We checked in to the Premier Inn at 7.15 looking forward to a relaxing evening having some food and a drink next door at the Beefeater. We decided to only have 3 starters to share and requested that they all come together. 2 out of the 3 were served to our table and we were told the chips wouldn't be long. 15 mins later our chicken had gone cold when then chips arrived. The Manager agreed to not charge us for the chips but we felt it spoiled the whole experience. I found the staff to be uninterested and unmotivated in their roles. Certainly not working as a team. More in-house training needed in customer care. Disappointing evening

Myself and my friend wanted to eat out somewhere after a long shift. When we walked in we were greeted by a very nice lady called Shannon. We sat down and Shannon gave us menus and took our drinks orders which were delivered to our table very quickly. We ordered a double cheeseburger meal each and the food was incredible! Hats off to Shannon and her welcoming team as well as the fantastic skills of the chefs! Will definitely be coming in again soon!

We went to the restaurant on the spur of the moment. And we are glad we did. We have not been there before, and will most certainly go there again. The service was excellent. Special thanks to Chantay (sp?)And to Paul and his team in the kitchen . All very approachable and helpful with the answers to our questions about allergens. Nice cheerful atmosphere, comfortable seats and great food.Thanks to all the staff.

11/01/2022 - Sergio the restaurant manager deserves a knighthood for running that restaurant in his own all evening and still providing an outstanding service, he came in on his night off and ran an entire service on his own with no waiting staff, he had another young lady working with him who served the bar and it was rammed, yet he managed the numbers, managed the capacity on his own, taking order, serving, getting condiments, drinks, you name it he did it, I even went to get my own condiments and yet he stopped me and said ‘it’s my job’ while dealing with complaints about the service and the food, while the young lady served a very busy bar area and helped him with serving drinks at the tables. The food was ok, it’s keenly prices but it takes nothing away from this mans effort, if there are any complaints about the food or service on this night, then it should take nothing away from Sergio’s tireless effort to keep this chain alive. I know the hospitality industry is struggling with staff shortages at the moment, but Beefeater need to up their game, and recognise when they have an outstanding member of their staff, Sergio has the character and determination to run an entire service single handed and still be polite and work his ass off.I’ve never met the guy before and have no personal interest in making this review but If there are any complaints about the service or rod tonight then Beefeater need to take responsibility not Sergio, Brexit my backside, this fella put in a massive shift tonight and needs to be rewarded - I hope you do!

As regular visitors to The Premier Inn Reading Gateway to see our children, we have nothing but good reviews for the Hotel and it's staff. However the attached Beefeater restaurant continually disappoints.Tonight we tried to visit the restaurant at 7.30pm, to be told quite bluntly that we couldn't possibly be served because they only had one chef on duty. They could, however, find the time to serve us drinks!If they had asked, we only wanted a combination stater and some garlic flatbread between us, because we had eaten out at lunchtime. But no follow up queries, or attempt to find a solution. There were only about four tables being served, so I'm sure any sensible customer focused business would have tried to fit us in.We visited again an hour later to see just how busy they were, and still only a few tables eating.We realise that restaurants, like many businesses are having staff issues, but it was the way we were dealt with rather than the lack of staff, which was so annoying.We are very regular visitors to our local Beefeater, who have suffered from the same problems, but always try to find a solution rather than simply say "Go Away!"Poor customer experience - the Premier Inn must be furious that their guests are told that they can not be served.Sorry this Review is so long, but I had to write this time, after a shocking breakfast on Sunday 19th September, the last time we stayed, which I didn't review. Stone cold baked beans and mushrooms, rubbery fried eggs, bacon folded over several times and not cooked. Chef was dressed in a hoody but when challenged other staff on duty weren't bothered - apparently "it wasn't their problem."Come on Beefeater - get a grip of this restaurant.

