Cycling from Land's End to John O'Groats we spontaneously popped into this pub for a quick drink. Having already covered 120km that day we were keen to hydrate and watch 15 mins of the England Quarter Final against Switzerland before continuing on the remaining 60km to Bewdley. Perhaps it was fate that drew us in there but what followed we will never forget for the rest of our lives. After getting the jokes about the Tour de France passing through Dymock out of the way, the locals immediately engaged with us and could not have been more friendly and welcoming. This is a quintessentially British pub in beautiful countryside complete with a stunning little beer garden, but what makes it so special are the amazing patrons who frequent this absolute gem. As the UK's longest running pub under community ownership (saved from closure in 1997 by the Parish council) it truly has a unique atmosphere, but our 15 minute pit stop turned into 3 hours that was definitely one of the highlights of our 10 day tour from Cornwall to Scotland. We drank, we laughed, we cried, we had a few too many beers and didn't want to leave, but England had won on penalties and we were running out of daylight. A huge thank you to everyone we met, for your incredibly generous whip round for Mind (our chosen charity), and for the emotional goodbye you gave us. As promised we will be back, although next time not on bikes but with overnight accommodation booked locally! Cliff & Kev x

Not what it used to be - items on the menu seem to be 'gilded' so as to justify higher prices. As to drinks in a village pub it seems odd that the emphasis seems to be more on gins than ales, though that could be just me!

The Beauchamp Arms should be voted the most friendliest pub in the UK. The Sunday lunch was superb ,crisp roast potatoes. A large selection of vegetables and an enormous Yorkshire pudding top with beefy gravy. A local folk group playing their accordion’s. This is a friendly village pub that is actually owned by the village! We stopped by half-way round doing our annual the daffodil walk on Easter Sunday. We arrived just before 12.30 as people were coming in for their Sunday roast. We asked for a sandwich and were told it was either beef or pork-we assumed that these were the roasts. We both had beef which was very generously-sliced, succulent and delicious. Sandwiches are nicely presented on plates and sauces, etc were offered. There is a good selection of beers (some local) and a couple of ciders. As I was driving I had a coffee. There are outdoor tables in front of the pub as well as a beer garden behind. This is an idyllic English village pub with the village green adjacent and the church just behind with plenty of free parking either directly in front of the pub, on the road or in the grass field opposite-no problem.

Having had several very good mid week meals recently, we went for lunch on Sunday and had the most wonderful meal. The roast beef was really good, tender, slightly pink and full of flavour. This was accompanied by severn or eight nice fresh vegetables and a jug of extra gravy. All served on hot plates and dishes by very friendly and polite staff. This was followed by delicious puddings. If we had any slight niggles it would be to wish for sharper knives as those supplied were really well used and rather blunt. All in all we were most pleased with the meal and will definitely become regulars.

4 of us had an excellent Sunday lunch here. It is a typical old English country pub, with low is ceilings, fires etc. The pub was busy when we arrived, I’d definitely book a table. The staff were friendly and the pub has a nice feel. We all had roast dinners, Turkey/Beef. They were all really well cooked. With proper crispy roast roast potatoes, the meat on a bed of red cabbage, with a parsnip and Yorkshire pudding. Then came the separate veg bowls. Peas, carrots, cabbage, mashed swede, broccoli and cauliflower cheese and the biggest jug of gravy I’ve ever seen! It was all cooked perfectly, but try as we might, we couldn’t finish all the veg 🙁. the beer was also well kept, which topped off a great meal for an extremely reasonable price. We’ll definitely come back, ever though it will be a detour to get here, it will definitely be worth it!

Arranged to meet two other friends when I was driving back to Cheltenham after taking a Greek friend to Wales and Dymock was the most convenient place to meet. However we had done the same 3 years ago and we all enjoyed the atmosphere of the Beuchamp Arms at that time and wanted to go back again. We found it still as friendly and welcoming and the atmosphere is quite unique for someone from Greece. Two of us had faggots once again and they were as good if not even better than the last time we had t them and two of the party had steak and ale pies which they thought were declicious.A nice relaxing few hours and we had some banter with a couple of people from Dymock and their friend which made us all very happy. Thanks to the friendly waitress and bar staff. We visit Dymock once or twice a year and we always stop at this pub. We usually enjoy the daffodil walk in March/April and start in Kempley so that the pub is about half way round. This is a traditional village pub with the village hall next door as are the village green and the church. There is outdoor seating and parking out front overlooking the road as well as a beer garden behind the pub. When we arrived this year it was the Dymock Daffodil Weekend so there were stalls, etc in the village hall and plenty going on. We enjoyed a coffee and cider in the pub. There is plenty of parking in a field over the road from the pub too. We have never had a meal here but looking at the menu there should be something for everyone. Please check the pub's opening times on its website before you visit.

