LEARN!!

We have just had a golf break at Kenwick Park, the golf course was stunning, challenging and great to play. The hotel was a little disappointing, our room was very noisy through the night and one curtain was hanging off. Although the food was good the restaurant was baron, COVID lacked finesse and attention to detail. There was nowhere to sit after dinner so there was a lack of atmosphere. Not at all what we expected of a Great Wester hotel. COVID 19 should not be an excuse for provide less and charging the same.

We spent three nights here with our Labrador Bentley and all of us had a lovely time.We had a large comfortable room overlooking the gardens with a comfortable bed, the only thing missing was a fridge. The bathroom had a bath with shower above and a very useful magnifying mirror. We had booked this to celebrate our 49th Wedding Anniversary and itwas our first trip to a hotel during these difficult times and we felt the staff dealt with the situation very well. Due to Covid 19 regulations our room wasn't cleaned for the duration of our stay but you only had to ask for any essentials such as towels and they were left outside the door, although we don't need a clean towel every day ! We had as usual taken antibacterial wipes and cleaning products to freshen up the bathroom. The food was very good considering the restrictions and one evening we had a Rushi Dinner. The fish and chips were excellent and we dined twice in the hotel. It was during a heatwave but with the window slightly open and a fan we all kept cool.We swam every day in the indoor pool and used the excellent hydrotherapy outside pool. Staff were always cleaning and applying up to date regulations as they were announced. We did order breakfast in our room on the first morning but felt sorry for the staff having to carry it all the way upstairs so we had breakfast outside on the terrace for the remainder accompanied by our Lab who enjoyed the sausage. We met some nice people on the terrace in the evening when we had drinks from the Bar and Bentley played with two other well behaved dogs.Parking was easy near the front of the hotel. In fact, we enjoyed it so much we are returning shortly.

Stayed in a new-ish refurbished deluxe room. It was nice and clean but with a couple of issues. The bathroom extractor fan was not working, the shower tray is actually too shallow to cope with the water thus it leaks onto the floor. The TV was not straight on the wall and despite my tinkering stayed at an annoying angle. The spa is great and real shame that some of it was closd due to Covid. Really nice though especially the outside pool. There are lots of Covid signs but I didn't notice the staff remind some guests that they must wear a mask in communal areas. Evening meal was good and great quick service. Breakfast was under staffed and calamoutious at times. The grounds are lovely and some rooms have great views across the golf course.

Currently staying at the hotel.PositivesNewly built pool and spa, very clean and modern. Beautiful grounds and golf course. Golf clubhouse does nice coffee and cake. Room cleaning staff friendly and helpful. Nice TV and neflix in our family room. Our room was very clean NegativesVery dated hotel. Im assuming this hotel was probably a 4 star years ago. It would appear that best western bought it up ( most likely on the cheap.) No effort has been made to modernise the hotel. We ordered room service for the breakfast most days and everyday it has been wrong. The morning we chose to eat in the restaurant for breakfast we waited 1 hour 15 mins and it still came out wrong. Breakfast very average Paid 5 pounds for a cocktail last night and saw the barman just pour it directly out of a can. ( i could have bought it in waitrose for 2 quid.) Our room although clean is terribly dated and zero ventilation even with the window open. Wifi very poor in room and the telephone doesn't work. I reported this to reception and their response was 'ok' and hasn't been rectified. The staff seem to lack passion and i feel they are just going through the motions. Oh, they also cocked up our swimming slots so my wife couldn't swim.

My husband and I just returned from a lovely weekend stay at the Kenwick Park Hotel. After reading some of the previous reviews, I was a little nervous and even thought about cancelling our trip. I'm American (have been living in England for years), and I feel like this makes me pickier than most. The point of our trip was to take a quick weekend trip to the beach since it's so hot right now, and our dog struggles with the heat. The hotel is in a lovely setting and is a proper country house hotel. The parking situation is easy, and the hotel grounds are lovely. There is a golf course, spa, and fitness centre. The hotel is taking Covid19 very seriously and has tons of measures in place to protect guests and staff. We had a friendly greeting at reception. Our room was very clean and pleasant. The room had a large smart TV with Netflix and we had a garden view. There were a few other dogs staying as well and the guests and staff were all really friendly to the dogs. The first night there we ate at a local pub,but I wish we'd stuck with the hotel restaurant because it was far better. Saturday night we ate at the hotel and had a lovely table outside. We had 3 courses and we both enjoyed the meal. Because of the current situation, breakfast is preordered with the option of having it delivered to your room. We took advantage of this and had a delicious breakfast in our room.Overall, it was an excellent stay, and we can't wait to go back.