An excellent venue with service being on a very high level showing that staff genuinely care about their customers; I'm really impressed. A good selection of drinks particularly the Christmas Cake Gin - recommended. The starters, main courses and pud were served promptly and exceeded expectations. I recommend the Beefeater at the Reading Gateway. We will definitely visit again.

Just had a great visit for 5 people. Food was served promptly. Can recommend the Posh prawn cocktail, and the Roast Turkey which had so many trimmings and was served piping hot with extra gravy (only criticism was that there was too much). Staff were very attentive and welcoming. Nice touch of the wooden xmas novelties in the xmas crackers. They also returned the deposit for two people who had to cancel.

The only gluten free hot item on the entire menu was chips! The young man on duty tried really hard to find an option and spoke to chef, but that was all they had. I think there may have been some supply problem, but they are in the middle of a town for essential items!!! The young man was very apologetic and gave us lots of chips for our money, but we really wanted a meal for three, two being gluten free!!!

I thought you couldn't go wrong with nachos.. but apparently you can. Generously served with 1 strand of cheese, salsa replaced with BBQ sauce, and sour cream I was almost certain was yoghurt, with the texture of cottage cheese. You're better off going to the local shop, to buy a bag of Doritos. Don't ignore previous reviews on slow service, you couldn't get any slower. With 5 members of staff stood around 1 till chatting, I don't think they were run off their feet. Burgers looked nothing like the pictures on the website, and very dry, so make sure you get a large drink to help wash it down. I understand this is a budget friendly environment, but they couldn't even get the simple things correct. You're better off going to Burger King or Nando's on the same complex.

After staying at the hotel (next door) a couple of weeks ago and had a disastrous time in the restaurant I was concerned when my company booked me again in this hotel this week. Hotel is fine typical of a Premier Inn. The concerns about my evening meal in the Beefeater next door soon evaporated as service was prompt and courteous, not like before. My meal was absolutely fine and I was very happy.Until this morning! Staff were not particularly welcoming. After the customary room number check I was offered no explanation of how to help myself for breakfast, not that it’s particularly difficult for an all you can eat breakfast,So the food - all cooked beforehand, I say cooked the sausages still had a pulse! The amount of sausages, bacon and fried eggs cooked in advance was amazing. All left under heat lamps to cook on and dry out. The staff sat chatting at a table and occasionally the ‘chef’ mustard some energy to rise from his table to put some more food in the microwave, disturbing his chat with his colleagues about their time sheets they were to submit.Back to the food, I mentioned heat lamps but ‘heat’ is an exaggeration because the food was barely warm which shows how long the food had been under them as the bacon had dried out, the eggs were solid and the mushrooms had learnt to swim in the gloop they were in. Cold plates didn’t help along with working my way through the stack to find a clean one!So the ‘chef’ busied himself occasionally whilst he was eating his own food and operating the microwaves, no uniform, no sign of hand washing in between his own eating. In my opinion he cooked so much and left it out for so long all so he and the other staff cam maximise the time they don’t have to do any work.No welcome as such, told to sit where I want and a growing number of tables not cleaned up from previous diners while the staff were all around one table chatting and laughing.The experience was well below poor and if I am to stay at the premier inn next door again I would not have breakfast and put my cash into the local drive through.

We are staying in the premier inn and had a two course meal in the Beefeater as part of a meal deal. The food was superb from start to finish. Fresh,hot and tasty. Even though they were extremely busy we were well looked after by a charming young waiter called Alex. Very pleasant and attentive a real credit to your company. I say experience but we walked out as life is too short to wait in a place where you already have zero confidence. 18:40 walked into restaurant, No one to greet us. So we walked up to a chap who said, sorry we need to slow the good orders down. It wasn’t busy at all! Told to get a drink and wait. So we did. We waited until we finished our drinks. No one came over, no one apologised for the wait. So we looked up closest restaurants and departed. Don’t think anyone noticed. So people, do yourself favour and dont even bother to try. Absolute joke of a place. Management need to serious have a word!

