Huge selection of freshly made sandwiches, quiche, sausage rolls etc. The six of us ate in and were all very impressed by our choices. The bread and generous amount of fillings were first class. Uses Hornsea and quirky pottery and a proper teapot and teacup! Very friendly staff. Truly a hidden gem

Stopped by to pick up couple of quick sandwiches, very friendly service and ended up also buying a lovely salad, a quiche and slice of brownie. All freshly made and very tasty. A great find and we’ll certainly be returning.

If this is the “best” of British I’d be more than a little disappointed. Uncomfortable atmosphere as soon as you walk through door. Owner clearly lacks customer service skills. I asked for a cheese and chutney sandwich, I was quickly informed by the chap behind the till they were out of granary but had white or whole meal. I opted for wholemeal. Which I’d like to add he tried to overcharge me by 50p! I came back to collect my sandwich and noticed it was a wrap. I most definitely would not have chosen a wrap. The owner snapped back loudly and said “I told you, I definitely told you”. This is with other customers in the cafe. Embarrassing. Food is average albeit expensive. (£4.10 for this) Save yourself some pennies and go to Waitrose, you’d get yourself better service there for sure!

Randomly came across this as we couldn’t find anything in the city centre that wasn’t fully booked or really expensive and I’m so glad we did. The food is outstanding and so much choice ! Great value too. Highly recommend !

A restful stop-off for a Unesco World-Heritage-City coffee, with perfect toast, imaginative sandwiches...and cake. Non-chain, which I like: small, perfectly formed and more comfortable than the tall bar-stool type chairs look. It's just the spot to have your refreshment and gaze blankly at the wall or spectate through the window, according to your choice. Service with a smile is charming and welcome, so the whole package just makes you feel good about the place, the world and yourself. Did I mention the cake?

My wife and I recently got married in Bath and were looking for a place to get some lunch on the move for our guests. We chose the best of British deli after trying their sandwiches, which were delicious, and ordered 80. Sarah was very accommodating, being able to work around all of the varied diets we had in the group and even delivering them on the morning of the wedding to a shop near the venue. And the service wasn't the end of it, the guests were all raving about how delicious they were. All 80 thumbs up for the best of British deli.

Lovely deli with a great selection, I love that you can choose what type of bread you want. Brilliant customer service to accompany my freshly made sandwich. Only issue for me is that the bacon was a bit too hard.

Inside there are three small tables with barstools to perch on. Not very sturdy. Perhaps I chose the wobbly one. Perhaps I have a fat bottom. Nice coffee Lady in charge handed it over with a nice smile.

We discovered this deli/cafe by chance. We needed a light lunch and were very pleasantly surprised to find Best of British as we walked around Bath visiting the Christmas market. We had roasted root vegetable soup, delicious with the tasty bread added. The cafe latte was very nice as an accompaniment.

One of the best sandwich/baguette venues in Bath for eat in or t/a, everything homemade including all the cakes and quiches. Also serves great coffee and a good tea selection. I no longer live in Bath so on a recent quick visit decided to stop here for a light lunch and was not dissapointed, it's still great. Had a chicken & bacon salad on granary, superb. This is a small establishment with limited high tables and bar stools so not a place for a drawn out languid lunch but still comfortable enough to make this a fantastic pitstop and refuel place. Given this is a Bath eatery the prices are super reasonable and the food value for money. If you want a quick light lunch or Coffee and homemade cake then seek out Best of British.

Bowled in wanting a full English for shopping fuel; thought it was a cafe because of the name. What I got wasn't even close, no shrooms or grilled tomato, not a hint of any beans or a runny egg, BUT...oh my giddy on, generous portion of 'proper' scrambled eggs made with butter and seasoned perfectly with freshly ground black pepper, 2 very meaty coarse cut pork chipolatas. However the star of the show were 3 thick cut smoked bacon rashers, slow cooked to the right side of crispy, the flavour was a real head kicker and reminiscent of the days before everyone (well almost) injected them with brine and sprayed on the smoke 'flavour'. All topped off with buttered toast and nicely bitter coffee. The seating was a bit uncomfortable, I couldn't get close to my plate and my legs ached by the end of my 'sitting', but it was a price worth paying. £9 all in, not expensive considering the quality of the produce and cooking. Bath is never cheap unless you're a shoplifter. I asked where they'd sourced their bacon, I assumed it was dry cured, 'smoked' was the answer, so close. Larkhall Butchers. Good to see it's local, I will definitely be getting some soon. Not really a sit down gaff, but if it's quality you're after give The Best Of British a try.

We had noticed the board outside advertising the chilli so went inside and placed our order. When we placed the order we were asked if we wanted a bread roll for an extra price but we thought that chilli is usually enough. Unfortunately we were wrong as although the chilli was tasty it was a very small bowl and it had not included any rice. So in conclusion we found this good for a snack but not enough for a proper lunch. The toilet is tucked away and is very small, also could have been cleaner.

I've lived in Bath for several years but am rarely out and about in the town centre and so lose track of the 'in' places to go; however, a couple of weeks ago I found myself passing by Best of British and was lured in by the enormous cakes I saw on display as I peered tin hrough the window. It turns out that everthing is made in house by the owner, Sarah, who I learned, ironically, is actually an Australian who just happens to love Britain and to have made it her home. Although I'd been tempted in by the biggest chocolate fudge cake you've ever seen, I actually ended up having a big hunk of marmalade bread and butter pudding (superb..). If cakes aren't your thing, she also does salads and soups - the day I was there, there was a quinoa, squash, pomegranate and mint salad and a proper old-school potato salad, as well as brocolli and stilton soup. Usually, when I wax lyrical about somewhere there's a 'but' but even the coffee was delicious and not at all bitter. I suppose the only 'but' I can think of is that the shop should be four times the size!

We stopped by here yesterday for a late lunch while out running errands. I had the bacon and brie sandwich and my boyfriend had the BLT, they were both very good sandwiches although we thought them a bit expensive (especially when you add on the 70p per sandwich to eat in). We both tried the locally made juice drinks (still lemonade and lime with ginger respectively) and neither of us would buy them again. I would buy sandwiches from here again to take away, and I would try the cakes next time too (as a friend of mine thinks they're amazing!).

A little off the beaten track but the second time that we have visited this deli for lunch when visiting Bath and wasn't disappointed! We turned up with our baby on a pram and received friendly service. Really enjoyed our food and drink - echo comments at the coffee is great. Can thoroughly recommend the beef sandwich - full of flavour served with a lovely choice of breads. We had a chocolate brownie to finish (huge portions - we had one between two) and and still trying to work how they made it 6 hours late - tasted sooo good!Well worth seeking out - we will definitely be back!

Merece hacerlo bien.
