We decided to visit this pub and were pleased we did. From the moment we walked in the staff were friendly and helpful. We were given a nice table in a quiet position. The menu was varied and quite extensive. We shared the belly pork bites and chicken wings to start and both were delicious. To follow my husband had the pork ribs and I had the mac'cheese and coleslaw. We just about managed an ice-cream to finish! I can thoroughly recommend this place

Really enjoyed our dinner tonight. Super friendly staff and locals, and fair pricing - we’ll definitely be back. We had the belly pork bites and salt and pepper squid to start, and shared a mixed platter for our main.

We came here for the evening as part of a business get together for a pre challenge meal. The choice of beers and spirits was excellent, both local and international brands. Good selection of local Cotswold gin. The staff were excellent and efficient, very relaxed despite being busy. The food was amazing, best BBQ food I’ve tasted and I LOVE BBQ food. This makes places like the Red Dog in London look like Mc Donald’s. Well done on getting great meat and outrageous flavour. We live over 3 hours away in Essex, but I will make a return visit to this area for the food. 100% recommended

Stayed at this lovely place for one night B &B . From arriving to leaving the staff were very obliging and helpful with a friendly approach. Our room was on the smallish size but very comfortable and clean . It's a nice village and quiet. We also decided to have a meal in the restaurant and was very happy with the quality and presentation of the food and the following morning we enjoyed a delicious breakfast. This was the perfect stop over for us and would definitely stay again . Thank you

Visiting friends again in the area and they took us the the restaurant again for the second time. Food was fabulous, I had the Cornish lamp and others had the half chicken cooked outside. Both meals were great. Wine list is good and all four of us enjoyed the outside dining. Will definitely return on next visit.

The prices of the new menu are absurd.. £12 for a sandwich, £7.50 for a small sausage roll, £10 for a cheese and egg bap are the CHEAPEST options, the breakfasts are £14-16.. This is CIRENCESTER not Harrods Food Hall in London. The popularity has gone to your heads, greed is rife in the Cotsworlds!

We went for dinner. Although the service was great, tables nicely spaced, nice selection of wines by the glass the experience 'in my opinion' was let down by the food. My beetroot and gin cured salmon with tonic gel was served in a chipped plate and although the portion was generous the tonic gel was bitter and quite unappealing and the salmon itself was average. For main I had duck for me the duck was slightly overcooked however the dish was sadly let down by the red wine jus. What accompanied the dish was more of a gravy then a red wine jus and sadly the gravy tasted just like bisto. Desserts were standard pub classics chocolate fondant for my partner and rhubarb bakewell tart for me both very nice. In summary atmosphere great, service great but an ambitious menu lacking in the finer touches