Shocking experience, booked and paid for breakfast in advance. Breakfast should have started at 07:00, we turned up at 07:10, left waiting at door for 5 mins, finally man comes over in normally clothing, says he a chef and no staff have turned up for work. He said we could come and sit down and wait. A waitress arrived and wondered around the restaurant in her coat looking lost. Chef was in the kitchen in coat and normal clothes prepping breakfast. After waiting further 15 minutes we went through to the premier inn and requested a refund. Unexceptional behaviour for a business taking money but not being ready to serve customers on time.

I travel a lot. I would rate this as the worst Beefeater in the uk. A claim to fame!So here’s a live example, (24/9) the cook has just rocked up and it’s 0655. Breakfast starts at 630. The cook seems pleased with himself and so for us no cooked breakfast. So much for the meal deal ripoff. No milk in the coffee machine…. Staff disinterested. Get milk and have coffee and a choice of yogurt, cereal and a muffin. Yes folks this is the Beefeater ‘continental breakfast’. Utterly appalling and stuck in some time warp from the 80s.Last night, finally new staff on who seem nice compared to previous staff. However Beedeater, why do I have to beg for tomato sauce with my meal? I get given a small pot of sauce- probably a tea spoon worth. I had to ask x3 for more sauce…. Why so stingy?!So for me I am off to McDonalds for breakfast and I vow never to eat here again.

Booked over a week ago for a birthday meal. Parent travelled over from abroad (not just for the meal!) and sibling and family travelled from Swindon for a pre booked meal. Arrived at our booked time to be told that they were only serving hotel guests due to lack of staff. They had only just turned the grills on and they would take at least an hour to heat up. The guy meeting us said we shouldnt have been able to book (but obviously we could) he said the booking page had been taken down, in which case they should have checked for bookings and called us to cancel. There was also another family waiting to be seated behind us so this wasn’t a one off booking that went awry As we all know at the moment pre booking is pretty much a must. After trying 3 other places to book a meal, ended up at Nando’s which we really didn’t want as this is a usual takeaway of ours Thanks for a crappy birthday family meal beefeater

Came here with my family and had booked a table via phone. On arrival the restaurant was empty but could hear people talking. Eventually someone came from the back and asked if we were staying in the hotel which we said no. We were then told that they were only serving hotel guests. To which we told them we had booked a table on the phone last night. The reply was was “did you? Who with?” they then went back to check and then a different person came out and told us to follow them to a table. No explanation though. We were given printed out menus which were very hard to see asked for a lunch menu told there was no lunch menu which we said it’s on the website and outside on the board waitress just said no they don’t do it with no apologies just “no.” . We thought about going else where but stayed and ordered food and drinks. Whilst we were waiting for our orders at least 3 other groups of people came in and sat down looking at menus only to leave again. One even cancelling their drinks. A little while later we noticed other tables being given a lunch menu which was very odd as we had already been told there was no lunch menu at all. Food was good apart from the chicken salad which seemed to just be a whole lettuce and a half of a tomato cut into bits. The other dishes were to expectation and I enjoyed my cannelloni. On the whole a bad experience and we won’t be returning to this venue.

