I have been living in Congleton for 4 years now and Bejing City has been in Congleton longer than me. Bejing City is a proud and very well run engine. Never fail to deliver awesome tasty food. Highly recommended.

Being a creature of comfort I'm not fond of change, especially after using the same Chinese takeaway for many years. Yesterday I decided to give Beijing City a try and I can honestly say I wasn't disappointed. Firstly the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, they went out of their way to help me with my order. My mother ordered the Sweet & Sour King Prawn with a side of Sesame prawns on toast. Being a fan of Duck I was recommended the Roast duck & Char Siu which I also had with a side of Sesame prawns on toast and a portion of the Chilli pepper chips. The complete order was absolutely delicious and by far the best Chinese I've had in a long time. The sesame prawn toast was the best I've ever tasted and as for the chilli pepper chips, I just have to have their recipe. I wouldn't hesitate to give 6 stars if it was possible.

The food is beautiful and very fast delivery, I would definitely recommend, the sweet and sour chicken is my favourite and will be returning here again

I always avoided this takeaway because I had heard it was expensive with small portions. I wish I hadn't listened. This is now my favourite takeaway. I've tried a variety of dishes and every single one has been delicious. I cannot fault them.

I was given a one hour wait time which went to two! I couldn’t get through on the phone so had to drive to see where my order was (as it had previously been delivered to the wrong address). Staff told me it was currently being delivered! No apology. No phone call to say it would be an hour late. Don’t bother with this take away!

This was our first time ordering from here and it’s safe to say we really didn’t have a good experience and we won’t be ordering again. I have given the service a 3 as the lady on the phone and the man who delivered were both polite and friendly, lost stars on that because of how long it took to come. Around 1 hour 15 mins. The main issue was the food, hence 1 star. Some parts were nice I can’t lie but the majority was awful: Chips, lovely Spring rolls, lovely Crispy chicken, lovely Unfortunately that is where the compliments end… Prawn toast was overdone Noodles, stodgy and basically a noodle cake by the time it reached us. The worst part was the Chilli and Ginger fried rice, looked nothing like normal Chinese takeaway rice and didn’t taste of ginger. More like soap!! A few mouthfuls of this was enough to make me feel sick and chuck the rest in the bin. We were really looking forward to this meal and excited by the many positive reviews, however, sadly did not live up to expectations.

Me and my boyfriend always get food from here as it’s absolutely beautiful. But tonight I was astounded as the customer service we received was awful after they got our order wrong and said it was our problem. My partner ordered two salt and pepper portions and we only received one and the other plain, the woman in formed us it was our error of ordering when we both full well know we would not of ordered that. We did not receive an apology either . It’s such a shame as it’s such lovely food.

Didn't expect a lot but wow, the waiters were quite friendly and patient. My family was completely satisfied with the quality of the food, so we really had a good time. My English was not that good and they took their time to explain things very patiently. Definitely recommend it 😊😊

I have dietary requirements and I struggle to find a place I can trust however, a few weeks ago we gave them my requirements and a budget and we got an absolute feast that did not make me ill. We ordered again tonight but I didn't make my requirements clear BUT the food I could eat was absolutely delicious. This place takes pride and stunning care with the food that they make. Best Chinese in Congleton. Would definitely recommend! Fantastic food and service. The Deep Fried Crispy Chicken is my favourite. We always order several bags of chilli chips from here as no where in Congleton does them as good.

Was expecting this place to be well nice. First time I've been in there too. Just been refurbished, and I think they need to refurbish their food. Crispy seaweed was sadly the worst I've ever had in my life. Definitely not fresh at all. Looked half dead and was like eating sticks that nearly cut your throat, and it was totally tasteless. Special Chow Mein was very plain and tasteless as well. Yun Tai is much much nicer. Won't be going back here. 👎

I can honestly say I have never been so disappointed with a Chinese takeaway in my life! Myself and my partner had salt and pepper chicken which was extremely dry and my partner had the chicken balls. I’m sure they would have tasted lovely if there hadn’t been so much grease on them! I also had the crispy chilli beef which came and it was black, no vegetables in it. Tried one piece and threw it in the bin. You could also tell that the prawn crackers had been fried in dirty oil! Will not be coming to this takeaway again. The only positive was that the delivery driver was very polite. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!

No sauce whatsoever on the Sweet and Sour Chicken which also left a strange aftertaste. The ribs were literally just a bag of bones with no meat on them whatsoever. Majority of the order went in the bin and we were still hungry. Will not be ordering from here again.

