Indian Palace in Cambridge

The food was absolutely horrible. I have had one of the worst food poisoning episodes of my life, feeling sick for a whole week. The food (Chicken Tikka Masala) was also extremely sweet and just a little bit spicy, where the Sheek kebabs were dreadful.

The sadhya served today to celebrate the Kerala festival of Onam, for a fixed price of £20 per person, was an absolute delight! Every item tasted authentic, and the meal was served in traditional style on banana leaves. The service was excellent, and my wife and I had a very enjoyable meal. Thank you, Indian Palace at Cherry Hinton, Cambridge.

We visited this hotel for first time.service and ambience is good. But the Food is very very Bad.Indian Porotta was the only good thing tastes better.Their is no spicy foods and not much tasty too.Actualy Chicken tika is spicy but its sweet. And They said nadan chicken curry is spicy nd it Taste's like without adding sweet. Just a Curry🙄.These type of Foods can be served to Britishers. South & North indian foods are spicy nd tasty. The Name of the hotel is not Apt for the Food.

Food was okay But served cold Chivken lamb southidian style but not spicy it tastes sweet due to too much onion If sitting outside then pleasant.

Easily the best Indian food in Cam and one of the best restaurants to eat in the city! The staff are very welcoming and nice, and the food is very authentic-tasting and reasonably priced. You can eat food here from all regions of India. 100% recommend to anyone visiting the city!

My food never arrived. Very bad service!

We have just been for a meal at the Indian Palace. It was our first time at an Indian restaurant. The staff were really lovely. I got mixed up with the food and ordered a started as my meal. It was delicious, but we were expecting the extras and my husbands meal. It came and although it looked and tasted lovely. It finally came, but it appears husband doesn't like Indian food and therefore dint eat much. It's a shame because it was delicious to me. I would definitely recommend the Indian palace for those who love Indian food. ❤️

i havent received my order yet. but it says its delivered. and when i call the restaurant directly they disconnect my call.its not acceptable..The food is really good in indian palace, but unfortunately customer management is very pathetic. I am still waiting foe my order.i shouldnt have write this, because i can understand the situations.But picking up the call and then disconnecting is too much

I recently came to this restaurant for a lunch meal and I am happy I came. They provide Nadan food to a high quality and reasonable prices. I was satisfied with the portion prices and the calm atmosphere. My favourite curry was the calamari curry along with the freshly made kerala poratha. Overall, poli sadanam and would reccomend everyone to give here a visit.

This is by far my favourite restaurant in Cambridge. I have been 5+ times. The atmosphere is amazing, the food is delicious and the wait is usually fairly short. My favourite is the chicken dosas as they are always crisp and perfect and the samosas are a perfect starter. Indian Palace will always be my favourite restaurant and I am very impressed with the quality.

One of the best restaurant in Cambridge to experience Indian food…we booked table for 8 and they arranged seating for us …Staff was very friendly and good service.. Parking space was available behind the restaurant.

I recently visited this Restaurant and was thoroughly disappointed by the customer service. From the moment we walked in, the staff made it clear that our presence was more of an inconvenience than anything else. Not a single server managed to give a smile, which I believe is the bare minimum in customer service. Good food can only go so far; without decent service, the entire experience falls flat. I hope the management takes this feedback seriously and makes necessary improvements

This was not our first visit, and much like previously, both the food and service were excellent. Didn't have a very long wait for food once ordered. Great choice of options. Without a doubt, highly recommended.

Food was not what I ordered, when I called the restaurant, I got questioned, I ordered a bhuna, tomato based, it was so hot and spicy I couldn’t eat it, when I called the restaurant, the lady said maybe it’s a different chef, when I said I ordered this regularly, I then proceeded to get a phone call back, telling me I don’t order and I am a new customer, never mind it’s not always my name, but my brother in laws, that was disputed! Honestly avoid this place, food was not what I ordered the customer

Fairly good restaurant. I liked the fish biriyani and chicken tandoori. Kerala Porotta is available, however, I felt like it's made from frozen Porotta available from the shops.