I popped down from my hotel room for a quick dinner. They advertise that you can take food back to your room. I requested the loaded potato dippers and the staff member said she had to ask someone first. She was very busy and I waited quite a while but I understand that this can happen. She told me they were understaffed and she could do me a bacon burger. I said I was after the dippers starter. She said she could do me some chicken goujons... I said no. She finally offered me some mushrooms. I've had these before so I said yes. She brought me over to the till and I paid. I wasn't offered a receipt but didn't suspect I'd need one. As I waited, a man ordered a drink, which she started to pour and he asked if he could order some food. She went on to list the 6 items that were available and I'm not sure why she didn't explain the full situation to me. He was visibly annoyed but she'd already poured the drink and then demanding payment for it. I think he wanted to order food with her drink. I found her fairly dismissive and not really "all there". I put this down to the situation and was forgiving. I imagine they'd got a lot of grief from people who had tried to order food.The second staff member asked if I had ordered mushrooms and I said yes. She wandered over and grabbed a bowl and handed it to me. I have attached the picture of what I got, what was advertised and what it is supposed to look like. By the time I got up to the 5th floor I'd had time to think about how terrible the food looked compared to usual and how much I'd been ripped off. But I didn't want to go back down and they looked like they weren't too fussed. Instead of chunky slices, I recieved small button mushrooms and one dip. They weren't at all what they were meant to be and I ended up at Burger King later to get something a bit more substantial. I am aware this was a starter but it's not the starter that was advertised. Having finished my short break and had time to think about it I feel that the restaurant should not have opened that evening of they weren't able to offer adequate food to their usual standard. This was a poor decision by the staff. And while I understand their fatigue, their general attitude and service was also poor. I imagine it must be terribly boring to keep having to tell people they don't have staff or food but a sign on the door would have helped. Also actively approaching people directly rather than waiting for them to order food and then listing items individually that have nothing to do with what was requested...I'd have closed the restaurant myself. Anyway, I'd like to be clear that I have contacted Beefeater about this issue (although their website kept deleting my details so I've suggested they email me for more information). However, this here is an accurate review of my experience, not a request for support. There is no need for Beefeater to reply to this review here and I won't engage with any replies here.

We were staying in the premier inn while away on a birthday tour of the UK. I’m so glad this isn’t our local beefeater. The host was rude and blunt and felt like she really didn’t want to be there. Once seated it took 30 minutes to actually get a drink. Waitresses just walking past ignoring you, instead the ones who were just coming for a drink outside were being served immediately at the bar. As we were sitting near the kitchen we saw the chef walk off and go and talk to some guests at a table, like they must have known each other. We then notice the hoist telling over guests who looked unhappy about other places to eat like Nando’s. They got up and left. We were still just sitting there with our drinks for another half an hour in a pretty much empty beefeater, until the hoist finally comes to us and tell us that somethings broken in the kitchen and they are unable to cook. (I’m sorry but the chef hasn’t been there for about 45 minutes and now you finally tell us?) we then get the same story as others about other local restaurants. Meanwhile the waitresses are just sitting around laughing and joking with each other, really not wanting to be there. I really hope someone from Beefeater sees all of these recent comments and actually goes there to sort it out. It’s not far from Swindon beefeater academy, maybe sent them all back there. We were booked in for breakfast too, unfortunately instead we were much better off at costa. I’d rather start our day on a good note.

My other half and I decided on the spur of the moment to pop in to our new local Beefeater for lunch - my other half had been previously and enjoyed the food, we stood waiting to be seated for 15 mins - during this Time two members of staff walked passed us, looked us up and down and walked away - it was only because another customer walked up to us and told us it was closed all day and she had booked and was waiting for a decision on whether they could be bothered to serve her - we walked out after the 15mins and no one came near us!! If your closed at least have the decency to tell potential customers of this fact instead of walking past us giving us filthy looks - judging by other reviews on this site customer service is a problem at this site

I stayed at the Premier inn next door on business for a couple of days. Hotel is great.The restaurant leaves a lot to be desired. The serving staff are ignorant and seem a though they do not want to be there and if you complain you get the filthiest of looks.First night: I requested a clean knife and fork and condiments for my main course. It was like I had asked for the world. She stormed off and banged them on the table when she returned, except the vinegar, which I had to ask another waitress for, when I got ones attention, halfway through my meal.I did complain but was fobbed off and not offered any form of recompense.Second night:Even more of a limited menu, starter was supeb and compliments put forward but the main course arrived on a dirty plate, greasy finger marks and it was rejected. The waitress gave me the filthiest of looks and still chewing on her gum sauntered off. I watched as the chef threw it onto anther plate. When it finally arrived it was rejected. I requested the Manager who could not see the problem. I was not offered any form of recompense.Having been a bar and restaurant manager for several years, I find this type of thing incredibly annoying and it could be nipped in the bud with the correct handling.Poorly trained staff and couldn't care less management. I will be following this up at director level.My meal voucher has been refunded by the hotel. The restaurant are still not interested.Considering the amount of time restaurants were closed due to the pandemic, you would have thought they would try and make an effort to keep their customers appeased.Obviously not.

