Beefeater Grill Paignton in Torbay

Been coming for years and it's slowly been going downhill. My roast dinner was awful, looked and tasted so dry, like it had been heated up to order. Everyone else's meals were slightly better (they didn't have a roast) Won't be going again!

Well where fo I start? Well on holiday down here for a week with my wife and 2 grandchildren. Thought we would try this restaurant as looked welcoming. Got seated and ordered drinks straight away and had go wait at least 15 mins to arive. I ordered beef & ale pie, my wife had a steak which should have been free as a 50 year promotion, 1st child had a steak and 2nd child had a pizza.. my pie was just short of disgusting, hard pastry and filling no where to be seen, looked like a child's portion. My wife's steak was like leather with gristle still attached. 1st child's steak was just the same and the 2nd child's pizza was just ok. We complained and she took off the pie but still charged for the promo steak. I have since contacted beefeater but as yet still no response. I will never use beefeater again,totally discusted.

Stayed at Premier inn which was very good. Breakfast eaten at Beefeater. Excellent service. Food fresh and hot. Premier inn and beefeater staff very good. No comparison to Tamworth beefeater where there was no service at all. Well done White rock.

We regularly visit beefeater restaurants but the new menu is probably what’s closing a lot of there venues down. Not everyone likes skin on fries and the chunky chips are like potatoe wedges that taste earthy. Horrible

We came here during the busy Bank Holiday Monday. Beside how busy it were,the gentleman by the door greeted us with a huge smile and get us a table for 3 within a few minutes.He offered us a quieter table a bit out of the crowed. I have ordered the steak witch was way overcooked at first, but Peter the restaurant manager offered a replacement meal and the second time was perfect.My wife ordered a Fish and Chips and that was defintely one of the best she had lately.Peter was very friendly and professional from the start of our arrival. Defintely will return and highly reccomend!

Party of 8 .Booked for my Husbands birthday.Went in a few days before to request a specific table ,which was agreed Got there on the day to find table reallocated When I questioned why we didn't get the agreed table ,I got told that the system rearranged it .The system is only as good as the person managing it ! Food and plates cold. Things missed and by the time we got the requested condiments ,the food was cold .Waited over an hour for food to arrive ,despite ordering promptly Thank God for the drinks waiter as he was the only one checking on us .This is our local ,we are not tourists ,so we are here all the time and visit when the tourists go home .Not a place I would recommend ,it's gone rapidly downhill since the management changed .

I was working away and was put in the premier inn next door. There was an issue with my food allowance being sent over, I need to mention Megan, she was ace she did everything she could to help me even though it wasn’t the beefeaters fault. Megan is a credit to beefeater and you should be so proud of her, she’s a credit to your business. The world needs more Megan’s.

Beefeater fayre must be familiar to all, but this evening was made special by efficient, friendly & caring service from our waitress. (Thank you, Emma!)

As usual the fillet steak here good and the service from Chloe excellent, helpful and diligent! We keep coming back here for the excellent food and service

I ordered the veggie lasagna which was served with a side salad and garlic bread, absolutely delicious and a huge portion. My husband ordered the mixed grill, huge, and he really enjoyed it. Steak, gammon steak, chicken breast, sausages,eggs, onion rings, peas, have I missed something? Probably as it was huge! For dessert we both went for the churros Sundae which had hidden brownie chunks in the layers of cream, chocolate sauce and ice cream. Again amazing. 10/10 for our food and 10/10 for our waitress Emma, she was attentive and funny too. Nothing was too much trouble and she’s definitely a credit to the team.

We had a family birthday dinner for my daughter here tonight and it was lovely! Emma was our server and she was very polite and friendly and nothing was too much trouble! The food was perfect too!

Great service from lovely staff. Nice atmosphere in the restaurant. Good selection of food on the menu. Nice mocktails!! In particular we thought Maddison was lovely. She took the time to chat to us where we found out ahead of time loves custard 🤣 Mad Maddie loves her custard, It’s much sweeter than hot mustard. She loves it on a beefeater brownie, If she doesn’t get it then she is frownie. Pour over her hot apple pie, And you will hear her happy sigh. Custard is definitely an essential food, Whether it’s yellow or pink it’s always good. Keep Maddison happy whether homemade or ‘Birds’, She’ll come back for seconds or even thirds !

We had breakfast every morning at this excellent restaurant as part of our stay in the adjacent Premier Inn. We cannot praise the manager, Nigel and his team enough. During our six breakfasts we were lucky (and I do mean that) to have been looked after not only by Nigel but by Saffron, Chloe and Agi. They kept the place running like clockwork even during the very busy bank holiday and pirate festival. This must have been extremely stressful but the customers would never know this as each member of this crew had a smile on their face and a friendly word for every guest throughout. The food choice was amazing and the quality and quantity of the food on offer never dwindled. Nothing was too much trouble and every question was met with a smile and a positive response. They even found time to have some pleasant conversation with customers despite the pressure. This team raised the experience from simply having a nice breakfast to having an excellent start to the day that not only reflected on the professionalism of the team but enhanced the entire stay at the Premier Inn hotel.

Absolutely shocking! Booked a table and sat there for 15 minutes waiting for a drink. In the end we got up and got our own at the bar. Nachos were terrible, really cold and for the price don’t bother! Didn’t even have the decency to take this off the bill. Music was ramped up when staff members (not on duty) came in for drinks in the bar. Seemed to be all about them. Have been here a number of times before, but after this evening we would never go back. For the money paid, it’s disgusting. Perhaps some support for your young staff might be in order.

