Lovely Pub with a warm fire and healthy food portions, perfect after a days hiking! 🥾

Just had the Philly Steak and the Chicken Waffle burger and they were both beautiful. Huge portions and well priced. I highly recommend. Just what you need after a walk up Snowdon.

Nice staff and decent hearty food after a hike. Was quite vibrant for a small village on a Friday and Saturday night. Only gripe was that two of the more interesting tap beers were off all weekend. I've got a bit sick of the others

Lovely village pub in a lovely village. There is plenty of tables and there is even a pool table in the pub. You would not be disappointed with the meals but make sure you haven’t eaten much at all as the portions are big, I struggled to finish my meals. I had a chicken burger one night and a curry with chips and rice the other night. Only had one pudding, which was the sticky toffee and that was tasty too! was such a shame I couldn’t try a different on the second night as I was full from the meal. I would recommend in stoping here for a meal!

Great 'local' atmosphere, with plenty of families and holidaymakers too. Traditional old pub, ales taste great and good quality massive portions. Warm and welcoming with open fires seemingly in all corners.

The best gammon egg and chips I've ever eaten!! Lamb rogan josh melted in the mouth! Portion sizes generous too and we were served really quickly! Very impressed... just what we needed after a 20km mountain hike... highly recommended!

Lovely pub in a beautiful spot. Friendly,welcoming staff and fabulous food! There's nothing worse than going out to eat to be served pretentious portions of mediocre food. The vaynol arms doesnt skimp on quality or portions when it comes to their food. I had the T bone steak. It was cooked perfectly! We will definitely be visiting again!

Cosy place with real fire. Welcoming and pleasant hostess. Great value Sunday roast. It has been served in heeps and a "Yorkshire pud" was most delicious ever. Tasty vegeterian sausages. We have taken half with us and also have fed a cheeky dog some leftover cooked carrots 😁🐶

Really lovely pub, great atmosphere, the dogs loved curling up in front of the open fire it was absolutely beautiful and the food was gorgeous !! Massive portions !! And they let us stay in car park free of charge in our little camper :) would definitely recommend

Great beer. Kitchen closed 45 mins early on Thursday night. Tried to book for the Saturday night and told walk-in only policy. Same thing happened on Saturday - kitchen closed. Had a great curry in caernarfon.

Fab little pub, just popped in to get some pub lunch after long walk up snowdon with my daughter, and I must say I wasn't disappointed, the food was out of this world, I had the mix grill, which trust me when I say it was large portion it was big, my daughter gad chicken burger and that was so tasty, complements to the sheff jeep up the good work.

It's all in my title really. Piping hot, huge portions of excellent pub grub - just the job if you've been up the hill and just the job if you're going. Excellent local beer too with friendly and efficient staff. Good old Vaynol, under new ownership for about a year now we were told and doing well. (PS, if you were here in the 80s you may recall the blackboard in the back room with 'Dr Death Topping Out on the Black Hole'. Sadly gone but the place has been made over very agreeably, so its time you went back!)

Beautiful countryside pub, popular with campers, walkers etc. Well kept ales. Didn't try the food, but it looked good. Dog friendly, and friendly, helpful staff.

The food here will exceed your expectations. Great menu, good pub food and good service. They had good bear and a good Chardonnay. Children's menu was good and there were vegetarian options.

Great value. Ate there twice whilst on a camping trip. Very good value, great food and good selection of beers. Would recommend.

Right down to earth. Birra Morretti AND Madri -what pub does 2 major lagers😍. We had steak and Ale pie (so tender) - so tasty. Hubby had the wings and full rack - he emptied the plate with a big smile and only bones left. The pub is opposite the campsite. Must come here again.

Fantastic food and a generous portion served here. Ample parking. Campervans can park overnight if a table is booked. A very good pint of Guinness is served here. I would definitely visit this place again. Highly recommended

What a welcome from the wind and rain after completing the 3 peaks in 29 hours!! The warmth both from the fire and the friendly staff (at one stage I had three staff looking after my drinks order) was just what was required. Thank you.

Excellent Sunday lunch - great value for money

Visited three times over our weekend trip to Snowdonia, everyone loved it! Great service, nice atmosphere and good prices too

After spending a few days in Snowdonia area, looking for local pub, to no avail, we came across this lovely pub. It was perfect, staff were friendly, local beers on tap and decent wine list. The menu was extensive, we had lasagne, which was definitely homemade and was one of the best we have ever had. A pleasant change from usual pub grub. I hope the current chef continues to produce such delicious food for many years to come. Would definitely return if in the area.