I have been up here for work, from Norwich for the past month or so, and all I can say is how rude the restaurant manager is, just seems like she didn’t want no customer in her restaurant or anything, got a lovely bunch of bar staff and people who serve food, the best thing you could do as a company is get rid of her and try find someone who actually wants to be there and interact with customers, she is not the person at all!

Wow. Could I have more appalling service today? Waited for staff to finish chatting and this took 5 mins before I got seated…. (Female black hair and male with tattoos). Had to ask for a tea bag…. And also had to ask for milk….. I mean wanting a mug of tea at 7am isn’t unreasonable…is it? only 3 guests in restaurant so not busy at all. How can staff get away with this? Bloke in kitchen was good value and had a laugh with him. Let’s see what tonight and tomorrow bring…..

We came in for breakfast as a family of 5. We never normally leave reviews but seeing as we had an amazing time we thought we would make a account! Service was great and food was nice and hot. We spoke to the male manager and for the life of me I can’t remember his name but we just wanted to compliment him on his work. He was explaining that he’s the kitchen manager but he was helping the other staff and will be the next few mornings. We will be back in Monday for breakfast as we felt so comfortable being there. My wife and I arrived for breakfast an hour before serving finished. Cooked breakfast items had been prepared long before we arrived and many items were such as the eggs and bacon were dry and I the bacon especially was hard and a danger to peoples teeth. Service tongs were so hot at lying under heated lamps that I had to ask for replacements. The cereal and drinks area floor was extremely sticky and unpleasant to walk on. Two members of staff were sitting using their mobile phones throughout our time there.

Popped in for a quick bite to eat with my family on our way home from a day trip to Legoland. We were seated fairly quickly. Our waitress was fantastic and couldn't have been anymore help. Drinks arrived quick. Food was average and potion sizes were small for the price you pay. My only complaint is as we were sat close to the kitchen both me and my wife didn't appreciate our young children hearing how rude the chefs were to the waitresses and then having to listen to them laughing while our waitress had to have a break was appalling behaviour.

Shameful behaviour of (all female) serving staff! Catty, young, disgusting. A typical example of how a young person would behave with a group of friends if they decded to open a restaurant. Stopped bar service at 20:10, laughing and taking the mick out of many of the diners without realising their actions were seen/heard by others. Worst restaurant i have had in 59 years.

As a family of 4 we decided to give this restaurant another shot after our first visit being a bit disappointing. The manageress seemed very condescending and the service was slow the last time we visited.Upon arriving we were greeted with a very warm welcome from the manageress. (Not the same lady as our last visit) Olivia was our waitress and she couldn’t have been more attentive to us. Our drinks arrived promptly and the food tasted great. The service was excellent from start to finish. Thank you for making our second visit far better then the first! Because of this we will be back again soon!!

Paul the Manager was fantastic, due to all the issues with loosing staff due to Covid, he managed to squeeze all 12 of us in, you could tell the staff were under pressure but they were fantastic and went that extra mile to ensure we had a good experience. Paul served us as well and certainly knew about all the beers on offer, we’ll certainly go back again.

Terrible, on a family holiday staying in the hotel next door for 3 nights. First morning we had a reservation for breakfast at 9am. We didn’t get our drinks until 9:40 and were still waiting for our food when we walked out at 10:15. We asked to speak to the manager but she kept avoiding us, even when we got up to leave she saw us coming at the entrance where she was still seating people and she moved away to another table to avoid us. Those that had gone the distance and waited almost 2 hours for their breakfast said the food was terrible! Avoid this place at all costs!

