Visited the bear and staff for Sunday lunch food was good apart from the crackling on the pork was like eating a rock service was lovely Owen really went above and beyond dealing with all our sauce requests and are constant Diet Coke orders 😂😅 with a smile on his face will definitely be returning

Elegimos el oso y el personal para que pudiéramos comer en familia - queríamos la opción de tener comida tradicional, así como opciones más modernas. El personal era muy acogedor y nada era demasiado problema. Muy contento con nuestra comida - tuvimos salchicha y puré, bistec pastel y puré, gammon y patatas fritas, y dos hamburguesas de autor. Menú de vinos también muy bueno, y zumo fresco. La mejor comida que hemos tenido en siglos, y un ambiente encantador. Gracias al personal - volveremos.

La comida era de primera clase, el servicio era amable y la comida llegó bastante a tiempo. éramos 8 de nosotros y recibimos nuestra comida de nuevo a tiempo, nadie esperó mientras otros estaban comiendo. El pub es un ambiente agradable y relajante. Esperamos con interés nuestra próxima visita

Had a lovely lunch. Service, friendliness and professionalism of staff was wonderful. My only regret is that I didn’t tip when paint on my banking app as I didn’t think that would go directly to staff, and sadly we didn’t have cash on us. Well done guys !

We brought my mum and auntie for lunch. Nice surroundings & it’s a nice spacious place so unless really busy there’s a good choice of seating. There was a good choice of meals on the menu. The food was really nice & hot & the service was nice & friendly. I’m not veggie but had the veggie tart & it was really nice. Others had the chicken breast which was also lovely. Would definitely visit again.

If the Abbey, the Black Bull and the Bear and Staff had a fight for food supremacy in a Royal Rumble style contest, then the Bear and Staff would win hands down. Its food is top quality, with a few revolving specials and seasonal menus. The atmosphere is cosy and welcoming and the service is not bad.

Bear & Staff is one of our locals- the food is always excellent and the staff very attentive and friendly, good range of drinks and draught and cask beers. Relaxed, chilled atmosphere and always a good vintage rock’n’roll tinged playlist.

Been going to the Bear & Staff for years and always had an enjoyable meal. Not today. My wife had the Vegetable Grill which was undercooked and sent back. Fish & chips was overcooked and looked like it had been reheated. Price has rocketed up too. I know prices have gone up everywhere but these have shot up. An unpleasant experience!

I ordered the slow cooked beef pie. Hardly any meat and most of meat that was in pie was tough. Certainly not slow cooked. The fish was supposed to be cod but tasted like haddock. The ice cream sundae was lovely and service was excellent but I have been there a few times over the years. I won’t go again due to quality of the food.

Great place to eat and drink. Went at a quieter time of the day for a late lunch and there a few people in. Signature Beef burger was great! The manager who served us, Owen, had great customer service and was very friendly!

Visitado con fuera de amigos debido a la facilidad de aparcamiento. La comida estaba bien, un poco mezclado con los pedidos, pero fue rectificado. La salsa de lubina era un poco insípida. El vientre de cerdo era principalmente de repollo. La porción de pollo asfixiado era pequeña. Podría haber sido encantador con algunos pequeños ajustes.

Really terrible place never seems to improve, staff try their best but seem to be badly let down by the management. There's been quite a few arguments over incorrect change being handed over plus the fact it's mainly young couples who seem to use drugs, as they're always in toilets and entrances arguing and fighting.

Had a gorgeous meal today. Served by a lovely chap called Owen. The brewery must be proud to employ such attentive staff. The food presentation was excellent. Can’t add any more superlatives.

Had a lovely time today, my friends little girl was made very welcome and offered colouring pad and pencils straight away which was great. Owen looked after us and he was so attentive.The mini cheesecake and hot drink was a great finish to the meal too!

Roast dinner weren’t the best. The potatoes were so tiny, crispy and hard. Hardly any potato in them! Service and atmosphere is great though.

Terrible experience. Guinness had to be sent back horrible taste. Roast dinner was disgusting, potatoes rock hard, veg mushy and watery, meat too dry and was cold. Female Manager abruptly and unprofessional no refund or money off on food. Took x2 drinks of bill at best. Will not return again and was advised by relatives the place was no good after their experience the week before.

Lovely, classy, well-managed pub. Excellent options for both food and drink. A firm favourite, which is a consistently high standard venue.

I really like the pub, but the food is hit and miss. Also for the location the drinks are very expensive at almost London prices. What used to be a regular haunt for me, is now once in a while.

Ordered a Roast Dinner at £15.25 each. We received a Childs portion each, with about 4 tiny dry shriveled up roast potatoes. Portion size was genuinely the size of my hand. The food tasted stale, old and generally revolting, Mother ended up throwing up in the bathrooms. Roast Dinner lacked any sustenance and generally was the biggest waste of money ever spent, and we each regretted going and it utterly ruined our night. Please, go anywhere else but this place.

It was St. Valentine's night. My wife and I went to the Bear & Staff in Garacre Brow. The food was very good . Brittiany was our server. She is an asset to this venue,so polite and helpful. The price of the beer is very expensive compared to what I am used to paying At the Northern Bar in Runcorn.

Lovely food. Tasted freshly cooked. Service was great... slight delay in food as a large table sat at the same time but it wasn't overly long and staff regularly updated us. Lovely table space. Would recommend.

The food is okay they've done a lot of cutbacks went on a number of occasions for the 2 for £20 deal never seem to have full menu to choose from so you have to opt for normal menu so it seems a bit of a letdown it used to a great menu loads of choice too sorry guys a bit disappointing 😞