I decided to go to the bar myself and order drinks, I would not have minded so much if the restaurant was bust but there we only 6 to 8 other tables dinning. Our dinner portions were rather on the small side so once back in our room we ordered a pizza delivery that did not fail to delight. Not too sure if I would return I feel let down by the room and staff.

When I titled this review Time Travel I dont wish to give the impression of Edwardian splendour as seen in Downton Abbey, no this is more akin to Down town Milton Keynes.I'm sure the rooms in the main house are lovely but unfortunately when booking Kenwick Hall didn't realise we would be put in the annex. It was like going back to 1982, apart from the large flat screen tv, everything in the room was straight off Bullys prize Board and I'm ok with a bit of nostalgia, the beds were comfy, it was clean, but the room and especially the bathroom had seen better days unlike the view from our window which was the back end of the hotel. This is not the best Western I imagined when booking and although food was limited in choice but nice and staff were excellent the room was a big let down.

We stayed here while house hunting in the local area.I wasn't sure what to expect as the reviews seemed mixed but we were pleasantly surprised. Limited parking at the front of the hotel but plenty more in the overflow car park Check in was quick, the little mints on the counter were lovely. Would have like info on the spa and dining etc at check in so if you plan to use either its best asking. Our room was upstairs and as far away from the main staircase as you can get. Only as we were leaving were we told of a another staircase that leads closer to the spa. Would have been helpful to know this as its not signposted. Room was spacious, clean and the coffee and tea tray had some lovely biscuits. The spa is the selling part of this hotel, its amazing. Make full use if it,however avoid if busy with families. On the night we arrived kids were everywhere in the pool which meant we could swim lengths. We then made sure we used it early morning and late evening to avoid them. The outside hydro area is fab, the powerful shower type jets feel amazing and are like a swedish back massage. All of the staff we encountered were polite, knowledgeable, friendly and always had a smile on their faces.Highly recommend staying here, we had a lovely break here and hope to return in the future

My friend and I decided to book a spa and stay as a treat for myself following a total hip replacement. Our afternoon tea arrived almost 2 hours late, so we decided to stay dressed due to my lack of mobility and wait for our booked treatments then go in the spa after our treatment, but then found out all the spa facilities were closed. We explained to the spa receptionist our day hadn’t gone to plan, due to the afternoon tea being almost 2 hours late, and we couldn’t rush about due to my new hip settling in so as we’d paid extra for further treatments the following morning could we use our complimentary robe and slippers the next day (Sunday) and use the spa as we hadn’t got the chance today, she said no she’d have to speak to the manager who wasn’t in til Monday! We said we would have to cancel our treatment as we might as well get off home the next day as we hadn’t had the experience we expected, she replied fine. The following morning breakfast was a disaster, nowhere to sit, had to wait ages for a table, hardly any food left, no drinks either, we were meant to help ourselves to tea coffee and music but no hot water and the juice was empty too. More importantly, with my new hip I struggled to get up and down the stairs in the spa, I looked for a lift but couldn’t see one. It took me ages to get up and down the stairs causing me a lot of pain as the stairs were spiral, staff watched my struggle and nobody directed me to the lift which was out of view as I noticed at the en doc the second day

We were recommended by friends to go for an evening meal at the Kenwick Park Hotel, and we looking forward to a lovely meal. On our arrival I was astounded at the attitude of the staff. If we had not said Good evening I am sure the waitress would not had done, then they could not find our booking. We were asking to sit in a foyer to wait, after 10minutes a waitress brought us the menu, which was a sheet of A4 paper. When we asked if there was another more extensive menu we were told no that was the only one set menu for tonight, a Saturday evening. There was a 'choice' of 3 starters, 4 mains and 3 deserts. At that point we would have left, but it was getting a bit late to go anywhere else. We ordered chicken an a pork chop as mains. Starters we had a cashew nut, beetroot salad and tomato soup. The soup was ok, the salad was not very good. Then came the mains, absolutely disgusting, a small portion of chicken in what looked like baked beans, nothing else, the pork chop was 'served' with a few potatoes & little else and presentation was appalling. Sweets we has Eton mess and cheese & biscuits, obviously someone did not know how to make Eton Mess and the cheese was rock hard. Staff were miserable and needed training. Obviously they had a big function on in other room. If this was the case why did they still take bookings? We will never return, one of the very worst meals we have ever had. I work in the hospitality industry.