We've been getting takeout from Beijing City for a few years now, and it's become our go to takeaway option. So delicious, and great value for money. As a couple we usually order a starter, 2 mains and 2 sides and we always have enough left overs for lunch the next day. We mainly order veggie options, which they have a great selection of, but the chicken dishes we've tried have also been great. Would recommend.

Having had the pleasure of eating in Beijing and Hong Kong this is soo authentic and all meals are cooked fresh. This was a chance find which turned out to be a jackpot find. This is good, really good ! It was recommended to us by Chinese foodies, friends and colleagues. Authentic and traditional, they said ! Having worked in Hong Kong for over 30 years and eaten at many of the top Michelin-starred Hotels and local eateries over there, I must say, the food at the Beijing City is excellent ! My wife is Cantonese and was born in Hong Kong. When she ordered at the weekend, we were both, pleasantly, surprised by the superb quality of the meal, which was, remarkably, similar to the quality we enjoyed whilst living in Hong Kong. When you have eaten Chinese food, daily, for over thirty years, you instantly know the 'standard' and 'quality' of the establishment with the very first mouthful. It was excellent ! so fresh, so tasty and full of flavour. Chicken tasted like chicken, beef tasted like beef and prawns tasted like prawns. They weren't 'masked' by other strong flavours, as in other places ! The chicken and beef were so tender, the prawns were fresh and the vegetables so crisp. The food tasted freshly cooked and did not have that greasy, 'pre-cooked' taste that you get at other places ! Also, It didn't make you thirsty, which is a good sign that MSG has not been used and the meat weren't dry or chewy like other places that we have used in Congleton. We asked for and were so pleased that Beijing City were able to cook two favourite dishes of ours, which we used to have in Hong Kong, which weren't on the menu, we were so elated. (We have tried asking for the same at other places, only to be faced with 'quizzical' looks from the staff). Being able to cook our 'favourite' dishes proves Beijing City have genuine chefs in their kitchen. They have told us that, as they are from Hong Kong, they can make any dish that we are familiar with, from Hong Kong ! Therefore, next time we have our Chinese friends visit, Beijing City will be taking care of our catering needs ! We have tried all the other takeaways in Congleton, they all taste the same, greasy and full of MSG. Beijing City is superior and, undoubtedly, the best for Cantonese food ! It is ours, our friends and our colleagues' favourite takeaway ! Highly recommended !!!

Probably the worst Chinese food known to man

Ordered over £40 worth of food, quality of food was awful, we called straight away once it got delivered and the staff were in denial, asked for refund and they refused straight away and didn’t let us even speak on the phone. Constantly over talked, Ended up ordering else where in the end! would not recommend

This place was highly recommended by Chinese colleagues and friends of mine, stating that they have used Beijing City for many years, so we decided to give it a try. The shop interior looked very smart and posh. The menu was like a book. We chose my favourite prawn toast, salt &pepper ribs, hot & sour peking soup, fried squid, crispy beef in traditional sauce, seafood chow mein, szechuan chicken, singapore noodles and chicken in rice wine. The portions were very generous. The prawn toast was firm, fresh and delicious. You could actually taste the meaty prawns rather than the off-putting fatty content that you get in other places, the ribs were meaty and succulent and nicely seasoned. The hot and sour peking soup had so much content and was one of the best we've had. The squid was very tasty. My crispy beef was very crispy and you could taste the beef. The king prawns, squid and scallops in my chow mein were gorgeous. The szechuan chicken was hot, spicy and really nice with tender slices of chicken breast. As for the chicken in wine sauce, It tasted so good ! The last time I had this dish was in an expensive restaurant in Hong Kong. The singapore noodles was sensational and certainly tickled the taste buds with the chillies, herbs and spices. We've certainly been converted. It was a wonderful meal. We have been to Hong Kong many times over the past forty years and we can, honestly, say this is one of the best cuisine that we have had ! Highly recommended !

Awful service and worse still, when things had gone wrong all the owners wanted to do was blame staff / drivers. Told to expect a delivery in 45 minutes. An hour later, no food and when called to chase, was told it had left and was on the way. Still no food after another 30 minutes. Called again and told it will get to me. I explained it will be cold if it’s taken that long, so won’t be taking delivery. Eventually went and picked up another takeaway and Beijing weren’t prepared to refund. Will never use them again.

