What a little gem this is, fantastic pastries, cakes etc Coffees and much more. I had a breakfast sourdough ciabatta with sausage and egg which I highly recommend. Staff very friendly and the there is a nice outside sitting area too. Reasonably priced for the quality food. Would definitely recommend if you’re visiting the area. Added bonus the lovely rivers walks are a minute away so you can walk that lovely breakfast etc off. Oops nearly forgot dog friendly too. Thanks for a lovely breakfast see you again soon.

The three stars are for the delightful young woman who served us. I overheard the remark from a table alongside us "I wonder how much you have to water the coffee down in order to get one that tastes like water - as this does" - says it all! Super staff... awful coffee.

The sun was shining but a cold easterly wind ripped down fen road. We wanted an ice cream so popped in for a cone and got out of the wind. Our server was a happy fellow and the ice cream was a good size for the priced paid. What a treat on a Wednesday.

We had never been to this Cafe before and so decided to give it a go. We were quite pleased with the refreshments and at a reasonable price. The seating was either inside or outdoors with access for everybody.

Small with a few outside tables however the Ice Cream is just lush and you can stroll along the quay looking at the boats especially when the sun is shining.

This cafe sits by the quay where owners boats are moored and hire boats moor up for a stay. They do snacks cakes and light lunches. The food we had was pleasant and well prepared. Just sit in the open with a cup of coffee it is really relaxing.

We used to enjoy coming here for a snack or ice cream whilst staying at the yacht station but no more. Whilst the coffee was ok the ice cream now comes in a variety of lurid colours, and my husband found his pasty inedible ( unheard of). The selection of cakes is not what it was and certainly nothing appealed to either of us.

After a nice walk to The Quay this is a gem of a place to enjoy a great coffee & "naughty" cake & watch the boats on the water.

We frequently buy snacks here when moored in the yacht station. It is only a small place but in addition to great ice cream and coffees has a huge, mouth-watering selection of cakes and pastries. Savoury snacks (pasties, sandwiches etc ) are available but choice is subject to availability. I have always found the staff extremely polite and friendly. We will continue to pop in regularly whenever we moor here.

Stopped here for an ice cream on a beautiful sunny Sunday afternoon. As well as ice cream there were quite a few snacks on offer that looked tasty. A nice well located cafe.

On a brisk but Sunny late March day this was a great little understated place to take a ponder by the Deben (I think) with a sit down and some refreshments. We had a hot chocolate, coffee and a couple of Danish pastries and lovely they were too. They seem to do ice creams as well and if you're waiting behing a group of teenage girls who want all the sprinkles and sugary bows you may have to wait a while as you watch how deep they actually put that ice cream in the cones, let me tell you, they're not scrimping. Good coffee, spot on hot chocolate and tasty Danish pastries. It can get busy as it looks popular.........even in March

Wanted some sandwiches but only offered ones already made and not what was on the menu. Plastic ham with no seasoning . Not good value for money. Very nice setting by the inlet from the river.

Coffee was OK from a machine as usual and expensive for what it was. We did not eat as sandwiches were overpriced. Pleasant aspect with seating overlooking the quay.

We were staying in Beccles for a family holiday, very close to the Quay. Popped in to the Quay Cafe for a cup of tea and a cake after an afternoon's walk. Service was friendly and efficient and drinks and food was fresh and tasty. We sat outside watching the world go by, a pleasant venue, we would happily recommend.

Lovely place for a good value , pleasant tea break during a riverside walk. The service was exceptionally pleasant and helpful. The café is the only place to get snacks within a half mile or so. The choice is limited but reasonable. There is indoor and outside seating and it is somewhere to rest after a long walk around the river and the quay side.

Set on the quayside this perfect little cafe provides everything you need after a stroll through the historic town of Beccles or a walk along the River Waveney. Sit watching the swans and boats as you sip your Americano or just spend an hour people watching as you eat one of their delicious ice creams. The ice creams are great value; large, creamy and in a waffle cone. What more could you want?

Stopping over in Diss for lunch on the way to the Suffolk coast, came across this cafe, looked inviting enough, with spaces inside. Coffee was very good - cappucchino and americano, and the New Yorker sandwich was wholesome tasty and very satisfying. Friendly service noted. Recommended!

I thought afternoon tea here would be something special to celebrate a birthday but unfortunately it wasn't. The table we were allocated was right next to the counter where people stood drinking, chatting and paying (I believe they might have been staff from the business centre). When I commented on this to a member of staff she said they would soon be gone, but then more came and stood there for some considerable time. The table was undecorated and the teapot and cups plain. One of the teaspoons was dirty and had to be replaced. There was nothing special about it whatsoever. It was just like being in a cafe which you go in for just a coffee. Not afternoon tea special at all. It was more expensive than many in the Norwich area so I thought the experience would be reflected in the price. But it clearly wasn't. The food was nice, nothing special, only 2 different filling in the sandwiches. The scones were good, the cakes ok, but again nothing special. The staff were busy but quite friendly. I would not recommend The Orangery for an afternoon tea experience. I came away feeling very let down and disappointed from what I thought was going to be an enjoyable afternoon.

I telephoned to check if dogs were welcome, and they were! We visited after a muddy trip to the woods. The staff were super accommodating and welcoming. The dog was provided with water and biscuits and we ordered the most delicious cakes, panini and hot chocolate. Unfortunately we did muddy up where we were sitting a bit but we were reassured this was absolutely not a problem. We will definitely be returning. Really lovely visit.
