I dived into a robust sourdough loaf with whipped herb noisette, before sharing a salad of courgettes and whipped (there’s a lot of it about) ricotta, sage and rocket salsa verde – so densely green you could almost feel the chlorophyll – and a fabulously satisfying grilled radicchio with broad bean purée and pickled Tropea onions (a super-sweet variety from Calabria)

The Bermondsey Larder surprised us with the fantastic taste of the food and the brilliant hospitality. Perhaps it is because the decor doesn’t insinuate a brilliant dining experience… to the contrary, we had a fantastic dinner with friend. We particularly recommend the crispy potatoes! Yum!

What a gem of a find!!! This was DEEEE LISH! Congrats to the chef and the waiting staff. Some places are just like boomerangs… you keep going back. Was recommended to me by a friend who’s been there 4 times. Magical ingredients bursting with quality and creating a cirque de soleil performance in the mouth! People… just go! Fantastic Ala Carte or fixed pescatarian or meat menu for £47, or vegetarian for £40. So many dishes!!!! We couldn’t get dessert in. Value for money with a capital V!

Impeccable service and food. The taster menu is sublime with awesome originality ingredients, prep, cooking and presentation. I don’t know what the chefs are up to but some kind of wizardry is at play with how they transform staple ingredients into an alchemy of flavours and textures. The staff are super enthusiastic and energetic, the whole place buzzes with excitement adding to the experience. Considering the quantity we ate the menu was great value and the natural wines on offer added yet more originality and fun to the evening.

A fantastic dinner. Really impressed by the Larder, got a good vibe going on. Front of House staff are amazing. It was fairly busy and service ran with calm precision. It makes for a good atmosphere for the guest to relax. Every dish was devine. A quirky menu with interesting combinations. The Char Siu skewers, Monkfish with Cauliflower and a simply superb spiced Duck dish stood out in particular. We loved the sharing dishes format and it didn't break the bank. Good value for the standard of cooking delivered.

I've been asked to leave a review, so here are my 2 pence: Ambience was great, staff were superb, I mean it, they were great, but guys you seriously need to review your portions-size policy. I understand you need to make a margin, nothing wrong with that, but portion were ridiculously small and far overpriced given the size. I would aspect that from a Michelin star restaurant, which you're not. Food was really good but definitely not worth the price, even for London, the size-price ratio is simply unacceptable. I'm no new to fine dining and what comes with it, but to put it bluntly what you do is nothing more than squeezing money out of customers. After having a costly full lunch at yours, myself and my party ended up having right away another full meal in a different restaurant. P.S. Please don't call your dessert "for two" (and charge as much) when really it's something smaller than the palm of my hand. Seriosuly this is bad.

Such a lovely hidden spot - perfect quiet courtyard between two Bermondsey parks. Granted, we went here during the Jubilee, so maybe it's a little less peaceful on most days, but mega cool restaurant, nice outdoor seating, and really good food. This is definitely the kind of place that you go for for quality over quantity, and I left feeling satisfied but not outrageously full. Everything is gorgeously presented and the wait staff are very knowledgeable and affable - shout out to Lars for showing us a great time. He described all the dishes perfectly, had fantastic recommendations, and a lovely light-hearted disposition that we all loved. Definitely give this a try, but don't come here starving!

I really want to like this place. Perhaps we got unlucky. As you walk in, you’re presented with a co-working space that I’m sure is inviting during the day, but the sight of 20+ people working on their laptops on a Friday night with a DJ playing next to them… raised eyebrows. We kept walking, the interiors are fresh, the music chilled, and the ambience friendly. We were quickly sat at a high table with stools and offered menus by a friendly member of waiting staff. The menu is where the issues began: while the individual items appeared tempting, the structure (small plates, medium plates, large plates, all denoted by nothing other than price) seemed like it was designed to bamboozle the reader into ordering the “a la carte” option at £48 / head. Is it worth paying £48 / head to not suffer the complexity of an unnecessarily difficult menu? On this occasion I didn’t think so. As a group of four in a seemingly chilled atmosphere, the prices and menu seemed to be mismatched with the ambience and service. We ended up ordering the a la carte menu “for two people” (which apparently needed staff approval) plus a few plates to share between the four of us. None of us came out to spend £200+ on food tonight. The service: while the staff were friendly and seemingly tried their best, we waited for ~30 mins between courses that we were told would “gently arrive as you ate”. Having sat down at 7:45, and not received our mains until gone 10, the price started to feel ever more offensive. The small plates were small. Charcuterie (for two people), for instance, involved TWO slices of salami roughly the size of a £2 coin, 2 slithers of ham, and 3 slices of pickled vegetable. I’m not sure I’ve ever seen such a pathetic plate. Throughout the meal it was also difficult to understand what we had paid for and what we were going to receive. The main course was delightful though: the lamb was a generous portion and was cooked to perfection. It almost made up for everything. There were delicious dishes and some friendly service, but everything was overshadowed by a feeling of being ripped off and chaos. By the end of the meal we didn’t know what we actually paid for, what was given to us by mistake, and what was given to us out of generosity / to apologise for the slow chaotic service. If they introduce some simplicity to the menu and can address the chaos of service on a busy evening then I’d consider visiting again for the good food and energised atmosphere.