A good little pub. They were busy with walkers but handled everyone well. The faggots, made by the Landlord, who used to be a butcher, were the best I have experienced. My only 'gripe' is the chips served with the faggots were not up to much, and a good mashed potato would have been a better and more appropriate accompaniment. Lovely atmosphere during our visit and excellent well kept beer.

Its description of a 'village pub that serves food rather than a country restaurant that serves beer' is exactly what this engaging pub is. Owned by the Parish Council the Beauchamp Arms is rare indeed; a village pub that is still the centre of the community yet one that welcomes the many visitors to the area. We stopped by one cold lunchtime in March having made a tour of the daffodil woods and fields that abound in the vicinity of Dymock. Our party of three just opted for a main meal. John's secret recipe faggots lived up to their name but were let down a bit by the frozen chips and peas that accompanied them. A nice creamy mash to soak up the juices would have been preferable. My wife opted for one of John's delicious steak pies which again was good but also let down by the chips and peas. My father-in-law though got it wrong He chose the mixed seafood platter (I think that was how it was described on the menu) which was much more bread than seafood and what seafood there was was obviously poured out from a commercial bag What there was was tasty it was just that there wasn't much there. Prices though are extremely reasonable and perhaps prices could go up a bit to smarten up the rather shabby decor and seats.Excellent range of local beers on offer and service and welcome was excellent. Fine dining this pub isn't but good local pub food it is.

There was a good range of reasonably priced meals which were freshly cooked to order. The ale was excellent, and we enjoyed our breaded plaice which came with really good chips, perfectly cooked. This was well served with a small green salad and peas and it all tasted deliciousThe Daffodil Way is part of the 'Golden Triangle' made up of three villages - Dymock, Kempley and Oxenhall - beautifully produced walk guides are available in the churches where coffees and teas are served by local volunteers. 2017 has been an excellent year for the daffodils because of the warm spring weather. The whole day was a delight and I recommend the lunch, walk and refreshing tea in St. Mary's Church, Dymock as a very happy and memorable day out.

We visited as a highlight to our 10 mile Daffodil Walk. We were looking forward to visiting this parish owned place as we had heard about the village ownership of this little pub. Reviews suggest that this is a good place for food... we were saddened to experience really lack lustre over-priced fare. I had the cheddar ploughmans lunch: huge slab of tasteless rubbery cheese that had no resemblance to a good cheddar served on a limp and unimpressive salad of iceberg lettuce 3 slices of tomato, some red onion and cucumber. The addition of pickle and slices of bread did nothing to elevate this sad plate of food and at almost £9 I felt robbed! My partner had the faggots and chips: the verdict, the faggots were tasty but only two of them served with chips which were horrible mass catering fried frozen thick cut...The beer was mediocre, not kept well, or served out of unclean pipes... urgh! We will not be back

As a CAMRA member it’s great to see the framed plaque by the fireplace proclaiming that the villagers of Dymock became the owners of the pub on 9th June 1997 when they bought it to ensure it’s continuance as a drinking and eating establishment.I’ve never visited this pub and found it empty; it’s always got masses of people drinking and enjoying the excellent freshly cooked food. John, the ex-Butcher behind the bar makes some fantastic faggots to as Black Country recipe and the day we visited he’d just done as lemon meringue pie, the portions of which were as large as the iceberg that sank the Titanic! And the slice (with ice cream) we shared went down just a quickly. We always visit around the 2nd to 4th week of March to see the wonderful display of wild daffodils in the area, usually doing the 8 mile Poets’ Path 1 as a circular from Redmarley D’Abitot. You could park and walk from Dymock but then you wouldn’t have a pub to stop in at lunchtime!

My Drama group from Cardiff were last here 16/11/15 (see great review) and they say never go back after a great experience. But we did last Sunday after finding the excuse as proud Welsh people to come out of Wales to Dymock to see the wonderful display across the fields and hedgerows of wild daffodils. The locals thought it very strange leaving Wales to see daffodils! But we really came for the food and warmth of hospitality in this wonderful village pub who's motto is " A good village pub that serves good food rather than a country restaurant that also does beer".As last time we had a wonderful Sunday lunch Beef, pork and beef and pork combined, gee the pork was nice and super stuffing, also great variety of veg, piping hot and with loads of flavour and at £8.95 great value.Puddings at £4 - ladies said these were wonderful and two great real ales on tap for the boys. Wonderful service and atmosphere - oh we wish it was closer to |Cardiff. To Linda and her great team many thanks and we hope to come again one day!

