Lovely Bistro in the clubhouse of the Beaufort Polo Club. It has a nice bar area, some comfy arm chairs and a restaurant area. Sally runs a tight ship and the menu has a tasty selection. The music has a South American guitar feel. The burger and cabonara were excellent as was the wine and Doombar. There is a lovely grass terrace too. Another fun place to go near Tetbury.

First visit to the new Bistro. The crab was lovely and well presented. Red Thai curry equally yummy. Definitely won't be the last visit.

Been coming here for years. Personally think it’s the best chip shop there is. Brilliant

We decided to give M&A a go as the reviews have been so good! We normally do takeaway for fish and chips so it was a nice change to eat in. Service was very good though I did see a customer spoken to in a very abrupt manner which was surprising and a bit uncomfortable to see and hear. We both went for the same basic cod and chips. It was good but not outstanding. To be fare it was all ok, it all seemed fresh but not a lot of taste. The batter was a bit thick for our liking. The chips and mushy peas were good. I like the spicy curry sauce especially and it was a generous portion. Like all restaurants the food quality can vary and based on this experience we would go back again. However If I was after a takeaway Watermoor CS is a lot cheaper and based on this first visit and our recent Watermoor CS experiences the batter was better, chips nicer and fish tastier and my pocket heavier as I left. If we wanted a sit down Fish and Chips when we are in town we will give it another go. Star wise I would give it 3.5 based on the price if I could and the awkwardness with the other customer. 3 does not seem fair so it’s a 4. On the plus side it is definitely better than the Friar Tuck. Based on this experience pole position goes to Watermoor CS for Fish and Chips takeaway in this locality.

I am a firm believer of supporting your local businesses and having been twice - the first visit I skipped the fish and chips and went for Pie and Chips with a gravy - no faults really and they are pukka pies so you can’t argue. The second visit I went fish and chips with a mushy peas. The peas were fine - most probably bachelors (no issue there), however as it’s a fish and chip shop you have to try the fish and chips - the chips are okay nothing special however definitely not frozen ones which is good. The fish however wasn’t freshly cooked and was sitting waiting in the warming bin, the fish was also grainy and had a subtle smell which I knew it wasn’t fresh - it was eatable however I didn’t enjoy it, the batter was awful and greasy aswell. I know a lot of Cirencester raves about this place however sorry I don’t agree it’s overrated and I would actually say it’s not very good value either. Having tried your competition I would say the Friar Tuck is better, I haven’t tried Seafare so can’t comment on them. Apologies to write a bad review however in this day and age you have to be on the top of your game, and the only fish and chip shop in Cirencester offering the best quality is the Malt and Anchor.

I asked for a haddock and chips, the haddock was enormous! And all for £9.60. This was probably the best fish and chips I have ever eaten. Well done all, we will be back!