Went here for dinner whilst camping opposite. Note - it doesn’t open til 5pm! Definitely missing a trick in not serving breakfast…. There’s nowhere around to get a breakfast! Lots of different menus available, food was delicious & plentiful. Very reasonably priced. Nice selection of wines.

Don't want to give away the surprise but the Yorkshire puddings are out of this world. Lovely, dog friendly service and accomodating to our group's dietary requirements.

Best chips ever. Real potatoes, soft inside, crispy on the outside. Not greasy, not salty. Perfect.

Vaynol burger was absolutely massive, thought I was gonna have a stroke after I finished it. Rack of ribs were equally as big. Just what was needed after a long walk.

Great British pub grub. It’s not fine dining, the burger was one of the better ones I have eaten, why in this country are all burgers well done, if this had been medium rare it would have been spot on. I had the trio of lamb chops the next night, very good, good beer too( the golden dragon) a bit if a rarity in north wales is good beer. Pleasant staff too, hard working as the place was very busy

Nice place. Village before llanberis. Lots of midgies in June. Didn't eat there. Very Welsh speaking. Host and worker's nice!. I'm sure the food is great but just didn't feel like eating. Lovely place to camp and go up Snowdon via the park and ride and other mountains such as elidir fawr and the glyders

Just along the road from the Snowdon Railway we called in here for a bite to eat The loose top pies were filled with steak in a rich ale gravy with chips and peas The burger was well stacked A good selection of ales

Just popped in for a pint, wish we had stopped for food, as on our way back through Bethesda there was only a kabab shop offering food... so bear in mind if you're hungry.

We turned up here after climbing Snowdon, we randomly googled dog friendly pubs nearby and after reading the reviews decided to try. It did not disappoint, a warm welcome and exceptional food, highly recommend. I had the lasagne which was delicious and my husband decided to go for the Vaynol Burger, delicious but very big!!

Went for Sunday Lunch today WOW Amazing. Never had food like it, Portions were massive . Everything was home made. Had 2 thick slices of beef and 2 thick slices and turkey ( my choice ) and husband had the turkey. Again 4 thick big slices with a big portion of stuffing . Carrots cabbage broccoli and cauli cooked to perfection as was the creamy buttery mashed potatoes and the 5 ! roast potatoes and the Yorkshire Pudding ? Never have I seen one so big and risen like a small loaf. Beautiful gravy . All staff were bi lingual and so polite efficient and very friendly. All this was only £11.50. A gem and we have already booked for my husbands birthday next month. By far the best Sunday lunch we have ever had in all the eating places we have visited. Please book and you will definitely not be disappointed. Fantastic and top marks to you all, See you very soon

Giving it 5 because the Sunday roast was one the best if not the best roast I've ever had. So good.

Down to earth pub, food was very good, and very reasonably priced. Web site says it's open on Mondays - it isn't!

I'm so disappointed with this pub. Such a great location, very touristic area, mountain views and easy parking, yet the owners don't seem to try to make the most out of this pub. The car park takes priority over the outdoor area, with tables scattered randomly in between and close to cars, bins, rubbish bins and some in a poorly maintained garden. The inside is dark and the ladies toilet dirty with no toilet roll at all. I visited on Sunday afternoon and the pub was fairly empty, so no excuses for poor facilities. Would not be coming back nor would I recommend. Such a shame a waste for what could be a great place.

Wow!!! What a hidden gem this place is. After a full day climbing in Snowdonia we stumbled across this wonderful traditional pub. Friendly staff. (Nothing to much trouble) Great selection of ales and wine 👌🏽 (Save the best til last) FOOD…. Great menu , huge portions and tasty! Just what we needed after a busy day. Will definitely be back. Well done to the hosts… you’re doing an amazing job.

Staff friendly, food ok , my friend had pie and mash the mash looked like left over mash re-heated , huge portions, and we we're asked to leave at 9.30 they wanted to close the bar which was a bit disappointing .

We ate twice here recently as we were staying in the campsite opposite.They fitted 9 of us in last minute for food (rain ruined our bbq plans) and booked in the following night.The food is incredible!!large portions and very tasty.Some of the best pub food i have ever had!!Great beers too!