I took my friend for afternoon tea yesterday at the time of booking a week ago I told the receptionist that I was dairy free and my friend is gluten free. When we arrived the young man who was on duty in the dining room said that he would let the chef know. After waiting for half an hour he apologised for our wait explaining that it was his fault because he didn’t read the morning diary properly and the chef didn’t have prior notice of our dietary needs. Without going into to much detail, the afternoon got worse, when we were eventually served with our lunch the quality of the food and the presentation was appalling, the gluten free plate had what looked like a spoonful of cream on the top, the young man explained that it was cheesecake....without the base ! That was only an example of what happened. I did tell the young man that I was not impressed, he apologised profusely, I stressed that in my opinion none of it was his fault, he was on his own, welcoming guests, serving drinks and serving the food., for a very young member of staff I think that was expecting too much. Needless to say I did ring to speak to the manager, I did tell him that I would definitely not go back there again, unfortunately for him there are far better rated places to eat in nice surroundings.

I stayed here last night and can’t fault the place. Upon arrival I was met by a friendly receptionist who booked me and and pointed me in the direction of my room along with reserving me a table for my evening meal. When I got into the room it was really clean warm and spacious, what more could you ask for really. When I went for food I was greeted by a really nice lady, Sarah I think her name was who helped me to my seat brought my drink and took my food order, the food was delicious and Sarah went out of her way to make sure I was made welcome. 10/10 for service. Thanks

4 of us went for overnight spa stay, spa was lovely and had nice relaxing treatments, shame steam room was out of order. Afternoon tea was nice would of preferred a few less sweets and more savouries (crisps/nuts). Had a hic up with booking in for evening meal as reception never advised us of a big private function so couldn't get booked in. Lovely lady called Phyllis helped us sort it, kept apologising throughout our evening meal although it wasn't down to her to organise. Rooms where comfortable and good selection at breakfast. There is nowhere to sit and have a drink with friends who where also residents (7 people) if there is a wedding taking place and the restaurant is full. I.e. no residents lounge . I visited the kenwick hotel for Sunday lunch 8/9/19 I thought I would give it another chance as it was around 5 years since my last visit after having a bad experience last time with Sunday Lunch, we arrived at 1pm and the restaurant was so empty which was very surprising, I think there were more staff than customers, what can I say about the lunch, the carvery (I say that loosely)was carved by what looked liked a very uninterested member of kitchen staff, the choice was unsatisfactory to say the least, if you didn’t like a type of veg, well you would of missed out as there were 4 types of veg mixed together in a tureen being kept hot and nice and soggy under a steam bath, roast potatoes ,boiled potatoes, and watery gravy, all for £19.95 for 3 course, the dining room is very tired, chairs all scratched up, lining hanging from the bottom of some, not what you would expect from a great western hotel.

We visited the restaurant one night as part of our stay in the lodges, having been told it was great. Sadly, it wasn't. They were quick to take our order (yay!), but took ages to bring the drinks and needed reminding. The food, when it arrived, was not great quality and hugely over-priced for what they offered. They forgot the vegetables on our daughter's food completely, and they never did appear even when we asked and reminded them.

Firstly took a week to get hold of the spa to book a day (although when we went there seemed to be 2 members of staff on the spa reception). When I managed to book it, I received a confirmation email where none of the links seemed to work so asked for another email to be sent, however the information on this seemed to be incorrect as we had a choice of afternoon teas but when we got there only received a scone and cup of tea. Poor value for money- £49 for a 25 minute treatment (which was just a basic foot massage), use of limited sauna and steam rooms and a cup of tea and scone. I would not recommend this as a luxury spa day or break

We were looking forward to revisiting The Kenwick unfortunately this was a very disappointing experience. We were seated quickly and the menu appeared good. There was no soft drink ie J20, Elderflower sparkling so ordered tonic. The bread rolls were served very warm and the starters arrived after quite a wait. These were all delicious and good size. I’d ordered the roast beef requesting it pink however was later advised it was served well done so swapped to pork. The mains were served after another wait and we quickly noticed that the meals were served barely warm on cold plates. The vegetables were served steaming albeit in rather unattractively large pieces. The waitress removed the cold pork lunches and my husband who had beef was hungry and decided to just eat his meal. The second attempt we were served after my husband had finished and we were brought a fresh portion of vegetables. The pork and gravy were hot and tasty sadly the roast potatoes were barely warm inside although looked lovely were not pleasant. When asked how the replacement meals were I had to report the roast potatoes were not hot. We were not offered an alternative so left them. We were hungry so decided to order dessert and were offered these or coffee to compensate for the food issues. The coffee came slowly however was good. The lemon and raspberry posset with almond shortbread was disappointing. The presentation was inelegant and the posset runny with the shortbread being rather tasteless. Such a shame that the food and service was so poor we will not be returning.

