the waiters were very sassy and did not treat us well ,i would also like to mention they assumed we were going to pay the 8 pound service charge, when we told them our friend has a chocolate allergy they took the MICK out of her belittling her and saying as i quote ‘there’s no chocolate in pasta and pizza you dumb teenage’

We had a lovely meal here with all the family, service was spot on for a large group. Small restaurant, but big enough to cope with our 14 person group and the other customers. We wasn't on top of each other. Which was nice. The food was nice, albeit small portions for the price. But nonetheless we had a fantastic time. So in all a 9/10 for service and atmosphere. 7/10 for food portion size against price. 9/10 for food quality and taste. Hope this helps. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Poor ! Very poor, spent £240 in there last night (Saturday 9/3/24) the food was just awful, lasagne was just that, in a bowl on a plate, no salad no nothing £16, pizza’s were expensive greasy rubbish, I’ve seen better from the basic range in a supermarket, and as for a side order of chips, absolute joke, honestly do not waste money in these places, staff were great, only gave it 1 star as there is no zero star rating, they wonder why hospitality is in decline, just not value for money at all, 9 guests so roughly £25 each, Very Poor ! Do not waste your money in Bella Italia 😢

I have been to bella italia a few times but this was my first time in Cambridge, by far the best experience I’ve had, food was great and the lady who served me and my partner was so friendly and upbeat, made my experience that little bit extra lovely, I believe her name was Pip, so great food and great service deffo will be back!

i like to say the staff we saw on tuesday 27th feb 24 ,night were helpful as my wife is blind and they went to help her to the table and helped her with the menu. I was very pleased of restaurant we went to every thing on this list would be between 9 and 10 stars. would you like to say we were very happy and we will go again.

Not a very good restaurant. Some plates are good, other no. In any case far away from real italian food. The service is so and so: the ladies are kind but in a birthday they didn' t help us cutting the cake, needed to ask for the dishes, candle not fixed well on the cake. After we put the cake in the box by ourself. When the bday girls arw eating the cake, they asked us to pay the bill and started to clean the table when we are still sitting around it. Never put in a hurry the customers. It was around 9.20. At the end, the most important thing: a guest that required a gluten free pizza, after ate it, had strong stomach pain and felt unwell. Be aware.

Shaunah served us and she greeted us with a smile and was lovely throughout the experience! she made sure everything was okay throughout and always came over with a smile. and the carbonara was the best we have ever tasted!!

Lovely meal on a rainy Saturday afternoon. We were seated at the back near the toilets. Friendly staff, attentive but not intrusive. We had seafood risotto and meat feast pizza. Good food served freshly made. With a bottle of wine and starters it was a very reasonable priced meal.

Just been here for my birthday meal, the worst pizza I've ever seen and tasted. When it arrived at my table it was immediately sent back (I've never sent food back before in a restaurant) it had next to no sauce or cheese on it, and was burnt! Waitress was really nice and said she'd replaced it, which she did. Second one came out, equally discussing. Didn't send this one back as everyone else had nearly finished their meal. Wish I'd taken a photo to put on here. Vile!

Worst experience ever. We arrived around 8:00pm and more than half of the seats were empty. They told us that they will have some bookings later and the kitchen will be busy, so they basically ask us to leave.

We arrived to the restaurant around 8pm. Half of the place was empty. After standing in front of the “wait here” sign and staring at the staff for 5 minutes, the manager approached us and asked to leave unless we have a booking, because the staff will be busy later.

Loved eating here with all my friends on Wednesday! Gave the waiters some well deserved tips, they were amazing and we had no problems at all. Lovely selection of food too, this is a great place to eat.

Booked a large table as a suprise for my daughter and her friends. I struggled to contact branch by telephone to confirm so emailed. The service delivered by Lewis the manager was the best I’ve had in a very long time. He emailed back and gave his mobile number. Nothing was too much fuss for him and when I dropped in a cake he was so friendly. I will definitely be back. Well done Bella Italia on securing an efficient manager!

Surprisingly quiet when we visited on a bank holiday Monday lunchtime. Good food and service, really liked the pollo funghi pasta.

Excellent service as always - came for lunch when it was not too crowded. Food is middle of the road as you would expect, but reasonable portions and very full of flavour. We were looked after by Mustafa - he went out of his way to ensure we were enjoying ourselves. Ice cream is very creamy, would definitely recommend.

The place look and felt understaffed. Food was decant and didn't take to long. They also had the heating on to high.

The worst experience I’ve ever had at any restaurant in my life. The service was absolutely awful, waited at least 15 minutes before we were asked about drinks and about another 15 minutes before they were then served. (Our drinks ended up coming at the same time as our main). When our drinks came we were served the wrong thing. Waitress asked if we wanted dessert then never came back to us for 20 minutes or more (then still hadn’t bought out menus). An hour had gone by and we had only had 1 course and still hadn’t ordered dessert. By this point the restaurant was nearly empty which made the poor service even more shocking and inexcusable. The portion size of our mains was particularly small. The staff were incredibly unprofessional spending the majority of the time chatting to each other and doing things like deeply inspecting each others mouths/teeth in the middle of the restaurant. The bill was handed to us the second we finished our desserts and without being asked which is very poor etiquette. On top of all this, we received an email telling us our reservation was cancelled when it actually hadn’t been and the vibes / decoration of the place is awful, nothing like the romantic setting of an Italian restaurant that you would expect and that I have seen in other Bella Italias. Never left a review before but felt compelled to as this experience was so incredibly bad. We made a lot of effort to make it to this meal which was also a birthday celebration and it was such a waste of time and effort.
