Beity in Southampton

This looked like a great restaurant with a fabulous menu, however, extremely disappointing! Just one staff member running the bar and service which was incredibly slow. The starters were good and nice portion sizes, I had the chicken livers. Main portion sizes were small, I had the mixed shawarma, the bread is thin and tastes of nothing with a powdery, dry texture. £18 wasted! The mixed grill was equally a small portion, the lamb was over cooked and dry and not worth the £22, It was a Monday night and only 11 customers, I wonder how they cope when and if full. Sadly, I won’t be returning. Grilled meats is not difficult to get right? Sorry!

The traditional food with lamb and aubergine was food but it was lacking the true traditional taste I felt.

Wow! We loved the food here, in particular the Hoummos, lamb and chicken kebabs. We will definitely go back soon. Hopefully they will be doing some Christmas parties.

As soon as I walked in I was very happy with the atmosphere, I felt transported to a different culture and immersed myself in it. The music and vibe of the restaurant was lovely and our server, Faruk, was also very sweet and friendly. Their food was great but I loved their dips especially, never been so obsessed with dips before but it made everything better. I would absolutely recommend coming to this restaurant to enjoy a lovely time and great food!

Thanks to the recommendation of my Lebanese friends, I had a pretty bad experience at Beity. On their Facebook page, I saw an offer which stated "35% off your bill after 8 PM." This amazing deal made me want to go even more. The starters were actually good; the hummus was smooth and very tasty. The mixed grill, however, was mediocre. Although the chicken was super delicious, the shawarma was, in my opinion, not edible. It had a weird smell and tasted off. On top of this below-average food, I had a problem while paying the bill. As you may recall, the deal stated 35% off, but just before paying, I realized that they had not applied the discount. Of course, this is completely normal people can forget things. However, when I asked for the discount, the waiter said he needed to talk to his boss. I can understand that, but when he came back, only half of the bill was discounted. When I inquired, they stated that soft drinks were not included. I showed them the post, which literally says that to be eligible for the deal, you need to order a main, side, and soft drinks. Therefore, it makes no sense that the deal does not apply to soft drinks. Overall, it's not worth visiting. Save your time and money.

Lovely Lebanese Halal Food just in old town of Southampton. Easy to find and the people working there are nice and gave us a warm welcome. Farouk was taking care of us, and he was great!

A beautiful place to have a special lunch/dinner. Faruk was lovely and made us feel very welcome. I would recommend this place if you’re looking for authentic Lebanese food.

Bahab was a fantastic host and the food was exceptional! Enjoyed every bite, felt like I was on Edgware Road in London! Top quality stuff, will definitely be back. Even got a pc of Baklawa with the bill! Very kind of them Thanks bahab

My husband and I went here for dinner on the first night of our honeymoon. Excellent food! We ordered the hummus with chicken for a starter. Then chicken shawarma and chicken kebobs with rice. *chefs kiss! Highly recommend. Our server was even so kind as to give us the baklava dish as a courtesy and it was an excellent was to end the meal.

Fuimos el Viernes Santo, temprano por la noche. El restaurante estaba bastante vacío. Me encanta la comida de Oriente Medio y normalmente es muy sabrosa y llena de especias y hierbas e ingredientes frescos. Los platos que salieron aquí eran muy sosos y no sabían mucho, así que me decepcionó un poco. Tuvimos humus para empezar, que en realidad era bastante sabroso. Luego tenía a) Lahem Meshwe (dos pinchos de cubos de cordero tiernos adobados con hierbas y especias, carbón a la parrilla) a £ 18. 95 y be) Parrilla Mixta (tres pinchos de Kafta, Shish Taouk y Lahem Meshwe, carbón a la parrilla) a £ 22. 50 como platos fuertes. Estos pinchos venían con "arroz libanés", que en realidad era solo arroz blanco que no sabía mucho, y un poco de guarnición de ensalada. Los cubos de carne en realidad sabía bastante bien y en general fue relativamente satisfactorio, solo un poco soso y seco y simplemente no es lo que espero de la "cocina" de Oriente Medio. El menú era generalmente bastante limitado, y estábamos buscando ensaladas o guarniciones similares, pero no había ninguna. En el lado positivo, el vino de la casa libanesa (tinto) era súper delicioso. No estoy seguro si vendría aquí de nuevo por los precios que cobran.