I enjoyed the personalised package with 2 hours of treatment, afternoon tea & use of all the health facilities. The treatments I picked were a back & leg hot stone massage, facial & scalp massage. The lady who performed them was lovely, really friendly & professional-thankfully without all the inane chit chat that so many people insist on. The steam room wasn’t steamy, there seemed to be some issue with the ceiling, but the other areas were lovely, well maintained & very clean. Afternoon tea was tasty & ample in proportion. All in all a good time was had by all & we left feeling relaxed & happy.

We’ve stayed here several times on a spa stay with dinner included. Service used to be very slow and not particularly friendly. At our recent stay the service was much better however the food we ordered appears almost instantly and we had 3 courses in less than an hour. The food was terrible - it’s got worse! Uninventive menu and obviously ready made or microwaved bearing in mind how quick it arrived! Nothing seems freshly cooked apart from the battered haddock which seems to be the only thing they can get right. My starter was a few prawns thrown on a piece of crusty bread with some bottled sweet chilli sauce on top - not nice. The addition of ‘pea shoots’ on top of everything doesn’t make it good food! Dessert was awful - frozen profiteroles which although defrosted were hard on the outside and lemon tart (tiny piece!) which was also obviously bought in and frozen as it was tasteless and pastry was thick & soggy. We always look forward to the breakfast which is plentiful but the best thing about it used to be the sausage and they’ve changed these - Still apparently locally sourced but grainy and tasted like beef. Hotel still very dated. Not impressed and has put us off coming back completely. Shame as the spa is lovely!

I have just enjoyed a truly relaxing, decadent and sumptuous spa day at Kenwick. From the moment you walk into the light and airy atrium you are greeted by beautiful and tasteful decor and friendly and helpful staff. All of the facilities were immaculate from the changing room, pool, various hot and cold treatment rooms to the post treatment relaxation room. Nothing has been overlooked in creating a superbly luxurious environment in which to completely unwind. You feel totally pampered with the fluffiest robes and slippers. The treatment was sublime and utterly relaxing. The afternoon tea was also of a equally high standard and was enjoyed with a lovely bottle of Prosecco. Top class.

The wedding that we visited was lovely spacious room and food was great. The wedding was beautiful and was enjoyed by all and the young lads that were very overstretched behind the bar was incredibly friendly. However there is a reason that 5 was not given. A short woman possibly a supervisor on the Saturday before the wedding happened he was busy serving drinks came up and barked her commands at him no please or thank you. The next morning the ones that stayed over thought it would be nice to have breakfast together so we met up in the morning only to be told we could not sit together and the large table that would accomadate us was for the golfers. We were told to wait by the same woman that barked her orders at the young lad the day before and seemed quite rude. My friend was very upset as told to sit on different tables. Getting a drink at breakfast was impossible no glasses or cups out and when we asked for a glass was told to wait in the end we were waiting that long we had to lean across the bar to get one just so we could get a drink.

I’ve stayed in numerous rooms here and this was probably one of the most spacious rooms I’ve had in the main hotel. Was given a large family room. Comfortable and well dressed. Some can be a little dated but this was good. The main struggle I always have here is getting a meal. The restaurant is so often busy with big golfing parties etc. The food had been fairly good if I’ve had a meal but could do with varying menu to suit season. The meals are all fairly heavy and more suited to the winter period. The gym is by far the best around so this draws me back! WiFi is decent too

On previous visits I have always enjoyed a carvery service Sunday lunch but this has now been replace with a served Sunday lunch. While the food is still of a good standard you now pay for each individual item rather than the package of 2 or 3 courses and for some reason which I fail to understand the vegetables served separately to the table are obviously in short supply.... This is the cheapest element of the meal and I would suggest that generosity would be the order of the day. When we asked for a table for four for dinner the waiting staff took what seemed like ages to decide whether they could fit us in or not after a period of negotiation with the chefs. Once we were in the dining room waiting staff were pleasant enough, however several items on the (fairly short) menu were not available. Food was OK - beef bourgignon was excellent, and wine served at the right temperature. We also had breakfast here which was, again, just OK. The hot buffet items ran out and replenished only alter a wait. Fried eggs had been around a while so the tops had a laminated feel. Excellent sausages. Poor croissants. Nice selection of jams. Fruit salad should have just been called apple and pear salad. Tea and coffee tasted like the containers had not been washed properly so were contaminated by each other. Even the hot water tasted vaguely of coffee. We were surprised that things were so variable at a Best Western. Overall you had the feeling the staff were doing their best with good raw ingredients, but things went vaguely awry because they were under-resourced and not trained as well as they should have been.

