Beijing Garden in Brighton and Hove

Was down from South Wales and my mum always raves about this Chinese. The owners are friendly and always look after my mum. Food was ordered at the counter and after some friendly rapport the food came out. Got home and everything was roasting hot and very tasty. Would recommend as all people were happy.

Update to my review, it would have been nice if you placed a temporarily closed marker on google. As a long time customer of your great restaurant, I was disappointed to see that you haven't. Back to the compliments: Always do Just Eat orders here, always perfect, never once had a single problem and they are kind enough to swap the sweet and sour balls - sauce with anything else and other small adjustments, thank you very much for years of great food :)

Avoid. Waited 90 mins for delivery, on a Monday night??? Order consisted of 2 items which were stone cold by the time the food arrived. Rather than do right by the customer, they clearly only send the driver out when there are several orders to deliver. More than happy to take your payment, not willing to deliver hot food on time. Take your hard earned cash and spend it elsewhere!

Food tasted great and was still hot on delivery, driver arrived much earlier than time stated on order, he was polite and expedient in his duties. Would order again.

Very long delivery time - almost 2 hours after ordering. A shame since we’ve been customers for a few years and the food is always nice. Would not recommend.

Wos reheted duck rolls were filled with proses food chips reheated all in 27 pound wos disgusting won't do that again better off making a stearfry at home

Best Chinese I’ve had in my life.

The food was extremely sweet compared to the last time we ordered from here, which was rather upsetting as this is our usual takeout place for Chinese. Also, the sweet and sour chicken balls were very oily and had a fishy taste.

The soup was tasteless, the duck had no sauce and the prawn crackers were old and soft Won’t be using here again

I loved the food when ordered it for the 1st time few week ago, but it was horrible this time, the sour balls were leaking oil, the ribs were overcooked, the squid was very oily and didn't look or taste fresh. Will never order from them again!

Very efficient service. Food always hot and fresh. Have noticed recently that some dishes I order regularly have stronger onion and chilli flavours, I would perhaps ask the restaurant to consider reducing fractionally as they are quite overpowering.

I haven't even considered this place till recently and oh boy, so glad I did. I think this is a real little gem, and to top it all really local to me! Really good quality food, great flavours and comes in round paper/card containers! I will definitely be back. The only negative is that it's a little on the expensive side. (But all things considered, worth it)

We ordered directly from Beijing Garden on their website, for our delivery to be with us at 19:45. As regular customers, we have never had a problem in the past. At 20:05, when order had not arrived, and after trying to ring 19 times (phone was either off the hook or permanently engaged), we finally got through. We were told the order was still in the kitchen as they had not got any mushrooms for the chicken, but it would be with us within 15 minutes (that it would be delivered at 20:20). After another 30 minutes, and again trying to phone, still permanently engaged, we decided we’d just cancel and cook eggs at home! We still couldn’t get through to cancel. We carried on trying to get through on the Phone, but still permanently engaged. At 20:40 the delivery finally arrived. The driver said that they had been very busy and was late as only had 1 chef. I asked him why I had been told that the delay was due to a lack of mushrooms. He said he was only a driver so couldn’t pass on comments. The food was tepid, so had to reheat it and certainly not up to its usual standard. The sweet and sour sauce was cold and congealed. We tried to eat the food but binned the majority of it. We phoned, again after several attempts , to get through, and raised our complaint. Basically, after lots of shouting in Chinese in the background, we were told that, as we had eaten some of the food we couldn’t have a refund. Although they would give us 50% off our next order. We will not be using Beijing Garden again. We also have several friends who order from there. I think we will all now look for an alternative Chinese who respects their customers and listens to and respects their comments and issues with orders. Such a shame after being loyal customers for several years!

Best Chinese takeaway I have ever had x

Food was lovely, although not very hot. Called the restaurant over 10 times, every time engaged. I ordered at 5.38. Food was due between 6.45 and 7.05. Eventually got Food at 7.41. Asked for a refund and heard nothing! We will see if I hear back?

Probably the best Chinese takeout ever! Tasty and clean tasting food, bags of flavour and great portion sizes.

Had a take away from here acouple of weeks ago. Was all very good quality, good portion sizes. We were pleasantly surprised to see they are now using cardboard boxes to put their food in. Best Chinese in Brighton, always go here 🙌

Lovely food but after placing order changed delivery from 30-40 minutes to 60-90 minutes

Waited almost two hours for my order through deliveroo. Phone off the hook so they can't answer any queries. I ended up driving to the place to be told they didn't have my order. Appalling! Seriously, save your time and order from a better restaurant. Annoyed I couldn't put no stars!

Lovely food! So happy it was early too.

Absolutely delicious with really tasty selections. Only one very slight grumble would be a lack of beansprouts in the chow mein; a common problem I have noticed with other Chinese restaurants/take always. Will order a separate portion of these next time and then it will be perfect. Thoroughly recommend.

We have used Beijing Garden before and have been happy. This time we had a green curry and a red curry. The red curry was OK but the green curry was very ‘wishy-washy’ and watery. The chicken tasted boiled and the sliced chillis made the whole thing far too hot for both of us. There was very little in the way of vegetables, just a couple of beans and loads of onion and something else which we were unable to identify. We might use this restaurant again but would chose something different from the menu!

We’ve had a couple of take-always from here recently - really tasty, and you get free delivery locally plus free veg spring rolls (depending on order total) and free prawn crackers.

The rice was great, delivery was on time. But the Chop Suey was not nice at all... not to my taste, I had to throw it away :(

Ordered not know what to expect and the food is absolutely delicious. The spice and the aromatics in the Thai red curry was very enjoyable. Everything we ordered was really tasty!

Great crispy chilli beef and chicken chow mien. Big king prawn balls with sweet and sour sauce, nice crispy seaweed and very good curry sauce. Second time I have had a delivery and have been impressed both times. Going to be a regular from now on.

Food was tasty and hot as always. Delivery was late but after talking with the lady on the phone, she explained that they were very busy. Totally understandable. Delivery is usually absolutely fine. Just one of those things. Will continue to order from them.

What can I say apart from it's just good food! Had a veggie meal with bean curd szechuan main, spring rolls and egg fried rice. Taste was amazing and service was excellent. Would highly recommend!
