So sad to see it close. The staff have been excellent. Used it about 4 times a year over 30 years. Good luck to all the staff for the future.

Revisited the restaurant for breakfast on a drive to Scotland. No signage explaining to customers that the restaurant was closed to non Premier Inn customers..... My partner and I are both disabled and struggle with mobility, so having parked the car and slowly walking to the entrance then to be confronted by the restaurant manager and told that we couldn't have breakfast....... Shocking experience, a few signs outside the building, on the way into the carpark, etc. wouldn't go a-miss. Get your act together.

Turned up at 4pm and restaurant was closed.

I recently had a nice lunch at Beefeater Travellers Rest, and it was a great experience. The food was delicious with a variety of well-prepared dishes. I especially liked the quality and flavor of the meal, and there was plenty of parking. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, perfect for a relaxing lunch. The staff were friendly and attentive, giving excellent service. Overall, Beefeater Travellers Rest is a wonderful place for lunch, and I highly recommend it.

Turned away for breakfast as they were only serving hotel guests. This is despite there only being 3 cars in the whole car park

I’ve been stopping here for work quite recently this year and have found the Beefeater Travellers Rest a very welcoming place to eat. Most of all because of the staff, Lesley, Nicole and the one with glasses whose name escapes me (sorry 😣. Their super friendly vibe makes you feel so welcome and at ease, especially when you’re on your own like I usually am. Can’t say enough about this team. I do include the breakfast team in this as well who are also quick and efficient at getting you on your way in the morning with the minimum of fuss. One point I’d like to make is the way one of the evening team dealt with a particularly obnoxious customer. She was very polite when the customer was rude and standoffish. She didn’t loose her cool and kept very calm as the customer (who was in the wrong) started to protest all the more. If points or bonuses are given, this particular staff member deserves it 👏🏻👏🏻. The food is always to a good standard, both evening and breakfast. So compliments to the chef. A great view as well. Possibly my favourite Beefeater restaurant so far. ❤️🐺

I have been going to this place every Sunday for breakfast and never booked and this Sunday we turned up as normal and the manager turned to us rudely and told us to go has no space. well I could see a load of spaces ..well thank you for that me and the of lads and found a new venue that we use in the future ..and then sat on our own next Sunday like the norm you may reflect on your action

Stopped for food on Sunday, 28th April. At Beefeater Travellers Rest. Waitress Tam was brilliant. Food arrived. Tam came over and asked if all was good at the time we said yes. On eating the meat was horrendous more grissle/fat on the steak than meat, the one gammon was very chargrilled. Totally disappointed with the meal.

Maybe I'm unlucky but every time I go either the service is slow the bill is wrong or they've run out of dishes. Others like it but not for me, given it too many chances already. Upmarket place though and a decent pint.

Wouldn’t recommend. Food left a bit to be desired - disappointing breakfast, which seemingly was being cleared up well before the end of service.

Food was absolutely shocking the bacon looked as if it had been boiled! The only thing about this breakfast that was edible was the toast! The staff were rude and clearly did not want to be there not a pleasant Experiance would not recommend, avoid like COVID!!

We went for lunch at The Travellers Rest, (Beefeater) at Ross on Wye on 1/3/24 and were served by Sange. She was delightful and considerate. Our stepmother is 94 and didn’t have a great appetite. Sange reduced the size of her portion as she was aware that older people hate to waste food having experienced rationing. Great food as well!

The tables were dirty I'm not tidied up the staff are not very helpful we ordered our food the starter came lukewarm not hot and our main course arrived before with finished our starter again only lukewarm not hot totally disappointed with this place will never be trying this one again I recommend it's avoided by everyone

We attended for breakfast after staying in the Premier Inn. Very friendly welcome, excellent service and great variety for continental and cooked breakfast. Left very full ready to face the day!

First time visiting this Beefeater, and I promise you it shall be our last. We went on a Sunday hoping to have the Sunday Roast menu. We were given the Sunday menu, to then be told after waiting a while to order that actually that menu wasn't available. Mind you, we arrived at 3pm.. So how can you be that unprepared at providing a full menu? We were then given the standard menu with limited options. No steak, no skinny fries, the list just went on and on. How can you run a restaurant with no food? After spending £60 for 2 people we had nothing but overcooked food and stagnant service. The staff would make excuses to others around us that they were understaffed or it's been a busy day... There were literally 5 tables. These excuses for sloppy service aren't our problem, and management should do a better job ensuring that the full menu is actually available. Don't expect service with a smile here. This has to be one of the worst Beefeaters I've ever visited.