Not recommended. If you are going to have Indian food for the first time, please don’t go here, you will hate the India food forever. I have tried, Chilli Paneer Medu vada Beef roast Chicken jalfrezi Tandoori roti Lime juice And none of them are good. They got some parking space near to the restaurant or you can easily find one nearby. Good service, atmosphere and quiet area.

I have ordered chicken tikka balty and chicken jalfrezi. They have delivered it wrongly. And i asked for water while giving the order. And didn’t got it till I finished my food. One of the worst customer service ever had. Only 2 staff and they are not giving any attention to the tables.

I ordered chicken tikka masala and it tastes nothing like chicken tikka not happy at all

It was a bit of a bummer that they were having a deep clean but there was no notice - so you only got to know of it after you were seated... One consequence was that the lamb in my biryani was a little under cooked though the taste was very good. It wasn't cheap so It would be so so good, if their communication was clearer and they were a bit more careful in the kitchen. Better to tell a customer to change the order rather than serve undercooked lamb. But I want to say again that the taste was very good - I just wished they had been more transparent about my food choice - and I also wish they had half-plate options for single diners. But all in all I would go again :-)

Most of the food that we had was really very good, including the vegetable Madras and the onion bhajis. Value for money is fantastic. The waitress is exceptional, quick and efficient, which we don't always see in pricier restaurants. We aim to come back every week. Highly recommended!

To be honest being from India and have eaten in other Indian restaurants in the UK, this was the worst experience of food. I ordered Chicken Shaslick, thought it will be like juicy chicken however it was very dry and raw. I found difficult to bite it. So I got the plate replaced, however this time the chicken mid cooked but smelled. When I asked the waiter to smell it, he said that there is nothing wrong with the chicken it’s the marination smell and the chicken is from day before’s batch. That clearly states that the food was not freshly cooked and served. Marination can be done in the morning and cooked in the evening which gives a fresh taste. We also ordered Dal Tadka, which was tasteless and me and my partner got Acidity. Nimu Pani- oh it was just tap water mixed with lemon and pinch of salt, almost like warm water. Lemonade- very sweet. We mixed Nimu pani and Lemonade ourselves to balance the taste. We enjoyed Paratha.

We ordered our anniversary dinner from here tonight, delivery was properly on time , food was hot freshly prepared, awesome authentic taste, quality quantity both great, well packed and great. From mixed grill starter to keema rice,lamb biryani and kerala lamb curry everything so delicious. Highly recommended.

Always great food and service here. We have been quite a few times and never had a bad dish. A good range of vegan options. Most dishes are gluten free (except obvious naan and chapati). Dosas are tasty. The side dishes we have tried are great, and do have some spices in, which we love.

In the app it showed delivered, at exactly 7.33 pm, And at 8.14 the delivery partner calls and delivered. The food was cold and which was good for nothing.

Very disappointed with the customer service and behavior of the staff. Extremely rude to the customer and one of the staff was extremely reacted rudely towards the customer and showed the behavior like physical abuse. Food is okay but very disappointed with the staff.

First time getting take away from here!! NEVER EVER AGAIN!!! I asked for King Prawn tikka masala! Not even on menu! Polish woman on reception didn’t even know what that was, and told us to look at the menu. There was no sauce to that description.! Then she said, is it the sweet red sauce yes, I said! So we went with that! My partner had chicken tikka masala that wasn’t on the menu either, we then ordered Nan breads, peshwari and kema , and onion bhaji ! Well when we got home plate up!! We looked at it in disbelief! The source was like water the taste was OK! Came in tiny plastic tubs! The prawns tasted artificial and frozen, obviously very cheap prawns, My partners chicken was tasteless, The nan breads had no fillings , and the onion barges tasted like cheap frozen ones !! Absolutely awful!!!! 🤮🤮🤮 I wish I had taken photos !! 🙈🙈🙈 Go

They charge for delivery and don't even bring it to the door..dont be fooled by their low prices the portion size they give are very low. You have to search for the chicken in the gravy. Please don't order from here.

