Bertie's Restaurant & Bar in Edinburgh, City of

Dîner en famille chez Bertie's, les avis nous ont plutôt incité à visiter cette adresse. Le décor et l'accueil sont très bien mais nous avons été un peu déçus de la qualité des fish and chips entre autres. Ce n'était pas forcément les moins bons que nous ayons goûter mais certainement pas les meilleurs. Nous nous sommes laissés tenter par c'est drôle d'idée de dessert, la barre mars frie et c'est encore plus décevant. Attention ils ajoutent 10 % d'office en pourboire sur la note finale vous pouvez refuser mais c'est plus que fortement imposé.

Very friendly staff, checking in a few times to make sure everything was in order. Had a battered haddock, which was amazing and the best fish n’ chips I’ve had ever. Definitely recommend.

Fish and chips ottimo, per chi non ama il fritto c’è anche una versione più leggera cotta al forno e in più hanno una versione vegana. Locale grande e caratteristico, personale gentile e alla mano. Consigliatissimo se volete provare un abbondante fish and chips, le porzioni sono molto grandi.

Repas à 2 un samedi midi. Le restaurant idéalement situé, en haut de Victoria Street. Prix corrects, nourriture excellente et en grande quantité, et service efficace. Il y a plusieurs choix vegans sur la carte. Le restaurant est immense et très bien agencé et la décoration est originale. Attention, l'affluence est importante, préparez vous à entendre 10 à 15 minutes aux heures de pointes. Cependant, l'équipe fait tout pour que l'attente soit réduite. Je recommande !

Very disappointed. Was looking forward to it after such great reviews. My breaded fish was dry and did not smell entirely fresh. I did think it had been lying for a while or even reheated. I accept I should have sent it back However customer next to me ordered the same and hers looked entirely delicious, fresh and appetising. Great spot for Fish n Chips! Atmosphere was lively and busy. I reserved a table so we didn't wait long, but I saw a line of folks waiting, so be sure to reserve in advance. Haggis Pie was good, a friend said I had to try the fried Mars bar, it was ok.

Un super endroit pour déguster des plats comme le fish and chips ou les fameuses pies avec de la sauce gravy. Situé dans la jolie rue de Victoria Street, le lieu est idéal pour un déjeuner entre deux visites de la ville.

We stopped in here to cheekily try the famous Deep Fried Mars Bar, and whilst the food was all the guilty pleasure goodness you would expect, the service and hygiene levels at Bertie's left much to be desired.

Très grand restaurant où il fait froid surtout aux tables côté fenêtres. Personnel gentil mais trop efficace. Service extrêmement rapide , on mange son fish and chips avec son apéro ! Tant pis pour la bouteille de blanc ! Conclusion pour manger en 10 mn un repas entre copains alors qu’on a le temps c’est l’endroit idéal. Le poisson est bon . À éviter si vous voulez passer un bon moment entre amis , idéal gens pressés.

Great food.. awesome place… appalling attitude from the chap with glasses at the front of house. To summarise… glasses needs a solid lesson in good customer service.

I loved it, of course it is touristy that's what you are when you travel. Great Fish n Chips and don't missed The Haggis Spring Rolls.