I visited on my birthday as I had a voucher that entitled me to a free meal. Anything up to £20 the waitress said which was most things on the menu. I asked for a ribeye steak medium. It arrived along with my wifes meal and both looked good. My steak was cooked to perfection (medium rare) How I was expecting it. We both enjoyed the meal as well as a dessert and a btl of Savignon which we took half home due to me driving. Great service and a pleasant atmosphere. Thank you we will be back

Lovely restaurant with a nice vibe, all 3 courses were really tasty although my surf and turf was a really small portion with barely any veg considering the price. Food came out fresh & fast but unfortunately we had about 5 different servers and as a result of this we struggled to get someone's attention when we needed something, staff passing the table seemed to have blinkers on & one chap didn't seem to speak much English ( had to get a manager when we asked for extra chips and some peas) we weren't asked how our food was or if we wanted sauce so didn't manage to get ketchup at all. Shame that the service let them down, it's very rare I don't tip & this was one of those occasions.

I ate here last week whilst staying at the Premier Inn next door. I luckily booked a table which was a good job as the place was packed probably down to the school holidays. Food and service was good. The ribs were tasty and plenty of meat on them. All in all a good meal.

Stayed at the adjacent Premier Inn with the meal deal and ate here twice. The staff work so hard but were always polite and efficient The food was typical Beefeater fayre, hot, tasty and plentiful. You can’t beat a meal deal for value for money.

We visited for Easter Sunday lunch with 5 adults and 1 child. Despite advertising "Easter Sunday Lunch" this was just their standard Sunday lunch that happened to be served on Easter Sunday whereas we thought they might have a special menu on given the large ads. Anyway the food itself was very nice. It was just the service that let it down a little. For instance, two of us having Sunday lunch asked for extra sauces and when they came they were left at the opposite end of the table for us to pass along the line. The same with a drinks order. The mains arrived before the starter plates had been cleared, leaving us literally holding plates for them while they sorted the table. They also forgot one of our pudding orders.

Great service by Chloe, she was friendly and attentive. She made our dining experience a nice one. Food was lovely and a good atmospheres

Me and partner decided to go for an Easter treat, and we were not disappointed! We were greeted by the Restaurant Manager Daniel at the ‘host stand’ and what a lovely smiley young man he is. Despite it being one of the busiest nights I’ve seen the restaurant he had his team organised and made sure they were all doing everything to the best of their ability. Chloe our waitress and Maddison the young lady who brought out our food were also second to none despite the mountain of pressure they were under. Thank-you again to Daniel and his team for a wonderful evening!

Never have I experienced a more dreadful meal than this evening. Firstly, the table and chairs were dirty and stained as were the menus. VERY STICKY TO THE TOUCH. Secondly, the Fillet Steak was as tuff as Old boots . Sent it back only to be served with something similar. The whole experience was dreadful. NEVER AGAIN. LACK OF MANAGEMENT AND LEADERSHIP. GO ELSEWHERE!!!

We’ve travelled far and wide around this world, and we have to say Dolcie is the most attentive, happy, knowledgable, reactive/ proactive waitress we have ever had the pleasure of meeting! She definitely deserves 12/ 10!

We came for a lovely family meal. Dulcie our server was fantastic and made the whole experience a delight. Food was brilliant and prompt. Really attentive and would 100% recommend.

Had a lovely lunch with my partner as a late birthday treat. The meal was great and our waitress Dulcie was particularly polite, jolly and extremely helpful when I had some questions about our meal requirements, she went out of her way to awnser my questions.

My visit to the Beefeater was made very enjoyable by my server Dulcie, she was very hospitable and attentive to my table and apologetic when we had to wait a bit longer for my husbands food order to come out.

I get so mad when you see stupid reviews like “shocking experience” I have eaten her a few times when I visit Devon. I have never had a bad meal. The manager was chatting to me after he started there and I already saw such an improvement in service and cleanliness. He was really nice to talk to. It has got better and better. So the bad review said it was the waitresses first day. How can they complain she had no training if it was her first day. How do they train other than in a restaurant with people who are nice and supportive. Not idiots who get stroppy as probably one thing was wrong. The food does not deserve 1 point, the work by the management to improve cleanliness don’t deserve one point and at least the new waitress must have spoken to them for them to know it was her first day. I just hope they are perfect in all they do. Sorry I’m ranting but it just gets me mad when good people in hospitality work so hard and get no thanks. I will be back next visit to see family and I hope you still have the same team and great food

White rock beefeater is a great place to eat. We were sat at a table swiftly and our food and drink were taken right after, our waitress Maddison looked after us wonderfully and took very good care of us

Me and my family of 3 decided to come for a late Sunday dinner as we had been travelling all day, we were seated by Maddison and were looked after by the Restaurant Manager, Dan. Both Dan and his team couldn’t have done anymore for us, all the meals were cooked to nothing short of perfection. Topped off with amazing and friendly service made the whole experience 10/10. All I can say is i was very shocked with my whole experience...staying at Premier Inn for the night obviously we used the on sight restaurant beefeater...the hotel was nice and totally let down buy the restaurant.. The management team was more interested in giving people discounts rather than actually sorting out what's caused all the issue....poorly trained staff who we're amazing and trying to do what they could with the knowledge they had....totally not backed up by management and at one point was blamed by there manager for not being up to the job....the waitress was actually on her first day and under went no training I could see and just dropped in the deep end... Personal I've never seen such a shambles in all my life...far to many people seated for meals when you could obviously see they couldn't cope...