I had a bad experience from the staff as they insulted me while i went a couple of months ago. I guess a polish women who is in the reception. When i spoke to my friends they had the same experience from the same staff. So seriously I am not recommending this place to any indians because when i complained this to the owner i am shocked because she insulted me only but he mentioned to me that he is not welcoming Indians to his restaurant why because indians coming for spend more time and having little food. I feel ashamed because he put the restaurant name as india palace then he was talking badly about us.

Lovely neat spacious restaurant. Very good food. The recommendations was so on spot. Loved the masala dosa and paneer ul theyili, the naans were really good and closest to indian naan. Matka kulfi was perfect, not too sweet and loved pistachio flavour. We were table of 6. Service was quick and attentive. Thank you.

If you are looking for vegetarian Indian food then you must visit here.. we ordered kadhai paneer , garlic naan and vegetable biryani and they were delicious. The staff is also kind and polite.

One of the best curries I have ever had. We had a Saturday night takeout and ordered a Naadan Chicken Curry, Kerala Lamb curry and Thadka Dal. All three dishes were really well spiced with great depth and consistency. The chicken and lamb were very tender and delicious. Overall, an outstanding takeaway tonight and we will be back. Have previously been and had Dosas here which I would also recommend if you are sitting in.

Buffet not available now, but you can try ala carte. The starters were not good but the main course(Biriyani, Garlic Naan, Chicken gravy) was good.

Very authentic taste and overall a nice vibe, definitely coming back for more! I love chicken biryani and have tried it from ~10 different places in Cambridge, The Indian palace is so far my favorite :) This particular instance, I had the Masala dosa which also exceeded my expectations.

Really good food, the fried rice was really nice not dry at all, really good protons. Although I did find the lamb stew a bit too rich but my husband loved it. Would definitely order again

An average place for south indian food. Went as we wanted authentic kerala style porotta and beef, however, the beef roast was not cooked to the authentic style with coconut pieces and curry leaves, but instead was made with onions and green peppers. Porotta was okay 3/5. We also tried the chemeen curry, which was good 4/5. We tried for starters - fish 65, chicken pakoda and chilli panner. Fish 65 was crispy on the outside and was seasoned well. Chicken pakoda was a disappointment, didnt feel fresh and the meat was chewy. The chilli panner was disappointing too as the panner pieces were not crispy on the outside and the gravy tasted too much of ketchup.

Our main meal was fabulous. We ordered a bottle of white wine which they just put on the table, warm and unopened for us to help ourselves 🤣 but the food outweighed this. Well worth a visit.

Fantastic food, some of the best we've had.

Had two corse dinner on a Thursday night,. Reasturant is light and welcoming with a slash of decor that stets a relaxed dining experience. starter chicken Pakora I wouldn’t recommend this it was over cooked and dry, also served with a pot of tomato sauce poor effort. Main meal was a chicken tikka balti, while not the traditional Balt were used to in Birmingham this dish was good with a well balanced flavour I would recommend this dish. The naan’s were very good I only had the plain one but it was fresh and cooked to perfection, very good accompaniment to the dish. Parking can be an issue not the restaurants fault but worth knowing if your in the car.

Visited with family on Friday night and the food was exceptional! We managed to get a table without booking and the service was also excellent. I had the onion bhajis to start followed by the chicken dupiaza and pilau rice (yes, I like onions) with poppadoms and pickles too. Everything was so delicious, authentic, piping hot and fresh. Thank you for a glorious Indian meal!

A lovely restaurant where it's always the right temperature, impressively decorated, and the employees are impeccably polite. But all of that is overshadowed by how good the food is! I've come here at least monthly for the last 6 months and I have no plans of stopping any time soon. You can't go wrong with the chicken tikka masala, but my personal favorite is the lamb dupiaza.

The food was brilliant and not expensive. Portion size was good and staff were very helpful and patient. Only downside is a lack of parking but there are side streets nearby.