We’ve dined at Bermondsey Larder three times in the past year and it’s consistently some of the best food we’ve eaten in London. Their dishes are always creative and beautifully presented, but most importantly are just really tasty. And at a price point that is really very good value as well. The wine list and wider drinks menu is also very on point and pretty keenly priced. We’ve always had really nice wines for under £30 a bottle. The service is also extremely friendly and this really adds to the experience. Waiting staff and bar staff are always very happy to talk everything through and really know their stuff. Although the location may seem a bit incongruous it’s actually a really nice space, part of a wider hotel/housing development. It’s never felt to intensely full or loud when we’ve been there, but at the same time there’s always a good atmosphere and vibe. There’s outside seating with heaters in the summer which is also a bonus. We were too engrossed in the food to take photos - maybe next time!

Everything about our visit was perfect. The steak (sirloin not bavette) was perfectly cooked - they prefer to cook it medium rare, and the starter of toasted sourdough with Baron Bigod, walnuts and local honey was fantastic. Good selection of local beers, and the service was faultless. let's hope the Larder survives - it deserves to after the Dairy problem. Highly recommended.

We ate this evening for the first time at the Bermondsey Larder. It is a stylish restaurant and the food is delicious and different, without being fussy or trendy. Decent sized portions unlike some restaurants where you can still be hungry at the end of the meal, but attractively presented with surprising flavour combinations. Despite being metres away form very many popular coffee shops, this place seems to be completely unaware of how to serve coffee. For a flat white or an americano we were offered either an old fashioned bone china teacup or a handless small beaker - neither of which were suitable. Staff were not helpful - other than to suggest if this wasn't appropriate then 'we could offer a drinking glass' for the coffee! Incredible - no wonder they were virtually empty on such a popular day.

I was excited to try this place which pitched itself as a local farm to table restaurant. We booked to sit outside but there wasn’t any lighting at all. Not wanting to sit in the dark, we sat inside instead. The waitress was lovely. Drinks were very good - I ordered a cocktail which was beautifully presented and delicious. I watched the drinks go out the bar all night and they all looked great. We had the pickles (fine, but overly sweet) and rosemary and potato bread with smoked butter which was very good. I ordered the skate. It was dry and under seasoned. The beans were tasteless and vegetables oddly slimey. I returned it and they took it off our bill. My family both had the duck, which came extremely rare. They enjoyed it but didn’t feel good later that evening. Both dishes were recommended by our host. I’m only writing this review because my experience was so different from the other reviews here. I feel like I went to a totally different restaurant. Maybe we went on a bad night?

From wobbly tables to shocking table service hygiene. We were greeted at the reception desk by a friendly lady in a red suit. Upon being sat at a wobbly table, I was horrified by the lack of hygiene throughout. EVERY SINGLE staff member (including the host/manager/supervisor) were running food and drinks to the tables by hand. By that I mean, no trays whatsoever, and THUMB BURIED DEEP into the plates and glasses, whilst continuously touching their half-placed cloth made masks. Whilst the staff were very friendly, the unlawful lack of hygiene should be addressed urgently and be at the manager's TOP priority list. The food itself was borderline mediocre. Mayfair priced, but sadly Peckham quality.

Our waiter had exceptional knowledge of his foods and wines when asked but without being imposing. A very pleasant experience all round.

I was a fan of The Dairy in Clapham so I was looking forward to visit the new restaurant in Bermondsey. It didn’t disappoint! Amazing food, great service and beautiful decor. One of my fave places in London ❤️

Though currently a little tricky to find, lovely light filled dining room with a chilled atmosphere. Well executed and interesting menu. Great service. Look forward to visiting again soon.

Fantastic dinner on day 2 since The Dairy relocated from their previous home in Clapham. The skate, tartare and bread dishes were excellent while service was super friendly and welcoming. Only issue was that it's hard to find from the main street - walk through past Shaman coffee and they're in the back of the building

We can't rate this absolute gem of a place more highly. We held our wedding reception here and Pedro and his staff were amazing. Their customer service was above and beyond. Friendly, professional, helpful and incredibly accommodating. Setting is stunning and food and wine absolutely gorgeous. All our guests raved about the venue, food, wine and all the staff. We would recommend Pedro's to anyone in a heartbeat 💓.

Exceptional! We have eaten twice at Walter’s and must say it’s our new favourite restaurant in Dulwich. The staff are excellent, and the food is divine! A great new addition to Dulwich.