Always, great service friendly staff. The only downside is that they don't always have everything on the menu. However, food quality is great.

Great location and you know what you are going to get. Came today as it is an easy meeting point when meeting friends who are also travelling. Service was quick and the staff were friendly and happy to have a bit of banter. The restaurant is well loaded out so your group has a bit of privacy when eating so it feels good if it is busy or quiet. Food was pretty good and pretty standard stuff. I would recommend booking ahead on there website which is super easy to use

This beefeater is at a great location, on the roundabout of the M50, its a great shopping place before heading on the motorway heading north or south of England, food was basic, nothing too special, the service where great, atmosphere was ok, but could do with spending some money to update and modernise the furniture. but cant go wrong, it a pub and a great place to stop for lunch and.

Food was OK but had to wait a long time for food to be served and had to go and ask for sweet as no one came to clear plates and it was not busy.

Tasty food, excellent Guinness, but surprisingly pricey. Your better off going to Wetherspoons, although the one in Ross on wye is more like a cafe than a pub.

Visited early sunday evening food was not good have eaten there before which was great !MY Partners prawn cocktail and eldest sons chicken burger were fine but mine a festive meal steak and chips with Yorkshire pudding with a sauce was awfull ,cold over done chips soggy Yorkshire and dreadful sauce my youngest son had the veggi lasagne and that was grim overall very poor !

I took my wife, daughter and two grandchildren to this restaurant for a treat after they suffered the cold to watch me play wheelchair rugby all day. Unfortunately, it was not a treat. Initially we were left at the maitre'd desk for 10 minutes until someone finally seated us. Despite not being particularly busy the waitress took ages to serve us during our visit, it was only on our way out we saw her chatting away to someone not in her area. The food was awful, the veggie sticks starter for my grandson, looked like it had previously been chewed and the carrots weren't even peeled. The starters for us adults, chicken goujons and prawn cocktails were passable, but the main course of roast turkey was indescribably bad, but I shall try. The vegetables were undercooked and once again not peeled properly, the sprouts were so bad I had to pick them up as I couldn't get my fork in! The turkey was dry and the gravy was like gruel. We opted against desserts for the adults as the other food was so bad, we didnt see the point in compounding the issue. However, my grandson had the festively titled "santa's hat" for dessert, although I am not entirely sure that Santa would wear a thick and heavy sundae dish on his head, so where the hat aspect comes in I have no idea. We waited ages for the waitress to get the bill, in the end my wife said very loudly that we should just walk out, cue the manager to print the bill a bit sharpish. I paid a total of £75.68 for this "treat". It was so bad I wish we'd gone to McDonalds, at least the service is quicker! Easily the worst Beefeater we have visited and trust me, it is up against some very stiff opposition from other branches.

The weekdays set menu is great value, and it was al delivered nicely and hot, in good time, by the friendly staff.

Great place to meet family. Me and my brother live in DudleyMB my aunt lives in Cardiff. So this is ideal all round. An hour drive for everyone. And the food is proper tastey. Ps staff are rite nice too

Last minute decision to have lunch. No trouble getting a table for 2. Very few staff on duty so service was haphazard. Once we had ordered there was a decent wait before our food arrived.

Food OK, rather expensive for what we had, not a great selection on offer, my wife just had chips, but they were served in an enamel dish !!!!, not an ideal choice.

Never had a bad meal here. Steaks always good albeit a bit pricey unless you have a discount. Staff always friendly.

Disgusting food. Ribs were burnt. Fish n Chips were soggy and the skin still on the fish! Never again.

A little disappointed that they weren't seating in the restaurant, but we sat in the bar, quick delivery on our order and reasonably priced too. On the whole a good experience.

Took a 25 minute detour off our journey to come here for food, would not serve us as they were not taking walk in customers due to staff going home early. Staff leaving early should not be your customers problem.

Waitress was very pleasant and the only reason I have given the place 2 stars. Table sticky as were the menu's. Being half way through a very long journey we just wanted a decent meal well we didn't get it.The food was terrible , steak and ale pie tasted of neither and the rock hard peas could have been used as an offensive weapon. The Gravy pot that came out with it had the tell-tale ring around it where it was obviously microwaved. Chips again bland I left half of the meal. Hubby finished it because after his meal he was still starving hungry... bbq chicken thing he ordered had to have been a children's meal . My 4yr old grandaughter eat's bigger meals than that. Bacon on top must have been cut by a surgeon it was that thin and shreading a bit of lettuce and throwing it at the plate isn't really a garnish. Again the meal was obviously microwaved. Poor food, dirty environment ( ladies toilets are manky with a door you can't close ). The only decent bit was the member of staff. The food we stopped for at the closest motorway service station was much better.