I made this reservation following the online link via the website. The pub had my name written in the diary and the amount of guests! Apparently my booking was not communicated! And this was my error! The blonde lady who said it wasn’t where she normally works was unhappy and had an unhelpful manner from the offset and ended the conversation with ‘I'm not going to stand here and argue the toss with you’ this isn’t the way you speak to someone. When we decided to go to another pub as we had been given 1 hour to look at the menu and eat before being kicked off the table the young dark hair girl clapped! And said she’s coming extremely childish. I can only imagine the blonde lady sets the tone for the other staff with her people skills that require work! Such a shame as this pub was recommended by the place we were staying! Although I’m glad we didn’t stay as the atmosphere wasn’t the best and the pub we went to was fantastic wonderful staff food and locals!

Lovely place to eat! We had the lasagne and the double burger. Bother were impressive portion and very tasty. Will be back again to tackle the mixed grill!

Very friendly, traditional pub that does substantial meals! Popped here after work for a meal with colleagues- all enjoyed our meals, I wonder if anyone has ever ordered off the dessert menu! 🤔😀

We were in the area on Saturday and ate here. The staff were friendy ( especially the blonde girl whizzing around with a frendly smile!) The manager Lee was helpful and polite too. The food was great plus good value (see pic) . We all would suggest a visit here if in the area , probably best to book on the weekend.,

Phenomenal local pub 👌🏼 Good variety of drinks for all tastes, roaring log fire and tasty food (massive portions so go easy)…..what not to love about this quaint little gem down the road from snowdon. 5 minute walk from either campsite so ideal for a little stopover whilst hitting the climbs 🗻

Lovely staff, nice setting and the food is totaly out of this world. Generous portion of home cooked fresh dishes. Plenty of choice on the menu and also specials to try out. Well worth a visit.

Really good pub. Nipped in for a pint after a walk and ended up stopping for the afternoon. Had Sunday lunch, which was amazing. Bus timetable out of date, so Lee (the landlord) gave us a lift back to our Campsite. Great team, great atmosphere and great beer. Brilliant..

Me and a few friends just came down from hiking over from Bethesda, up the mountain and down from the top of the slate mine. Walked in and they said they weren’t sure if they could do any food, as soon as the chef sore us, he knew we where in much need of a Sunday roast. And what a lovely Sunday roast it was! Very friendly staff and a good pub atmosphere, will defiantly visit again when back in the area.

I was shown to a roaring open fire after a long day walking in the mountains and helped to find a plug socket for my flat phone. I was soon served a hearty cannelloni with lashings of melted cheese and chips, which was perfect after a tough day of mountain walking. The staff were extremely friendly and keen to help out.

We were looking for a pub in Llanberis and came across the Vaynol Arms. We arrived just as they were opening but were welcomed in by the newish landlords Lee and Pauline. The food was fantastic pub grub with huge portions but it was the people that made it, the locals were so friendly we spent all evening chatting to them and Lee & Pauline. Will definitely go back.

Great place for a post mountain meal. Great choice of beers, friendly bar staff, and awesome food.

Popped in for lunch as they were one of the only places open in the area. The place was lovely and rustic with an open fire and the lady who ran the place was very friendly. Free parking behind too. The beer was poured well and one of the few places in the area I found Moretti on tap! The food was also good. The peri peri wings starter was lovely along with the garlic bread. The steak and ale pie main was the highlight for me and a lovely, warming meal. The only let down was the fish and chips. It was okay but the batter was oily and the chips were a little lacklustre. But overall a lovely place to stop when driving around this part of North Wales. If it wasn't for the fish and chips it would have been 5 stars!

Just climbed Snowdon and we were looking for a local pub with some good food and it didn't disappoint. I had the vegetarian cannelloni and my wife had the steak and ale pie, excellent food, great value and very good sized portions. Chuck in a log fire, a decent pint, friendly service and we were more than happy, well recommended.

Website says its open, Google says it is open, however no sign of life Monday or Tuesday. Please update your website so people do not have a wasted journey.

Because of our holiday we ate at the Vaynol arms in Nant Peris five days in a row. We enjoyed the meals. Nicely prepared and tastefull! In addition, a friendly service. Very interested and a personal approach! Great employees!

What a lovely pub! We had food here - the minced beef pie was exceptionally good! Desserts were a slight let down as the fudge cake wasn’t warm and the pudding was burnt/microwaved too long so the bottom was hard. Otherwise, the service was lovely...
