Becws Melys in Gwynedd

Brilliant, as usual!! This is my favourite restauraunt and they have just opened for evenings. Please come spend your money here, you will not regret it. Everything is just 10/10

Really enjoyed lunch here, a little tucked out the way but well worth the visit. Staff are not that attentive but the good makes up for it.

If you're in need of a tasty sausage roll or pasty, a slice of delicious cake and great coffee, take the short walk from the Snowdon Mountain Railway to Becws Melyn. You won't be disappointed. Such an inviting cafe with friendly staff (the owner made it all the more welcoming with his 'announcements' of the customer orders-very funny). It was the best coffee we've had during our stay in North Wales. Great to see such an effort made-well done.

Being here a couple of times before and I have to say I was a little disappointed with this visit. The first thing I was struck with (and this has happened in every other visit), is that couple of the (young) staff (there was one blonde haired girl who just gave a miserable look when people came to choose a cake - for instance) didn't want to be there. However, apart the auburn/red hair women who was absolutely lovely! The place is very clean and the decor is fabulous! The wait for the food was very quick. However I ordered the 'Teryaki Salt and Pepper Loaded Chips' as a main meal and I have to say there was nothing 'salt and pepper' about it, it was just normal chips, sauce with beef. The quality of the ingredients is evident but there was too much sauce on the plate for a small rectangular plate and I did not really enjoy it. The portion was not worth the price that I paid (despite the ingredients). I am definitely a repeat customer as the cakes are delicious here, but taking into account (a couple) of the staff and the portion of their meals, I think I'm just going to stick to the cakes!

We ordered afternoon tea boxes for a work meeting, they were beyond our expectations. Fresh , tasty and lovely. Thank you we will be back again. Highly recommend

We chose here for our Christmas do and we're so glad we did. The venue was great, the staff really friendly & attentive and the food was superb. Croeso cynnes Cymraeg mewn lleoliad gwych gyda bwyd blasus a digon o ddiod. Be arall 'da chi isio! Diolch

This is a lovely busy friendly restaurant which i have visited several times and never been dissapointed. A party of 6 had our annual Christmas dinner last week and everything was spot on. Staff were friendly and attentive. Portions were huge with so many different veg choices to suit everyone. I had turkey which was lovely. Everyone of us were happy with the 2 course meals and i look forward to my next visit!

I recently had the pleasure of experiencing the best Christmas dinner at Melys. If I could give more than 5 stars I would. The roast beef was cooked to perfection achieving that delicate balance of tenderness and flavour. The sides were spectacular from the creamy potatoes to the roasted vegetables. Melys has set the bar high for Christmas dinners, and I recommend to anyone. Thank you for making my Christmas celebration truly special.

Visited multiple times, never been disappointed. The service from the staff is excellent, they are helpful, polite and efficient. They work through a large number of customers at peak times, and I've never had an incorrect order - and we often order for 10+ people on a work visit. The venue is very clean, warm and welcoming. The food is brilliantly presented, always hot and fresh. The cakes/desserts are to die for. 10/10.

I'm a regular at Melys and again on Sunday, lunch did not dissapoint, loaded chips with pigs in blankets, turkey, stuffing and grave was absolutely lovely. i'll be going to work Christmas party in December, can't wait

Visited melys on the evening of 24/11/23 with friends for the Christmas menu. The food was excellent, the atmosphere was warm and the staff were friendly. Will definitely return.

Had our xmas work party here, the place is very nice, the staff where very helpful and friendly. The food was amazing!

Visited last weekend with the family, including 2 babies. The young girls at the front were extremely helpful and helped me carry things to the table (pram). Ordered 2 breakfast which were absolutely delicious and reasonably priced! Definitely our new go to!

We had our Christmas party here on Saturday night as a group of 10. We had a 3 course meal. Everybody thought the food was amazing and perfectly presented. The staff were all friendly and helpful. We highly recommend having your party here and we will return again next year

Food not great, staff very dry, no bar staff, cold food, raw sausages, stuffing and sprouts which resulted in some of us being ill. Considering we all pre ordered, it was not what we expected. Gravy did not arrive until half way through the meal and they also forgot some desserts for the group

Came for Xmas work night out and food was not great, food wasn't cooked probably and staff were on thin ground. Would not recommend large gatherings to book here for food

The experience here was awful. I have never experienced such shocking food. We came as a large work group who had all pre-ordered and fully paid for our meal before hand! On arrival there wasn’t enough chairs for our group! We had to move another table to add on. There were 2 members of staff serving food and drinks -which is obviously not enough for the large group plus other tables still there. Moving on to the food, I ordered the garlic mushrooms on TOASTED sourdough and it came on bread. The texture was not something I or others particularly enjoyed. This also came out around 9.15-9.30 an hour after our booking. The main came out around 10.30 I ordered the turkey which was stone cold, I politely said to a member of staff mine was cold in which she just took the plate and brought it back 15 minutes later. The sprouts were RAW I think they just took them out of the bag and put them on our plate. The pigs in blanket was as white as anything, Didn’t even look like it had been cooked. The gravy managed to make it to the table around 15 minutes after serving. I was really looking forward to this meal and it was the biggest let down. I do not understand the logic in taking books for large groups if they cannot cater for such an event. There have been numerous complaints from different colleagues in which some even had a very bad stomach afterwards. So I will deffinately be avoiding this place

Went for a Christmas meal with work and the place was very cold. The staff we're not welcoming and service was very very poor (no one was asking if we wanted any drinks or how was the food etc). The food was slightly cold when arrived and there was not a lot of meat (turkey) on the plate. They also wanted full payment from everyone before the night; we were happy to pay deposit as it's expected for a large group. Overall not a pleasant experience!

Fabulous ! Great food. Plenty of choice. Fabulous staff. Always great vegetarian options. It never disappoints. Very glad it's now open on evening weekends. If you have a sweet tooth this might just be your heaven.....

Nice spacious cafe, all the tables were booked up. Order at the till area, staff should of said this on arrival, we sat for a while until they told us. Ham, eggs and homemade chips was lovely, the BBQ chicken fries was ok, the chicken...

As ever fabulous food. Thoroughly recommend the lasagna and lemon meringue! Homemade soup and venison burger also fabulous. Tasty and homemade. Arbennig diolch yn fawr

We have eaten here twice now the quality is fabulous . We both had welsh breakfast it was perfect. Lattes were spot on. Lovely to have such a little gem on our door step.

We'd seen the food on their Facebook page and were all desperate to try out the cheesecakes and cakes and were not disappointed. The portions were huge and incredibly tasty. Two of us had rocky road and two had cheesecake. We stopped by after 11am...

Excellent food, great service in a really nice part of town. Pork Tacos from the specials board were incredible… Good coffee and the cheesecake was insanely good (need a nap now)
