Benjarong Thai Cuisine in Gloucester

We booked a table and had a meal at this restaurant. The food was well presented and the service was good. My beef massaman curry was not as I expected, as brisket beef was used. The coconut rice and special mixed starters were very tasty. We also ordered the lamb shank which was well cooked and tender. This is a family run restaurant who aims to provide good quality food at reasonable prices.

We don't live locally so only our second visit. A very good Thai restaurant with the freshness, heat and spiciness you get in Thailand. The corn starters were very well spiced and tasty. Main courses of a curry and a stir fry also good with the white pepper really coming through in the stir fry. Atmosphere and music were good, staff very welcoming and friendly. So sad that these guys are still in the middle of a building site and will be for some time by the looks of things. Our only niggles, the same as last time, please source Thai holy basil for the stir fries and the rice was a bit stodgy for us. Definitely worth going out of your way to find this restaurant and please ignore the building works. I hope GCC is giving them a rate reduction!

Excellent takeaway delivery . We have had quite a few home deliveries now and the food is always very good and the delivery service very prompt and friendly. I love their soft shelled crab and my vegetarian daughter loves their tofu curry.

We have beed for lunch before and enjoyed it so much we went back tonight for my husband's birthday. Firstly the welcome and attention from the staff is the best even opening the door for you as you leave. The food was amazing. We had the sharing starters which was a bit of everything. My husband had the sweet and sour sea base which looked amazing and tasted so good. I had the sweet and sour chicken and we had the pak choice. They then brought banana fritters and coconut ice cream with a candle in and sang happy birthday to him. This restaurant is a little gem. Set away from everything but well worth a visit. Also so many people coming in for take away. It's a must to try. Hope you stay there for many years to come. Will definitely be back. Thank you all for a pleasant evening with good food.

Tucked out of the way in the middle of a building site! Worth seeking out! First time here and not disappointed. The service was excellent and the atmosphere very good. All of the food was fresh and well cooked. The stir-fries were nice and spicy. We had a chicken and a beef and both were very good. A couple of tweaks and it would have been 5 stars. The stir-fry had used ordinary basil and not Thai holy basil which took away from the flavour a bit and the rice was very stodgy. Apart from that it was really good and we will be back.

Dont be put off by the regeneration works going on outside - this place is a little gem of a restaurant. The staff couldnt have been more welcoming and paid just the right amount of attention to our needs without being intrusive. The menu is pretty big so its hard to choose but honestly, we couldnt fault with a single dish we had (we were going to have a light supper but it turned into 3 courses) The seabass was massive, but so good I just had to finish it! 10/10 to the chef.

So glad we chose to eat here before a match at Kingsholm. The welcome was warm and friendly. The food was delicious....and very reasonably priced. We had the mixed starters to share, beef salad, weeping tiger sizzling beef, and Pak choi with garlic and oyster sauce. Everything was excellently cooked and full of flavour. Highly recommend this place and Will definitely come again if back this way.

Visited Gloucester with my wife to visit family We have found a gem Service …..Excellent Food……clean crisp Thai food very well cooked fantastic ingredients Priced as you would expect for great food I went off piste and asked for a Tamarind Duck My wife had Sea Bass The staff where happy to oblige with my change and the result was perfection. I went here on a Saturday evening with my boyfriend for a meal. The staff were lovely and really welcoming on arrival. The restaurant was fully booked which made for a great atmosphere. My boyfriend had soup for starters and a massaman curry with jasmine rice, I had duck spring rolls and panang curry with coconut rice. We were able to request our dishes hotter which they did with no issues what so ever. The food was wonderful. I couldn’t eat it all but they were happy to let us take it home with us and it was just as good the following day. My boyfriend has spent a lot of time in Thailand so is a tough critic and he was completely won over by it all. Everything was so at ease and the vibe was really good. In fact a gentleman got stuck in the toilet, which surprisingly added to the atmosphere. The staff worked hard to get him out and everyone in the restaurant cheered when he got out. Whilst I can’t imagine this “entertainment” happens all the time, it’s still 100% worth a trip there you will not regret it. Apologies for the picture as neither of us pigs could wait.

My husband and I have just been to try the set lunch menu. For £10.95 it was amazing. Beautifully presented with the taste of Asia. The staff were very friendly . The portion size was more than adequate for lunchtime. We also had the banana fritters in panko bread crumbs with honey coconut ice cream and cream. To die for. We will definitely be going back to try the extensive evening menu. A fairly new family business that deserves support. Well worth a visit.

A fantastic meal and experience. Six of us had a different mixture of starters and main courses and every single dish was excellent. Service was perfect and very reasonably priced. Our first visit definitely not the last.

We popped up here for lunch after visiting our family at The Gloucester Royal Hospital nearby. It was very nice and quiet on Thursday at 12.00... We ordered from their reasonably priced Express Lunch Menu , Chicken Ginger Stir Fry with rice and Spicy Beef Stir Fry Noodles. They both came with a Veg Spring Roll and a Sesame Toast. It was 26.80 £ with 2 cans of coke. I must say it is one of the best Thai restaurants in the UK. Authentic Thai food, top notch hospitality, cozy atmosphere, nice decor and spotlessly clean restroom. Wish we had a chance to try their dinner tho. Will be definitely coming back again. Highly recommended 😍

We can safely say this is the best Thai food we’ve ever had outside Thailand. Friendly welcome, attentive service, and simply amazing tastes. I can’t single out a particular dish or dishes as everything we had was awesome.