This is a well patronised inn with a generally welcoming ambiance. The young lady serving at the bar was friendly, courteous, and knowledgeable about food allergies. The ham, egg and chips served to us was faultless. The chips, chunky and crisp, the eggs fried lightly with the yolks still soft, and the hand sliced ham, thick, lean, tender and plentiful - a proper lunchtime repast! Yet another pub we have visited that could well be used as a bench mark for many far more pretentious establishments that fall well below the mark. Well done the Beauchamp Arms!

Visited specifically to try the Faggots and it was well worth the effort. All the meals from the menu were very good but the Faggots were exceptional. We will definitely be stopping here again on the journey from Gloucester to Hereford. Everything about the experience leads me to recommend the Beauchamp, excellent food, great beer and first class service.

Had an excellent meal in this pub last night. Proper home cooking - I had steak pie and chips, couldn't fault it. Then the pudding board arrived..... Apple pie and plenty of custard - excellent again.Prices are reasonable, service was friendly and attentive, even though 20 of us descended on the pub at the same time.A proper village pub.

Travelling from Somerset to Shropshire we happened upon this fine pub. Our Beagle was welcomed and even given a little ham! She wants to return..Only had coffee/tea but it was provided efficiently and both staff and patrons were kind and welcoming.Exceptionally this pub is owned by the community having been brought by the Parish Council - an idea more villages could follow if they can be this successful.

Stopping a few miles away so thought would give it a try. Warm welcome from the landlord got our drinks and menus. Varied choice of your typical pub food and all very reasonably priced with a further few options on the specials board. My wife went for the steak pie and I a sirloin, both arrived piping hot and nicely presented, not sure it's a southern thing but frozen chips again, doesn't anybody in this part of the country make homemade chips ? Is it only Yorkshire ? My wife had Treacle sponge with custard which she said was very nice. Only other criticism tables needed a good clean very sticky. Would we go again yes, nice pub serving well priced traditional Pub Grub

We attend a wedding at Dymock Church as we were hired to take a Bride and her Father to the Church with our shire horses and whilst waiting for the wedding to take place we thought that we would have a well earned drink on a very hot day as we were waiting outside the Beauchamp Arms.Although the pub was closed the landlady still offered to open up and serve us our well earned pint ! this we thought was being very helpful and giving a very good service as nothing seemed to be too much trouble for the landlady or the staff .I am hoping to visit again very soon as I would strongly recommend any one to take a visit. I have since heard that the food is good too not forgetting the lovely show of hanging baskets outside the pub. Thank you for your kindness .

A village owned pub, managed by a very friendly couple and their staff. We went to the BA on the recommendation of the cottage owners where we were staying. Trad Sunday lunch is the only choice, but the place is packed out and local and not so local people regularly travel there for lunch on Sundays. The food was very homely, the company extremely friendly and staff extremely helpful. If you enjoy a trad lunch ensure you book - non bookers often turned away, no room!

We called by on Wednesday evening and decided after a drink to partake in an evening meal. It was lovely to see a busy village pub, that's obviously support well by the locals. The pub area is full of character and has a lovely beamed bar area. For myself I ordered homemade faggots and my husband had one of the steak pies. I cannot fault the food and service. The chips were crispy with a lovely fluffy inside. The pub was extremely busy by mid evening, but the staff service was faultless. We will definitely return in the very near future.

On the evening of saturday 9th july we came across this wonderful little pub. We arrived after 9pm but the owners were more than happy to keep the kitchen open and serve us. We ordered a gammon steak with free range eggs and a ham salad. The meals arrived without delay and they were wonderfully presented. The gammon and ham both tasted beautiful and the homemade fresh bread was some of the best i've ever had. Well worth a visit and thank you to the two wonderful young waitresses who looked after us.