Worst Lebanese food I have ever had. Not recommended.

Este lugar es fabuloso. El servicio de atención al cliente a la hora de reservar para una gran fiesta ( 24 ) fue muy sensible. El personal era cortés y acogedor, incluso ofreciendo catadores a personas que no habían pedido muchos platos. Disfruté mucho de mi cena de cumpleaños rodeado de familia que (algunos nunca han comido libanés) no podía dejar de hablar de la variedad de calidad y cantidad de la comida. Gracias a todos por hacer nuestra noche memorable.

Food was authentic, would be happy to recommend... little disappointed some items on the menu were unavailable or order... we also didn’t get our bread basket and they missed to bring our drink... had to point this out as we settled the bill where we were charged for it... otherwise friendly staff.

The lady called Julia who served us was a dream - she advised us what was good, told us her opinion, gave us a selection of dips, breads and dessert which were all delicious and her customer service was exceptional. Food is 10/10! Place to go.

I went to Beity with a group of friends a couple of weeks ago for a friend's 70th birthday. The food was excellent (as always😋), the staff were attentive and the atmosphere was very comfortable. I've been there a few times over the past couple of years and it never disappoints, so go if you haven't already. It's also a great choice if you're a vegetarian (there were lots of options) or if you don't like really spicy/hot food.

Me and my husband went to Beity expecting a relaxing meal, at first the starters were brilliant and while we were waiting for our mains, A very heated and aggressive argument broke out between our waiter and who we assumed must have been the boss This boss also proceeded to vault a chair which just completely startled me and to be frank made us feel uncomfortable and tense and this just completely ruined the entire atmosphere and you could even tell how this affected the staff and made them quite tense which just didn’t make the service as welcoming as we were hoping and expected

Absolutely Exceptional Lebanese Cuisine! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Beity restaurant has a warm and inviting atmosphere. But the real star was the cuisine. Every dish we ordered was a delightful surprise of authentic Lebanese flavours, each plate was beautifully presented, from the perfectly grilled meats to the flavourful mezze and the fragrant rice dishes, everything was cooked to perfection. This is hands down the best Lebanese food I've had in Southampton. If you're looking for a truly delicious and memorable dining experience, look no further than Beity. We can't wait to return!

Lovely restaurant and very friendly staff

Booked an early dinner (5:30pm) for a special occasion. Service was awful, apparently due to staff shortages. There was a special event at 7 (live music and dancing) so I think the staff were focussing on prep for that. Below average food. Was really hoping for much more given other reviews.

We have been here a few times and usually have a good experience and food is decent but recently went with my mum and some aunts to break our fast and we waited over 40 mins for our food to come. Someone cane over to let us know it will be another 10 mins and we let them know that we had already been waiting 40 mins. He proceeded to shout and say this is the way my restaurant is run and if you dont like it to leave. We asked him to calm down and he erupted into anger. We got up to leave immediately and he was still shouting saying yeah go on and leave, yeah leave. Very disappointed as we have come here a few times and never had this experience before it was very rude and degrading. Very upsetting that we couldn’t even open our fast properly. I have every right to state how my family members were treated and affected by your aggressive and nasty behaviour. I wrote how i had previously come and had no issues but this took the biscuit you had no right to treat my family members like that. And as for the outside food it was homemade food that had been leaking in my aunts bag so they put on the table. No one was acting entitled or as if they deserve the food more, they had fasted for 13 hours and were able to wait longer they simply pointed it out and asked for an update and you decided to bellow at them and then make them so uncomfortable they had to leave. A waiter did come by to tell them to remove it and when they explained he understood and walked away. Please don’t think you can intimidate us for speaking up. Please note my family has a lot of experience in the hospitality industry even owning a restaurant ourselves they know more than anyone how rushed it can be and they only wanted to know how long. You are a rude and despicable person.