1. Husbands starter took 35 mins to arrive. Tomato & basil dip was missing and no staff member was around to speak to so he just ate it and staff member was told when they picked up the plate. 2. My main meal was barely warm. There happened to be a staff member walking past so they took it away and apparently a new meal was made although we expect it was just put in the microwave. By the time it came back my husband had already finished his meal.3. Had to ask for drinks and they took ages to arrive.4. Two staff members were having a moaning discussion which isn’t good to hear when trying to have a nice meal out.5. One staff member had a not so good view of the company and did quite a bit of swearing to us about the menu and company.6. Heard a good few tables complaining about the service and food. All in all an extremely disappointing experience. Don’t think we will be visiting any Beefeater any time soon.

Sat outside waiting to be served for drinks for around 20 minutes what looked like a manager came to take orders for customers already waiting before us, we tried to get his attention but raced off. 15 minutes later waitress came out with drinks for waiting customers we tried again to catch the waitresses attention but to no avail so unfortunately we decided to leave after waiting around 40 minutes to order drinks.

Tables were distanced with screens.We then sat and waited, and waited and waited. Eventually had our order taken. And again we waited for our drinks. My sons meal wasn’t quite right (chips not mash he wanted) but we could t be bothered to wait more. Food was as expected . We had to hook on line, then wait 40 mins outside then 10 mins to be seated. Then we waited so loooooong to have our order taken. There are too few staff working. The food, when we got it, was acceptable. Nothing special but not bad. The burger was not as appealing as in the menu photo - a lot smaller. The boys (aged 11 and 14 years old) shared a rack of bar-b-q ribs which again was a small portion. In retrospect they could have managed a rack each. Not much point in having refilled soft drinks if you cannot find any waiting staff to ask to refill the glass. Overall an ok visit. It served a purpose. Will not be rushing back.

Never again will I go to this place. Went tonight . 1st of all had to change my drink it was tasteless. Then waited 50-55 mins for dinner which turned up the onion rings cold and the jacket potato black , slimes and raw. Couldn’t order anything else(not that I wanted to as there was already other complaints going on) as we had waited so long we had to pick up our daughter and couldn’t wait another 50 mins. Then when I went to complain to the manager one of the serving boys piped up and told me I was rude cause I’d called them kids!!!!! They were about 18 ish. Booked the £24.99 pp meal deal for 2 courses a drink and the breakfast. Staff very busy on both occasions and seating was nicely spaced. I upgraded my mains to the surf and turf which was superb for an extra £2.99, had 2 beers then purchased an excellent Malbac for £14.99. Food high quality and excellent value. I always ask for my steak 1 below what I normally have as they always slightly over do. So the best result. The best Beefeater we have eaten in and been in a few. Security on the front helped smooth the flow into the restaurant.

I'M STARTING THIS REVIEW OFF BY SAYING THAT THE STAFF ARE PERFORMING MINOR MIRACLES TO SERVE CUSTOMERS GIVEN THEIR NUMBERS. I spoke with Manager Charlotte who was doubling up as a waitress with the one waitress who was trying to serve at least 8 to 10 tables simultaneously. There were minor problems. I ordered porridge but didn't get it and a long wait when asking for another coffee and actually getting it. Even paying for it at the end was a long time waiting, but to be fair to the staff, not their fault. The food quality is as you'd expect for a Beefeater, but due to COVID, each table had to order and be served individually rather than the traditional buffet so the the two lady staff members were rushing around trying to make sure people were fed. BEEFEATER STAFFING LEVELS ARE COMPLETELY LUDICROUS AND YOUR STAFF ARE GOING TO BE BURNT OUT VERY QUICKLY UNLESS YOU INCREASE THEIR NUMBERS. Well done Charlotte and your colleague. You maintained your service levels and sense of humour admirably.