We went to the spa for my Mother’s Day treat. Several little niggles stopped it from being good experience for me. We were 10 minutes late being shown in although the staff did allow us to stay 10 minutes after the due leaving time. The steam room was closed for maintenance (nobody was working on it though) and this was what I was looking forward to most. If the staff had told us this on booking, we should have looked for a plan B. They then tried to change our lunch time slot to one far too late. During lunch I was informed that my treatment time slot was also to change. As a softener we were all given a free drink, which was fair enough. The savoury afternoon tea was not what I had seen on their website menu and left me disappointed. My daughter’s eclair cream was totally frozen. It turns out that menu might be available in the main hotel, but not at the spa. I discussed this with the staff and suggested that their website could usefully be tweaked to add the spa menu to prevent expectation deficit.

The room was well furnished and decorated , four poster bed and a settee and comfy chairs in the sitting area along with a desk etc.The bathroom was equally large and also had a large window overlooking the grounds , the shower cubicle was large and there were his and her sinks. Both rooms were immaculately clean and the bed was just so comfy we didn't want to get up.The new leisure facilities are fantastic and so worth the wait. The pool is large and well looked after. Really disappointing birthday lunch :-(When we arrived it was almost ten minutes before we even saw a member of staff, we had booked afternoon tea for 6 adults and 1 child, we ask to see a menu which offered two types of afternoon tea and we all decided on the hot choice.... unfortunately though we never got given a choice and the lady just bought us out 7 adult sandwich ones, which we only required 6 as had a child with us!!! we said "oh we didn't want that one" and her reply was you don't get a choice it's up to the chef!! SHOCKING!! I ordered my little girl a child's meal as she didn't like any of the sandwiches at all.. after 25 minutes her meal finally came out!! But unfortunately the mash was mustard mash and extremely strong tasting and she couldn't eat it... the description was just mash!! Back to our afternoon tea, the bread was awful, the cake was dry and scones were rock hard and the cheesecake a soggy moose! We did make a complaint and got the child meal free as she couldn't eat it and half price on the afternoon tea. Extremely poor quality food and service so disappointing, the picture below is for two people and should of cost £12.95 each!!

Very disappointed, when we mentioned our concerns to the waiter he said he would let the kitchen know. However we received no feedback from anyone. Definitely not worth the price on the menu. Perhaps they don't care. Husband had large fish and chips which he said was OK, although not as well cooked as the previous times. We have been several times recently but this was by far the worst portion sizes we have had. Would think twice about returning.

Went of Mother's Day, for an afternoon tea. Six of us were placed on a rather small table, which only just managed to take all the plates etc, as long as we put the salt/pepper etc on the floor. For afternoon tea was expecting a little more finesse, although did do a gluten free one which was needed by one guest. Overall was ok, but nothing special

Eating out with friends who knew the chef and recommended we went. The food was quick to come out, for starter I had the chicken parfet which was nice although not enough break, luckily I had my side roll so I didn't leave any meat. Whilst very traditional meals on the menu there were also fajitas which I ordered however were like none I've ever had, seasonal vegetables with them, courgettes, mushrooms, peppers - it was unusual but lovely

Very disappointing carvery on Mother's Day.We booked well in advance and expected a la carte restaurant meal but on arrival we found the only food available was a carvery.More like a mediocre canteen meal, decent starters, tasteless beef, tasteless crumble pud and indescribable panacotta. We booked because we have enjoyed a la carte here before, and we asked for a table in the restaurant. Ruined what should have been a good occasion.

Just been for lunch with the in-laws, the meal was very good as was the service, I loved the starter which was red onion and goats cheese tartlet with rocket salad. The rocket salad was just 3 bits of rocket which was a bit poor. The rest of the meal was lovely and the black cherry cheese cake, let's just say I could have eaten more x