The food was outstanding! I tried mixed grill, and it was absolutely delicious—flavorful, fresh, and perfectly cooked. The presentation was also beautiful. The restaurant has a great atmosphere, perfect for both casual dining and special occasions. Prices are reasonable for the quality of food and service. We went this evening, hoping to have a relaxed, welcoming dining and to open our fast. Unfortunately, it was a disaster. One of my friend had bought a food item for another friend which had leaked in her bag so we put it on our table so it wouldn’t leak any further. We ordered ample dishes but the waiter and the owner kept insisting that we had bought food with us despite reiterating several times that it was a container leaking so has been placed on the table. After waiting for nearly 40 minutes the food arrived but instead of getting an apology for the delay, we got shouted at for not being patient. The owner shouted at us to leave which was very uncomfortable and embarrassing for all of us. He also made a comment that you are not the only ones in the restaurant, so you should wait!!! Perhaps he needs to invest in more staff and attend a course on manners and customer service. It left a really unpleasant feeling for the whole evening and all of us are rather horrified of how we got treated! Would he have had the same approving we were 3 men!!!! His behaviour was threatening and abusive!!!!!!

After 3 weeks of keeping fasts and helping the family keep fasts 3 friends finally managed to make plans and go out for an evening Iftar meal….. Absolutely disgusted with the manners of the restaurant staff and owner…. Sat 37mins waiting for our food, the owner looked at me staring at kitchen area …. And shouted your order will take 25mins - to which I clarified very politely that it’s been 37mins I was then screamed down at and told that I am not the only one sat at the restaurant and that there are other others being served - not sure what that’s got anything to do with me? - and I was told to get out of the restaurant Everything said above is word for word exac what happened men serving and running that restaurant No manners, appalling behaviour, extremely arrogant attitude and no fear of God Astaghferullah

Terrible experience. Wouldn’t recommend !! Had a really bad experience here. My family and I went to open our fast, and we ended up waiting over 40 minutes for our food. When we asked how much longer it would take, the manager got rude and actually shouted at us!! Can you believe the unprofessionalism! Instead of apologising or giving us an update, they acted like we were the problem. After fasting all day, the last thing you want is terrible service and disrespect. Definitely not coming back, and I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. Seriously sort it out can’t be treating your customers like this !!

Absolutely shocking experience, I am horrified at the ordeal my family went through. To be shouted at by the owner for simply asking where my food is, is completely out of order. Do yourself a favour and eat somewhere else.

We had a very bad experience we ordered food and we only asked that we place an order 37 min ago and the owner started shouting at us that you are not the only customers in the restaurant etc and then when I said ok calm down he came back shouting at our faces "Don't tell me what to do in my restaurant you can leave now etc " we were absolutely in shock and didn't know what to do after few sec we started to get our things and got ready to leave the owner came back again and said again" yes leave" and showed us the door Very bad and rude owner especially when we were opening our fast and we didn't even said anything wrong May Allah take our side and help us and teach that arrogant person a lesson Ameen Allahumaeen

Don’t waste your time the owner is so disrespectful and rude. My family went to open their fast and as they waited a long time, they just asked and wondered where the food is and the owner just started shouting “this is my restaurant” and went so close to my Muslim mums face rudely speaking to her to tell her to leave. The owner needs to humble himself to his basic restaurant and was very lucky none of the men of our family went

Beity was an okay experience for me. The food was standard but did lack some flavour and was slightly overcooked. The food lacked oomph and presentation was not the best. The staff were friendly and the atmosphere was okay. I personally would not be going back here but it was overall an okay experience

Came from Winchester, staff were very friendly. Manager and the waitress went above and beyond during our visit. As it was Ramadan he even was kind enough to give us dates and offered complimentary drinks.