I have to say I was impressed with how food the food was, everything certainly arrived fresh and well cooked. I was impressed with my salmon and my calamari which didn't appear to be just out of the freezer. Although the spicy mayo sauce should say hot mayo 🥵 I would certainly make a trip to visit again

Food is pretty decent, but the staff are really great. One of the servers, Charlie, was absolutely off her feet serving so many people at once and was still super lovely and chipper. Absolutely killing it.

Discussed sticky table with staff.apparently it is the spray they use to clean the tabled....beefeater you need to sort it out. Staff were SO nice.

We have eaten here a few times as family live close by. Nothing is too much trouble. The staff are really friendly and the service is excellent. Food is always freshly cooked, plenty of it and tastes delicious. Drinks are good (we only have soft drinks) love the coffee and little desserts. Parking is free when you put your reg in a machine.

Extremely friendly staff and supper helpful. Food can be a hit and miss sometimes, but restaurant staff is always available to help and ensure clients' satisfaction when things don't go as planned in the kitchen. Prices are reasonable and plenty of car parking.

Drove past here so many times heading to Cardiff. Finally had time to stop and eat here. Wow! Simply the best food and service Ive ever experienced at any similar establishments. Call hete you will not be dissapoinytd.

Food and service were fine. Restaurant was not clean from dirty floors to cobwebs everywhere and toilets which looked like they hadn't been cleaned for a week. Wouldn't return.

A party of six most of the food was good. Two portions of sweetcorn were bad, the server was very professional and sorted this out.

Service was good and friendly, the food however left a lot to be desired. I had a mixed grill the stake was medium to rare as requested but had not been tenderised properly if at all, at £45 for that and a salmon meal I won't go there again, and before people ask no I didn't complain, I did mention it to the lovely lady who came to tidy the table, but she was nice and had nothing to do with the cooking, I was tired and grumpy and would not have been polite so rather than getting more worked up we left.

Decor very '70s/'80s. Service friendly. Portions a bit small ( I had what equates to cheesy chips). Looked much better than on the photo.

Food was very nice and service was quick and staff were very friendly but the whole place is grubby, seats are stained and table's are sticky.

Sunday roast was amazing. The meat was like butter. The service was polite and friendly, and I recommend booking in advance to avoid disappointment. I booked it 30 minutes before I arrived. It got really busy after 1pm.

Good service. We're bust but fitted us in. I had the salmon salad which was really fresh and tasty. Tables weren't cleaned quickly but as they were busy they did a good job of being attentive

After being recommended, we stopped off on our back to Nottingham. Tables were very sticky, and the staff were busy chatting to the locals at the bar. Took 15 minutes to order our drinks in between the ongoing conversation. Food, when it eventually arrived, was cold, the well done steak was bleeding all over the plate. Sent the steak back. It was taken off the plate with bare hands after serving beer and handling cash. After 25 minutes, we asked a staff member what had happened to the steak. It was returned to our table very tough on the outside and pink inside, suggesting it had been microwaved. We asked for serviettes from a passing waitress who gave us 2 serviettes for 3 people claiming there were no more available. Same waitress, she proceeded to clean the next table. It was a feeble attempt and explained why they were sticky. Overall, our experience was one to forget it took nearly 2 hours to get drinks and meals. The barperson was still chatting with the same person all the time we were there. Very poor service throughout.

Don’t bother on Sundays if you like roasted potatoes they always run out

Tried to do a walk in and told no space. I understand we were a party of 7 with no booking but it was for breakfast.. Also watched 6 people leave as we got into our car! Car park also awful to enter nearly ripped the bottom of our car off

Fab meal as always. No problem for the staff even with a table for 11.

We were really surprised at the quality of food and service. A little bit on the expensive side especially the mac and cheese. £4.29 for half a ramekin full I think was a bit steep bit it was lovely. The breakfasts are well worth the money and I if staying at the Premier Inn I would recommend the meals inclusive price.

Went there, did not book. Were told we had to sit in the bar which was no real difference to sitting in the restaurant. Food was nice. Prompt good beer.

The service was amazing. The food manager was very helpful. I didn't get our waitress name but she couldn't do enough for us. Food was what you expect from a beefeater nothing wrong and enjoyable to eat.

Food was the usual standard to expect from a pub chain but pub is looking tired and would benefit from a refurbishment.

Food here was poor. Ribs were tasteless and undercooked. Someone was smoking in the toilets and the smoke came through to the restaurant and put us off our meal.