We have just had a family meal at the Beefeater and it was one of the best meals we’ve had there thus far. From entering, the manager was very helpful and friendly. We were the only people in the restaurant for a while and we knew this as he was so attentive. A few things from the kids menu we wanted were not available but he dealt with this professionally and was very kind about it.Then there is Angela, our waitress.. what a credit to the company! Such a sweet, kind and very friendly. Angela spoke to my children and involved them in conversation, this made them feel very grown up and happy. Angela made our visit!

Visited this restaurant last Monday as a family of 5, our first visit back since COVID-19. On arrival we were greeted by the lady manager who asked us to sanitise our hands before entering the restaurant, she then began to explain the rules in place due to COVID-19. These were explained very well. They made us feel safe & our experience a little easier to understand. Our waitress was Tara, she was friendly, polite & very attentive to our needs. She never failed to help if we had a question or wanted to order more food/drinks. Our steaks were cooked perfect & the rest of the food was lovely. Well done chefs! The restaurant seemed to be quite busy, the bar maid was pouring & running drinks as well as helping get food out to tables fairly quickly. There was also another older lady working very hard. The atmosphere was relaxed & the team worked well together. I feel this made our experience even better. We will be revisiting very soon!

Cuando salió nuestra comida, nos sorprendió un poco el tamaño de las salchichas, eran más como mini chipolatas si hubiéramos sabido que podríamos haber pedido un par más con el desayuno, pero a pesar de que era todo lo que puedes comer, nos sentimos incómodos al preguntar. para más, La mesa de al lado ordenó la suya con morcilla y cuando salieron tenían el artículo en el desayuno mi esposo le dijo al mesero “Pensé que habías dicho que te habías agotado” a lo que él respondió “ya acabo de recibir una entrega ”, pero en cuestión de cinco minutos, el camarero no le ofreció ninguno a mi marido y se marchó. Gran servicio y buena comida. Llegué ayer con mi pareja alrededor de las 7 pm. Nos dieron una cálida bienvenida y nos informaron que la parrilla no funcionaba, por lo que se estaban ejecutando en un menú menor. Frustrante pero inevitable. Conseguimos nuestras bebidas rápidamente y la comida siguió poco después. Para empezar, tenía papas fritas y mi otra mitad tenía champiñones. De los 17 elementos del menú principal, fue una pena ver solo una opción vegetariana. Cuando preguntamos, ni siquiera nos pudieron dar una pasta de tomate para niños de tamaño grande, o una opción de ensalada. Faltaban precios en el menú de bebidas, ¿por qué había algunos y otros no? La bebida que pedimos no estaba disponible; teniendo en cuenta que todos los menús se tiraban a la basura después de su uso, alguien podría haberlo tachado o habérnoslo dicho antes de realizar el pedido. Los precios parecen haber subido, mientras que los niveles de personal parecen haber bajado. Nos preguntamos por qué la comida de bistec tiene patatas fritas ilimitadas, pero no la comida vegetariana. Pensamos que podría deberse a que las patatas fritas triple cocinadas no son vegetarianas, pero ambas comidas tenían exactamente las mismas patatas fritas. La ensalada con la comida vegetariana fue MUCHO mejor que la del bistec, ¿por qué son diferentes? La variedad de ensaladas fue suficiente para poder ofrecer una comida de ensaladera.Cuando terminamos nuestro plato principal nos preguntaron si había algo más que quisiéramos y respondimos “no en este momento gracias”. La camarera regresó rápidamente con la cuenta. Habíamos planeado tomar un café cuando terminamos nuestras bebidas, pero decidimos no hacerlo, ya que no nos sentimos bienvenidos.A pesar de las instrucciones de seguridad, se vio a varias personas apoyadas en la barra mientras ordenaban; esto no es seguro para el personal y alguien debería decir algo. Outstanding service by Lauren and Charlotte who tirelessly ran around looking after customers, ensuring Beefeater's reputation wasn't crippled. Unfortunately the chef, Pav, feels it necessary to bad mouth other members of staff in ear shot of a busy restaurant, on now two seperate occasions. Also his "prioritisation" of orders meant that we had to wait 1hour and 20minutes for ours. This needs addressing.