I was looking for something different on a sunday evening. I haven't had lebenese food in a very long time, so i came across beity restaurant down the high street. I had the kallaj (hallumi and tyme bread) and shawarma tajin (sliced lamb with onions in a yogurt sauce) both were very good. It was ramadan and the owner offered me tea and some stuffed dates before i left. He was very nice and even sang a little to the music while he was doing his work. In all the experience was very nice and i would love to try some more items on a future trip.

We came for the Yemeni Kabsa and it was delicious as always, we tried the mixed grill platter again something that we would want to try again. If you are in Southampton please do visit for good Yemeni dining experience

I’ve been looking to try this restaurant for a while but didn’t have the chance until now. The food is 100% authentic Lebanese, and I specifically enjoyed the hummus and shish mixed grill. The atmosphere was pleasant, with Arabic and Lebanese popular music at a comfortable volume in the background. The service was impeccable (special shout-out to Bahaa). As a student, my only remark is that the prices are not that affordable to me, although they do offer discounts on certain reservations which was an oversight on my part.

We had a wonderful dinner at Beity Restaurant during Valentine's weekend! The restaurant was beautifully decorated, and the staff were very friendly, taking time to explain their menu. The food was fantastic, especially the Kafta Khoshkhash. Highly recommended for a memorable dining experience in Southampton.

I so wanted to have a great evening here with the hubby. Unfortunately the only thing we could speak highly of was the starters 😕 the restaurant was freezing cold and I struggled with my coat off. It was a very quiet night for diners. It took ages to be served and the drinks came after we had started eating - a bottle of water and a pot of hot lemon water. There were multiple visits from delivery companies collecting orders which were more important than the seated guests. We asked for the rest of our food to go as it was too cold to sit in and when we got home we were so excited to eat it in a warm house, but the meat was pretty poor. The rice was nice but for £70 (2 x set menu dishes), it was very expensive and we wouldn't usually comment on the price, but it wasn't really worth it. Unfortunately too, the server lady (who was lovely), had a perspiration concern and this too was off-putting. We thought we would return based on the quality of the starters, but the rest of it let us down 😞.

Absolutely lovely meal! Incredibly tasty! The service was fantastic and knowledgeable! We ordered the spicy lamb sausage stew, hummus, feta parcels and tabbouleh to start! Absolutely delicious!!!! Then for mains we had mixed grill kebabs! The meat was tender, juicy and really well seasoned. I can’t wait to go back again.

Amazing lunch today on a cold and grey Friday - the food and friendly hosts brightened up our day! We enjoyed the set meal for two and had to take some home as it was so generous. All of our food was fresh, tasty, flavoursome and moreish. Refreshing mint tea was a great accompaniment. Hamza was a cheerful server. Can’t wait to come back.

I went with 6 colleagues and ordered a set meal for 4, which was top up for 6 people. The quality of the food was excellent, though it wasn’t as flavoursome as I had hoped. However, the service was great, and the final dessert was delicious. The quality of the meat was particularly impressive.

We went for lunch and at first glance it was a little strange, the restaurant was completely empty and smelt weird but we were met by a very nice staff member and she sat us and took our order. Lots of the menu they didn’t have in stock but we still ordered some food and only had to wait around 20 mins for the food Wait staff was really on point and always checked on us and asked if there was any problems. I notice the cleanliness was lacking and there were some dirty tissues and dirt on the floor next to us but it’s not a big deal Food came and it was decent, little bland but overall not the worst In the background there was a lot of shouting from the kitchen and then a staff member was fighting with some random guy?? It was weird but I didn’t mind Overall would recommend for casual dining but not for dates or anything romantic
