Waited 20 minutes before going in to ask where our food was as was quite busy so thought we might have a little wait. I was told my order hadn’t gone through even though paid for. We had to wait another 5 minutes before we got our food and that was because I explained that we would be late for the show if we did not get it. Although the adults food was very nice it wasn’t enjoyable due to having to rush it with getting it late, I wouldn’t have minded but we had given ourselves plenty of time to eat or so we thought! We ordered a Peter Rabbit Picnic Basket for my grand daughter and were very disappointed as we chose the crisps, drink and cup cake from the counter and her cheese sandwich just came on a plate, expected more from the advertised picnic basket even if it only came in a Peter Rabbit box! Our experience wasn’t a good one and won’t be repeated as just a sorry wasn’t really good enough to lessen our supposedly relaxed lunch experience before the show.

We came here for lunch whilst visiting the Beatrix Potter attraction. I ordered at the counter and one of the items was off the specials board. After i'd paid and returned to my seat a lady came over to explain that special was from last week and some one hadn't altered the board so we'd have to order something else. We ordered something else but as she turned to leave we said that this was cheaper so we'd need a refund. She said she'd do the refund after and went back into the kitchen. I'd have rather they'd processed the refund there and then as it was on our minds the whole time we were eating but they did actually do it before we left. The food was nice and the prices were reasonable considering it is inside a tourist attraction.

Loved this cute little place before we went into The world of BP. The panini's were excellent. We paid for two afternoon teas separately so the kids could each enjoy a tiered tray to themselves, but they still brought out only one tray. So they refunded us the extra we paid which we appreciated. I however did not appreciate hearing the kitchen staff yelling angrily at the young wait staff. Hopefully it was just a one off, as this is a yummy place to eat.

We had been pottering around Beatrix Potter world with the kids and decided that the cafe would be a great option for the kids to grab a sandwich. They all decided on ham sandwiches (we didn’t tell them jam was on offer!). The selection of other items in the picnic basket was good. However when the sandwiches arrived, the kids (3 and 4 years old) could not eat them as they were prosciutto. This is the wrong type of ham to be serving to young children. I’m not sure if they were out of their usual ham but we would have changed to cheese had we known. It’s worth checking with them before ordering this for young children.

This small cafe, part of the Beatrix Potter attraction, has a very limited soup and sandwich menu, but it was very good value, the food was really fresh, good quality and home-made. The young staff were very helpful and friendly. The manager, without being asked, suggested to a young server that he carry my tray to our table, although it was self service, and later the same guy appeared with a bowl of water for our dogs.

Family of five. Visited here for afternoon tea as thought it would be fun and novel for the children before heading into the attraction. Staff very friendly and helpful. I can honestly say it is the best cream tea we have ever had. Sandwiches clearly fresh on lovely artisan bread. Cakes so light and tasty and scones equally delicious. Refilled our tea pots without any question. Children can select juice with their afternoon tea or bottle water. Honestly can not fault it. We all enjoyed and would highly recommend.

we popped in this morning for a coffee, we were the only people in the cafe at that time, we asked for scones - none available, we sat down started drinking tea and the scones were brought out to the counter so we went back for scones, but the four members of staff were too busy to serve us, chatting, sorting out the coffee machine. Really disappointed in the service received. The staff everywhere else at the attraction were fantastic.

Were staying in area for new year with young kids at 2 and 5 so decided to visit world of beatrix potter. We ate in the tearoom for lunch. It was busy and food took a while. I would agree with other reviews its a bit drafty in tea room. The kids deal was ok value for their sandwhich and 2 items and a juice for £5 but afternoon tea was bit oberpriced and nothing great. There is plenty of other cafes in this area so was nothing special unfortunately. They did have peter rabbit hats the kids could colour in while waiting for lunch.

Visited here after looking around the museum but we were disappointed. My husband and I ordered the afternoon tea to share and the bread and cakes were dry. The tea room was very cold and it didn’t matter where you sat there was a draft from the museum door. It would be a good idea to close off the tea room so that it is separate from the queuing people looking through and draughts.

We visited in mid August and found the food to be bland and overpriced . There weren’t enough tables and the staff, although very nice, didn’t seem to be able to deal efficiently with the queue and clearing tables. The cafe area was overcrowded with lots of people pushing past (very little space between tables). The Peter rabbit musical show was brilliant, our 2 and 5 year old boys loved it, I would definitely recommend that. The exhibition itself wasn’t really worth doing as just a walk around a few nice scenes but with it being so busy we were hurried along and it only took 5-10 minutes. Brockhole and the Bowness cruise/steamtrain are good things to do with the kids.

We booked lunch with Peter Rabbit and I have to say, this was a great experience for our two children. We had a table with sandwiches, cakes and drinks. The room was done out all christmassy with about 20 Christmas trees. Peter Rabbit was there so the children could have their picture taken with him. There was a present for each child which was a boom and scribble pad. Beatrix Potter was there (not the real one) to sign the books for the kids. The ticket includes entry to the museum too.All in all a great experience and well worth doing if you're in Windermere.

Quite pricy. This is definitely for younger kids and esp those who love the books. Food was okay to good, not great. Service was good. Beautifully decorated with tea cups and teapots and sculptures similar to those in the exhibition. We ordered sandwiches for ourselves and granddaughter. Sandwiches are made to order and ours were all very good. Service was prompt with our granddaughter being served first which was a nice touch as children can get grumpy if they are kept waiting. The only downside was the state of the floor. This isn't the fault if the tearoom but of the people eating there. Why can't people clear up after themselves and/or their children. I'm sure they wouldn't allow such mess in their own homes. Staff were cleaning the floor when they were able but it was busy. Shame as it does detract from the overall ambience.

We decided to take our toddler to the musuem on our anniversary visit to Windermere and had high tea in the cafe first. For high tea for two and a childrens meal it came to over £24 which would have been fine but it was very underwhelming when it arrived. The biggest bug bear we have is that we got a plain lemon cake sliced in half and a chocolate cake sliced in half whereas we noticed they had given two ladies a strawberry sundae tart, 2x millionaires slices and a cupcake. Preferential treatment over one customer to another when they are paying the same money shouldn't happen openly in front of other customers as it just isn't fair.No issue with the staff but more effort has to be made to make the tearoom as a high standard as the musuem itself.

Reasonably priced cream tea in a lovely setting. Plenty of tea in the pot to allow two cups. Really enjoyable.

This is our go to place for tea when in town. The cakes and tea are consistently good and they have a lot of options for children. It can be a bit busy and noisy but then it's full of kids so it's to be expected.

We only wanted a coffee and a cake as it was only 11.15 AM but had to queue for 20 minutes behind people ordering hot food and spending ages deciding what they wanted at the last minute Nice stuff but it needs organising a lot better Guess as its volunteer run it depends very much on what the staffing is on the day They need a separate area for those just having coffee etc rather than a meal

Lovely setting to relax and enjoy the views having lunch or just a drink. A few had lunch said was nice. Me personally thought expensive for soup but enjoyed my coffee. Worth it for the views.

Tried the drive thru...waited and waited was nobody home?, Was it closed? Reversed out and entered the shop and waited at the counter and waited and waited....3 or 4 staff just chatting away oblivious to customers. 17:00 pm on Saturday. Outstanding service.

Good location, pleasant staff but expensive for poor quality coffee and stale cake. Was offered a refund on the cake which I declined.
