Bens plaice in Plymouth

Not sure but I think they’ve changed their name. Hot 20 mins ago a large code with chips. Code was fine but the chips were uneatable. So hard so so crunky

Disappointing visit today: Service took 60 minutes from order to arriving on the table. No warning before of wait times. No apology when finally food was delivered. Can only assume its considered ok to keep customers waiting so long or the owner/manager isn’t aware or doesn’t care. Price £15 crab baguette, £19 salmon kebab, £5 chips, £7.50 apple pie, £6 Bottle of legend ale, £4.50 bottle of ginger beer, £6.50 2 coffees. Two people eating, total paid £73.

Very sad to write this review but we first started going to the Woodside September 2024. Nothing was too much owners really accommodating were very insistent they are a family pub where children and pets are welcome. My daughter has autism and ADHD and that never seemed to be problem. We always do our best to be respectful and always clean up after ourselves etc. we found they became more popular recently and we’ve suddenly been pushed out by all new complaints coming in. At first we were told that our dog was in the way so we stopped bringing the dog then we went in the following week then We’ve been asked to go to the back as the kids were in the way of the door… fair enough and we’ve complied every time. Tonight we decided to go and we’ve now been told kids are not allowed in after 5pm they couldn’t even come and tell us themselves. This previously hasn’t been a issue never been a problem and I wanted to point out your either child friendly or not… the owner was excited to show me they fitted a changing table in the bathroom to accommodate us a month ago… seems their priorities have changed and has now lost our custom. We are very upset.

Midweek visit, pub busy with students. But still worth a visit.

Food was amazing.. great place to spend time with family . The outside area is lovely .. will definitely be back coming back soon xx