We have had a take away many times over the years from here & really enjoyed it however we were very disappointed on this occasion. We ordered a set meal for 2 & it’s quite a few £ more than other places, so expected great things. The hot & sour soup was extremely over peppered that I couldn’t eat, the ribs were deep fried & solid, mains were very nice, fresh tasting, not greasy at all but as it’s all we had we devoured it & for the 1st time ever had nothing left over, unheard of! No prawn crackers included either. Very disappointing & still hungry, I’m hoping it was a rare one off event as it’s always been so nice.

Had a meal the other week the sauce was missing in the hoisin wraps i called to complain and said i didnt want to wait 20 plus minutes for a replacement for them to say they would replace it next time just called tonight to put an order thru and said they wouldnt have said that last time so wont be ordering again

Very disappointing. I had a "special " Chow Mein, where all meat fish (prawns) and vegetables were positively anemic. The ahem, sauce was devoid of any flavour. The whole meal was expensive and dreadfully poor. It's not the first, as curries shouldn't even be on the menu. I'm sorry as I always try to be positive. But I wasted So much money..

We have enjoyed around 5/6 takeaways per year for over a decade from Beijing City. The front of house staff are always friendly and polite whether we collect or order over the phone. The food is always well cooked and delicious.

I last used this some time ago now. The reason being we used to use this takeaway exclusively and had good food then something changed I noticed a young lad behind the counter not the usual competent girl.The last time we ordered they said it would be forty five minutes it was actually 90minutes and then the order was wrong.We have not used since and will not do so in the future.

My goodness- just had Chicken Fried Rice that was disgusting!!!- undercooked , slimy inedible chicken, threw it straight into the bin !!!! Last time I’ll be ordering from this takeaway- real shame because it used to be really good.

My family and friends have been using this takeaway for a very long time and it is still, undoubtedly, the BEST in Congleton. The staff are so helpful and there are so many dishes on the menu, that you would only see in restaurants in Chinatown and Hong Kong.Visiting family and friends in Congleton, we organised a 'get-together' party for about thirty people, people we have not seen for quite a while. When I asked each person what food they would like to eat, the majority suggested going for a 'Chinese'. So for such a large party, My parents and I went to see the Manager of the Beijing City and asked her what she could do for us. She went through the menu with us and asked what we would like. My Father wanted to order his favourite ' Duck with Prawn-Stuffing' and my mother ordered the 'Barbecued Pork with Honey-Glaze' . I suggested that we have a selection of starters and main meals, enough for about thirty people, to be delivered on 7.30pm on friday evening. The Manageress asked if any of the party were vegetarians or if anyone had any allergies, which was quite thoughtful. I asked around and, luckily, that she asked, there was one person who was allergic to nuts and two, who were 'Vegens'.The Manageress told us not to worry and she would sort everything for us. She also asked whether we would like some dishes, which were not on the menu but which would remind a few of the party, who were Chinese, of Hong Kong. Of Course, we said 'yes' ! Friday night arrived and all the guests were chatting away. The food came at approximately 7.20pm. There were so many boxes, it was like a delivery from ParcelForce. The aroma from the food containers was so lovely and pleasant, it was making everyone even more hungry and they couldn't wait to tuck in.There were Chilli-peppered ribs, Chilli-peppered Shell-on Jumbo Prawns, Barbecued ribs, Capital ribs, Assorted types of chicken wings, thick Prawns on toast, Real crab claws with real prawn stuffing, won-tons, Siu-mi and Ha-kau, chicken and beef skewers, spicy rolls, Five-spice meat platter, shell-on prawns with chilli-dip, Roast cantonese duck, Duck with prawn-stuffing, Barbecue pork, tofu, noodles and a nice selection of chinese vegetables in scallop sauce. The food was truly exceptional and the quality excellent. All the people, who often dine out at top, upmarket restaurants all over the country and abroad on business, asked me where the food was from and I told them, the food was from a local takeaway called the 'Beijing City'. The Chinese guests were so surprised that a local takeaway could produce such delicious quality. A quality that they only expect in Hong Kong ! My family, especially my parents, relatives and friends are food critics and they do not give out praise so easily. They are frequent visitors to Hong Kong and China. They have visited Shanghai, Singapore, Thailand and Taiwan and have been to every top eatery in Manchester, Birmingham and London Chinatowns, when Chinese food was all the 'rage' in the hey days of the 1970's and 1980's, when the creme de la creme of Cantonese chefs came over from Hong Kong and worked there. They've tried all the others but 'westernised' chinese food is not want we want. Many of my business associates, contacts and friends are Chinese people and they all agree the food served at the 'Beijing City' is absolutely top Hong Kong quality, not 'imitation' or 'westernised' versions.As the saying goes in Hong Kong, 'eat where the Chinese themselves eat' and as my Chinese friends will tell you, 'Beijing City' is excellent ! Truly exceptional !!!

