It should be noted that the tea rooms underwent new ownership during covid, and as a frequent visitor, I find them welcoming, friendly and structured.I would petition a rename to the Brownie Tea Rooms, cause the brownies down here are exceptional! The tea rooms itself is quite a small venue, and can get quite busy - with walkers and cyclists probably being the main customer base; something worth noting if you're impatient, which most of us are not. As a whole though, I think I have before, and I'll do so again - I recommend this cafe. It's a family run independent venue that fulfils all needs of passers by, and with the courtyard setup opening up, should provide a refreshing (and cool) break for summer cyclists or walkers.

We have tried this cafe a few times since it changed hands unfortunately service can be slow and disorganised even when it’s takeaway. Coffee tends to be weak when you are paying top prices one expects more. Two coffees and two cakes for £13 is definitely over the top on our last visit. We pay about £8 -£9 locally for nice coffee and cakes within a 20 mile radius of the area. The owner is very friendly and hopefully things will improve overtime.

We were in Berkeley on a Sunday afternoon and looking for a cup of coffee. There aren't many options in Berkeley, but we saw the Tea Rooms and decided to give it a try. The furniture and decor are a bit "Central England Tourist Trap", but that's fine if it what their customers want. I ordered tea for me and coffee for my wife, and a couple of cakes. My tea was nice and the cakes were excellent, but my wife's coffee was cold so I took it back to the counter - and that is where things started to go wrong. It isn't always easy to get the temperature of coffee right with an expresso machine, I understand this. But it isn't difficult to put it right either. I expected the server to simply make another one.But instead she fixed me with a steely gaze and picked up a food thermometer. And without breaking eye-contact with me she proceeded to check the temperature of the coffee.Seriously? Not prepared to take my word for it? For the sake of a £2.50 cup of coffee you're prepared to alienate me as a customer? Eventually she reluctantly conceded that it wasn't very warm and agreed to re-make it but by then it was too late. We took the replacement coffee and my wife drank it, then we left. There is no way I would ever go back there.

The decor remains stylish and with plenty of tearoom charm. The food was delicious with lovely attention to detail. The sandwiches are always good but the garnish and little extras it is served with really makes it a bit special. I went for a risotto special on this occasion and that lived up to its billing too! Due to time constraints we had to miss out on the lovely selection of cakes on this occasion but we'll be back.

We cycled through Berkley on our bikes and stooped here. we're very impressed with the staff, the value was great, the food beyond expectations and service very attentive. If we are down near Gloucester again we would definitely re-visit.

If you are in the area, MAKE SURE you give this little treasure visit! We enjoyed a delicious breakfast - porridge (cooked perfectly), scrambled eggs (light, fluffy and savoury) and toast with strawberry jam! The tea was loose leaf in a delightful pot (one of which I shall be buying for myself!). This tea shop is just off the High Street through a small entrance which is well signposted. The decor was bright, modern (with a twist) and a joy to sit in. It was also extremely clean. We bought two cakes for the trip home - they were wonderful! Just go and find out for yourself!

We stumbled across this when wandering around Berkeley before heading to the castle. It was 11.30am and my husband is not a fan of breakfast food, but fortunately they serve lunch from 11.30am so no problem. We had a gorgeous Antipasti platter - complete with 4 different meats, some different salads and coleslaw, and huge chunks of nutty brown bread. Also served with olives, oils and feta stuffed peppers. Really fresh and tasty.Tea was "proper" leaves served in a pot, and the soft drinks were all good.Would definitely recommend - had a great cake display we wanted to try but were too full!

We had a great lunch here (again) and ordered some take-away sandwiches for our train trip the next day. Both were brilliant and the staff couldn't have been more helpful.

I'm sorry to say, that after reading great reviews and having high expectations of what to expect....the experience was a huge disappointment. 6 of us booked in for Sunday dinner at 2pm,which started well,to be honest....as we were given a choice of the main room or a table set up for 6,in a separate room. We opted for the separate room and took our seats accordingly. After awhile a man came through to take our drinks order and I went 1st....."a o% Guinness please" sorry we don't have that "but I do at my other pub" OK then "could I have an elderflower please" ...."sorry we don't have that" again was the reply OK...."could I have a lime & soda please"....."sorry can't do that due to the trigger on the mixer not working" was the reply. OK...."could I have a lager shandy please"....."sorry can't do that either came the now familiar reply! By this time,it was getting embarrassing in front of the other's waiting to order their drinks and exacerbated,on the point of dehydration....I ordered a tap water.....which along with a gin & flat tonic didn't have ice in. Then.....dinner arrived. I had ordered the 3 meat roast, pork, beef & chicken (£23.50) and my expectations were high....well sadly it wasn't to be. The 3 meat roast consisted of a slice of pork,a slice of beef and a chicken leg plonked on the top...how bizarre! The meal itself was only warm and not piping hot as I would have expected.....after the drinks fiasco,I didn't feel able to complain without drawing attention myself in front of the other members of our party at the table. Finally....the bill came and as well as charging us for £2 for a lime & soda which I couldn't have, an £18 plus service charge had been added to the bill. That was the final insult.....£18 service charge for what exactly?? No drinks of choice and a luke warm meal. I wanted to dispute the service charge but again....I didn't want to draw attention to myself and possibly put my other party members in an embarrassing situation. I would like it refunded to be honest, as another issue I encountered while there....no soap in the soap dispenser despite visiting the toilet at the start of our meal and then again an hour or so later after the meal. I'm sorry, but I wouldn't eat there again or recommend to others to do so either......maybe it was "just a bad day at the office" for the pub on the day of our visit, but then the service shouldn't have been added automatically,if all of the above had been taken in to consideration.

Last time visited “ small Americana “ was 1.95. Then 2.10. Today……2.60. No reason despite costs…..to elevate to this price… There are unfortunately not a lot of “ good coffee shops in Dursley” could do with “Costa” or Coffee1 “ Wake up call……for these stupid prices…..if you want to “ stay open” I’d review all your prices/ ….or you soon will be “ gone” No one wants to fell “ conned” last visit for me!!

Stayed at the Frocester George and ate in the dining room whilst walking the Cotswolds way. My room was lovely- room 12, relatively recently done I think with everything you could want. Spacious room, organic tea and coffee, small fridge with fresh milk in it (yay!!!!) lovely bathroom. The meal was delicious, and the breakfast great, including a wonderful selection of fresh fruit. Would happily return for another stay if I am in the area.