I'd like to start by saying management is absolutely shocking! We had gone for a meal here.. my boyfriend ordered the mixed grill to only find what looked to be a maggot or tapeworm egg inside the steak once cut. We sent back the steak to only find the 2nd bit had the same kind of maggot in the steak. The waitress we had was very apologetic, the manager did not even apologise once for the poor standard of food!!! He was actually very rude and tried telling us it was 'fat pieces 'within the steak. Because of this we as a group could not eat any of our food. The worse thing about this situation is the manager being in denial and not dealing very well with our complaint he ignored us after arguing that it was nothing like a maggot. No customer service skills what so ever! Feel sorry for the staff as the manager is not leading a very good example.

The postcode for this restaurant shown online takes you to another location further down the road. Depending on which way you’re coming from you don’t pass the Beefeater and as such we spent 15 minutes driving round in circles trying to find the place.Once arrived we were just in time for our booking but instead and to wait outside in a queue for 15 minutes along with the ‘walk-ins’ meaning that by the time we got into the restaurant it looked like we had arrived late!The explanations regarding covid guidelines and one-way system was excellent and the tables were well spaced out. Food wise, the menu has been reduced, but it is unfortunate that even with this reduced menu they cannot keep all options available. On our visit 4 of the 6 starters were unavailable whilst for the desserts there was no ice cream. So it ended up that we only had a main course. It would have been a help if the waitress had told us these items were unavailable before we looked at the menu, rather than when she came to take our orders.For the main course, although the waitress up sold us a full rack of ribs on the chicken and ribs meal, it arrived with only half a rack which were dry and not particularly appetising.Overall good Covid adaptions but food availability was poor.

I attended beefeater for a birthday meal last weekend, excellent service at the door a nice introduction and information about their COVID-19 requirements. When we were the seated the gentleman was very nice. We had a waitress I couldn’t tell you who she was only that she was a redhead because she didn’t introduce herself and she was very cold towards us. The barmaid brought us our drinks I can’t remember her name because it was quite obscure but she was lovely and bubbly. She also brought us our bill and wished us a lovely rest of our evening and for this reason I have rated beefeater a 4 if it wasn’t for the waitress I found quite rude it would’ve been a 5.

After finishing our main, we were offered desserts, we both had toffee puddings which were delicious. Will definitely be returning very soon

We visited the beefeater in reading for dinner and we were seated quickly and drinks order was taken when when we sat down and brought over straight away, we looked at the menu and decided our food to which our waiter came over and took our order without us having to wait or try to get someone’s attention. When our food came out it was well presented and tasted really nice. All In All our whole evening was a success so a big thank you to the team for all the great work.

Have been a few times and Beckie has looked after us, a fantastic ambassador for Beefeater, always smiling, remembers what we like but sadly the management let both her and us down. Not last night. Lee was seating guests then worked with the staff waiting tables. Everyone worked as a team. A first. The food was hot and our rib eye steaks were as ordered. A wonderful experience and hopefully this team will stay together. Cant wait to go again.Thanks for a chilled relaxed evening which was needed.

Stayed at the Premier Inn and as it was raining decided to try the Beefeater. Service was friendly but very slow. Food left a lot up be desired. Ordered the Double lobster Cheeseburger which was overcooked and somewhere in Reading there is a lobster running around missing a toenail!! The battered lobster was the size of a snail safety pin....with the batter. My wife had to send her fries back as they were cold. The crumble for dessert was ok. Wish we had gone to Burger King across the road and saved £30!!!

I had the pleasure of being served by Becky she was very attentive and even though they were out of the dish I wanted she recommended a tasty alternative.Very knowledgeable when it came to the menu. And in general was just a superstar really enjoyed my meal.I shall be returning.

Had a really lovely visit this evening. I come once a month and have not had bad meal or service yet. Natalie was my waitress and so helpful and funny. Little girl at bar was also very nice. Will come back.