i ordered a takeaway from here on saturday night just before opening time and was told it would be half an hour , surprisingly it arrived within 15 minutes ... i had ordered salt and pepper chicken which usually comes in batter , however this was just slices of slimy chicken with no batter shoved in with a load of onions ! it tasted awful and we couldn't even work out what dish it was supposed to be for a few minutes . we also ordered some salt and pepper ribs which were covered in hard batter with chewy , stale meat underneath . the black bean sauce had an unappealing smell and taste and as for the salt and pepper chips , they are usually good from here but tonight they were rock hard with no flavour !! would not order from here again , awful meal

I really like the quality of food from Beijing City, very delicious and lots of flavours much better than Forum Restaurant. I have tasted a variety of Chinese cooking from Malaysia and I can seriously say that this place has high standards even my mum enjoyed it on her visit from Malaysia and she has been around the world.

Teníamos amigos por el fin de semana pasado y les había prometido un chino llevar. Pedir comida llamó por 8.30. Pregunta entre nosotros y el orden, tuvo que sustituir a uno vendido artículo con otro. Informó que sería con nosotros en una hora... Nunca llegó. Alrededor de las 9.45 y llamado negaron haber tomado la orden. Se ofreció a comenzar luego y entregar en otra hora. Que era demasiado tarde y aunque quejándose de el servicio, ponen el teléfono. Hazte un favor... ir a otro lugar.

Food quality and service are excellent. It can be a shade slow when they prepare food to order. My particular preference is their pak-fa duck. They will modify recipes if requested, which is helpful for my fussy vegetarian partner.

As a long term customer at Beijing city when I ordered my prawns and cashew nuts I expected just that, the rest of the family got what they ordered but when I got the order home there was no cashew nuts, I called to make sure there had been no mix up as I was naturally displeased that I hadn't received the correct food. The lady on the phone clearly had no idea what was going on and when I got passed to another woman the only explanation I received was that the chef "forgot" to add my cashew nuts. No apology was given, not once. I am genuinely appalled and will never return. If you mess up, always apologise.

Se trata de la china favorito de nuestra familia en Congleton. Utilizamos para ir al restaurante chino en la ciudad, hasta que un amigo me recomendó Beijing City para nosotros. El servicio es estupendo, y el personal es muy amable y educado. Vamos allí cada semana y cada vez que tiene familia o amigos. Mis padres les encanta el pollo dulce y amarga y decir que es el mejor que he probado en mi vida. Mis favoritos son los calamares y langostinos, mientras mi novia le encanta el pak-Fa pato. Mi tío le encanta las costillas en salsa de capital y la salsa cantonés, la Chow mein y la pasta especial de China.

Lovely Chinese from Beijing, never been here before but will definitely return. The food was ready on time, cooked well, fair-priced and the fortune cookies were a nice touch (the kids loved them!). The only fault I would say was the chow mein was packed with too much veg, I would rather of had more chicken and noodles :) See you again soon.

Very disappointed, I had Won Ton & Noodle soup, there were 3 small dumplings with no pastry around them. I paid £3.50 for basically a bowl of noodles, and cabbage. This was not Won Ton, they should be reported under the Trades Description Act.Dragon & Phoenix Soup supposed to contain Crabmeat and Chicken but found it difficult to find either in the bowl, it was mainly sweetcorn.Our mains should have contained both Ginger and Spring Onions, whilst the meat was ok, the spring onions were the green leafy part that you normally throw away, there was none of the white bulbous part.Of the 5 items that we ordered the only thing that was acceptable and as described was the Egg Fried Rice.Marks out of 10 - I would give it a 1 (one)

Fabulous meal ! Had friends over from Manchester last night. Girlfriend didn't fancy cooking, so we ordered a takeout. We ordered our 'must-have' favourite crispy duck and chilli ribs, and the Hors d'oeuvres and skewers. Friends had the steamed salmon in blackbean, Duck with minced prawns, fillet steak in cantonese sauce, chicken with plum sauce, sechuan beef and the hottest dish on the menu, Hainan beef. The starters were delicious, the salmon was cooked to perfection, the cantonese sauce was better than our favourite restaurant in Manchester and the Hainan beef was so hot that our tongues are still burning.Must be one of the best meals we've had .