We have passed this inn several times, there are always plenty of cars parked outside and across the road,as parking is a bit of a problem. My husband suggested we called in sometime for a meal as it seemed a popular place. We checked the webb site which shows the inn provides local produce, genuine homecooking, and flavoursome, wholesome food.We read the reviews which overall give a good impression of the place. So on Tuesday 19/7/16 we went for our evening meal, arriving about 6.50pm.There is a very small dining area next to the bar,and also a garden area which we did not see.The bar was busy and obviously full of locals, there were 3 other people besides ourselves in the dining area, but later more diners arrived.I ordered prawn cocktail and chicken diane,my husband ordered garlic mushrooms in cream sauce, and Johns delicious steak pie.Quite a time lapsed before we were served which we thought indicated the food was all cooked to order, which was a good sign.Very Sorry we were very disappointed when the order arrived Prawn cocktail was on a fresh lettuce base with 2 wedges of tomato and cucumder, but the "prawns" were disgusting, they were like shrimps and appear to have been defrosted in a micro wave, which produced a mushy lump which was tasteless, and there was no sign of a sauce.Garlic mushrooms a few slices swimming in a soup like sauce which was impossible to eat with knife and fork supplied. The only good part was the fresh brown bread on both starters. By this time we realised we had made a serious mistake but too late.Chicken served with nice fresh small salad, and frozen chips, the chicken was luke warm and dry, covered in a strong salty diane?sauce.Sorry not to my liking and left the food.My husbands pie was served with frozen chips and peas, but the pie crust was so hard he had to "hack"into it to get to the meat underneath which he said was reasonable. My hushand commented if he had eaten any of the pastry he would have been taking a well known indigestion liquid for a month. The waitress asked if everything had been okay,I said it had been terrible, but that was obvious from the amount of uneaten food.We deceided to just leave and were very disappointed in the whole meal.Lager and beer okay.We consider the webb site gives a totally false impression, the food may be cooked on the premises but frozen food is not our idea of genuine homecooking. Also it was neither flavoursome or wholesome.£30 plus was not cheap.I said It must be us in the title as we expected much more from this visit in view of webb site and previous reviews, perhaps we went on a bad night?????

Can't recommend Sunday lunch at the Beauchamp Arms highly enough. We were given the choice of beef, pork or a mixture of both. Very generous portions served with plenty of fresh vegetables and all the trimmings. Absolutely delicious, genuinely home cooked food and very good value for money. Great choice of puddings too and the service was excellent. Can't wait for our next visit!

Called here whilst doing The Daffodil Drive, which is an incredible experience. Have never before seen carpets of daffodils!Warmly welcomed and given menus to choose from as well as two specials. We were spoiled for choice and it was hard to make a final choice. Both had steak pies. These were very big and an example of good home cooking. Do ask for a spoon to eat up all the delicious thick gravy. The steak was tender and plenty of it. Again it was hard to decide which dessert to choose from many favourites. Good lemon cheesecake and creamy ice cream. Would definitely visit again if in the area. Village owns the pub and it is, as they say, a pub that serves food and not a restaurant that serves beer. Probably what many of us are looking for. All staff very pleasant and welcoming.

This pub is owned by the local village, but run by Linda and John Griffiths. They have an achievable menu full of tasty dishes. Home made fish pie, home made secret recipe faggots, lasagnes, succulent home cooked ham eggs and chips. What's not to like. A hearty log fire, warm and friendly decor. Helpful and friendly staff . An unusually good Sunday roast every week. Do try the home baked Lemon meringue pie, you will need to be quick. It's very popular. Good beers and wines too. The heart and soul of a dynamic village .

I arrived in the dark on my own after problems with my car. A light on the dashboard hadsuddenly glowed red and a notice read 'ENGINE HIGH TEMPERATURE' ... i was on a narrow road in the dark and thought the engine was about to blow up !By the time I reached the BEAUCHAMP ARMS pub which I had never before visited, I was quite frightened. The very kind, friendly landlord, John, was just brilliant ... `he helped to solve the problem and was so reassuring ... so were all the visiting guests ... it really is "the friendliest pub in England" and we stayed to eat delicious food! Thank you !

It’s a shame that the staff are the rudest people in the town. They lie, make excuses and are incredibly rude. It’s a shame because this used to be the best fish and chip shop in the area but even their delivery staff say that it’s unhygienic to deliver and someone had food poisoning (according to their own delivery man who I have recorded on the door cam!)

If you want perfection this is not the place for you... However, that said, we spent a lovely couple of nights, in a 12th century Inn. Adam and his team are lovely, friendly and more than helpful. The hot water in the room seemed a bit hit and miss but the room was clean and comfortable. On the whole we were made to feel very welcome and really enjoyed our visit. Thanks guys 😊
